We had the absolute best experience with Raegan photographing our November wedding. From our very first consultation, she was incredibly thoughtful, organized, and transparent about the entire process. She took the time to understand our vision and made us feel completely at ease throughout planning. Can’t say enough good things about Clay House in general and our photographer, Jen Krampitz. I was blown away by the care, detail, and intentionality each individual we interacted with through Clay House put into their work and how they communicate with their clients throughout the wedding planning process. I couldn’t recommend Clay House enough. Raegan and her team shot our wedding but they did so much more. From the moment she got there she immediately eased any stress that I had. She kept everything flowing and made sure I was taken care of. They both made it not even seem like we were being photographed and the results were priceless pictures exhibiting true raw emotions of an amazing day. My husband and I had the pleasure of having Raegan photograph our wedding in July. Neither of us are big on getting our picture taken but she made it feel so natural and comfortable for both of us. The candlelight concert looks amazing. Note there are stairs. The concert is worth climbing them. The building is gorgeous.

This venue is an absolute dream. It was everything I envisioned my wedding to be. On top of it being beautiful, Jasmine, Summer and Cyrus were great to work with and very understanding of what I wanted and the budget I had. On the day of my wedding, jasmine was there to orchestrate everything and ensure all went as planned which made everything a breeze as I didn’t have a wedding planner or day of coordinator. As a full time employee, this venue was very accommodating of my time to see the venue- on numerous occasions, I saw the venue after 4pm. Cyrus also makes some of the most amazing props for your wedding day. Below you’ll see my sweetheart table that Cyrus handmade along with a favors stand and cake table that Cyrus also handmade. This venue is a dream to look at and even better to work with! Couldn’t recommend more.

This is probably the best purpose for a church that I can imagine. We came and listened to a string quartet here play Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons and it was a great experience. The venue is small and cozy, and you can clearly hear the performance with amplification anywhere in the room. Parking is limited, but the small capacity makes it so that parking and entry is not chaos and queueing.

This is a great date night event that is reasonably priced and makes for a memorable night. The legnth of time is perfect even though you are left with wanting more. I can recommend this to anyone that want to make an impression. Dress nice but it’s not formal.

The Hip Hop Orchestra was a 10/10! It was so beautiful with the candlelight and very well organized. I love that they have 2 shows. I just hate that the hour had to end. They sound fantastic! I will definitely go again this summer to see the Adele or Beyoncé show.

My husband and I had an amazing evening listening to the stringed quartet at Cyrus Place playing my favorite Abba songs. The candlelit setting was superb and the musicians extremely gifted!

We did a newborn photo session at the studio. Shaindel, the photographer was great with our baby! The whole thing went smoothly with just a short time of breastfeeding break. I went to Shaindel for my sons newborn photography shoot. Being a first time mom I was a little nervous about just handing my baby over, but Shaindel totally put me at ease. I could tell that she absolutely adores babies and had the most nurturing and gentle touch with my little guy. It would take a ton of patience to do what she does and she was amazing at it. Her studio was in a very neat, artsy building close to downtown and was very cozy inside. I would highly recommend Shaindel for any of your family or personal photography needs. Gosh I wish he could’ve been in charge of planning the whole wedding with his responsiveness and attention to detail. Our DJ Tim and his sidekick Nick were phenomenal. Excellent sense of humor, perfectly timed sound bites from our favorite tv show, perfect dance music to fit our upbeat, eclectic taste. The pictures from the photobooth turned out amazing. Fantastic lighting, really fun props (and let us bring our own too – Dumb and Dumber outfits), and the attendants kept everyone moving at a good pace. Could not have asked for a better team to make our wedding day a blast!

Glenn and Alex were communicative leading up to the wedding, and changes that we made to the ceremony/reception/music just a couple days prior were no problem. During the ceremony, everything went off without a hitch. In the reception, Alex accommodated a wide range of requests, and kept the energy going. We had both the DJ and the videographer services through complete weddings at our wedding and they were both very thorough in preparations and making sure everything went the way we wanted. We ended up having a different DJ due to sickness but he was the most accommodating and flexible person that I didn’t have to worry about a thing. He did amazing! The videographer was moving around the venue the whole time and got some awesome shots. Both were wonderful and would highly recommend!

Amelia and Kevin (photo + vid) were an absolute dream team! They both showed us some clips and sneak peaks as they captured things and we cannot wait to see the end results. They kept things moving, gave advice where it was needed, and were totally on top of the timeline and content. Not only were they organized, responsive, and easy to get ahold of, they answered any and all questions and really made the experience easy! Our photographer Christine and our DJ Tim were incredible. Christine was very kind, professional, and an amazing photographer. Made the planning process easy with open communication. We have only seen a couple sneak peaks but the shots are incredible, she really made the day special for us. Tim was an amazing DJ, easy to work with, and was able to find all the songs we were looking for day of. He was amazing finding the mood and vibe of the dance floor all night, entertaining the kids, to the older crowd. He made the night a lot of fun and very memorable for everyone. Overall it was an incredible experience and I if you have either of these two they will make your night incredible.

