National Car Rental – Indianapolis Airport Options were a bit limited in the Executive aisle, but when this gleaming star cruiser rolled out, the Force spoke — and I listened. Snagged the Wagoneer the moment it appeared, like a Jedi claiming a fresh hyperdrive. Spacious cabin, smooth ride, and plenty of room for luggage, passengers, and whatever galactic mission awaits. Power, comfort, and a surprisingly calm driving feel — this one made the rental experience feel like cruising through hyperspace. Staff moved quick, pickup was simple, and despite the smaller selection, the vehicle I ended up with was absolutely worth it. May your next rental be just as strong with the Force.

I have the fortunate opportunity to reside in the city of Indianapolis and whenever I rent a car, though there could be inconvenience with tailing it to the airport, it is well-worth it! The team of National Employees at the Indy Airport have consistently been amazing. 1/19/26 Every time I try to book online for this location it says «sold out». Just arrived at IND and there’s got to be 200± cars in the emerald aisle, ready to roll. But here I am taking a lyft to the Enterprise 2 miles from the airport. Do better, National!

National’s staff and service are superb. Great vehicles and I have yet to find one that wasn’t up to snuff preparation wise. I ended up switching from Avis to national after 20 some years with Avis. There is a very clear difference here! Have to say, I’m a fan.

Fantastic experience with Alamo, especially with their «skip the counter» option. That really speeds up the experience after a long flight with kids. When returning the car, the guys were super nice and helpful. One gentleman even saw my family struggling a bit with a big load of stuff and brought over a cart. It absolutely made our day. We rented a full-size SUV, and the experience was excellent. As a regular Enterprise customer, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the service at Alamo, part of the same corporation, was far superior. They let you choose the car you prefer, all vehicles were clean and smelled great, and they even provided an ice scraper. The friendly staff made us feel genuinely welcome. While I’m not familiar with their internal operations, I can confidently say Alamo’s service is leagues ahead of the competition. If you want a hassle-free car rental experience, this is the place to go.

HUGE shout out to Manager on Duty Kevin whom quickly used 2-way to check for an overlooked and favorite travel cushion left on the back seat floor of our return at FLL! Realizing it less than an hour I exited airport to return center hoping it was located. While not a crisis Kevin clearly treated my inquiry with a sense of urgency, made me feel Valued and prioritized the ask! Colleague Brian located it and personally hand delivered it to me at a pre-determined locale in the return center…Thankfully FLL wasn’t too busy going through TSA again and making the flight!

By far my best rental car experience and I have been to many different airports for rentals. The check out process was fast and efficient. Jon B was incredible! Walked me to my car and even put my bags in the car and opened my door for me with a smile on his face and wonderful conversation!! My car was clean with no damages and I also experienced no hassle on the back end after returning my vehicle. I will absolutely be back! I actually had prior to arriving, rented from Hertz/Dollar but the line was long and it would’ve taken me probably an hour to get a car at least and I saw Alamo had one person in line. Although it was a few dollars more to rent with them it was 10000% worth it!

The people that I worked with at the Indianapolis international airport were professional and wonderful, the car was in great shape, the process was smooth. The only wonky part was a small change in cost (quoted week cost but billed differently – ultimately came out to be about $2 delta so very minor). I would have liked a little more guidance as to why everything was shuffled around bill wise but otherwise would definitely rent from them again! Much better than the process with a competitor earlier this summer.

Based on a previous positive experience involving an Alamo representative, we rented again for this IN trip. We paid extra to reserve a hybrid, but when we arrived there were none available and the regular counter was closed. Not a deal breaker, but no one likes to waste money. So we hopped into a Altima and went on our way. When we returned the car, Jacob was welcoming and kind making the return feel personal. He took an interest in the reservation and refunded the difference. Small act, but really appreciate the Alamo representatives being empowered to better the experiences of their customers. This is why I will continue to rent from them.

If you’re googling which Enterprise to go to, just stop your search and go to this one . Shoot, I would even drive out of your way to get to this one. I’ve visited locations throughout the state and none of them compare to the downtown Indy location. Brock is the reason why I will drive out of my way for this location. He’s always quick, efficient, and friendly. He’s got great customer service so it doesn’t surprise me that the rest of his team does as well. Managers at other locations should spend a day with Brock and learn a thing or two. Until then, I’ll keep going to this location.

