Best clothing stores in Indianapolis: find options near you

T.J MAXX is the best thing I’ve ever been to in Indianapolis. It has the best items I’ve been looking for. I kinda wish that they have some more colored no show socks besides black and white.

Just went to this store this morning: July 4th 2025…what a hot mess! There was a load of kids in their making a ruckus and being super loud! They left and back to my shopping I went. Store has zero inventory in women’s jeans or even juniors for that matter…a larger lady (employee with a bun of braids) was rude and told me to move in a ill mannered way. Went to the fitting room to try on jeans and look at the dust!!!! It’s so untidy and gross!
I made my purchase of undies, socks and toiletries and left. If I never go back I’d not be offended! Management must be in a back office scratching their bellies. Store is disheveled!
If you want to shop here, wear an air mask….its nasty!

This is a lovely place to find hidden gems. Inventory changes constantly, as is the premise of the store, which I love, but prepare to spend a few hours here. I like to spend time here when my husband is in the city for work. I get lost in the hunt for something great. Unique finds, trendy bags, shoes and clothes. Many options in hygiene, cosmetics and accessories. It does not affect me, but this is designed more for women, I believe, who like to shop. Not a huge selection for men. They also have a large selection of home goods, pet items, and coffee syrups!!! (Cheaper than any other store around). So, if you have a few hours and are not looking for something specific, come to this location and take your time. The store employees are helpful, courteous, and willing to help.

Pretty big store.
A little weird to navigate. The women’s section is not sectioned off well.
There are almost no high end products. The selection is low end products.
That being said, I found a really good backpack and some clothes. You should always check out what TJ Maxx has to offer. There are always little gems hidden.

I visited on Tuesday April 22 at about 12:30 or so.The young lady on register 6 to be exact was extremely rude! Has terrible customer service skills and should not be taking care of customers if she’s not prepared to be polite and treat customers with dignity. To be handed a receipt without uttering a word and then turned her back on me! Not to mention when I first approached her I purchased two hats that clearly had tags attached she took two minutes to examine tags as if I’ve somehow changed the tag! I felt insulted and disgusted at the same time. I came to Indianapolis and have had a great experience so far I will not let her spoil my first impression! Indianapolis is a great city!

This is my go to store for a nice aesthetic/accessory for a cost efficient price. Especially the shades/cross body section. Thank you to Gloria and Terry for assisting me with my purchases and questions. They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied!

For sure crowded and a bit unorganized but that’s also to be expected. I feel like the staff might hate their lives, haha, but that’s also kind of sad.

Some really good deals. I didn’t realize what I was missing. Found a great price on Prada L’homme and an Izod (shock g style) watch. Under $100 got both.

Great deals and a constantly rotating selection of high quality items. I can’t help but stop everytime I’m nearby, and most times there are at least a few items I’d love to add to my collection. This was the only place I could find my size and color in a Michael Kors pea coat I’d been searching for!

Old Naby, please do better with plus size shirts. Just actually care to fit the measurements that are real for a fuller woman. I wear a 3x in real life and the 3xs fit like a 2x.

Grabbed a shirt off of the “bottom shelf” of the table expecting it to be $5. The staff member was quite sassy telling me that $5 only applied to the top shelf of the table as if I should have known that. It’s fine, I’ll get my kids’ clothing elsewhere if staff is going to be condescending

Pricey for the average quality of clothing. The young girl who checked me out, was less than pleasant. I asked her a question about item prices, she clearly was not interested in actually helping; although she had to due to the camera’s in the store. She would have been more enthusiastic to watch paint dry.

Very pleasant shopping experience! I was greeted at the door and when I needed assistance looking for a certain style (because I was unfamiliar with the layout of this location) Jordyn jumped right in and walked me through my whole purchase.

In addition, she explained the Rewards Program and benefits of becoming a member AND sold me on applying for an Old Navy Credit Card

Have been shopping at OldNavy since before and after they started having plus size clothing. Today I need a dress for a Funeral service and this store has always been my go to place. Well today I went and looked around and no sizes over a 2x in the store. Saw some very nice items that would be wonderful, but none in my size. Spoke with the store clerk and she said that Old Navy stopped stocking 3x and above. She stated that the workers have stopped shopping there also do to the sizes stocked. Please Old Navy don’t make me cut up my Credit Card ……Donna Hayes

My first time to visit this store. Let me start by saying the staff ate extremely kind and helpful. The store is laid out great . The prices are amazing. I will for sure be going back again. The selection of sandles are incredible. They have cute hats and bags to match your shoes. What a fun store.

