So place seems to check out. As a verified person who has not been paid for a review in a seriousness the facilities are seemingly clean with real people , chef, dishwashers and very comfortable beds alongwith curriculum as a main dish. Enjoy. Two thumbs up

This is my first time in rehab for alcohol and other substances. I was originally scared of coming here because I thought it would be ran like a facility but it’s not. It has a home setting which while detoxing is a big help. Not feeling stressed about all the thing that would stress one. I highly recommend coming to ARC if you need the help. Amazing staff and great friends who are going through the same things. The staff have also been through addiction which makes it a lot better because they understand what we are going through because they once went through it aswell.
Isayah Zachary☆ 5/5
I’ve been here a couple days, the staff is friendly, it’s not overly strict and the facilities are really nice. It’s winter now so I can only imagine how nice the property looks in the spring/ summer. Food is provided three meals a day. Well worth it to relax and work through any issues that you’re ready to face.
Christopher Wilson☆ 5/5
My experience at ARC has been life-saving. I believe ARC provides the tools and resources to help people who have nowhere else to go, or just aren’t sure where to begin their recovery journey. From the chef-prepared meals, to caring and compassionate staff, ARC has safely helped me stop drinking. Medical services on-site are high quality and reliable. Seriously, just give it a thought. It is the fresh start for the rest of my life. I can see the difference, and feel like I can see myself in the mirror again.

Huge stepping stone for my life. I’ve been to a lot of places in my history of addiction/recovery and this was the one place I actually felt like I was equal. The staff go above and beyond for legit anything you need or struggle with. I never once felt alone. Most places and people in recovery are there for a paycheck, this place? The absolute opposite. Dawg this was one of the scariest yet BEST decisions I made for my recovery journey as well as myself. The love and care is endless.

Where do I even begin, for the first time in my life I wasn’t nervous to try something new, and that was weird. When I came through the front doors I felt welcomed. I knew I was in the right place! My sobriety journey wasn’t easy, I had my ups and of course my downs. Through all of that, I had someone or the tools to pull me out of mind and help me understand why I was feeling the ways felt. Through coming to Avenues and applying myself to obtaining sobriety, I am confident I can and will do what I need to do to remain sober and chase the dreams I never knew I had. I will forever be grateful for Avenues, because of them I love me. Thank you.

Avenues got me in immediately when I called luckily. It only took 14 minutes for the Uber to come get me. The staff all treated me with kindness even when I was a little difficult. The food is really good and they put up a menu so you can see what you’re gonna have ahead of time. Group keeps you engaged but doesn’t wear you out. Also I like how you see your therapist every week while in treatment. Overall a good experience!

I was at the Bloomington location. The staff took really good care of me when I was at my worst. They really worked with me and tailored the treatment to my needs. They pushed me just enough to really do the work I needed to do to get better. They really saved my life and I am so grateful. I now have almost 9 months completely clean for the first time in my life. Thank you indiana center for recovery!

I had a great experience at ICFR, this experience definitely gave me the foundation to turn my life around. Although several of the staff members were outstanding, Collin and Shawn had to be my favorite due to there down to earth approach with a mix of the friend you need, not the person who always agrees with you. I highly recommend this facility to anyone in need of help.

I learned something in every group. Thank you! I recommend anyone who is struggling with mental health or substance abuse issues to take a brave step towards recovery by going here. I went with Jesus in my mind and heart and it made all the difference.

Spark is a great place for people who want to get their lives together. They have taken me in as soon as I called. The clinical director was also one of the GREATEST people that has made me feel trusted and safe. She made me feel at home and she listens to me no matter what she has going on. I love my therapist also. He helped me get down to the bottom of my problems and he helps me find solutions without having to explode. They are very on demand and serious about everyone’s recovery. They help provide transportation to meetings that they feel will help us progress in recovery and they help in other aspects described as church , food pantries, grocery shopping and other things. I I don’t know where I would have been if it wasn’t for Spark. They help you stay on top of your medicine intake and providing you a clean and safe place to sleep and cook. I really love the environment and center. They helped me get back on track and stay focused. I’ve came so far just in the short amount of time I’ve been here. Thank you so much to all the staff here. I love all of you guys.