Rented the cheapest category car 4 times now, 3 out of 4 times I got a car better than my booking. Every car was clean, <1 year old, fun to drive, and equipped with good features. Employees are also nice. Would definitely recommend this enterprise location.

This location on e market street is one of the best I’ve experienced. From prompt pickup to having everything ready when I got there. It was really fast and all questions were answered. Car did not have windshield wiper fluid when we drove away and when we brought it back, the attendant blamed me. 🤡 She also said it could have froze up, but they do make winter fluid that doesn’t freeze and in fact acts as a de-icer. 🥶 Such service! For the price you pay now, they should be checking all of this and making sure to use high quality fluids appropriate for the condition. The customer shouldn’t be charged with checking these things – albeit a good habit. DO NOT RENT FROM SIXT. Counter closes at 6 pm on Saturday!! Flight was delayed and arrived at counter at 6:15 but no one was there. Had to rent from Enterprise. Sixt wouldn’t issue a refund saying no grave period. They’re a rental car company at an airport. Flight delays are to be expected. Totally horrible customer service.

The SUV I rented was bad on gas. When I got there they didn’t have the car I paid for already and was trying to charge me 40 dollars extra because I didn’t want the smaller car they was offering. Never again rent a Mitsubishi.

I arrived at Indianapolis Airport around 6pm on a Monday. Had a fast turnaround heading back out on Wednesday. I didn’t catch their name, but the service was kind and friendly. I got to the desk and in my car within 10mins. From my experience that was superfast. Although I had reserved a compact (due to business travel orders) but was upgraded to a Chevy Traverse. I absolutely did not mind at all. It was a pleasure to drive. It was clean and well kept. Absolutely no bumps or scratches. The windshield was a bit dirty. (But it’s hard to find any rental car with clean windows). 10/10.

They didn’t clean out the car at all when I received it and there were scratches everywhere on the outside of a brand new 2023 Chevy Malibu. The lady at the front desk at the sixt rental place at the Indianapolis airport was very rude and they will not take your bank card if it says debit on there even though it’s a credit & debit card! So make sure you have a credit card! I would avoid the white heavy set lady with brownish grey long hair because she’s very rude! I would also tell them you want a clean car or they will give you one that has streaks all in the windows and food and crumbs all on the floor. I had to clean it out before I returned it so they didn’t try to charge me or say anything & that took me 2 HOURS! SMH Also make sure you take pictures of all the dents and marks inside and outside of the car before you pull off just in case! I will NEVER go through this company again due to all of this!

I’m here at 3pm on a Thursday for business. There’s two people checking in a line of about 50 people and they want you to PreCheck on your cell phone but when you get through the whole process you still have to wait for somebody to look at your credit card. I’m not impressed. Then the 2nd guy closes his station leaving us waiting for grass to grow. Neighboring counters have 4 cashiers and 2 people in line. Booo.

Is it possible to give a «0» star review? I was charged a total of $263 of fradulent fees upon returning the vehicle. My current case number with Budget is 89033018. I booked through a 3rd party, QEEQ, for a car to be assigned at pickup. This was for a one-way rental, with pick up in St. Louis and return in Indianapolis. I paid through QEEQ and had $0 due at pickup. I took the car that assigned to me at pickup (the staff at the counter had to figure out a car they had that could go one way). At no time was I asked if I wanted to upgrade the vehicle type. I also turned down insurance (I provide my own for car rentals) and the pre-paid fuel option. After returning the vehicle to Indianapolis (it was a one-way rental), I received an additional $263 charge from Budget for the pre-paid fuel, and for a vehicle upgrade. I had agreed to neither of these. I will never rent through Budget again, and will work to disparage this den of thieves for the rest of my life.

Reserved and pre paid for a rental. Got here and the line was a couple hours long. The staff said this is normal when it’s busy. So I can’t contact customer service to cancel and use another rental company. All the others have NO line at all. Watch out, get a budget and you might not get your reserved car, get out in time to make your appointment, or be stuck having a pre paid rental charged to you that you couldn’t cancel.

