While towing a 53ft semi trailer and attempting to make a wide right turn almost 100ft long!! This driver refused to back up the 2 feet that I needed to clear the turn and not take out the light pole at 38th & Emerson! After cussing me out and refusing to back up she whipped the bus around me yelling and cussing, flipping me the finger as she passed! Indygo should be ashamed of roadraging drivers behind the wheels of their busses! With no one behind her in her designated buss lane she simply refused the task of reversing causing a massive back up in traffic ! Just more ratchet behavior from undertrained staff.

Not exactly sure if This bus belongs to this transit Center, but she is an extremely unskilled driver and almost hit a car when she did not have the right away. This picture was taken in Beech Grove. 10/20/2025, at 1:11 PM. The sign for the bus set back to transit center so whoever this driver is should probably be fired considering she is not paying attention while she is driving, throwing up hand signs such as the middle finger towards a driver who had the right of way, she needs her driving skills reevaluated promptly. She is a very. Unsafe and inconsiderate driver she is more than likely, risking the lives if we were stepping on the bus The bus number as provided in the photo is H 2507

Sweet Sinay's Reviews

The Transit Center is a convenient hub downtown for all city buses. Living on the east side, this means that I must go downtown to the transit centre in order to visit points north or south (or even points east that are out of realistic walking distance). The staff is generally friendly and kind although they play by the rules and don't tolerate exceptions. This comes with the public transportation territory, I suspect. The restrooms are hardly anything special but acceptable (better than at the nearby Greyhound station, for sure). Pro Tip Having recently used the Cincinnati public bus network, most disappointedly, I realise anew the importance and value of the IndyGo buses being largely on time and dependable.

Great Transit Center in a great location. It is located right in the middle of downtown and has lots of buses that go every direction. The staff are helpful when you needed help with the routes or the schedules. The vending machines for the bus passes are easy to use. There's plenty of seating areas and overall it's a great location and very convenient.

They have a monopoly. This is illegal in itself. But they just doubled fare. Why? Bus drivers are the rudest I've seen anywhere. And most of them drive like maniacs. They don't know the bus schedule is or how to get anywhere. Most of them can't turn a corner to save their lives. Buses are in horrible condition and should not be allowed to be on the road. There's no excuse. Would never recommend to anyone. They should be sued because monopolies are illegal.

Wish the walkways were wider. It's a pain walking through there to get to your bus when there are a lot of people. Poorly designed.

Raising the bus fare and making me double the amount I need to get back and forth to work which takes money away from my babies needs the busses are for us broke people and tou gonna raise it damn near 50%. do better. and dont get me started on on the bus driver. rude, drive crazy, brake happy, or just hate their job (dont get me wrong theres alot that are great. I have my favorites)

I cannot say enough good things about this caring transportation company. They are genuine and caring, efficient, courteous and fun to see every single day. I have been meaning to post a glowing review for months now and finally, unfortunately, we won't need their services for my family member anymore. You will surely be missed and I wish each of you the very best in your life! Thank you Thank you for making my family member safe and happy in your care to and from daycare! Teresa

My husband has cancer and due to a leg partially amputated and vision issues, he cannot drive himself. Last summer, when other services were unreliable, Arbor Village got my husband to all his chemo and radiation appointments. The staff are all so friendly and respectful to us and I cannot imagine a better company to depend on. They are the best in Indianapolis!

Tavares Smith Sr

The only reason they get 1 star is the wonderful woman that runs the front counter in the morning. I had to watch a driver kick a passenger off for requesting the driver not touch her, be over 4 hours late and miss my connecting bus, be told I would have to pay for a room in a state im unfamiliar with because no busses would be going my way until the next day, and have a driver treat a bus full of adults like child hostages, not to mention couldn't be let off the bus because the driver was on a power trip unlike any ive seen except for when I worked for a behavioral/ psychiatric facility. Some may have better experiences but those i rode with were all appalled. Maybe they make it up…. ill keep you all updated. It does have a beautiful view

Definitely not the prettiest bus or train station ive been to, but also not the worst. The staff here does a good job of keeping things in line and making sure that you make it go your bus. The cleanliness varies here, sometimes its great, other times not so much. They have vending machines, hot food, and even some jewelry. It has a decent location, but sometimes there's some suspicious activity. I will also say that greyhound in general varies, there are some pretty nice buses and questionable ones to.

