We had an excellent stay at Prairie Guest House. The room was super clean, comfortable and quiet. Our breakfasts were well done and outstanding. John is a very friendly and welcoming host. The location is close to Carmel, which has several great restaurant options. We highly recommend Josephine, with a French inspired menu.

We hosted my daughter’s Sweet 16 birthday at Prairie Guest House and it could not have been more perfect! The room was beautiful and our guests were impressed by the charm of the space. The staff were so kind, attentive and willing to help with whatever I needed. It was truly a memorable experience!

This is a great little B&B in a quiet area. The rooms are a fun step back in time! The owners, Karen and John, are delightful. The grounds are quite beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and varied day-to-day.
The one and only suggestion we have is that the beds need to be updated to foam mattresses. The springs in our bed were worn and the bed felt a little lumpy because of it. However, this would certainly not prevent us from choosing the Prairie Guest House again, in fact we look forward to visiting again!

Every summer, my best friends and I stay at Prairie Guest House. We stay the weekend that Dave Matthews is playing at Deer Creek. (Rouff Music Center) Talk about a magical weekend and it all starts with our stay here! There’s something uniquely charming about staying at Prairie! It starts when you’re pulling up the drive. The grounds are picturesque. Like you’re stepping into a movie. The guest house is cozy and inviting. It is well kept and clean. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious. You almost forget that you are staying at a B&B because you feel so comfortable and welcome. The owner, John is friendly and makes the most delicious home-cooked breakfasts! I appreciate that they accommodate dietary restrictions and sensitivities. The best part of breakfast in the main house is you may see Fiona, their cat.
This place is special and unforgettable. It will be a part of my Dave weekend for as long as they’re around!

The farmhouse was occupied by my family for Labor Day weekend which is located within 2 miles of my home. The convenience for using my home to host meals and launch forays to attractions, shopping was great and reduced commutes. They raved about the the comfort, hospitality, and attractiveness of the accommodations.

Prairie Guest House is a lovely little bed & breakfast tucked away in Fishers, Indiana. The exterior is surrounded by lush landscaping. As we walked inside, I immediately noticed the beautiful decor. The room was lovely & the en suite bath was a nice size. The place was quiet and peaceful on a Thursday evening. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. I will definitely stay here again!

Great bikes. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. BGI is so easy to work with. I live an hour away, so I was able to buy my bike over the phone during their tent sale. They held it over the weekend until I could drive down to pick it up. I test rode it, got all my questions answered, and I was on my way. Great experience all around!

I’m a beginner in road biking and bought my first used bike in March 2025. At the time, I had no idea what to choose, but the staff were incredibly helpful and guided me through the process. I quickly fell in love with endurance sports, and just five months later, I traded in that first bike for a better one. They’ve treated me really well throughout, and I’m very happy with my second bike too.

Excellent local bike shop. First they have tons of bikes on hand for sale that lets you try them out before purchasing. That, and everything on hand for bike maintenance. Second, they have every accessory you’ll need for your cycling adventures. But mostly, they have an excellent shop that is fast and friendly.

Auston is the best! I first met him at a different store, and ever since then he has consistently gone above and beyond to help. He’s made getting into this hobby so much easier by taking the time to answer my questions, guide me through different options, and even help fine-tune my setup. His knowledge, patience, and genuine willingness to help make all the difference. Couldn’t be happier with the experience!

Had such a great experience at BGI buying our first road bike. Clay helped us out and guided us through every step in the process – showing us how to use the bike, things to consider and ensuring we were knowledgeable and happy with our purchase. Felt very lucky to have him assist us and will definitely return as our bike journey continues. Would absolutely recommend BGI for bikers at all levels.

BGI North is a great place to find the perfect bike for your needs. The only thing better than their immense inventory is the sales staff! Todd went above and beyond to ensure I was completely satisfied with my bike purchase. I was also assisted by Patrick who was very knowledgeable and upfront about the models we looked at. Overall I am extremely pleased with my experience at BGI North, I will be returning for all future bike purchases!

I’ve been looking at getting a nice full suspension mountain bike for a while. My local bike store did not have much inventory at all, and nothing close to what I was looking for. So went to check this bike store out. They had a very large store with a lot of inventory to choose from. I found several mountain bikes that were nice. They let me take one out for a quick test ride, and absolutely fell in love with this electric full suspension mountain bike. I definitely plan on going back to find a bike for my little girl, as soon as she outgrows the one she’s on. I would recommend anyone in central indiana stop in at this bike store before making a purchase somewhere else.