Reserved a car weeks in advance, but when we went to pick up our car, we were told that only a few sedans were left. A sedan was too small for our family. We were told to come back the next day and there was no option to call ahead to see if any cars were returned. In total, it took two additional days and three Uber trips to finally fulfill our reservation. We also were charged more for the rental than what our reservation rate was. We were told there was no way they could adjust the rate and had been promised Uber reimbursement, but now we have to take all that up with the national customer service line. I felt bad for the employees working there who had to face a long line of customers who had unfulfilled reservations after Budget overbooked (some customers had even pre-paid and were stranded). There was a system failure at some level and it wasn’t the fault of the employees sitting at the counter. Will not use Budget ever again.

The car we got was great. The extra chargers not so much. I think I got charged twice for total protection of the car. When I booked the rental online, my total was a little over $508. At the budget rental counter all of sudden there is another $255 in fees. One car rental over $755 for just 4 days. I was tired after a very early flight and the budget rental guy advantage of that. I tried telling him I had already paid for the total protection of the car when I booked online and he still charged more for the same warranty. I won’t do that again.

After reading some pretty poor reviews before collecting our hire car, I was quite nervous about collection our car! I’m pleased to say that we received excellent service from the staff behind the counter, who despite us being 24hrs late to collect (due to a cancelled flight), dealt with the paperwork quickly and efficiently. I should mention that we collected our car the day after flying into Indy, at 8am, and so the desks were pretty quiet. It can be much busier in the evenings. The car provided was excellent, very clean and pretty much brand new.

They rejected my debit card today after renting from this airport location twice recently with no issues. The next day I find my debit card has been charged after being told it would not be charged. The agent did not cancel the reservation at the point of sale after I was told it was taken care of. The customer service agent who assisted me with the cancellation the next day did not understand why I was denied with a recent history of rentals with no problems. So now I wait seven days to get my money back and I’m out $30 for a Lyft to the airport. Budget has dropped the ball more than once in this incident. They have inconsistency in making clear their own policy’s and enforcing them. Your history with this company is meaningless and has no bearing on present or future business.

Avoid this one. This location is partially skilled at telling you they are out of the car car you booked, even though they are sitting in the lot, and then try to force you to pay for an upgrade. They will then try to downgrade you and tell you not to worry about the upgrade charge, that isn’t due. They will absolutely refuse to credit you the difference on the downgrade. AND, it regularly takes 45-hour to actually get out of the lot as they have only one exit boot open and that person spends a great deal of time trying to sell you insurance coverage, gas service and additional upcharge items.

Walked up to the desk at the Indianapolis Airport location to attempt to return a key I had accidentally kept on my person when leaving the Seattle Airport location. They were incredible in Seattle, receptive to my questions and ultimately guided me on what possible options I had. One of those was potentially returning the key through my home location’s rental center! The girl at the front desk at 11pm on Monday night here in Indianapolis rolled her eyes when I walked up, didn’t take her Airpods out of her ears for even a second, and didn’t seem to listen to what I said and just repeated her lines a few times that I «just need to call them» and I realized very quickly I was getting zero attempt at help or customer service. Very unprofessional to where it needed to be stated here that there’s a real chance a customer may receive vague indication of what to do with company property. Feels like a liability if you ask me.

No customer service whatsoever, you cannot get a live person on the phone for this location. They sent me an incident report after I turned the car in for front bumper damage, thank goodness I had taken photos of the car after I turned it in that clearly showed 0 damage. They will try to take your money. I accidentally selected 3 am for the return time, there is no customer service to get so when I returned the vehicle at 4 am (3 hours before they even open), they still charged me a full late day. Again, you cannot get anyone on the phone and they will try to charge you for extra things so take plenty of before and after pictures. Horrible experience.

The pick up of the vehicle was fine. Walked to the lot. Staff told us to choose from the available vehicles. We selected a Kia small suv for the room. But inside the airport garage it was quite dark and several cosmetic issues were noted once we stopped outside in the sun. I’m including photos and hope they don’t try to charge me for damages. There were a couple of deep scratches, a few dents, and a small crack in the windshield.