I had a very unprofessional experience with security at the Greyhound station at 5:55 AM on 12/23/25. The female security guard approached me with a rude tone asking whether I had a ticket. I answered yes, and she bluntly said, "Can I see it," then proceeded to read the entire ticket without explaining where to go or offering any guidance at all. When I calmly asked if she was okay, she gave a long, uncomfortable stare and then responded, "I’m good, more than blessed," in a very sarcastic, dismissive way. She continued displaying a snobby attitude and openly gossiping with her security coworker afterward. Security should make travelers feel safe and respected, not uncomfortable or belittled…especially early in the morning when people are already stressed. This interaction was unnecessary and unprofessional.

Sweet Sinay's Reviews

If you want cheap, you get cheap. It is as simple as that. The Indianapolis Greyhound Bus Station is hardly a gem but for what it is, it is not too bad. I have definitely been in worse Greyhound Bus Stations. They have a working charging station (plenty have charging stations that don't function), a reasonably nice snack shop/restaurant, vending machines, a pretty clean waiting area and relatively friendly staff. Not too bad for Greyhound. I would have given 4 stars but the restrooms were out of order so we had to use portable toilets set up outside. But 3 out of 5 ain't bad! Pro Tip There is an Amtrak station connected to the bus stop but the trains only run 3 times a week. Don't waste your time on dear old Amtrak.

Was supposed to have 50 minute delay. Ended up no bus showed up. So extended 5.5 hours. Still no bus. Extended 2.5 hour. A driver came in and someone took her bus so the bus we got on went 10 minutes and we were told the brakes were bad.The place was filthy, people sleeping on the floors. Bathroom was disgusting with no toilet paper. Supervisor came in and was exceptionally mean to the customer. Was yelling, would not give answers to questions. Mind you, this was 12 hours after our scheduled bus was supposed to leave. Had to buy another ticket to make sure I would get on next bus to my destination. They packed the bus full to get everyone on. The bus was so hot people were sweating. No leg room. Dirty bus. They left one girl behind, she was running and everyone was telling the driver. But he left without her anyway. Bus drivers were rude also. If you don't like the job and do not want to deal with people who are paying for the service, my recommendation is QUIT. Pay the extre, book ahead and fly or take amtrak.Greyhound should be shut down.

Spleen

Buses are falling apart, very very rough ride, drive speak very rude and speak extremely poor English, very hard to get direction, if you can even find a bus terminal that's maned…. I believe I'll try Amtrak next time. Everything on the bus sounds like it's going to fall off!

Safe, well staffed and secure. Plenty of security and good police presence. Features a reasonably priced clean concession stand with burgers, dogs, drinks etc. and many vending machines. Nothing fancy but clean restrooms, floor and seating area. If you’re looking for something else to eat or drink and have some time, there are several fast food places across the street.

I can’t say enough good things about Royal Transportation and our driver, Rick Miller! After a difficult situation with another company, Rick stepped in and truly saved the day by agreeing to drive us back to Chicago. Not only was Rick an amazing driver, but he’s also an incredible human being. We spent three non-stop hours talking about everything, and he made the journey feel like a breeze. January 30, 2026 Incident happened at the Indiana Fairgrounds Bus Stop at approximately 7:10 am. Please instruct your bus drivers to slow down and remain in designated bus lanes. If "bus lanes" are enforced so strictly that cars are penalized for entering them, it is equally important that buses stay out of car lanes. This morning at approximately 7:10 a.m., Bus #2391 nearly struck my vehicle when it suddenly moved into my lane. They didn’t signal to communicate they were cutting me off. There was no apparent reason for this maneuver-the snow had been cleared, traffic was flowing normally, and there were no obstructions that would have required the bus to leave its lane. The sudden lane change created a dangerous situation and put my safety at risk. From what I could tell, the action was unnecessary and reckless. I am concerned that the driver may have been distracted. Please take the safety of other drivers seriously and ensure your operators follow traffic rules and operate their vehicles responsibly. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I am 21 years old. Today is 12/29/25. I called customer service and I talked to a girl who was near my age, she was very rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. I called back and talked to a women who was older, and was she was able to help be understand the system was down. Indygo is not reliable, especially during the winter months. Older employees know what they are doing. Trust them over the younger ones.

I wish buses were either closer to scheduled times; or likely more achievable, they were more accurately synchronized with real time Google Maps data. (Missing a bus that apparently departed early is especially annoying.) Photos are of Julia Carson Transit Center, reviewed separately by me.