This place saved my life miss kimtoya was really good she helped me in so many ways that I can’t thank her enough.
Dale☆ 5/5
Honestly, no stars. The intake process was an hour of paperwork… no human interaction. They seem understaffed, don’t enforce the rules onto the clients, not to mention the clients are all disgusting ingrates, they have no manners, belching out loud farting everywhere… there is absolutely NO common courtesy at all and the staff has not a care in the world. They let whoever do whatever they want with no repercussions. The communication between staff and clients is non-existent, the staff is almost NEVER on time. There is NO time structure, so you can literally sit in class and have no instructor for hours on end… sitting there with literally nothing to do. As a patient you can literally slip through the cracks and be forgotten consistently. This place is a freaking joke. You’ll find yourself more triggered or upset just by going there than dealing on your own. 12 out of 10 would NOT recommend. Screw this place. Needs to be shut down, and have their licenses revoked. I’ve been to many many many places and this is by far the worst I’ve been to. I even let them know how I felt and why I left, and they gave absolutely not a single care. A simple «thanks for reaching out» not an are you ok you’ve been missing 4 days, not a Im sorry to hear that we’ll work on it…. not a darn thing. Absolutely revolting.

I had an incredible experience at this recovery center, and I’m truly grateful for the care I received. From the moment I walked in, the staff treated me with compassion, respect, & genuine kindness. I had never been anywhere for treatment before, so I was pretty nervous. Every person I encountered was supportive & patient, they made me feel safe & understood during a very vulnerable time in my life. The environment is clean, peaceful, & uplifting… the kind of place where healing actually feels possible!! Everyone, from admissions… to cafeteria workers, janitorial staff, nurses, therapists, & RSS staff, goes above & beyond to meet your needs, answer your questions, and/or make sure you never feel alone in your journey. Their professionalism, dedication, & kindness are unmatched. I left feeling stronger, more grounded, and truly cared for. I highly recommend this center to anyone seeking real support and a fresh start. Thank you to the entire team for making such a positive impact on my life. 64 days sober and still counting!!
Jessica Pulley☆ 5/5
I was very nervous going into rehab at RCA but I was desperate to stop drinking. I knew I couldn’t do it on my own and they were recommended by someone I trusted, and I wasn’t in any shape to do my own research. The whole experience was well worth the effort and expense. Once I made the decision that I HAD to make a change, RCA stepped in to help me start down the path to sobriety. From helping me medically detox the first few days to giving me tools to maintain my sobriety once I left, they were the perfect place for me to seek help. The staff really seemed to care about me personally and I’m grateful for the effort they made to help me get better. The facility itself is fairly nice but that was just a bonus. Lastly, they have a great alumni program and it’s great to see people I was in the program with and continue to remind myself why sobriety is so important to maintain through the AA meetings they host. . I’m 1,328 days sober and I give a lot of credit to RCA for helping me achieve this.
Andy Beecham☆ 5/5
RCA was a really helpful Experience it helps people who are really struggling with there addiction to know that they are safe. It’s a place we’re people are guided to find there true identity the staff are great respectful and always willing to help you go forward with how you truly feel and the woman are very beautiful too and patient as well
Gabriel Smith☆ 5/5
I was a patient here twice this year. My experience: Pros: -Group facilitators genuinely talk the talk and walk the walk of recovery. Much to be learned if youre open and willing. -The clinical coordinators are phenomenal and truly do everything they humanly can. -The nursing and RSS staff that have worked there for a long time do a great job under the circumstances. -Most of the therapists are good. -The alumni coordinator is phenomenal. -They are gradually making improvements to the program. -Excellent food. -Very flexible programming and relative freedom to get as much (or as little) as you want from your residency. Cons: -Newer nursing/RSS staff can be hit or miss. Not everyone who works there is cut out for the job. -Case management and psychiatry were severely understaffed when I was a resident. My aftercare plan was not handled well at all and I had to do 100% of the work figuring that out. Never saw the psychiatrist once as she was too busy. -Finance department also was understaffed. I never got my ADA/FMLA paperwork even started for my job while I was there because they had no time. -Inconsistent enforcement of policies. Depending on who is working and their mood, some things may be permissible some times and some times not. -Cleaning/maintenance standards for linens, HVAC and fixtures in patient rooms was hit and miss. Not sure if thats changed or not but be aware and take charge of your own cleanliness standards. Recommend bringing your own pillow. Overall, I gained a lot from the experience and while it wasn’t always what I thought it should be, I still found what I needed to commit to sobriety in the process. If you’ve reached a point in your life where youre sick and tired of being sick and tired, RCA is not a bad option in my opinion. I would highly recommend to plan on pursuing PHP/IOP and/or sober living after your residency to maximize your likelihood of staying sober.