Will ONLY USE AlAMO/NATIONAL at IND from now on. Booked a reservation as a gold member with hertz for 11:30 PM. Had everything set up for skip the counter pick up. «Delays happen that’s why we’ll hold your vehicle for up to 2 hours past your scheduled pick-up time» couldn’t be more misleading. My flight was delayed over an hour, I arrived at IND to see no one at the counters but several «yes we’re open, head to the garage to pickup your vehicle» signs. I went to the garage with another customer in a similar situation, neither of our names were on the gold board. The garage office was closed and had signs saying to go back to the terminal to speak with an agent. Everyone had gone home. The only rental agency with onsite 24/7 service was Alamo/national. They were able to get me a vehicle around 2AM, without them I would’ve been stranded until hertz opened. Trying to get a refund/cancelation was a PITA that took online chat, several calls, holding, and transfers. They did eventually cancel the reservation and kindly removed the cancelation fee. Will not book here again.

No!!! Hertz uses AI machines to scan for damage. They flagged my rental car due to a light bulb not illuminating a reflector above the right front tire. The process to get this corrected was 1.5 hours and the stress of a potential $600.00 bill was completely unnecessary. All this because the day time running lights were turned off due to it being night and the reflector was not lite up for the picture when it was returned during the day. I picked up the car at night, so it was illuminated then (see picture below). I got the car through Tom Wood Audi and the gas level was about 5/8. I took a picture and showed it to the red hair girl in the service department who worked for Sixt. She had not checked the gas level before she gave me the car. After i showed her the picture, she said she would note it on the contract that the car was at 5/8 fuel level. Before i returned the car with only about 30 miles use, i put enough gas in it to get it to the previous level. Next day they charged me $10.14 for gas although I had put gas in it to the same level. They always do that and I have to spend time on the phone to dispute it. I will never again rent from them either directly or through Tom Wood and I suggest you don’t either.

Tried them for the first time this weekend and it was a good experience overall. Short line, fast check-in and pick up process, and friendly customer service and easy after-hour drop off. Oh, and it was the cheapest I could find at that time. Definitely trying again! I rented a small SUV. They gave me a Nissan Kick which was perfect. My only complaint would be that they didn’t let me park my vehicle that day because they were overloaded and it’s a pretty small lot. But they would allow it if it weren’t so busy.

Worst experience ever. Rented a car in Indianapolis and traveled to destin Florida with no Ac, navigation, plate light, brake light. Dashboard screen went all black. Charging ports not working . Not the best travels with 4 kids.Agent wanted me to drive to New Orleans and pay for a new rental. 5 hours away from our location.

I should have read other reviews before leaving the lot. My car was 3/4 full when I rented it. The customer service agent told me it was 3/4. I returned it 3/4 full. The contract said it was full when I rented it and they billed me $35 for 3 gallons of fuel. The car was fine. Not good. Not bad. I was able to get their national office to refund the fuel charge.

I don’t understand the negative reviews below (many seem to be for other locations that aren’t 96th street or even Indiana). I rented a car with about 1 hour notice; it was so simple to book online and to get pre-checked in on the app before arriving. Staff was very friendly, and I was out the door within a couple minutes after arriving. In my experiences, SIXT is so much easier (and usually cheaper) than the other big national providers.

Picked up a car in Illinois for a trip to Kentucky, and shortly after, the dashboard went completely out. I called corporate and waited on hold for 45 minutes. When someone finally answered, I was told that this location would have a replacement car waiting for me. However, when I arrived, despite a full lot, they refused to swap out the vehicle and instead told me to go to the airport location—45 minutes in the opposite direction—claiming they couldn’t do the exchange due to «availability.» Completely unacceptable.

I will not use them again. Charged me for gas. I filled it full just a couple miles from Sarasota airport. Now I’ve received a charge of $17.15 six weeks later. Not a large sum but I know it was completely full when I dropped it off. Actually, when I picked it up and drove to Bradenton and it was already off the full mark so it was not really «full» when I picked it up either. It was a VW Jetta and it drove like the struts were missing and loud thuds on every minor bump plus lacked power to pull into traffic. I took pictures and videos before and after just because they seemed shady. I would suggest using a well know company as I have never been charge for gas before.