The only issue I had with the Redline here for the past few days as of last week, Apparently they were thrown off schedule due to obviously a delay for unknown reasons, Causing delay's schedule times.. However it's been a few days so hopefully they're back on schedule again..

I've been here many times. I love the way it's designed, especially the letter designations for the different stops. As long as you know your alphabet you shouldn't have any trouble transferring buses. The people who end up hanging around downtown are generally not going to bother you. Don't forget that we're all just a paycheck or two from homelessness.

April Priest ☆ 4/5

WORST. BUS SYSTEM. EVER. Lots of nice cosmetic changes, including so-called "rapid" routes that are little more than dedicated bus lanes with spiffed-up shelter stops and extra-long buses that run every ten minutes. Meanwhile, you have bus drivers who couldn't care less about schedule adherence, causing riders to miss transfers and sometimes get stranded downtown. Riding the bus takes forever – a commute to work that takes fifteen or twenty minutes on I-465 takes three hours one way, so my husband and I effectively spend 35 hours a week RIDING THE BUS to our full-time job and back. The buses (which are often decrepit, aside from the Red and Purple lines, which, of course, always look fantastic) have hard, uncomfortable seats, terrible climate control, and often carry loud, rude passengers, not that the drivers care about anything like that, any more than they care about schedule adherence. Once I was riding a bus home and the driver casually stopped the bus to buy and munch on some fried chicken from KFC… Seriously?!? Oh, and now there's going to be a rate hike. Of course… I've lived in several cities and a couple of small towns, and even tiny little Massillon, OH had better bus service than Indianapolis. IndyGo is a disgrace to our city. Then there's the transit center itself, which often has utterly filthy bathrooms (better carry your own soap – even when the bathrooms have actually been cleaned, they are utterly devoid of soap or even hand sanitizer – someone ought to report this to OSHA) and is plagued by security problems. Fights break out on a regular basis there after 7 pm or so. It's not a pleasant place to have to wait for a transfer. IndyGo knows they're the only game in town, and only people who are utterly desperate and have no choice but to use the bus system will willingly ride IndyGo, so why should they even try to improve?

I was very pleased with the information provided by a Cicoa employee. His name is David Teague. He was very knowledgeable helpful, and pleasant. I had questions about a program, and he thoroughly answered every answer and addressed my concerns. I wanted to leave him a good review because it seems like it's hard to get good customer service nowadays, and I like to share positive feedback about employees when they are exemplary of good customer service. We always blame the inexperienced driver for unskilled stupid moves on the road. In the parking lot. But this is an experienced driver who parked in the NO PARKING AREA at the pilot pumps IN FRONT OF THE PUMPS. So he can go to the Waffle house and have a meal. Ya. I had to wait. Or I would have hit the back of his flatbed. Ok. But it’s this type of driver that will be very aggressive if you get in his way. Ya pilot management announced several times. Pls move your trucks but they couldn’t hear. They were at the waffle house Hey. Boss of VTI. noon March 5. Your best most reliable driver was fuelling at address below. I have used this service a lot for my brother and have had no bad experiences until today. The driver that was sent was 15 minutes late picking us up for his appointment. All of the other drivers that we’ve had were always on time and very courteous and friendly. This driver was non verbal and not friendly at all. One person can give a company a bad reputation. 5/13/2025 Since my last post I have nothing but good service from this company. Tracy is a joy to ride with. He makes sure that my brother is secure before we leave. We have great conversations during our trip. I would highly recommend this company. I wanted to update this post.

UPDATE: Called in yesterday and spoke with Shawn. I know he was busy, but please be mindful and don't cut clients off, and DON'T HANG UP ON THEM without saying thank you or goodbye. That's rude as hell. 2 Stars because of Shawn. ORIGINAL POST: My mother and used this company the other day for a appointment. I'm not sure about the other drivers or other dispatchers, but I can tell you that Mrs. Leah was a GEM!! She was so nice, personable (and I usually don't like to talk much), and got us there safe. I'm really glad we had her for the trip there and back. I think I'll call in Monday just to let them know as well. So Mrs. Leah, thank you for your kindness. You are MUCH appreciated!! 😀 UPDATE- 2.24.2020 Today we had Mr. Jimmy. Super nice, personable and got us to and from our destination safe and on time. Need to call in tomorrow and talk with owner. I hate that others have had bad experiences, but I consider us lucky for sure. Thank you Mr. Jimmy for taking care of us today!