My brother went to your Indianapolis RCA for help with substance abuse (alcohol) and mental health treatment, depression since his wife of over 50 years passed away he has been struggling the last three years. I received a call from Brian Cloud stating RCA could help him. Brian was the only good thing I have to say about RCA. He was there anytime I reached out and called or texted him. He tried his best to help me. As far as my brother’s care is concerned that facility in Indianapolis is horrible. It’s run down and the staff is not qualified to be treating people. They talk about having a nice outdoor area with gazebos and a pond but barely let anytime outside to enjoy it. My brother couldn’t leave his floor unless he was going to a meeting. I could never reach a live person the entire time he was there I just had to leave a message. It’s more like jail! Brian Stephens called me while my brother was there to let me know insurance would no longer cover my brother’s stay. When I asked for a number to speak with someone he refused stating they can’t speak to patients families or they would get nothing done and hung up on me. My husband and I drove the two and a half hour drive to get my brother the next day. He was in worse mental health than he was when he went in your facility. Your staff is horrible and does not treat the patients with kindness and care. I would never recommend your facility to anyone. All you are out for is how many clients you can cram into your facility and how much money you can make off these poor people that really need help. It’s inexcusable!! I would tell anyone looking for help look somewhere else don’t send your loved ones here! Sincerely Mary Young

RCA,RCA! Where do I begin? So I graduated the program in January of 2025 and the facility offered me great skills to help to stay sober and therapy while there. After leaving the Alumni coordinator always checked in monthly and I ended up at alumni events such as speaker events and even a Halloween event at Hogan Farms. I’d recommend this recovery network to anyone seeking a safe and reliable sober community!

My experience at RCA Indianapolis changed my life. I came out feeling stronger and more confident that I could stay on the right path. The classes were beneficial; and most if not all the instructors taught from their own past experiences, which made the classes more effective and meaningful. I was so angry when my husband made me go, but ended up so thankful that he did.

I love ITC I believe it saved my life, without ITC I believe I would be a hot mess or probably dead!!! The things they do for complete strangers is So Amazing!!!! I really like the counselor I have right now but the counselor I had before Mrs krystan was cheressela Harris is So Awesome, Ik when I come in & my counselor is busy she will go out of her way to help me, She helped get me out of a really bad situation, She would talk to me & She always had a way to get me out of my funk & still does if we had more counselors like I believe there would be Alot less people using. So Thanks Alot Cheressela for being so kind & not judging me instead you helped me!!!! Bottom line I LOVE ITC. MY NAME IS THERESA MYNATT!!

As a widowed mother of two grown sons, I have been through my share of hard times in life. Coming to this clinic was not an easy step for me, but I am so happy I did. From the very beginning, I have been treated with kindness, patience, and respect. I especially want to thank my counselor, Dellonda. She is consistently pleasant and encouraging. Every time I meet with her, I feel heard and supported, never judged. Which at my age means the world, when it can be easy to feel overlooked. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who needs support. You will be in good hands.

My girl (of 10yrs) has been a patient at ICTC since 2018. I can definitely say that ICTC has helped save our lives, helping to bring back the much needed stability. Anyone ready to make the change, and get help… this is an easy place to feel accepted and do so. Much thanks to Dellonda for her help and compassion, and always being there for her when she needs her to be. She has been through several counselors at ICTC and most of them treated her as if she was a person in trouble, instead of a person in need of help and support.

Ictc really is a blessing for those who couldn’t do it any other way. Alot of people see MAT as a crutch or replacement swapping one substance for another but for some people this really is the only way to get clean. It took a while for me to do the program right but once I was paired with my great counselor Dellonda Richardson everything clicked and I’ve been straight sober and working on getting my life back in order ever since. It may not be for everyone but anyone who wants to finally quit the bs and get right I highly recommend checking yourself into ICTC

Everything is so much better than it used to be. The wait time has decreased significantly because of the kiosk check-in. It’s operating so much more smoothly. I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about their recovery. They give you all of tools you need. It’s just up to you to use them. My counselor is Alicia Bryant and I’ve had her since I’ve been there. She is AWESOME.

