Great bikes. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. BGI is so easy to work with. I live an hour away, so I was able to buy my bike over the phone during their tent sale. They held it over the weekend until I could drive down to pick it up. I test rode it, got all my questions answered, and I was on my way. Great experience all around!

I’m a beginner in road biking and bought my first used bike in March 2025. At the time, I had no idea what to choose, but the staff were incredibly helpful and guided me through the process. I quickly fell in love with endurance sports, and just five months later, I traded in that first bike for a better one. They’ve treated me really well throughout, and I’m very happy with my second bike too.

Excellent local bike shop. First they have tons of bikes on hand for sale that lets you try them out before purchasing. That, and everything on hand for bike maintenance. Second, they have every accessory you’ll need for your cycling adventures. But mostly, they have an excellent shop that is fast and friendly.

Auston is the best! I first met him at a different store, and ever since then he has consistently gone above and beyond to help. He’s made getting into this hobby so much easier by taking the time to answer my questions, guide me through different options, and even help fine-tune my setup. His knowledge, patience, and genuine willingness to help make all the difference. Couldn’t be happier with the experience!

Had such a great experience at BGI buying our first road bike. Clay helped us out and guided us through every step in the process – showing us how to use the bike, things to consider and ensuring we were knowledgeable and happy with our purchase. BGI North is a great place to find the perfect bike for your needs. The only thing better than their immense inventory is the sales staff! Todd went above and beyond to ensure I was completely satisfied with my bike purchase. I was also assisted by Patrick who was very knowledgeable and upfront about the models we looked at. Overall I am extremely pleased with my experience at BGI North, I will be returning for all future bike purchases!

I’ve been looking at getting a nice full suspension mountain bike for a while. My local bike store did not have much inventory at all, and nothing close to what I was looking for. So went to check this bike store out. They had a very large store with a lot of inventory to choose from. I found several mountain bikes that were nice. They let me take one out for a quick test ride, and absolutely fell in love with this electric full suspension mountain bike. I definitely plan on going back to find a bike for my little girl, as soon as she outgrows the one she’s on. I would recommend anyone in central indiana stop in at this bike store before making a purchase somewhere else.

I purchased a tricycle for my wife, but the chain proved too short. A visit to the South Side location revealed a highly knowledgeable and helpful associate name Mr Rick, who made the repair process exceptionally pleasant. Despite a four-week appointment backlog, he prioritized my request and provided exceptional service, which I greatly appreciate.

Austin was super friendly and helped get me set up with a trial bike, even attempted to hook my 5 yr old up (too short, maybe next time)! Didn’t hover, let us explore the parking lot on our own. Ended up purchasing said bike! Not pushy at all for the sale even as close to closing as we did.

Everyone at the store is very friendly, approachable, and helpful. I did feel comfortable talking about my concerns both about my bicycle as well as my cycling experience. I highly suggest working with Gray Goat Southport. They are conveniently located off I-65 HWY.

Nice enough staff, just make sure you ask for your original parts back if they’re doing a replacement. Had them install a dropper. Labor was high and they kept the Thomson post that was already on the bike

Tested numerous bikes at this location, Brandon couldn’t have been better with setting up my bike and answering all my questions. Great experience as a first time customer, would highly recommend this shop for anyone looking into getting a new bike!

My bf and I are trying to fix his dads electric bike. The pedal came out of the crank because the crank was stripped. We were looking for a new one. Ours was black and we wanted another black one to match. When we got to the shop the man took our pedal and went to find a crank to fit. He came back with a silver one and we let him know we want black. He takes our crank and goes and “grinds” it so the pedal could go in. Comes back and puts the pedal in and charges us $30. A whole new crank at bicycle garage Indy is $20. But we felt we couldn’t leave because he had already “fixed” it. But $30 to do that and then say “there is no guarantee it will stay because it’s holding onto one thread” absolutely ridiculous.

My first time ever to Grey Goat South was 2 days ago- tech Rick was so knowledgeable, and provided such exceptional customer service, that I took our other bike in the next day. Love this shop!

Not enough gold things to say about this Indy gem. Super affordable and the service here is excellent. Staff are friendly and will keep it 100 with you. I brought three bikes in since two came from NYC And had no idea what shape they were in. They could have easily charged me for something dumb, but they sent me back home with one of them telling me it was in excellent condition and I just needed to put air on the tires. I highly recommend the Bicycle Hospital for anything bike related. My wife purchased her bicycle here and she loves it. I have also brought my bike here for repairs. You are not going to find better prices elsewhere in Indy. Jennifer and the team are very knowledgeable and friendly. When you walk in for the first time, you feel like you have been going there for years. Definitely give the Bicycle Hospital a visit, it will become your go to for anything bike related!

