This was my second time there in about 20 years and my experience was just as pleasant as the first visit! The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. The entire process took about a half an hour including picking and ordering new glasses from the time of checking in with my insurance. Such a smooth, organized, not rushed but quick process! 10/10 would recommend to any and everyone.

I love Dr. Tavel on Lafayette Road. I’ve been going there for years. I also go there because it’s closer to my area. I don’t have any complaints. I just wish that they would have a lot more frame selection.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Dr. Tavel! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. Chris checked me in quickly and was so friendly, setting the tone for a great visit. His welcoming attitude immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease.

Heather truly went above and beyond with her top-tier customer service. She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping me find the perfect pair of glasses. She took the time to understand my style and needs, making sure I walked away with frames that I absolutely love. On top of that, she guided me through the process of purchasing contacts, ensuring everything was seamless and stress-free. Her kindness and expertise made such a difference!

I also want to highlight the amazing doctor who assisted me—unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name, but she was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and kind. She took the time to explain everything clearly, answer my questions, and make sure I felt confident in my vision care.

The entire team at Dr. Tavel made me feel like family, not just another customer. Their level of care, professionalism, and genuine kindness is unmatched. It’s rare to find a place where every single person is so dedicated to making your experience exceptional, but that’s exactly what you get here. Very poor and unprofessional customer service skills. Firstly, we waited 20-25 mins to be addressed (when it was an scheduled appointment). Secondly, waited another 30 minutes after exam for the rep to schedule an eye surgery THAT WE DID NOT ASK HER TO DO! I told her she does not know my availability, so we will take care of it. Fast forward a week or two, we are contacted about a surgery that was SCHEDULED on a date that DOES NOT work for us, which we will be canceling. I don’t believe that was showing good customer service skills nor blatantly disregarding what someone is asking you NOT TO DO! I wish my clients/family did not have to continue to go here.

The second I stepped in the music was playing very inappropriate music that was not sensored. They seemed more interested in gabbing with each other and sharing stuff on their phones than doing their actual jobs. It was like I wasn’t even there. First they couldn’t find my account because she didn’t have my name right. I had to explain that I had been to a Dr. Tavel’s location, just not that one. Zero professionalism. Everything about the appointment was just strange. Will not be back.

I had a great experience from the beginning until the end of my visit. Customer service and the Doctor were both amazing!

If you go here needing a simple service, or even a check in.. Evette is whom will help you in a jiffy. I waited for some time and no one asked if I needed help. Evette got me in. Fixed my glasses and sent me on my way. She is the best. And I’d recommend asking for her before wasting your time with anyone else. They will drag their feet before they ask if you need help. Evette was the best because she was kind and fast. Thank you Dr. Tavel ♥️

Dangerous doctors office for disabled people.

I have lupus. I take plaquenil to treat my lupus. As part of taking plaquenil I need to get frequent eye exams and a HCQ exam to make sure plaquenil isn’t effecting my eyes. I get my yearly eye exam done at this location and the doctor says to come back in November for the HCQ exam. I miss the offices call to schedule this initially.

I find out from my rheumatologist I need this HCQ exam to get my medication refilled. The receptionist lies and tells my doctors office I never showed up for the exam (that was never even scheduled.) So now I’m completely out of medication and can’t get a refill until I have this exam done.

I try calling to schedule this exam. The receptionist has zero idea what I’m talking about and keeps assuming I want a yearly eye exam. Yesterday she puts me on hold and comes back to say my insurance won’t cover something it’s always covered but someone will call me back. They never do. Today I call again, and learn that this specific Dr tavels apparently doesn’t have the equipment needed to do this eye exam that every other eye doctor I’ve ever been to (even Walmart) has in their office and I need to go to a different location.

Really cool how everyone there knew what exam I needed to have done when I was there and when my doctors office called them but now everyone is confused and the “medical professionals” have never heard of the drug that can effect your eyes and the test you need for it.

SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. I have made 4 appointments within a year time frame with a Doctor at this location and all 4 times the location has called the day before after having the appointment set for WEEKS to cancel the appointment because the Doctor decides he isnt going to come in that day. I understand things happen, but this has occurred NUMEROUS times. So unprofessional!!