People can bash methadone all they want, but ICTC has given me back my family and my life. With the support and help from my counselor, Sulenia Golightly, I am sober and living my best life. She is the best counselor EVER! If it weren’t for Sulenia and ICTC I would probably be dead. So thank you, yall are literally life savers.

I am a recent right above knee amputee and and was recommended to do rehab here. I am very pleased with the care and rehab given. The staff is absolutely amazing. The center has great resources for you to take advantage of. aTherapist address everything that you need. My left knee needs a replacement and found out i.could not straight en out and it hurts. Within a day I was measured for a knee brace and given in 2 days. I highly recommend this program as well as the location. I am back as I had a complete change in my socket for my prostatic. The therapy program for me has given me such insight as to how much it actually takes to simply walk. The therapists are very knowledgeable and I truly appreciate all they have and continue to teach me. Brelyn Heffelbower has been with me since the very beginning and goes above and beyond to make sure I am learning how to use my prosthetic. She is the physical therapist here and Katie, my OT, is as wonderful. Both are very sweet and patient with me. I cannot recommend this program enough. If you have the ability to get in take the opportunity, I promise you will not be disappointed.

The entire staff (doctors, nurses and PT personnel) in just two short weeks helped me in so many ways – they were professional and focused on my care & overall improvement. I would highly recommend them; in fact, I will be undergoing the replacement of both the injured knees, and it would be my desire to return there for inpatient rehab therapy.

I have been a patient here for a week now and expect to be discharged in four days. I can not believe how the staff here consistently has me feeling like I’m their only patient. I was transferred here from a traditional hospital at which I received a preemptive visit from a liaison of Community Rehabilitation Hospital North. By that I was impressed and from there they have continued to deliver exceptional care to me in the unfortunate condition in which I find myself. A weekday here consists of a total of three hours of a combination of physical and occupational therapies, three meals, a visit by the hospital physiatrist and careful administration of medications he prescribes along with those I was prescribed prior to coming here. My nurse and tech are only a button push away and address any concerns completely. Should they not have the ability to render certain decisions they don’t hesitate to escalate the matter to the next in charge. Whoever is next in charge has, in my experience, always been reachable and has determined what course of action needs to be taken. I have also had daily check-ins by a physician from Community North Hospital and my case manager who is well-versed in all aspects of my condition, my treatment and the situation into which I will be discharged. My questions and concerns are addressed until I feel comfortable with the outcome I face as I move forward. This is true of the occupational and physical therapists as well. I have learned both mechanisms to allow me to maneuver physically going forward and the practical skills which require adjustments due to my newfound physical limitations. I truly believe that I am in a superior place for my physical and emotional wellbeing. The staff and facility, along with their supporting resources could not be any better. They work as a cohesive team, consistently on top of what’s going on with me at any given moment. And, best of all, my dog is allowed to visit. I highly recommend choosing Community Rehabilitation Hospital North if you find yourself in need of such services.

First, let me start by saying my wife almost died in the hospital and was in the hospital 55 straight days. That’s going to set the stage for my review. Coming to Community north rehab hospital was not an inviting experience to begin with. We knew it was going to be a lot of work, necessary work, but nonetheless hard. This all changed the minute we walked in the door to get into our room and admitted. The first nurse that we encountered was Holly. Holly is the epitome of a five star nurse. She always smiles. She’s always there for you and she always has your best interest at heart. She answered all of her questions, make sure Sally was comfortable, and did everything humanly possible to make her stay enjoyable. PT, OT, and Speech were a challenge to behold. We started with our PT effort the first day and of course Sally was not open to that whole experience. Should been in the hospital for numerous days have been in ICU for over 3 1/2 weeks and was not in the mood to exercise muscles that had atrophy for several weeks. Kevin and Wayne should also be singled out for their extraordinary effort to make Sally comfortable and make sure she got the best care possible. They both went above and beyond and their efforts truly made a difference. A few days before we were discharged, Sally had an event that requires us to go to the emergency center. Our nurse at the time was Becky and the shift supervisor Ron with Kathy. Blood had to be drawn immediately, and Kathy took charge of that because she had such experience at finding hard to hit veins. She’s in walked or had it delivered. I’m not really sure the blood across the street so Sally didn’t have to wait hours to get the results. Becky took all the necessary information, got the ambulance drivers on site, and insured that we were out the door in a minimum amount of time. I really feel that these two individuals cut our time over there by several hours because of their extraordinary efforts. The rehab Group as a whole was exceptional. The ones that I single out is just because I can remember their names easily was Angela who gave Sally bath on numerous occasions and went out of her way to make sure Sally had all the skills necessary to get her acclimated back to her normal life. She was a pleasure to work with always pleasant and highly professional. She was one of Sally’s favorites. As for PT itself, I would say that that was Sally’s High Point of the rehab process. but to be honest, it was one of the more taxing for her. She did not want to do it, but Allie was a rock and made sure that we moved forward with the rehab process, that Sally understood the importance of the rehab, and then encouraged her to make the most out of the situation. Ali and Angela got Sally to appoint that we never thought possible. When Sally came in, she thought she would never walk again. As I dictate this, Sally is in the swimming pool in her bathing suit enjoying life. We still have a long ways to go, but thanks to Community north rehab hospital , we are well on our way . Thank you to everyone at the hospital. My review and that of Sally’s would be higher than a five star if you had that possible thank you for your time energy and efforts. Best of luck with new patients.