Shopping for kids’ clothing is a breeze here. They have a wide variety, and keep the store very well organized. Shout Out to entire Citi Trends staff! Very nice.You will have fun.

Citi Trends has a wide range of fashionable clothes at reasonable prices. The shop had a cool vibe, but the staff could have been more friendly and had more fashion knowledge. If the customer service was a little better, this place would be great. I will probably think about shopping here again. Keep doing your best!

I have shopped at this store a few times and it’s one store that actually sales Rick and Morty merchandise which is hard to find unless you buy online. I also bought some of their electronics like a smart watch and a charger for my phone and both items I purchased were broken and didn’t work. On that note, even if it looks like a good deal I suggest it’s best to avoid their electronics as mine were faulty. I give them 3 stars ✨because of this. I love the fact they have Rick and Morty merchandise and will continue going there only to buy that stuff. If you haven’t shopped here I suggest you give it a try you never know what you might find there as their items are discounted at a fair price.

More of a man’s place than a woman’s. However they got a lot of cute clothes in there for both men and women. They have accessories for bathroom bed and bath they have children’s section and toddlers. Pretty cool store you ought to try it out

Came to the store to shop for my girls for back to school because it said that you’ll closed at 9pm online , get to the store @ 8pm & doors were already locked! Very disappointed & highly upset !

I haven’t been able to shop in store, since I live in the Bay Area, but had a great experience shopping with them online. They source quality items and their sizing descriptions are very helpful finding which size to go with. The package came with a handwritten thank you and that was a very thoughtful touch! I’ll be shopping with them again.

If I could rate more than 5 stars I would. I had an issue with a pair of Studio D’Artisan jeans I bought from here, and the team at Dant more than exceeded my expectations to rectify it. You guys rock! Thank you so much!

I have ordered several items from this store, and their selection always amazes me. Their selection of interesting military inspired outerwear is unmatched and I always find cool things to drool over. Well done to the team at the shop, would love to visit one day.

I ordered from James Dant for the first time. I bought a MOMOTARO Kasuri Indigo Dyed Shirt. I love it so much !!! It was an online purchase and James Dant’s website was very helpful with the sizing. The photos, the height of the model, and an explanation about sizing preferences are easy to understand. Based on my emails with the very helpful staff, I ordered a size large. At 6′ tall, 155 pounds, I was worried it was going to be too big, as I usually take a medium, but the shirt fits me perfectly, not too big, not too tight… just right. The quality of the shirt is superlative too. The shipping was fast and the best part is… I got free gummy bears !!! …dang, that might have been on the DL… ssshhh.

I’ve always been impressed with how well-curated this store’s collection is – lot’s of stuff that’s hard to find in the States. Clearly they’ve built a strong reputation with their vendors.

Fulfillment time is lightning fast; items are well packaged and personalized.

Has hardly anything left in the store. Staff ignored me the whole time and was upset when i asked him where something was. Huge waste of gas and the cost of parking. I hope this store closes soon since i have to just get things online anyways.

Love this buisness, the owner is extremely friendly and welcoming. Last time I ordered they even called me to let me know they were shipping that day. It’s great to see an LGBTQ business thriving in a conservative city.

Every time I’ve been I find something new I like. The management is always knowledgeable about how the brands and sizes fit, and can even make recommendations. They always keep, or do their best to keep stock of items that are super popular. They’ll also let you know when items are coming back in stock if you ask! They have a rewards/loyalty program for their customers as well, all you have to do is give your phone number! They do not pester you with texts or calls, but do keep you in the loop on any special deals they have going on, as well as how close you are to your next reward after each visit. 100% recommend this store, great place.

I just left this location and the girl in the black tube top was rude and told me I couldn’t use my $5 off but another girl let my sister use hers – I’ve never had an issue using a $5 off on anything, even sale items but regardless they just need to be consistent about that

Was not in the store one minute, before the female walked over and acted like she was straightening out some clothes on a mannequin ,if that were the case you would have been doing it before me and my daughter walked in. What happened to greeting someone at the door. But instead u walked over to make sure we had no large bags to steal, All black ppl don’t steal ya know, just like I know all white ppl don’t do meth. Won’t return, clothes were not up to par anyway.

