My wife and I got a cab from broad ripple to our house in south broad ripple (about 15 blocks). The driver used a square reader to charge our card. The meter said $8.65. He did not let us use the screen to approve anything, and just said we were good. It seemed a little weird, so once in the house I looked at our account and were charged $86.50! We immediately called gold cab to dispute it. The man asked for details to try and track him down, but said they have no way of tracking the credit card transactions. That's crazy! How do you not have any oversight into your company's charges, especially when the charge on our account says "*gold cab sq." What he told us literally means the drivers and just overcharge people whenever they want without any oversight from their company, and if you call to complain they just tell you to dispute it with your bank. That is no honest business practice, and it needs to be made aware of. The man at the company hung up on my wife as she tried to gather more information, so I'm just trying to get this out there, through here, bbb, and anything else I can think of. Don't use this company!
Terrible customer service! I was at Klipsch, needed a cab and got swarmed by the drivers. So I got in the one cab that the driver wasn't trying to pull me in to. Having been left behind, I was alone, and was pretty distraught. So on the ride home, I was extremely shaken up but just glad I didn't have to walk. My phone must have fallen out of my purse because when I got inside I didn't have it. I called Gold Cab and they said didn't have any way finding out who took me home. While that may have been true, the guy I spoke to was extremely rude and gave me a lecture about how "you people" should know the cab number and pay attention to the driver identification, blah blah blah. Sooooo in the 21st century cab companies evidently have no idea which drivers have been where. That's pretty shady. And thanks for yelling at me first thing in the morning after a horribly upsetting night.
6:15 am flight with a 5:00 am pickup and my driver didn't show up. When I called to see how far away he was dispatch said you didn't answer so he's back in Indy. The phone call at 4:00 am from dispatch to confirm was answered and confirmed - no other calls until I called dispatch. Highly dissapointed and will not use again.
Called 10pm night before to reserve cab for 8:30am next morning to go to funeral. Was told $2 a mile which would have been a $50 fare there and $50 back. $100 total. Was told he would be there. Called again 7am next morning to remind and confirm. Same guy. Didn't know what I was talking about. I got a little upset and was told I could call another company if I didn't' like it otherwise he would be there by 9am. I told him I could still make it if he showed up by 9am. 9:05am no cab. Called. Same guy. Asked me what time he was supposed to pick me up. Told him five minutes ago. After getting address again said he was on his way. No show.
Our driver quoted us 40 dollars from downtown Indy to Noblesville, and once we started driving he said it would be $70. Then he turned off the meter (sketchy) so there was no real way to track our fare. When we got to my house I asked him how we pay and he says "oh you don't have cash?" and seemed put off that we couldn't pay in cash. He then plugged in a Square card reader to his phone. He literally looked at me and says "how much do you want me to charge?" (Clearly he wasn't tracking it at all) and when I asked him he needed to charge what the correct fare was, he says it's 70 dollars, and I'm still not sure how he came to this number, as we all did the math with the sign on the side of the an that displays the rates and it shouldn't have been over 60. I called the number for the company and asked for a manager, and the man I spoke with ignored my request for a manager and couldn't tell me how fare is calculated and eventually told me he had another call he needed answer. I do not feel that this is an honest company. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and will definitely be getting the word out about this as much as possible, as I don't want others getting taken advantage of.
Horrible company. Drivers are reckless. I had an incident where a driver cut me off and I called to report him. The company rep refused to give me his name. Insinuated that I was, and talked over me and cut me off. Save your money people ride with Uber or Lyft.
Gold Cab is a very reliable service. I use them frequently and I like that they call you to update you for arrival times and send drivers in a timely fashion. No waiting game!