Was skeptical when my buddy told me he booked this for his birthday, the whole concept just seemed kind of odd and not what we usually went out to do. We’re more of a bar hopping, top golf, concert kind of group. I could not have been more wrong!!!
This was an awesome experience, our driver, Grant, was super awesome. You could tell he enjoyed doing what he does and created a great atmosphere from the second we showed up. We were able to play our own music, Grant gave us a drinking game to play throughout the ride, and made a few stops at a couple of bars he recommended.
Could not have been more happy with the experience, all of our group kept mentioning how much fun it was and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was a great time especially thanks to our driver, he sealed the deal. Super down to earth, did his job amazingly well, and made us feel right at home!! Met who was either the owner operator or manager when we got back and he was just as great of a guy from the short chat we had. Thank you Grant and the others at pickle for the most fun we’ve had in quite a while without a doubt
10/10 would recommend and we will hopefully be back in the near future. Thanks again especially to Grant for being such a fun and welcoming host, be safe, and keep being awesome!

Very good and large museum for all ages of children. It’s interactive and knowledge sharing for children. It’s great place to take your children here. You must have enough time in hand to see indoor as well as out door facilities. Nicely made museum.

From the second you see the gigantic dinosaur cracking the building open from the car, it is an amazing experience. Every floor is absolutely packed with amazing exhibits. Things for children and parents, nostalgia at its best. On top of the amazing and beautiful exhibits, they have so many things for little children to do. The playscape is a life saver for kids who need to get some energy out. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They are so open to nursing mothers and mothers with small babies in general when it comes to feeding, relaxing, changing. 100/10 recommend. I’d go even if I didn’t have kids with me.

My family has always wanted to try this museum but the timing never worked out until yesterday! We went on a summer weekday when some Indiana schools were already in session. We went with 4 adults and three kids ages 4, 9 & 11. We bought tickets in advance and parked in the free covered lot. Entry was a breeze and my kids immediately found activities to interest them. We ate at the museum and the food was good (better than many other museums) and very good choices. Prices seemed fine. We were busy from 11-3 and then had to leave but missed two floors! I think my 11yo might be aging out but anyone into sports or solving mysteries would still love it! I would go back! The special Peru exhibit was our favorite, followed by the sports area and the Rube Goldberg Machine.

The Children’s museum is listed as one of the best in the nation. Some aspects of that claim I could definitely agree with. Other aspects left me wondering how they got the recognition. With that being said, the outdoor area is phenomenal. The dinosaur area, pretty fantastic. It felt like certain areas of the building were afterthoughts. Our kids had a great time and that’s the most important part. If you are familiar with the Denver Children’s museum or Portland’s Children’s Museum, those are better in my opinion. I do recommend that if you’re in the area that you check it out if you have the time, but I don’t think I’d make it a must see place in Indy.

Wonderful adventure!
First, I was kind of shocked at the cost of admission. As an IN resident on a Monday, it was $98 for me and my 2 children to get in. Once inside, I was much more understanding! I’ll be applying our admission today towards a membership! 5 levels (LL, and 1-4) plus the 7+ acres of outdoor fun!
The take-a-break room was fantastic for us when we got sensory overload from the lights and noise and people, specifically after lunch. Speaking of which… cost me $52 for 2 slices of pizza ($6.75 each), 2 breadsticks ($5.50), a salad ($16!), and 3 fountain drinks ($16.85). I expected some fairly high prices but the $16 for a salad and the same price for 3 fountain drinks threw me for a loop. Next time, we’ll head out for lunch and come back.
Overall, though, the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are worn out. If you’re planning to do all of it in 1 day… don’t. We arrived at 11:30 am and at 4:41 pm. We really rushed through after lunch when we realized we still had 2 levels and the outdoor area to still get to. They do offer “second day” passes for cheaper than general admission, but that would’ve still been another $50 for the 3 of us. With the bottom-tier family membership at $225, 2 visits and it’s basically paid for itself!

If I was rating just the outside area I would give it 5 stars, the outdoor sports area is incredible! Some of the exhibits inside are really nice but many or extremely screen heavy. I have been to tons of children’s museums all over the country and most have more stuff the kids can play with and more around. This had lots of kiosks and decor. The parking was free and the place is big so those are a plus. Indiana residents get $3 off per ticket.