Customer service is non existent here. I was not greeted when entering the store. I walked through the entire store twice without anyone saying anything to me. The clearance section looks like a tornado went through it everytime I go in there. Dressing room attendant refused to help me grab different sizes. Overall not the experience I was expecting. This seemed to be the case in most stores at keystone but I was gearing for a more helpful shopping experience at this particular store.

They have some interesting things for sale but the prices are high. I heard some girls looking in the clearance area say how the prices weren’t marked down much. The store was clean and arranged nicely. No sales staff asked if I needed assistance the whole time I was in the store.

My daughter found a shirt that she had been searching for. Although I thought almost $50 was high for a t-shirt, I had to consider where we were shopping. She likes what she likes, and she was a happy girl…… Happy girl, happy mom! All in all, it was a good experience.

Years ago this used to be one of my least visited Ross locations due to having lack of options. Now as of recently, I went by the store (approximately a month from now) and seen the store was still intact, seeing as that never was an issue for them however they had much much more in options than ANY other Ross’ I visit…next best would probably be the Westgate/Okeechobee Blvd. store. That time I discovered their abundance, I was not doing serious shopping but my experience was full. Now fast forward to 12/15/2023…I was mortified at the condition of this store. Was so bad, I almost left without making a purchase due to the navigating down the aisles mostly. The customers showed this store NO MERCY and I felt awfully bad for the employees who had to do their best to clean it up. There is NO WAY I can see this store receiving the tidying up they need without either placing more workers on floor or closing the store either earlier or for a day just to tidy it up. I’m telling you, it was a disgrace. Took a couple photos but really, you had to be there.

This location is so much better than the one on E Washington st! Way more organized and the employees are actually working!

The “pilot program” that was implemented this week in August 2025 about checking your receipt with items after you stand in line for one cashier then step 2 ft away and let the security check each item with my receipt was intrusive , rude, and time consuming and illegal without any inference about theft…just a new policy. I called corporate as soon as I got home and spoke with Teresa who said that it’s NOT mandatory to be checked and it is NOT being utilized at ALL stores!!!! Sounds prohibitive, racial and economically profiling AND said manager at this Linwood Location was rude and lied about this policy as her explanation was a total contradiction to what Corporate told me. I guess it’s back to TJ MAXX and MARSHALLS for discounted quality clothing and home goods….shame on you ROSS for even implementing said policy!!

This store has a really great variety and I was helped on quite a few occasions by friendly staff! I like this store very much!

I found sandals for spring and summer, self care products, and two summer time dashikis. I left a satisfied customer.

Cheap cloths with good quality, so I’m not reviewing H&M as a whole but this location was in shambles. Most unorganized store I have ever been in with a lot of things in random places. Couldn’t find anything I was looking for without wandering around for 5 minutes. Even just a little bit of organization would do wonders.

I normally don’t like H&Ms, but this one was pretty good! It had clothes that I personally would mostly only wear for layering as they’re all quite plain, but there were some stylish clothes there. The prices were way better than I expected! I am going to start coming here for basic clothing for sure.

I did a quick shopping for my trip. Good experience, plenty of fitting rooms, although dirty. Everything was clearly labelled, so I could quickly make a decision. Some items on sale but not so good.

Visited this store today and inquired with the sales associate about the availability of turtlenecks. He appeared annoyed by my question and dismissively responded, “NO, IT’S OUT OF SEASON.” I acknowledged his response but decided to look for myself. To my surprise, I discovered several turtlenecks. When I approached him to request a dressing room, holding a selection of turtlenecks, he merely glanced at them and then turned away.There was no acknowledgment or apology. I understand that working in a mall can be challenging, but it is a responsibility he chose to undertake. If he is unable to provide good customer service, it may be worth considering a different career path. Additionally, wearing AirPods might contribute to his lack of engagement and perceived rudeness.