We have been using Lane as our family photographer for a couple of years now, and I truly can’t imagine working with anyone else! Her communication is always great, her pricing is great, and she is amazing with kids — even on days when they aren’t showing their best behavior. Lane did an amazing job with our engagement and wedding photos! Working with her from the engagement session, pre-wedding meeting, and day of was seamless. Lane was absolutely fantastic for our family mini photoshoot at her studio this month. She kept our two year old son happy and engaged the whole time (which is not easy) and produced amazing family photos that we will cherish forever. Very timely in getting the gallery back as well. We hadn’t had family photos done in a very long time, so I booked a session with Laney—and I’m so glad I did. She captured some of the best pictures we’ve had in years. She was incredibly easy to work with, took her time, and still managed to keep everything moving smoothly. Even with a nine-month-old baby and nine other adults, she got everyone photographed in a timely and stress-free way. I would 100% recommend her.

It’s cafeteria style. You grab a tray, move down the line, and order at the counter. Make sure you’re ready to order and know exactly what toppings you want before you get up there so you don’t hold the line up. They take efficiency seriously, and if you’re not ready… you might hear about it. I learned that the hard way after not reading the sign about toppings. That said, the food was really good. The sandwiches are stacked high with a serious amount of meat, the kind where it’s piled on way beyond what you expect. It is a bit pricey. My sandwich came in at over $20, but the portion size and quality made it worth trying. If you’re in Indianapolis and want a classic deli experience with big portions, this place is definitely worth the stop.

Had to try this local favorite as several people recommended it. I ordered two sandwiches as i couldnt decide between the reuben and pastrami. Overall, the restaurant is cafeteria style, wait in line with your tray, ask the busy lady to build your sandwich to order, pick your sides and checkout at the end. This all while the person behind you is glaring holes through you if you so much as ask for clarification on a menu item. The reuben was tasty, saurkraut nicely balanced the meat. Unfortunately, The beef was dry and and the thin slices of meat created an almost gritty texture, if thats the best reuben in Indy, then noted, certainly wasn’t expecting world class deli here anyway. The pastrami was a different story, really flavorful meat piled high. Freshly baked rye bread was delicious. I had to try the mac n cheese, but wish I hadn’t. There was so much salt in that tiny bowl, it was like spoonfuls of sea water. Probably a months worth of sodium between the sandwiches and 3 or 4 bites of the american cheese salt noodles, hard pass. Overall, despite it being fairly reasonable for what you get, i probably wouldn’t go back.

Review for Shapiros in Indianapolis. I got the Rebecca sandwiches for half the meat so I could try multiple sandwiches. I got the Rebecca New York Ruben, unfortunately it had Cole slaw on it instead of sourkrout which was odd and definitely affected the taste. The meat was okay, the rye was a nice buttery flavor as it was toasted. The Corned beef sandwich was also on rye, not toasted. Not as good. Corned beef was as good as the pastrami on the Ruben. I got a half pound of the peppered beef on its own and that was the best meat I had on my visit. Overall good. I think my Ruben was made incorrectly.I was hoping for that sharp saurerkraut bite and was hit with a creamy sweetness of coleslaw. Im genuinely disappointed with this. I get to indianapolis a few times a year. I will try it again and hope for a proper made sandwich. Parking looks like it could be difficult at times.

Shapiro’s is an old-fashioned cafeteria/deli with great food. I was able to get in line (although it wasn’t busy at the time) and get my order in without much trouble, and the staff seemed mostly friendly. My eyes were bigger than my stomach though, so I ended up getting more than I should have. I got a deviled egg, some matzo ball soup, and a chopped liver sandwich. It was all delicious, and the sandwich was especially rich and savory. It’s cool that places like this are still in operation. I’d definitely visit again.

What are pleasant surprise for my first visit to the city of Indianapolis. Luckily I was staying right nearby at towneplace Marriott. Soon as my wife saw that there was a delicate test and she said we had to definitely check it out. It ends up being her family name. We ended up eating there twice on our weekend in Indianapolis. The pastrami on rye also the Reuben on rye are delicious although some may think they’re expensive you get plenty of meat for your money. The secret is they do offer a half size. Half the cost. The key lime pie I thought was fantastic. The deviled eggs were delicious. My wife had matzo ball soup everyday and loved it. She also got chicken salad on a croissant and you can tell the chicken salad was legit. One of our visits we arrived right at opening and we were the first people in line. The second time we went was about around 12:30 pm and we were in line about 40 people deep for about 20 minutes. The line eventually went out the door but it does move pretty fast. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Indianapolis. Shapiro’s is a must go must see place.