This was my first visit with Dr. Tavel and I must say I was impressed! I previously went to a local eye dr. I won’t say their name but I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with my experience and the product! Switching to Dr. Tavel was a great choice! I was greeted with great customer service. The specialist was very polite and courteous at the same time professional! The entire process was smooth and easy! It was a busy morning there and I didn’t have to wait long at all. I especially liked how the Specialist walked and talked me through the entire process from start to finish. I’m very satisfied with my experience with this location and will definitely be back! However, the only thing I can remotely say that I didn’t like is how long I have to wait for my new glasses which was quoted at 3-4 weeks! I can’t wait that long, LOL! Go see Dr. Tavel on S. East St. In Indianapolis for your eyes ! Thanks staff at the East St location!

Made an appointment and took off work to go to it, only to be told when I got there that the girl didn’t schedule it. They had record of my call and insurance check but she didn’t schedule the appointment. Waste of time and lost money taking off work.

Everyone was friendly and helpful the Dr was very thorough with what was going on with the change in my prescription

I was running late to my appointment and called to reschedule. Instead of giving me a later date, the young lady located a later appointment on the same day. They had me update my info, gave me a thorough exam and provided a referral to another specialist. I was pleased with their attention to all my issues. All staff were pleasant and professional. Excellent visit.

Dr Walker & his staff are on top of their game. Very knowledgeable, polite & on time. All of my questions were answered. Pleasant environment in the office. Glad to finally find the Silhouette eyeglasses that are my favorite. Definitely coming back!

Infinity Eye is wonderful. The front staff made checking in & updating my insurance very simple. The support staff made the testing process quick & Dr Snyder explained everything in terms easily understood.

I was able to get my 7 year old daughter scheduled for an eye appointment within a couple days of my call. The staff we encountered were all friendly. The office was very clean. Dr. Snyder was professional and took time to answer my questions.

Dr. Snyder was phenomenal! He was able to get my son in right away after an eye injury. He solved the problem and was very informative throughout the entire process. The whole staff was friendly and helpful, we are very grateful to have found this place!

The exam here was disappointing. Most of it was done by an assistant, and Dr. Snyder only gave a brief review without a thorough check. The prescription I received resulted in two pairs of unusable lenses. I later went to another eye doctor who personally examined me and gave me a completely different prescription that worked. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice.

Appointment started very promptly upon my arrival (with no long waits during the appointment). Very up-to-date testing and diagnostic equipment–and personnel know how to use it. Dr. Snyder (Mark) was generous with his time in discussing how some eye drops worked on my eye issues. Very clear and thorough explanation. It really helped me understand how to get the best results from the drops. 🙂

Family owned business that I have went to for years. I know several people that also go here.. Services always very professional. Dr Herkert is very patient and answers all questions.. Totally trust his care. Shelley is the best at helping me pick out new glasses. All the staff are friendly, professional and kind.

Dr. Herkert has been my eye doc for nearly 20 years. He can give you as much technical information as needed (I prefer to geek out) or just tell you everything is fine, in an easily digestible way. He stays on the cutting edge of tech, offers many solutions for your care, and is extremely personable. His staff to date have always been kind, caring, and attentive. Dakota, Taylor, and Alexis are fantastic to work with and always carry a bright smile.

Dr Herkert is incredible. His knowledge combined with his interest in the best possible outcome for his patients is evident with each visit. My extended family has gone to him for years and we will continue to. His staff is also so kind and they all go the extra mile daily! Love them all!