This is my preferred w/c transportation company. I’ve set up hundreds of appointments for my patients and can’t recall a single bad experience. They always answer the phone quickly, are friendly and helpful, their drivers are very kind, safe, and reliable. Makes the transportation process very smooth. Thank you for always taking care of my Maple Park residents!

I had the best experience with this company last month and am just getting around to posting my review: they were very professional, friendly and set excellent expectations. There were no hidden fees or unmet expectations, arriving shortly before they said they would. Leah, our driver, did an excellent job! Honestly, I have a hard time believing the 1 star ratings I saw on this, especially after the extremely poor performance of a cab service (see my Yelp review).

I never give reviews, but this time I need to. This company is reliable and drivers are fine, however, if you have fragrance issues, DO NOT use this service. The fragrance in the van that picked me up was so awful and overwhelming, it made me sick, gave me a headache, made me nauseated and stuck to my clothes when I got out. This is not something one wants or needs to deal with on the trip back after a procedure, let alone when you are feeling fine. Could stand to clean the vans too, then maybe they wouldn't need the fragrance.

Need a Lift came in during my time of need! I'm currently wheelchair bound and without a car but needed assistance getting to an appointment. They were so prompt and helpful! I cannot recommend them enough!

This company has very poor customer service most of their representatives are clueless and the rest are rude and unprofessional. They provide NEMT with a company called TCS and they are short staffed they make you late to most of your appointments, they assign trips to their driver and then take them back before they can pick you up so you left stranded. They ask you if your trip is a return trip but yet they won't let you schedule your return you have to call in each time you're ready to be picked up. Then they tell you that it will be within an hour before your driver can come. I have requested a preferred provider which they never giaasign my trio to they always give it to their company who is short drivers. Unfortunately LCP is who my health insurance company has contract with. Hopefully the state will not renew their contract if they don't improve

I hate MHS made the switch to WellTrans. LCP was the best transportation. Especially transportation concierge service!! TCS has the best drives. WellTrans does not know how to schedule rides based on the service needed. Me and my kids miss TCS drivers! Megan was our daily driver we miss her! A switch back needs to be made.

Update: 10/13/25 Nothing has changed. I guess that's how it is when you have a government contract and you are the only one doing the transporting. There's no competition to keep these people on their toes. Bottom of the barrel service. I wish I could give a negative 10, considering the company is supposed to pick up and drop off clients for doctor appointments. I would think that would be something they would think it's important, but I guess there are no consequences for their actions. First time, I was taken to my appointment in a timely manner, but they couldn't pick me up for an 1 hour and 45 minutes. And then they had to get a Lyft. This morning I had an appointment and it was hard for them to reach the driver. After 18 minutes they told me they would have to find me an alternative ride. I have 30 minutes to get to my appointment. I told them while booking my ride, I didn't want a Lyft ride, because I am disabled and may not be able to bend my leg to get in the car, but I guess they don't write these things down, for future reference. I asked the person on the phone, how many chances does this company have to stress out and make their clients miss their appointments. Of course they couldn't tell me. But I guess when you have a contract locked in with a billion dollar company, people don't matter.

I have just had Oralsurgery And I was not informed of picking up another client. The driver was told to drop me off and then pick Pick up the client. Because of driving Known the client, she decided to pick client up. And drop the line out first. I was supposed to go pick up my medication, but I didn’t have my purse and I didn’t have any money To pay for my medication.. The driving tell me she only had the address to PHARMACY and I told her just take me home. It took two hours to get had home and the Driver was on the phone the whole time she was driving hitting every bump in the street Including potholes. When I Voiced my opinion, she turned the radio up on me..my mouth was bleeding profusely and blood was everywhere. I was treated unfairly because I should’ve been taken home and not detained. I Felt unsafe because she’s on the phone. Will we arrive at my house? She asked did I need money for my medication it was truly unbelievable. I told her no it was like a slap in the face. Please get home cause I can feel Pain and I was very weak for the surgery. I have never been treated so disrespectful in my life.