My boys ages 7 and 5 absolutely love going here. We can spend all day here from open to close. There’s something for both of them no matter what their interest is at the time. The children’s museum is always updating its exhibits so there’s always something new when we go. It’s clean, and the staff is very friendly. It’s educational and keeps there attention which is such a big win! 10/10 Great way to get the littles up and moving. My boys sleep so well after we tackle all 4 floors!! Will be returning!!

A very nice hotel within walking distance to several nice restaurants, sports venues and other downtown attractions. Front desk staff was very attentive and helpful. Bellmen were awesome. My only complaint was late night valet was in booth, but did not notice me pulling up to check in. Front desk person asked me for valet ticket and I told her there was no valet. She went and got his attention and my valet ticket. Executive Lounge has wonderful views and is worth the upgrade if you’re not a frequent flyer. Rooms appear to be recently redone. One new on- property steak house is under construction. Overall a very impressive property.

Great location to Lucas Stadium and Victory Field. The front desk was very helpful in setting up a late check in (passed midnight). The room is clean. Parking was a little tight (I drive a full size pick up) but it was manageable. The banquet halls are clean and the sound quality is great. Plenty of rooms for hosting events. Every staff person was helpful. Also very nice views!

I recently stayed at this location and it was such a nice experience from front desk to rooms, house keeping, great dining/staff, and the front desk extended our stay because we had a late flight. I also left behind my medicine in the fridge and house keeper returned it to lost and found and HUNTER kindly assisted me ensuring safe and quick delivery!!!! That meant so much and will definitely be staying here again next time we are in town.

Amazing experience from start to finish. Customer service was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. Decor was newer so it looked fresh and modern. Bed was comfortable though a bit on the hot side for me. Seemed like the sheeting may have been microfiber instead of cotton? Regardless, I would definitely recommend the JW Marriott as a perfect stay in Indy—especially if you need to be close to all that the downtown has to offer.

☆ 5/5
The hotel itself is located in a prime location for the convention center being attached to most of it via walkways. I would say that the parking is a bit absurd, it can cost up to $59 a day to park in their underground structure. The spots are rather narrow and it seems to fill up brother quickly. The service in the front desk was efficient and they definitely put it on air of luxury with that being said, at its core it is just a simple hotel. The rooms themselves are cleaned regularly as you would expect from such a place, and overall the facilities were for sure above average. If you are looking to stay in the city for convention, there are likely less expensive options outside of the city or nearby, but if you want ease of access to the center as well as to some of the event halls that are often used for conventions, there’s no better place to stay than here.
Caveat, I would not recommend eating at the restaurant that is attached to the hotel, while the service was acceptable, the food itself did unfortunately not settle well for myself and three other people who ate there. We each had different dishes.

What’s not to love about the Indianapolis Zoo?
Having a membership for two years now, my family has fully experienced all the finest parts of the zoo over and over again.
The membership pays for itself after only two visits a year, and we’ve gone at least 10-12 times each year. From ZooBoo to Christmas at the Zoo are the iconic ones, but the times during the weekdays when there are no field trips or herds of children are the best for my part-time home wife.
My daughter has fed giraffes, pet kangaroos, had her face painted and ate Dippin’ Dots on her birthday, rode the train, watched dolphins splash her, gave high-fives at the plexiglass at the orangutangs, smelled flowers, asked why Flamingos are pink, and almost has a visual map in her head of the entire park.
Have I mentioned she just turned three years old?
My son is 9 months old, and he’s had a handful of times already at the zoo, and the amount of experiences the zoo has provided has sustained into our home with imagination zookeeping, making animal noises, reading out of picturebooks her favorite zoo animals, and instead of “Old MacDonald had a farm” it is now “Old MacDonald had a zoo!”.
As a former educator for 15 years, I have witnessed students who have had experiences outside of the home greatly enrich their education and their overall social capital. Having my daughter exposed to so much of the world in the middle of the heartland of Indiana, through the Indianapolis Zoo, I know that she will find her passions in helping conserve and create a better world for the next generations with the education she’s learning here. I am inspired to continue inviting her into these spaces, and I look forward to seeing the wanderlust my son will have for these escapades to the jungle and prairie and everywhere in the park.
If I could give 10 Google reviews with 5-stars, I would give so much emphasis on how essential it is to get a membership, show up and provide the story of the Indianapolis Zoo to embed into your children, and watch them become fuller with each visit.
And you, as the parent of course, can have unlimited soft drinks while you mosey!
THANK YOU, Indy Zoo! You have members for life!