Yesterday when I went in for my apt I was depressed and afraid. The staff greeted me like I was an old friend! Dr. Herkert treated me like a valuable patient or maybe even a valued friend! I went to Dr tavel’s yesterday and was greeted by Roxie. From the moment I encountered this lady I could tell that she really liked her job and wanted to help me. I have a very petite face and it is hard to find glasses to fit me.. she actually came up with three or four pairs to choose from. I have yet to make my decision but I definitely will be back

Don’t waste your time here. My daughter got glasses from here and for well over a month she kept saying she couldn’t see. Finally got an appointment for her to go back and they had measured her eye wrong so her prescription was not in the right place on her glasses. I recently got glasses from them and something is wrong with my glasses as well. They probably measured wrong again. They have awful construction in front of their building so I was a few minutes late. No one was in the waiting room, completely empty other than employees, and they said they no longer have a grace period for appointments so would not be able to see me. Worse than the doctors office. I can wait 15 to 20 minutes to see them, but I can’t be five minutes late? Just ridiculous. Will be finding a new eye doctor.

This was my first time getting a professional eye exam for my kids. My daughter needed glasses and the Dr was very thorough in explaining to me her care. Also everyone that worked there was very sweet and Ashley helped to get my daughters glasses expedited in time because my daughter was leaving for Flordia for a month. Highly recommend this place for eye care needs!

Had an issue at a different Tavel, so I decided to visit the Fishers team on 96th street. I was helped by Abby Renken, and she helped correct the issue I had. She was courteous, professional and helped me in a timely manner. I recommend this store if you’re in the area.

I have been going to dr.tavel for a long time but, my latest experience at the 96th street location was exceptional. It began with Roxie helping me get setup for my exam she was wonderful, she was cheerful and extremely friendly. Then Flavio and Aiden was very thorough and understanding with my daughter and I couldn’t ask for better treatment.

The front office girls are soooo kind and helpful! Dr. Swift was very knowledgeable! He put my mind at ease about a lot of things and took the time to explain everything to me. Overall it was one of the best experiences I’ve had at an Eye Doctor in a long time!!!

Dr Wendorff is amazing! He has such a calm demeanor, he’s very thorough, and I really appreciate him squeezing me in for a gash to my pupil by my infant. Staff are also great. Highly recommend this office!

Horrible Customer Service!!!! I had booked appts online. They cancelled the appts with NO notification. They claimed they tried to call, a phone number I didn’t enter when scheduling the appt, but they could have looked at my acct to get a correct phone number given that we’ve been a customer for ~5 years. I called to see if they could get us worked in, given that they cancelled standing appts (that were confirmed via email). Cassandra was rude and not helpful. Lenscrafters should partner with a better physician.

The office was freezing cold for an elderly person that is painfully uncomfortable. The facility is difficult to get into with a person on a walker or rolator it is a long distance from the ramp to the door. The ramp is conveniently located in front of the smoothie king. I would think smoothie king also has a drive through. We waited at least 30 min and the staff couldn’t find the insurance on your computer. I easliy called the insurance to verify the insurance. I will now file my own claim

I felt rushed..I was on time and my paperwork was complete..but I just felt dr wendorff was overbooked or something..Hopefully my prescription is correct..

Chase was extraordinarily professional and thorough and her eye exam. I’ve been coming here for years and every year I’ve had a different resident or intern and they’ve all been phenomenal. I appreciate Dr. Krenk coming in the room fir a quick follow-up, ensuring that nothing was overlooked. The front of the house staff have always been welcoming, accommodating, and friendly. This is what you’d expect from most any Healthcare office. Here, I’ve gotten this kind of service every time for years.

I took my mom there for some low vision analysis and it was a complete waste of time. They had zero options other than the normal which we already have. Half the magnifying glasses with flashlights did not have working batteries so a waste to try. Supervisor came in and asked if we understood macular degeneration, I said yes we do have been seeing a specialist for over 5 years. Still wasted 10 minutes telling me what I already knew then had the nerve to talk about audio books for 10 minutes. No solution for my mom at all.

The personnel and examiner as well as the doctor were very thorough and professional and answered all my questions. The gave me suggestions on my eye care. This is a great place.

Gus was an excellent representative of IU and its Indianapolis Eye Care Center. His abilities to communicate the procedures and results are outstanding. As a patient, I am happy to know that I am receiving the greatest care and support with the latest in eye health care knowledge and technology. Although, the visit was conducted by a student, the process was overseen by Dr. Page, who confirmed the test results and diagnosis during the concluding consultation.