Arrived for rental car. All other companies have at least 1 representative at the desk. After searching and calling was able to finally talk to a real person who said «well your flight landed early and your reservation isn’t for 30 minutes. Please wait and if no one shows up then call our customer service line.» Worthless, if any of the other companies had a rental available I’d gladly give them my business. Disappointed and enraged that I have to give these people my money to rent a car because they are my only option now. Will never be booking with this company again. They won’t notice though because they don’t even have people at their stations 🤷🏻‍♂️ multiple other people also waiting for a hopeful return.

I will never ever. IN MY LIFE, rent from Payless again in my entire life. You all screwed my reservation and only reserved it for 2 days instead of the 7 as I said, and then had the audacity to say the car was stolen because of YOUR screw up. Not only that but because of your screw up, you are trying to charge me $1600 MORE than the quoted amount. I will fight this until I get my money back and I will leave this review on every single review page possible. I am LIVID.

After several hours of delayed flights, I finally arrived in IND to pick up the rental. I had never heard of Payless before but they had the cheapest rates so I decided to gamble on the company. The customer service was first class and the process was easy! Within 5 mins I was walking out to my rental. The Jeep I was given was very very nice. It was comfortable and very classy. The return process was just as awesome. I will always look for a Payless from here on out. I have been a customer and member of Enterprise for over 20 years, but they are no longer my go-to company. Their customer service and rates have changed over the years and frankly the service has gone south. Thank you Payless! You have gained a new customer! Keep up the great work at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND)!!

I returned my car and remembered I left an unopened bag of chips in the back. I went back to check the car no more than 5 minutes to discover the staff had found and started eating my chips, similar to the way wild animals dig through the trash for food. Perhaps if I’d left my wallet I would have found it empty of my money? I can understand confiscating food and waiting until the end of day to claim it, and I know the bag of chips I left, Chester’s Hot Cheetos Fries, are delicious, but it’s really disgusting that staff would be so quick to just steal what’s yours. Also the staff didn’t take his headphones out or look up from his phone when I was checking out the car initially. I don’t recommend Payless Car Rental, but I fear if you’re reading this you’re like me and have no other options.

One star experience. Waited 2.5 hrs in line. They ran out of car quickly. Luckily I got a one. The poor folks behind waited just as long and then told there was no more cars. Five or six counters there. 1 to 2 staff working for AVIS, BUDGET PAYLESS. The management was so bad. Wanted to shout out to staff. They tried their best but there was only so much they could do. Thou at the end, I was lucky enough to get a cool ride.

May God ncrase or decrease the given stars based off of how the turn in goes. This was a fairly easy rental. Their computers went down so some additional help was required. Disappointed that it was $15 per day to add my adult daughter so that didn’t happen. We had the car for 18 days. For 3 adults with 5 suitcases we had plenty of room in the Tuscan we were given. No complaints on the car and it was the best cost that I found in 5 months of searching. Clean car too.

Horrible customer service at the Indianapolis airport with Amanda. She could not have been ruder to us. It was the day after Thanksgiving and apparently Management doesn’t work on Friday after Thanksgiving. I was told to talk to management on a card she pointed to on the desk. I was there over an hour and never got a call back from Michelle Evans. I was then told it was due to the holiday. I won’t ever use them again.

I flew into Indianapolis a week ago with my family of 4. I went to get the rental and I was told they only had a smaller suv than what I ordered back in July. The female at the counter let me know that I could cancel, which wasn’t possible being that I just flew in and had a 90 minute drive to my destination. I said, «what choice do I have?» She replied, «you can walk». The other female at the counter assured me that our luggage would all fit in the back of this Jeep they rented me. As I get to the vehicle, it wasn’t washed, or cleaned inside. Part of the back seat had to be folded down to slide bags forward so we could manage to get the 4 suitcases in. Not the most comfortable drive for my guests in the backseat, but again, what choice did I have?!? The lady had no customer service skills, and gave no other alternative to help. She was dressed like she just rolled out of bed and threw on whatever clothes she found on the floor. Some zip-up sweatshirt over a shirt…and neither showed she worked for «Thrifty». Coming back to turn in, they get your vehicle and keys from you and let you go on your way…which is okay but the next day is when you get an update to your rental. I didn’t cause any damage to my rental but the way they do it is just sketchy. Imagine flying back to your original destination to see they claimed damages to your car you didn’t cause. The time to dispute it is gone because you’re not there in person. It’s not the most professional way to do business and so I wouldn’t recommend it.