Staff is indifferent but fine. Selection varies wildly but the value is good, if you manage to find something in your size

Manager Shawn was great at checkout. I was in there shopping to attend a funeral so I wasn’t in the best mood but Shawn made my night. He was super patient with me at checkout. That was one of the best experience at H&M. Thank you Shawn

Made a return in this store on Aug 20th. The associate that helped me didn’t process one of my items. I didn’t realize until I drove back home, 30 mins away, that he had the item but didn’t process the refund for it. I call the store thinking it should be an easy fix. The girl that answered the phone was beyond rude and unhelpful. She refused to walk up to the counter to confirm the item was there and refused to help me at all. She demanded I drive all the way back there to address the situation. Are you kidding me? She told me that was the only solution! I told her multiple times that I wasn’t driving all the way back there for a mistake they made, all for a $12 shirt! She finally asked for my name and number and hung up on me. Of course I haven’t heard from her and of course she won’t call me back. I instead called corporate and filed a formal complaint. They instantly refunded me my money and gave me a coupon towards my next purchase. The associate I had to deal with at the store level, should be fired. I know good help is hard to find these days but having people like this working in a store, will kill your business real fast. Like some of the other reviewers, I will never be back to this location.

I like the storm but the only thing is they shoot are not true to the size. I will set 7 and I couldn’t find a shoe that fits my feet. I tried on the size 9 and I couldn’t get my feet through the shoe. I only found one shoe that Fit my size.
It took someone that doesn’t work there to help me find the shoes that fit my feet. What is sad is I like the shoes? A whole lot and I’m upset that I couldn’t find the shoes that I did like. The could fit my feet.
I wonder, is it a robot is making the shoes because they’re not true to the size..

Nice store its a lil congested trying to walk through and find things but i was able to find some cute stuff. I will let you know the clothes run small so if your a true plus size woman the 4x is like a 24 so i don’t want any women to feel bad cause the clothes don’t fit you right its not you sweetie their sizes just run small

Really like this store, the workers are very helpful normally and polite for the most part. My biggest complaint with this store is that the clothing falls apart extremely easily with some pieces and they can come with destroyed parts. Along with this, they are pretty good about returns and exchanges thought.

Do to my experience @ rainbow located at 45th Lafeyatte Rd. Indianapolis, In Approximately 6:00pm Feburary 7,2019, Rainbow have lost my and my families business. Who has been a lifetime customer….

I’m truly disappointed in your employees customer service. I do not appreciate how I was being talk to and treated by the team lead that was managing the store. There was a reck of items that was on display advertised (if purchase 2 or more, price is $6 each). I asked a sales associate if the price was accurate. She ensured me that it was. But after reaching the check out the team lead told me my item from that rack was in fact $7. I asked if she could honor my two items at $6 each versus the $7. Seeing that’s what the sign advertised for selected items. She advised me she couldn’t and said if she remove the sign that apparently advertise the wrong price she’d still have to charge me the $7 per item. May I add there was no indication of what was selected for $6 versus the $7 items. I had the team lead to call the store manager. She said they could not honor the $6 and went to make fun that it was only $1 more…
It was insulting and it belittle my intellections, they clearly did not honor what the sign said. I myself have worked in retail for many years and what I’ve learned when dealing with customers is sometimes it can be a miss understanding on advertised prices. But what you don’t do is try to make a customer feel as if they don’t understand the very words that their reading for sake of trying to be right.
When I shop not only am I shopping for the product I’m also shopping for the enjoyment.
My case and point is that this isn’t about the $2 dollars difference, it’s about the lack-of respect Rainbow employees showed me as a customer. I would seriously encourage your team lead as well as your general manager to be retrained due to the lack of their customer service. Because they think it’s okay to be disrespectful and create a scene because they are the employee. They want your money but refuse to respect the customer.

Ps: While the manager was no better she disregarded and downplay the whole situation while accompanying the teamlead from over the phone. She told the teamlead to over look my concern and moved on to the next customer! I was appalled and not value as a buying customer!

I just walked out!!!…I’m visiting from out of town and wanted to buy a few items.
I walked in no response, gesture, not even a look…the girl at the register would not even say hello…after asking for assistance. They must do really well with sales for the workers to not actually work.

I will not come back ever!!!…horrible customer service.. go where your money is valued.

Sooooo I happened to slide in here this past weekend just to hear the store associates talking about sucking d**k for McDonald’s. You would’ve thought they would’ve toned it down since there were customers in the store but NOPE!! Heard all about one of their sexual history and all she had to do for a meal and a sweet tea. She was super sweet once we got to the register but failed to realize we could all hear her beforehand. As you said repeatedly, your “history wasn’t a mystery” but it’ll be nice to keep your history to yourself while at work. Me and my auntie could’ve went without all the deets!