My daughter had an appointment today woke up at 7am to get both of us ready. We were bathe and had breakfast by 9am. Ride was supposed to be there at 930. 10:08 rolls around and no one has contacted me (they were sending Lyft) called the number and they tell me the driver was there an hour ago and called me. Checked my call log no calls. He goes forward to say that he called me twice. He also says they sent another driver out who called me as well. Me staring at my call log as he lies 😮. This is the worst company ever. I've been dealing with this for 10 years. 8 figured they would have it fixed by now but now it's always the same. The doctors don't even want to make appointments because it's notated that you are a no show to appointments because of them. I am highly upset that my daughter not only missed school but we got up and dressed to sit in the house and waste a whole morning away waiting for them to arrive.

I set up rides in advance. Then I call and confirm the ride both the day before and the day of and they confirm the ride and then they call an hour or two later and cancel it. This costs $25 dollars each each time that you don’t show up and since I’m on government insurance because I’m broke that causes plenty of issues. I also noticed on here how out of a 5 point scale for service and reliability they only scored a 2. What does that say about them and the kind of service they provide? It says they’re not reliable and they have no concern for doing what their company is supposed to do. That’s LCP Transportation!

Frequently asked questions about transportation services for seniors in Indianapolis

What types of transportation services are available for seniors in Indianapolis?

Senior transportation options in Indianapolis encompass a variety of services designed to meet diverse needs. These include demand-response transportation, offering flexible scheduling for errands and appointments; fixed-route transit, utilizing the IndyGo bus system; specialized transportation programs catering to specific populations like veterans or individuals with disabilities; and volunteer driver programs provided by local organizations. Understanding the available options is the first step in finding suitable support.

How do I access demand-response transportation?

Accessing demand-response transportation typically involves registering with a specific agency or provider. The process usually involves providing proof of age, identification, and information about the type of service needed. Scheduling is generally done in advance, either over the phone or online, and the service is provided on a call-for-ride basis, adapting to the rider’s specific destination. Eligibility criteria can vary between providers.

What are the eligibility requirements for IndyGo services?

IndyGo’s services, particularly the reduced fares for seniors, are subject to certain eligibility requirements. Generally, riders must be age 65 or older. Proof of age may be requested, and there may be limitations on the frequency of use or geographic area covered. It’s advisable to check the current fare structure and guidelines on the IndyGo website for the most up-to-date information.

Are there transportation services specifically for people with disabilities?

Yes, several specialized transportation services cater to individuals with disabilities in Indianapolis. These services often include wheelchair-accessible vehicles, trained drivers, and assistance with boarding and disembarking. Programs like the Indianapolis Transit Authority’s (ITA) paratransit system and collaborations with local non-profits provide crucial mobility support for those with mobility impairments.

What are the costs associated with different transportation services?

Transportation costs vary considerably depending on the type of service and the provider. Demand-response services often have a per-ride fee or a monthly subscription, while IndyGo offers reduced fares for seniors. Some specialized programs may have sliding scale fees based on income level, and grants may be available to assist with costs. Researching and comparing fare structures is recommended.

How far in advance do I need to schedule transportation?

Scheduling requirements differ depending on the transportation service. Demand-response services usually require scheduling at least 24-48 hours in advance, while fixed-route transit allows for more spontaneous travel. Some programs may have shorter scheduling windows, particularly for urgent appointments or emergencies. It's always best to check the specific provider's policies.

What documentation do I need to provide when requesting a ride?

Depending on the service, you may need to provide documentation such as a proof of age (driver’s license, birth certificate), identification (driver’s license, state ID), and medical authorization if required for specialized services. Providing accurate and complete information ensures a smooth and efficient service experience. Contacting the provider beforehand to confirm required documents is advised.

Are there transportation services available for medical appointments?

Absolutely. Several transportation services are specifically designed to assist seniors with getting to and from medical appointments. This can include demand-response services, specialized programs focused on healthcare transportation, and volunteer driver programs often coordinated through hospitals and clinics. Coordination with the healthcare provider can facilitate seamless transportation arrangements.

How do volunteer driver programs work in Indianapolis?

Volunteer driver programs rely on community members who donate their time and vehicles to provide transportation to seniors. These programs are usually coordinated through local non-profit organizations and rely heavily on volunteer recruitment and matching riders with drivers. Riders typically fill out a request form detailing their destination and needs, and a volunteer driver is assigned to fulfill the ride.

Where can I find more information about senior transportation options in Indianapolis?

You can find comprehensive information about senior transportation services in Indianapolis through several resources. These include the City of Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development, the IndyGo Transit website, local senior centers, and various non-profit organizations dedicated to serving the senior community. Contacting these organizations will provide access to specific program details and eligibility requirements.