Unfortunately, I cannot give a zero rating. Upon arrival, I waited nearly 20 minutes to receive my vehicle because, although it had arrived the night before, it had not been detailed. Instead of providing a properly prepared vehicle, the service assistant gave me a coupon and directed me to Crew Car Wash to have the car cleaned myself. This resulted in additional time and inconvenience that should not have been my responsibility. After finally receiving the vehicle and beginning to drive away, I noticed it had only 83 miles to empty. I returned inside to address the issue and was told that it had been noted on my contract. While I understand it may have been documented, it still required me to immediately stop for gas—another unnecessary delay. Additionally, the car was completely covered in salt, and when I attempted to use the windshield washer fluid, I discovered it was empty. Visibility was extremely poor, which is both frustrating and a safety concern. This was, without question, the worst rental experience I have ever had. Between the wait time, the lack of proper detailing, the low fuel level, and the empty washer fluid, the vehicle was clearly not prepared to standard. Based on this experience, I am reconsidering using Hertz in the future.

I called in to the customer help center to rent a Tesla. The representative assured me this location had one and there were no substitutions that could be made, so I booked the reservation with her. That was weeks ago. I get a call this morning, the DAY of the rental, stating that this location doesn’t even have EVs. I do understand that things may be unavailable, but to know that you don’t have ANY EVs and not bother to call until the DAY of the rental to tell a customer that you don’t have one is NOT acceptable.

HORRIFIC customer service. Booked a vehicle last night via Expedia for this location and received a voicemail this evening that they simply «don’t have a vehicle to rent me». Then WHY was I able to reserve it?? WHY do you have listings on a 3rd party site when you don’t have the vehicles to rent? The person who left me a voicemail this evening was so rude and stated «if you want to be refunded for this VEHICLE THAT WE CANNOT PROVIDE FOR YOU – you’ll have to call hertz customer service.» And then he left a number. I’ve been on the phone with their poor excuse for customer service for 40 minutes. Still with no resolution. NO CAR and NO REFUND. NEVERRRRR AGAIN.

The main issue was nobody answering the phone. I called every 5-10 minutes for 2 hours before someone answered. All I had was a question that I needed answered before I went there. Upon arrival the employee was rude and cold. I got the car with no walk thru or explanation of anything. I’ve rented several times before and I’ve never had that. When it was time to drop off the car I again tried to call to find out where to drop the car off because he didn’t tell me, (my car was being worked on at a dealership). I tried about 5-6 times and finally went to the hertz location and had to wait again for service just to tell me to leave it at the dealership. FIVE DAYS LATER I got a call asking me where the car was. I proceeded to tell them where it was and again I was rudely spoken to. Fortunately I don’t need rentals very often but I will definitely be steering clear of hertz unless they’re the last resort.

Used Hertz for rental on holiday out of state. Website pricing was strangely inconsistent using AAA but we locked in a fair price. Vehicle was not clean for us when we picked it up. However we were given a voucher for exterior cleaning at the Sparkling Image car wash next door. We used that after pick up of vehicle but interior was dirty too … especially under the rear seats. I ended up vacuuming the whole vehicle out myself at home because it was just nasty: old food mostly. Staff were fast in handling paperwork as I needed to be added as a second driver. We were in and out in just a few minutes. We ordered a Chevy Equinox size vehicle and got the bigger Toyota 4Runner which did great in the Smokey Mountains. Vehicle sipped gas thanks to ECO mode which we tried to use throughout the trip. Overall happy with vehicle and pricing but unhappy about condition of vehicle at pick-up.