This facility and staff are excellent. I was a patient from mid June until the end of the month, but I don’t remember the exact dates. I was originally sent to community west rehab hospital by St Vincent’s, but was redirected to community north 2 days later, with the help of Dr Harrison and Windy (case manager). Dr Harrison made an extra effort by working with management to accommodate my request. Dr Harrison also provided professional and comprehensive patient care. I would also like to recognize the following staff for providing professional compassionate and pleasant patient care. Miran (nurse), Danna (nurse), Amanda (nurse), Jennifer (nurse), Breanna (tech) Tori (tech), and Kiesha (tech). This individuals demonstrated excellent patient care skills and had a very pleasant bedside manner. If you need to go to a rehab hospital the quality of the staff can make all the difference.

Regarding the Fairbanks Addiction Medicine Clinic. Do not bring yourself or your loved ones here. They want repeate customers who come monthly for their shot for the rest of their lives. They treat you like an uppity junkie if you ask them to do anything other than make an appointment. They cannot reach, do not know, and cannot say anything regarding helping you. Frustrated or upset? Well that’s just another reason you can be dismissed and diminished as a problem, an addict, you know how-they-are. And, if you can’t do the shot, and you ever have trouble or need help with the meds that don’t require monthly appointments, good luck getting anyone on the phone. And if there is an emergency or you’re really struggling and are in a damgerous spot… these are absolutely the last people you should call. Once you do get to your doctor — the care couldn’t be better, but every other step of interacting with this place is a nightmare. Especially the women in the office who could not care less.

I checked into Fairbanks Hospital back in late November 1988. My whole life was in shambles and I decided that Fairbanks was a safe place to hide out for 30 days. I thought I would use Fairbanks to escape from life just like I did with the drugs and alcohol. I learned a whole lot about myself and Thank God they introduced me to Alcoholics Anonymous. By the Grace of God and the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, I’ve been sober since November 3, 1988. I am so grateful that I decided to hide out in Fairbanks when I was at my bottom. Jerry T.

I had to schedule this appointment in advance, meaning it was not same day. During that time, had I known that I would just be an inconvenience to them, I could have scheduled my intake appointment for major depression somewhere else. I arrived to my appointment. I was given forms to fill out. Filled them out. Sat and waited over 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. They called everyone else in except me. Another patient that left forgot something, and the front desk staff called them. After 45 minutes, I accepted that I was just sitting there wasting my time, so I got up and left. Nobody tried to stop me or ask where I was going. Nobody called me to ask if I was coming back or if I wanted to reschedule (I don’t). Nobody reached out the next day to see what happened. Like I said, had I known they just wanted to waste my time for no reason, I could have set up this intake appointment elsewhere that I so desperately needed and now have sort of given up on scheduling anywhere else. Oh, and I’m a Community employee, what great care their employees receive. Thanks.

Lindsey Garrod Stated I signed up for residential treatment and that I had a surgery coming up on the 13th which is false, I received no copy of anything i signed on a digital pad and not once did they flip the screen around to show me what I was told I was signing.I stated that I had an issue with the neighbors tree falling on my roof and I needed to fly out for a vacation on the 13th. Please note the complete nursing staff was exceptionally professional and very knowledgeable about what they do. I did not like the kiddy snacks they provided they definitely could improve on catering to adults who need to eat healthy. But my main complaint is with Lindsey Garrod who wrote what she pleased and not what I said.