I’ve been to a handful of zoos in my life. The Indianapolis Zoo is my favorite that I’ve been to. The layout made for a wonderful experience as we moved from one exhibit to another. I also think the gardens and foliage planted along all the exhibits really added to it.
We went on a Wednesday in the middle of August. Crowds were light which made for an easy viewing of all exhibits. All the animals were active. Watched the cheetahs chase each other around. Then we were lucky to see them get feed raw meat by the zoo keepers. The dolphin show was fun. The tropical bird and butterfly enclosures were awesome to walk through.
I’d highly recommend making this zoo a destination if you visit Indianapolis.

✨ As a wedding photographer, I absolutely love working at the Indianapolis Zoo! Not only are the grounds stunning—with so many unique backdrops that make wedding photos truly magical—but the staff is also incredibly kind and helpful to work with. From start to finish, they were organized, welcoming, and made the day run so smoothly—not just for the couple, but for us vendors, too!
There’s something so special about celebrating a love story surrounded by nature, and the zoo offers that in the most beautiful way. It’s a one-of-a-kind venue, and I always look forward to capturing weddings here!
Highly recommend for couples looking for a venue that’s both elegant and fun!

Hands down, middle of the week mornings are the best time to go. The Zoo has made so many improvements, and is looking amazing. With that comes the constant construction. However, its is 100% worth the minor inconvenience. If this is your first time considering the Zoo, DO IT ! Definitely top of the list things to do with the kiddos. The outdoor event center is absolutely stunning, and provides an abundance of shade for relaxing under.

This is a well laid-out zoo with plenty of indoor portions for animal exhibits so you can cool off in air conditioning. While my party really enjoyed that, we were sorely disappointed with the train ride. We specifically asked if we would see animals and were told yes. That is not true. You will see the street around the outside of the zoo and chain link fence surrounding the zoo. I included a picture of a parking lot which is what you will see on the train ride. The tracks literally go around the outside perimeter of the zoo. It was extremely disappointing and a complete waste of $20 for our party. Other than that, we absolutely loved the zoo. There are a wide variety of animals to see, and they are well cared for. This was one of the most pleasant zoos I have ever visited.

Wonderful experience! Easy to order tickets online with your timing when you would like to go. We ordered it 2 hours before but I am sure you could just walk in. It was clean, easy to grasp the whole museum and we got to see two cars on the track. It is an interactive museum for all ages.

Visiting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was a great experience for us. We loved the atmosphere and the stadium. The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions.
The facilities are well-maintained, and the Speedway also offers museum tours and track experiences.
The tours are well worth it—even if you aren’t into racing.

Our first Indy 500. We were blown away. What a great time. Everything was like a well oiled . . well, a well oiled engine! Getting into park, getting inside the raceway and to our seats. Fantastic staff there to help out.
If car racing can be classy, the Indy 500 is it. Indiana should be so proud of this event it! Family oriented. I can’t believe how fast these cars go.
We hope to come see again as it was so much fun. We cross3d 8t off our bucket list and then put it back on the list.
Thank you Indianapolis for a great time. You did yourselves proud!
The parade on the day before was also well worth it.

Me and my wife went here as part of our anniversary celebration and we had a great time! The water was pretty low in spots on our trip, but there is nothing anyone could have done about that! The reservation & check in was easy, the staff members were kind, the man who drove us to start our trip told us the whole rundown of the river to help us have the best trip, and did all of the kayak pulling for us! Great trip!

This was the first time we ever used a canoe so I told the young man helping us launch and he was very nice and gave us some tips. All employees were nice from check in, bus driver, launchers, and landers. We felt safe and would definitely do this again! There were a couple other larger groups that floated. They hooked together in their own large circles with cooler floats in the middle. That would be fun for groups. Great experience and highly recommend.

Friendly staff and a great trip. My 13 year old daughter and I did the Rusty Oar trip. We have canoed before, but we are no experts. It was a perfect day. It took us about 4 hours, 15 minutes with little actual paddling, just steering. We stopped for lunch along the way and found cool shells. We also stopped at Potters Bridge to explore and use the facilities. We saw tons of wildlife – geese, ducks, fish, turtles, squirrels and one snake. We got lots of sun and had a wonderful time! The only down side to this location is the water quality that doesn’t lend itself to swimming as we do love to cool off in the water on such excursions. This is just one tiny drawback to an otherwise perfect experience.