Crossroads Eye Care has a very dedicated, experienced staff and a nice location. Even for people not nearby it’s a reasonable trip due to proximity to several highways. I’ve been with my doctor for ages and followed him here from a prior company when they discontinued operation. The ladies who help fit and adjust glasses are very good at it and as I’m pretty careless at times I keep them busy too! Everyone is very caring.

This us a group of friendly professionals who are timely with the service being provided. Each step of the process is explained, you are not rushed and your questions are appreciated.

Pricing is explained, and the turn around time to receive your glasses is within reason.

I have always had a great experience here. I have seen 2 of the Optometrists over the years, and so have my older children. It’s always a very pleasant and welcoming experience. And they are very helpful with my glasses and contacts. All of their staff are wonderful and kind.

I have been a patient of Dr Candida for many years. He isa wonderful person and an excellent doctor. I highly recommend him. He is personable, honest, knowledgeable and thorough.

Trying to get the MEDICAL RECORDS and IMAGES for my mother from this place so that we can bring physical copies to her New Primary Care Doctor and so far they have only given us the run around.

1. They refused to give physical copies same day as her appointment.
2. They promised to email MEDICAL RECORDS and IMAGES to my personal email on the day of the appointment and I have received them. They said the manager could do it.
3. Calling them today I got conflicting information. “we can only fax or give physical copies” I was told and then told that the IMAGES and MEDICAL RECORDS could be emailed by the manager.
4. When I asked what day of the week they were the least busy I was told everyday is busy and it hit or miss. When my we were there for my mom’s appointment there were 6 employees out on the sales floor, and 2 doctors in the back with no other clients or patients except us for the majority of the time. There was only 1 other at the end. Why wasn’t it done then?

Why were we refused physical copies of MEDICAL RECORDS and IMAGES the same day?!
WHO IS LYING HERE?????

Frankly, I don’t care about how busy things are! Your manager can send the MEDICAL RECORDS and IMAGES before eating lunch! THIS IS A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH!!!! My mother could die from an infection straight to her heart if we don’t have the information at the time we see BOTH doctors that will need to convince her that her sight won’t be getting better and that she needs to get a permanent port in her arm! I CANNOT AFFORD TO RISK SOMEONE MESSING UP!!! THIS IS OUR FAIL SAFE!!!!

From the moment we walked in, the entire staff was warm and welcoming. I had booked a dual appointment for my mother and me, and they were incredibly accommodating throughout the entire process. The young woman who handled our paperwork and the one who conducted the preliminary exam were both professional, kind, and genuinely hilarious, making the experience even more enjoyable. The doctor was not only extremely knowledgeable but also personable and easy to talk to. Overall, it was a wonderful visit, and I truly appreciate the level of care and attention we received.

Excellent optometrist: well studied, experienced, and very much a student of human behavior (I mean, literally an inch from your face: gotta be good at relaxing some…)
And the rest of the staff!! Awesome!!! And though it may seem otherwise, I reserve that word for truly exceptional. These folks know what they’re talking about, read customers with simple grace, and are honest.
Let me repeat that. If asked, the opinion is honest. If you’ve a question, they’ll guide you through genuine understanding of the topics/aspects related to that question. So, yes: they ARE HONEST!
My experience with now 3 Visionworks has consistently met and exceeded my expectations.

Yesterday was my first time visiting a Visionworks location, I took my daughter there for glasses and contacts. The process was smooth and the team was helpful. The Dr was friendly, knowledgeable and kind. The staff helped tremendously, We will be back!

Family type environment, friendly staff, large selection of glasses to choose from, excellent service and the doctor who cares, thorough who went above and beyond my expectations to help my specific eyecare needs.

I think it’s better to purchase glasses online. You have to pay a lot of money out-of-pocket. I had insurance and still had to pay $60 for the exam. The glasses online have great quality and are way more fashionable, but cost much less. I like Visionworks but they are on the expensive side.

The staff is always smiling, courteous and very helpful.
Marsha went above and beyond not only fixing my old glasses but also working with me on the best way and most affordable to get 2 pairs and the upgrades I needed.