The following are answers I provided to a voluntary survey. At the end of the survey, they asked me to provide this part of the review publicly and I was happy to do so, but it might not make perfect sense outside of that specific context. Hopefully, you still find it useful. Anyway… It’s very simple. It’s called trusting other people. As far as I can tell, everyone is telling the truth 100% of the time – even when they lie. Lies are easy to detect through facial expressions and tone and inflection and logic and rationale, so you can intuit the truth from those clues. Half-truths are harder because the person in question genuinely believes what they are saying is true even when it is not necessarily true for them. That gives four possible interpretations and it takes a master psychologist to basically make an educated guess at which of the four possible interpretations fits the situation best. I happen to be a master philosopher, so I understand all subdisciplines of philosophy very well and also see their connections, but it’s not very hard to impart the understanding an individual needs through casual, light-hearted conversation. That’s all I did in my «voluntary» (slight tangent: it’s not really voluntary unless you can check out anytime you want; otherwise people get anxious when they feel like they are in a form of prison designed for people who can’t go to the bathroom without someone unlocking the door) stay at the psychiatric hospital. I was happy to do it the ‘old-fashioned’ way to demonstrate the value of having a friendly conversation (e.g., «bottom-up management», listening to good ideas and hashing them out with peers and ‘superiors’, et cetera…). I would be happy to consult further free of charge, though my parents would be more impressed if I received fair compensation. I understand I don’t need it because people soon will give me anything I am likely to want just for teaching them some of what I know, but – to parents – the proof is always in the pudding (they want results). I trust the process though, even if it currently treats human beings like commodities and experiments. I am happily testing out the effects of various prescription drugs (I am temporarily holding off on personal ‘recreational’ drug experiments – which are done using up-to-date methodologies pioneered through trial and error from millions of adventurous individuals; it’s very safe if you do it following scientific guidelines – while getting my parents on board with the idea that I really do understand everything to a startling degree). Anyway, I think that’s enough for this prompt. Future ones will likely be much shorter because I just went through a lot of the preliminary explanation. I am happy to relate more, but it’s easier to do face-to-face and not when I am considered a ‘fool’ or a ‘patient’. I have no intention of getting admitted to a psychiatric facility again while the system is still the way it currently is, but I shared a bunch of ‘healthier’ reframes with all the staff and patients I interacted with during my brief stay at the detox ward. I am nobody special except for my complete lack of fear. I imagine any ‘bipolar’ person could tell you much of the same if they weren’t completely terrified of being locked in cages by so-called ‘normal’ people. We’re all who we are – we’re all just very neurodivergent at the moment. It’s time for everyone to get back to center at the moment; at which point, we can diverge again, but this time with intentionality. We just need to solve all our current issues first through negotiation and sharing good ideas.

My experience at Community North was deeply disturbing and heartbreaking. Instead of feeling cared for during a vulnerable time, I felt imprisoned for having a mental health condition. The environment was cold and dehumanizing. Nurses and doctors stayed behind windows, watching patients rather than engaging with them in meaningful or therapeutic ways. It felt more like surveillance than care—observation without connection, control without compassion. The windows were covered so patients couldn’t see outside. That lack of natural light and connection to the world was crushing. For people already struggling, being cut off visually and emotionally from life beyond those walls does real harm. There were no real beds to sleep in—only hard surfaces that made rest nearly impossible. Sleep is essential to healing, yet the conditions made true rest unattainable. Mental health treatment should be about healing lives and preserving dignity, not confinement and emotional neglect. What I witnessed and experienced felt wrong on a fundamental level. It should be illegal to treat human beings this way simply because they are suffering. Those of us entrusted with care must act with conviction and humanity. Healing requires heart, presence, and respect. This place fell painfully short.

I was here April 7th 2017 and this place put me in the right mind. Dr. Kelly was an awesome doctor. He made you take responsibility for your actions and gave you the tools to maintain sobriety.