We had a group of 10 and it was a great day. Very relaxing! We took a large cooler that fit perfectly. It was a 72qt and it fit very snug. We got the straps to link all of the tubes. I think you can avoid this cost by just using your life vest. The current was good. The water Depth was about 1ft to 7ft. Everything seemed to be well organized and the staff was easy to work with. The bus driver did a great job. She told jokes and pointed out locations along the drive up to the bridge drop off. Approximately 15 min drive up. Overall I would recommend this company. This is a very relaxing day for the costs and great memories. Bring sun screen and water. It took us around 4 1/2 hours to make it.

PROFIT BEFORE PEOPLE!! This company is so disgusting and money hungry!! My teenage child made us a reservation in the wrong city and as soon as she realized it contacted to cancel the same day BEFORE the reservation. On top of that it started pouring rain but they refuse to offer a refund or any kind of makeup day or anything after telling us that day that I would be refunded in 8-10 business days. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! They say that “their records” show it was after the time of the reservation although we have proof otherwise. They refused to accommodate me in any way at all. It doesn’t surprise me though in this area where people only care about money and couldn’t care less about humanity and people’s happiness or well being. It really says so much about companies like that. PROFIT BEFORE PEOPLE

We did the campground to River Rd trip. The first third of the trip was awesome. It was quiet and serene, with all kinds of birds and other wildlife. The second half, after the portage, was packed full of large groups of tubers that were drunk and obnoxious. We had to navigate our way through and around them, even dragging our kayak around shallow areas while they stayed in their spot screaming and getting more hammered by the minute. An overall horrible experience. The amount of tubes on the river was ridiculous and needs to be kept in check. If you’re looking for a fun kayaking trip, then this is not your spot. If you want to get stupid drunk and spend your day surrounded by a few hundred obnoxious idiots, then this is the place for you.

The staff at the agency were extremely helpful and thorough in meeting my needs. They offer reasonable prices, even considering the major events occurring during the weekend I rented, though I suggest to definitely effort to reach out early to secure the best rates. Biking is a far more preferable option to the other forms of transportation in the area, and allows for the opportunity to traverse the hundreds of miles of bike and walking trails Indianapolis & Marion County has to offer.

When is the best time to visit Indianapolis?
The best time to visit depends on what you want to do. Spring offers mild weather and blooming gardens, while fall brings cooler temperatures and colorful foliage. Summer is popular for outdoor festivals and street life, especially in Downtown and the Arts District.
How can I get around the city?
Indianapolis is increasingly easy to navigate by a mix of walking, biking, and transit. The Downtown area is very walkable, and the Cultural Trail offers a safe network for cyclists and pedestrians. The city’s IndyGo bus system provides wide coverage, while ridesharing services and taxis are readily available. Fountain Square offers eclectic shops, live music, and creative dining, while Broad Ripple provides a lively nightlife and arts scene near the river. Museums around the city often host family programming, and you can find seasonal events like special lights and outdoor performances that are suitable for children.

Many parks, outdoor sculptures, and public art installations are free, and some museums offer free or discounted days for residents and certain groups. Checking the city calendar can reveal seasonal festivals and outdoor concerts that fit a tight budget.
What events are must-watch during a visit?
Timely events make a visit memorable. The annual Indy 500 Festival culminates in a grand parade and brings a festival atmosphere to the city in May. The Indiana State Fair showcases agriculture, food, and performances in late summer. The city also hosts concerts, performing arts, and gallery nights in the Arts District throughout the year, plus special holiday displays such as light shows at select venues during winter.
Is Indianapolis accessible for travelers with mobility or dietary restrictions?
Most major attractions and public transit options provide ADA-compliant facilities. Many museums and venues offer accessible entrances, restrooms, and services, and staff are usually trained to assist. Dietary restrictions are well accommodated in many restaurants, with clearly labeled menus and menu customization available. If you have specific needs, it’s helpful to contact venues in advance to confirm accessibility details and services.
How should I plan a multi-day visit and budget tips?
For a well-rounded trip, consider a 2- to 4-day plan that balances museums, neighborhoods, and outdoor spaces. Look for combination passes or timed-visit tickets to save time and money when visiting popular spots like Newfields or the Zoo. Staying in a central Downtown or Mass Ave hotel can reduce transportation costs and make evenings more convenient. Eat at casual food halls and neighborhood cafes to keep meals affordable, and take advantage of free or low-cost activities in parks and along the canal to stretch your budget. Planning ahead for peak times and using public transit can also help you make the most of your stay.