I recently went in to get two new tires, two tubes, and a few other items fixed. I thought I’d have to drop it off and come back a week later, but they ended up doing the repairs right then and there—in just 20 minutes—and it cost way less than I expected!

During that same visit, the owner even shared the history of my vintage bike while I waited. I love supporting businesses like this.

We recently moved to the crowd nest area and this is the closest bicycle shop around. Dont get fooled by the exterior. Walked in and was greeted by a lady at the entrance. I said brakes are not working on one of the bikes and she twisted the bike handle couple times and fixed it in 2 seconds. Did some minor repairs and out in 20 minutes with very minimal charges. Very honest and highly recommend! This will be my go to shop goong forward for sure.

went in to purchase my first bike today. i came in with an idea of what i wanted (used) and michael was extremely informative, honest, and not pushy at all. i left with a bike, a helmet, and a free cup holder and took it on it’s first ride right after and it was everything i hoped it would be for a starter! will be returning for any of my bike needs in the future!

Mike Dowling was perfect to work with. I came in to look, with a bit of a budget in mind, with only a vague idea of what I wanted. You work with the pros and they’ll get you what you want, but Mike got it for me at a price right where I had planned. No pressure whatsoever, besides knowing you can’t pass up a good deal. I’ve always wondered how this shop was doing business-wise, and it’s easy to see now why they’re still here.

What a great repair, and at a reasonable price!

I developed a loud creak in the bottom bracket of my 30 year old mountain bike.

I brought it to the Bike Line and they quickly diagnosed the issue, and were very friendly while doing so!

They treated me like an old friend, and they treated my bike as if it were their own.

The repair was completed quicker than I expected, and for what I consider to be a very reasonable price.

I wish I had brought my bike to them sooner. It is now quieter and smoother than it has ever been.

There seems to be absolutely no friction anywhere in the drive train.

It really is better now than it was when it was new. Amazing.

My wife loves this place. Admittedly, I don’t have the same attachment, but they’ve never done me wrong. Always polite, professional, efficient and competent. Prices are a bit high, but it’s a bike shop in Broad Ripple. I’m surprised it’s not higher. Trust them with your bike, they’ll do good work

Very good experience. Went in with an unknown problem. I explained what the bike was doing, they examined the bike, and took it for a test ride. They had diagnosed the problem possible with the chain. Although they were willing too do the work, they suggested it may be a self fix and save some money on a DIY. Well they were right. It was a chain issue that I was able to fix in about 10 minutes.

I’d never been in before, but today on my ride, I had a minor issue come up. Conveniently, I was super close to The Bike Line, and I stopped in and they got me all fixed up in no time and out the door! It was nice to stop in and see such a gorgeous selection of bikes and gear too. I’ll have to do some shopping next time!

We purchased a new Trek bike for my wife here two years ago and since then our experiences have been very disappointing. The few times weve brought the bike in for servicing, something that we needed done had always been forgotten.

Two weeks ago we brought her bike in to have a bent rotor replaced and a few other additions. My wife called in and paid and then when I arrived to pick up the bike there was great confusion as to whether my wife’s payment had “gone through” . After 10 minutes I paid again so I could finally leave the store.

Two days later she started to ride the bike for the first time only to find that the rotor was still bent . We immediately went back to the shop and the first attendant agreed to quickly replace it again for free. While I was waiting for the repair to be completed an older male employee walked over and angrily got in my face and shouted that the rotor was not bent when the bike left the store two days ago. I was stunned. He was shaking and angry and loud and the whole tantrum was totally inappropriate. His face was red and he was shaking and I worried that he might get violent. I took offense at his accusations and aggressive behavior and the whole thing escalated into a shouting match between me and three of their employees. At one pont, they placed my wife’s bike in the parking lot minus the whole front tire and refused to do anything. . A younger more mature employee and my wife finally calmed things down and they did end up replacing the rotor for free.

I’m a business owner in my 60s and i have never been treated so inappropriately in a retail establishment. If you shop there beware of the older guy with the anger problem and be prepared for a fight if you question any of their work.

Liam tuned up and replaced a few parts on my 13 year old bike. It rides like a dream now! I can’t believe how smooth and silent it is. The customer service from Liam and Nathan was wonderful. Nathan also helped my children find new helmets. He was great at making sure they got properly. Both Liam and Nathan were very friendly and professional. I love the downtown BGI. I am always happing stepping into that store.