I was a patient back in 2024 and didn’t have a pleasant experience. I appreciate the staff that helped me when I first got there but once I got to my unit, it went downhill. I got there at 9am and didn’t eat until dinner time. Everyone had a menu to choose what they wanted to eat but they forgot about me. I have food restrictions and couldn’t eat the food they gave me for dinner. When I needed assistance, they prescribed me medication that was over 2x the dosage I had been taking prior to my visit. There were a few patients that I felt were neglected. A patient was hunched over in the group room and was falling forward out of their chair! I was the only one nearby and helped her. I walked her to her room and none of the staff offered to help. I literally pulled my back helping this patient. I was happy to help but it didn’t sit well with me that the staff just ignored the whole situation. Also I wasn’t able to take my medication at the times I had been taking prior to my visit. everyone had to take it at a specific time no matter what. They over medicate instead of first helping the patients cope with their symptoms. Its really disheartening. I would only recommend going here if you absolutely have to. There are better resources out there than this hospital.

This place was so great when I had to bring my wife in. The intake staff was particularly helpful and kind (specifically Misty, Jennifer, Veronica, and Joey). They made sure every need of ours was met while waiting for a bed and even brought extra snacks for me without having to ask. Very caring staff!

Never go here. I tried to admit myself due to 15 panic attacks within 7 days. Waited 5 hours (in the middle of multiple panic attacks with family assistance) just for them to tell me I’m «not in crisis enough» to stay. The building is cold and dark, and you essentially HAVE to be suicidal to even be considered their issue. edit: I forgot to mention my paperwork was entirely incorrect, the «coping» skills they taught me was to breathe (loss of breathe was the issue in the first place). They didn’t get either my signature nor a staff members signature for my paperwork. Finally, my emergency contacts were incorrect (was never asked what they were). THIS ESTABLISHMENT DESERVES TO BE SHUT DOWN!

I felt like a number and just a paycheck for the doctor. I didn’t like the experience and I was forced to stay even though I had become stable and mentally well. It was a prison for people with mental health challenges!!!! Never go unless you are ready to give up your right to leave. Even if you sign voluntary paper to only stay for 24 hours. They will keep you as long as they see fit.