The Rueben is as advertised! I’d believe it is the best in the Hoosier state. The pastrami was high quality and the best I can remember. Glad we found this gem of a restaurant on Google Maps. It’s also fun to find local restaurants that have been steadily operating for a long long time… wow since 1905! 🤯🥪🥪🥪🥪😋

Coming from Chicago and Loving Manny’s Delicatessen I was pleasantly surprised with how good the Reuben was. I had never had the New York style Reuben before, and it was amazing. The corn beef, the brisket, the pastrami all of them were excellent. The husband had the fried chicken which was crispy and juicy. Everything was so good. The matzo ball soup is one that tasted like a grandma was in the back and made it. I will definitely be back for more.

INDUSTRY was everything we wanted and more for our wedding day! It was the perfect venue and the team was so accommodating for our larger wedding size. The open concept of the space made for a beautiful ceremony and reception, and the ability to bring in our own vendors allowed us to be creative and have some fun with our wedding day itinerary. Alisa, our planner through INDUSTRY, supported us every step of the way and truly helped our vision come to life! She made the day of the wedding seamless and made sure we only had to focus on enjoying ourselves and all our guests. We cannot recommend INDUSTRY enough, and if you choose this venue, make sure to work with Alisa, she is the best 🙂

I cannot think of enough positive adjectives to use for this review. Our son and daughter-in-law recently held their wedding ceremony and reception at Industry. It was simply beautiful! The venue is spacious, plenty of room for guests to spread out and mingle with one another. Oddly enough there are cozy areas as well for guests to play a few hands of Uno or have a quieter conversation! The location provided unique urban photo opportunities without being overwhelmed by traffic and noise. Guests were able to walk to the venue from nearby hotels. The venue is clean. The staff is efficient, helpful and kind. Alisa Apple, their wedding coordinator, was just outstanding! Her attention to detail throughout the planning process was incredible BUT her attention to the couple on their wedding day was something beyond! She made sure they had their dream wedding, while also helping other family members navigate the day. Her consideration of me, mother of the groom (possibly the least important female in the wedding party) was heartfelt and alleviated any anxiety I had. She and her staff even helped us load the last few items into our car at the end of the night. I highly recommend Industry for your event in downtown Indy!!

We absolutely loved having our ceremony and reception at Industry! Two of our high priorities when searching for a venue was outside catering availability and guest size. They were able to work with my husband’s family providing food for the event and allow a guest size up to 300 people! I also absolutely loved the aesthetic of the place! Such great natural lighting, decor, and beautiful brick backdrops. I hired month of coordination and Alisa was wonderful! She was the point person for the day of the wedding and took care of every small detail. Our day ran so smoothly and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day! Hosting our reception at INDUSTRY on April 7, 2024 was an incredible experience! We were amazed by their flexibility, exceptional service, and how well they took care of us. The venue provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration, and their attention to detail ensured everything went smoothly. Highly recommend Industry for anyone looking for a venue that goes above and beyond!

Most uncomfortable chairs I’ve ever sat in. I think I now have scoliosis. My employer held a meeting for management here, so I cannot speak on the cost or value, but it was more than adequate room for the 140 plus who attended. I feel like we could have had double the attendance and still been comfortable. Plenty of large screen TV’s for the presentations. The bathroom was very clean and smelled good. Inside and out, the venue was well maintained. Staff was professional, friendly and very courteous. The all original exposed brick was cool and overall I thought the place had a nice vibe to it. I’d personally consider this event center for a wedding or party and will suggest it to others….but I would definitely bring in my own seating!!!

My husband and I had the pleasure of being invited to a wedding at Laurel Hall. It was stunning! It felt cozy but open and just dripping in the old money feel (in a great way!). It’s beautiful inside and out and they have that venue set up perfectly for weddings and events. If you’re looking for a unique and beautiful place to say your forevers, consider Laurel Hall!

This is a fantastic venue to host a wedding! Having accessible indoor and outdoor area for guests is great and the building itself is gorgeous.

Perfect venue for a wedding. The location is full of neat history, the architecture is beautiful, and the grounds outside are lovely. There is a very neat chapel upstairs that even provides for the feeling of being married in a church if that is important to you. One negative to keep in mind is because the building is so old, there is no elevator access to the third floor where the chapel is, so that could prove a challenge if you have guests attending in which climbing stairs is difficult.

LOVED spending our day shooting at Laurel Hall! It is beautiful and private and has so many little spots and spaces tucked away for amazing photos. It is a joy when couples choose this venue and I am happy to return again and again!

Beautiful hidden gem of a venue in Indy! Gorgeous rooms that are perfect for a wedding or just a session! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique space! Will definitely recommend to all my clients!

We’ve been to Laurel Hall for several events both as hosts and as attendees. The mansion and grounds are lovely. The food has been mostly decent, but note that there are several options for caterers so you’re not always getting the same quality at each event. The staff is very hit or miss and parking can be difficult for a larger event. That all being said, Laurel Hall is still one of our favorite places to hold or attend upscale events.

As a photographer we are always delighted to hear when our couples choose Laurel Hall. This beautiful estate with it’s perfectly manicured grounds and gorgeous natural light is truly one of my favorites in Indianapolis. -Danielle Harris Photography –