I literally have no clue about bikes- I just know my tires kept deflating. I walked in and told a very nice employee that I suspected there were holes and he let me know he would try putting new tubes in. He was very helpful about what exactly he would do and the cost, and it took only 20 minutes! He very kindly adjusted my handle bars as well and it felt like a brand new bike!

TL;DR the new shop on Roosevelt has awesome staff who are responsive, knowledgeable, and patient with questions. I highly recommend them for bikers of all skill levels.

Had bolts falling off my rear brakes that I noticed were stripped. The online appt scheduler was 2+ weeks out and I had an upcoming vacay that I wanted to take my bike on, so I called the shop and spoke with Max. He had immediate knowledge of the brake issue with my Trek and told me to swing by with the bike same-day.

He must’ve been on break or something because he immediately lifted the bike and started inspecting it even though I noticed plenty of bikes needed to be worked on; his diagnosis over the phone was correct, looked up my BGI purchase in their system and saw it was under warranty, ordered new parts and told me they’d call or text when it was ready.

The only delay was the brake manufacturer’s shipping (over 1 week) because the parts were delivered and installed the same-day by BGI. I was really impressed and so happy I got to take my bike up to Michigan later that weekend. Thank you, Max and thank you BGI!!

Over the past few years they have assembled two bikes for me and did great jobs at that. They’ve also helped with quality tuneups. Very nice and knowledgeable staff. I’ll continue to patronize their shop and I do recommend them to anyone in earshot.

The staff quickly helped me understand what kind of maintenance my bike needed. They also helped me find and install a new rack above my rear tire in about 30 minutes. When they noticed my extremely worn breaks, they went ahead and did the break install for free. Great service. I’ll definitely go back.

To start – I am a full bike commuter and have been for a decade (in Indy and in ATX) – I have been using BGI Downtown for my e-bike repairs for 3 years now and find them to be reliable and a fair price. Keeping your bike tuned up costs money, that’s all there is to it but the people here are very good at what they do, are very knowledgable, and are friendly. I have asked them a ton of questions and when I made the call to buy a new e-bike, they offered me a lot of expert advice. I am very, very pleased with my new Trek bike and give a lot of credit to the people at BGI for that.

I went in pretty much knowing what I was looking for. Ben showed me everything they had that fit my list of wants. He let me test ride whatever I wanted and had great suggestions. I left with an awesome bike and the service was great. Will be going back for any cycling needs.

I love this place. I’ve had my bike tuned up there before, which was a fantastic experience. Today I bought a bike from them (a beautiful Momentum Vida), and Ron was a huge help in the decision-making process. No pressure, just knowledge. Returning to biking after many years away, I didn’t know exactly what I needed, but he caught my vibe and found the perfect bike for me. The prices are better than other shops I’ve been to, and the wealth of knowledge is unmatched. They’ll very kindly spend the time you need to find the right fit for you and they’re fun as hell in the process. Love love love!

My experience with ICS actually began at another large, local bike shop. I had called ahead to the other place, asking only about carbon fiber bikes, and was told sure, come on by, we have you covered. When I got there, they had 3 aluminum bikes to show me. I left, googled bike shops, and called Indy Cycle Specialist (ICS). The employee who answered the phone said we have several carbon fiber bikes and you can check them out online. And so I did. The bike I was shown at ICS ticked off all the right boxes (Giant Revolt). This is the best bike shop I have ever seen. Family-friendly with plenty of choices for the kiddos. Whether you ride on pavement, gravel, or trail, this place has your bike. Showroom is huge, clean, and packed with new bikes plus accessories from lightweight tools to bags, lights, mirrors, helmets, safety equipment, riding apparel and more. Plus an in-house shop does repairs, tune-ups, equipment installation, and maintenance. Employees are knowledgeable and welcoming- see Jordan, Nash, Ron or Scott. Located in Irvington just down the street from Starbucks. If you have an interest in a new bike, whether you’re a beginner or expert rider, do yourself a favor by checking this place out!

Their staff has done an incredible job helping me find exactly what I need every time I’ve been in-store. They’re patient, transparent, helpful, and pleasant! Inventory is expansive and high quality.

On a whim, and in greater interest of buying a motorcycle, I popped into ICS to possibly acquaint myself with 2 wheeled transportation. I am a complete novice with near zero knowledge of bicycling. The first day in Ben was extremely helpful, answered all my questions, and gave me answers to questions I didn’t know I needed to ask. I also was guided to test ride 2 bikes. The experience left such a good taste in my mouth that I returned the next day, test rode 4 more bikes with the help of Nick and others, and left with my first Surly Preamble bike. This is about as good as customer service gets. If at all interested in bicycling, visit this place ASAP.