Catalog of services offered by rehabilitation centers in Indianapolis
Comprehensive Addiction Assessments
Rehabilitation centers in Indianapolis begin with a comprehensive addiction assessment. This initial evaluation delves into the individual’s substance use history, medical background, mental health status, and social circumstances to determine the appropriate level of care and treatment plan. It’s a crucial step for accurate diagnosis and tailored intervention.
Detoxification Programs
Detoxification programs are often the first phase of rehabilitation. Centers offer medically supervised detox services to manage withdrawal symptoms safely and comfortably, minimizing distress and maximizing patient safety. This phase is vital before initiating more intensive therapy.
Individual Therapy Sessions
One-on-one individual therapy sessions form a core component of most rehabilitation programs. Therapists work with patients to explore the underlying causes of addiction, develop coping mechanisms, address emotional issues, and establish strategies for maintaining sobriety after treatment concludes.
Group Therapy Facilitated Sessions
Group therapy facilitated sessions provide valuable peer support and shared experiences. Participants discuss their challenges, offer encouragement, learn from each other's successes and setbacks, and build a supportive community within the treatment environment. This fosters accountability and reduces feelings of isolation.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Many centers utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help patients identify destructive thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to substance use. CBT equips individuals with practical tools and techniques to manage cravings, prevent relapse, and make healthier choices.
Family Therapy and Support Groups
Recognizing the significant impact of addiction on families, family therapy and support groups are frequently offered. These programs address communication breakdowns, educate family members about addiction, and provide a supportive network to aid in the patient’s recovery journey.
Nutritional Counseling and Wellness Programs
A holistic approach emphasizes overall well-being. Rehabilitation centers offer nutritional counseling and wellness programs designed to support physical health, manage cravings, improve energy levels, and establish healthy lifestyle habits that complement addiction treatment. This includes dietary education and guidance.
Discharge Planning and Aftercare Support
Successful rehabilitation extends beyond the center’s walls. Discharge planning and aftercare support are integral services, outlining a structured plan for continued recovery following discharge. This may include referrals to sober living facilities, outpatient therapy, medication management, and ongoing support groups – ensuring long-term sobriety is achieved.
Frequently asked questions about rehabilitation centers in Indianapolis
What types of addiction treatment programs are typically offered at rehab centers in Indianapolis?
Rehabilitation centers in Indianapolis offer a diverse range of treatment programs tailored to address various levels and types of substance use disorders. Commonly, you’ll find options like detoxification – medically supervised withdrawal management – alongside longer-term residential programs offering intensive therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. Many centers also provide outpatient services for individuals transitioning from inpatient care or those requiring less intensive support. Specialized programs focusing on specific substances like opioids or alcohol are frequently available, alongside options addressing co-occurring mental health conditions – a crucial element in successful recovery.
How long do people typically stay in residential rehabilitation programs?
The duration of a residential rehabilitation program can vary significantly, generally ranging from 30 to 90 days. Shorter programs (30-60 days) are often suitable for individuals with milder addictions or those who have already completed preliminary detoxification. Longer programs (60-90 days) provide more time for in-depth therapy, skill-building, and relapse prevention planning. The decision regarding the length of stay should be made collaboratively between the patient and their treatment team, taking into account the individual’s specific needs, the severity of their addiction, and their commitment to recovery.
What is involved in the detoxification process?
Detoxification at a rehabilitation center typically involves a medically supervised process designed to safely manage withdrawal symptoms. This can include medication administration to alleviate discomfort and reduce cravings. The process carefully monitors vital signs, providing immediate medical attention if complications arise. Detoxification does not address the underlying psychological factors contributing to addiction; it’s often a critical first step preceding more intensive therapy but is rarely sufficient on its own for sustained recovery. A thorough assessment precedes this process to determine appropriate medication and monitoring needs.
What types of therapies are offered during rehabilitation?
Rehabilitation centers utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches to address the root causes of addiction. Alongside CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing, options often include group therapy for peer support and learning coping mechanisms, individual counseling focused on personal challenges and goals, and family therapy addressing the impact of addiction on family relationships. Some centers incorporate alternative therapies like art or music therapy to promote emotional expression and healing. The treatment plan is usually tailored to the individual’s specific needs and preferences.
What happens after I complete a residential rehabilitation program?
Transitioning from inpatient care to the community requires careful planning. Many centers offer aftercare programs, including outpatient therapy, support groups (such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous), and sober living homes. A crucial component is developing a personalized recovery plan with the treatment team, outlining goals, relapse prevention strategies, and ongoing support resources. Regular check-ins with therapists are often scheduled to monitor progress and address any challenges.
How much do rehabilitation programs cost?
The cost of residential rehabilitation programs can vary considerably depending on several factors, including the length of stay, the type of program offered, and whether it’s a private or non-profit facility. Costs often include accommodation, meals, therapy sessions, medical care, and administrative fees. Insurance coverage plays a significant role; many centers accept Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance plans. It's essential to investigate payment options and understand the associated costs thoroughly before starting treatment.
What is sober living?
Sober living homes provide a supportive environment for individuals transitioning from inpatient rehabilitation or seeking ongoing support in recovery. These residences offer structured living arrangements, often with rules and guidelines designed to promote sobriety. They typically provide a sense of community and accountability, fostering connections with peers who understand the challenges of addiction. Sober living is frequently seen as a crucial step towards long-term recovery success.
How do I find a qualified rehabilitation center in Indianapolis?
Locating a suitable rehabilitation center involves careful research and consideration. Start by consulting your primary care physician or a mental health professional for recommendations. Utilize online directories, such as those offered by reputable organizations like the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), to identify centers in Indianapolis that specialize in treating your specific type of addiction. Always verify the center’s accreditation status – look for recognitions from organizations like The Joint Commission – and thoroughly research their treatment philosophy and staff qualifications.
What are some important factors to consider when choosing a rehabilitation center?
Several key factors should influence your decision. Consider the staff qualifications - Are they licensed professionals with specialized training in addiction treatment? Evaluate the program’s evidence-based therapies – Does it utilize approaches proven effective through research? Assess the center's patient-to-staff ratio – Smaller ratios often allow for more individualized attention. Finally, consider the overall atmosphere and whether you feel comfortable and supported by the staff and other residents.
What resources are available in Indianapolis for ongoing support after treatment?
Indianapolis offers a wealth of resources to support individuals in their recovery journey. Numerous support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and SMART Recovery provide peer-to-peer support and guidance. Local mental health clinics offer individual and group therapy services. The Indiana State Department of Health provides information on substance use treatment programs across the state. Accessing these resources – alongside any recommendations from your rehab center – is vital for maintaining long-term sobriety and building a strong recovery network.