Hometown bicycle heros! Fantastic store with plenty of bike styles. Go see Clay. He’s a true professional and he really took care of us. He took his time and search a couple of times for the right back rim for my son’s bike. The store is in Scenic historic irvington, and is full of friendly Hoosier bicycle enthusiast. I’ll be back. I highly recommend this establishment for ALL your biking needs! I got a flat tire on my bicycle while on the Monon, took it to Freewheelin’ and Aaron Short not only fixed my flat, but I walked out with another great bicycle at an even more amazing price! I didn’t realize that like cars, some bikes have lifespans as well and when it’s time to upgrade, it’s time to UPGRADE. Aaron explained all this to me and I am so satisfied with my new bicycle. They offer classes for kids to learn about their bikes, as well as social, emotional, and practical skill development for diverse learners. Wife took my daughters bike over today that needed the tube replaced, simple fix for a bicycle shop, but they would not help her out. Went to Gear Up Cyclery in Plainfield they had it repaired in 5 minutes. Terrible customer service here highly do not recommend. Drive down the road to a more helpful shop.

This place actually returned my mountain ride with it’s original valve stem AFTER we paid to have it replaced with a New tube in the Rear. Funny how you do that. DONT TRUST THESE GUYS! they only want your money not your return business. Word of mouth is EVERYTHING.

Came over from Avon to test ride a few e-bikes and was blown away by how knowledgeable Jeremiah was. I ended up going with the Aventon Level 2 and I love it. Great customer service and a solid selection of gear too.

Very nice bike shop. The owner and employees are very friendly, great service. I was surprised that this shop will even price match which is cool so you don’t have to drive all over town for the best price on an item. There is a large parking area in the same plaza big enough for a semi truck, even though there are signs that say no semi truck parking, I went and parked long enough to get what I needed anyway.

I brought my 1997 trek 2120 carbon alum in to get the rear derailleur cable replaced and the handle bars rewrapped. Jeremiah was great, he handled my bike with the utmost care and respect. And did a great job.

My wife and I both purchased new bikes recently and had a great experience. Luke was great to work with; super easygoing, knew his stuff, and made the whole process extremely simple. He helped us figure out exactly what we each needed and made sure we left happy. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Ok, BGI, your counter guy could not have been more insulting. That left-over counter / manager from the previous shop has not changed his rude disposition. BGI greenwood – never had a bad experience. Went today to check out the sale, and buy an electric bike, but the moronic, anti-salesmanship of the guy behind the counter with the flowered shirt motivated us to walk out. “Sure, maybe $20 bucks for the trade-in” – really?? In front of everyone? I knew the value of the bike but my wife loved it and didn’t need to hear your pompous comment. Probably just setting expectations, right? Plenty of other comments could have been found by a competent and people-oriented employee. Our sales guy was nice and friendly, though. Two stars awarded for the nice guy and the guys hard at work fixing bikes, to be fair. Won’t be back.

I wish I would have gotten everyone’s names who helped me today. Came in to get two bicycles fixed. From the beginning every person I came in contact with was friendly and so helpful. They fixed both bikes very quickly and the price was way lower than I thought it would have been. I honestly don’t think the experience could have been better. This place is amazing and professional, if you need a bike or need something repaired, they are awesome!

I stopped by around 6 pm yesterday evening, there were 2 or 3 customers being helped. Looked like 2 guys buying some repair parts and not sure about the others. I was interested in more information and looking into a Specialized EPIC 8 Comp I have been looking at through the Specialized website. I walked around for about 15 minutes or more while others were being helped. I was never acknowledged or asked if I had any questions or needed assistance. One or two people stood behind the counter talking about reasons they don’t do daily transfers yet never gave me the time of day. I use to be in the Bicycle Industry and continue to work in various types of Sales and Customer Service and this opportunity lost is not acceptable in any market. I left and will not return. I doubt this is the normal expectation but if it happened to me it will happen again. Time to look to do better for the next person looking to spend money.

Never disappointed with Bicycle Garage on Southport Road. Ben ordered new grips which didn’t end of fitting with my mirror. When the mirror didn’t work Luke replaced my handle bars and added a new mirror which fit my new grips all free of charge ~ no questions asked. I think Ben may have even smiled once! 🙂
