Whitney Perry

My boyfriend and I really like coming to this gym. They are always welcoming and always encouraging to members! One employee for sure who always make sure I am good when I see her around is my girl Bre✨ she handles her job very well and gets it done! Between helping members and help keeping the gym clean is a bonus! Every time I see her at the front desk my mood goes even more up! But as a whole team I appreciate EVERYONE in there !

I’ve been a member of GET FIT for almost a year now and it’s been a fantastic experience. The gym itself is always clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The real game-changer for me, though, has been working with my personal trainer, Chris. All the trainers are incredibly knowledgeable and have a great way of explaining exercises and the science behind them. They created a personalized plan that was challenging but also achievable, and I’ve seen amazing progress. For anyone considering personal training, I highly recommend them!»

Aziaha Deal

I went in planning to do the 3-day free trial, but I ended up getting a membership instead. I’ve been going for about two days now, and my first impression of the gym has been really good. Since I’m new to working out in a gym, having a welcoming environment helped a lot. Chazz was super friendly and talked me through everything, and he always greets me when he’s there, which honestly makes the experience better.

I did my membership online and Mikayla still took the time to show me around. She showed me everything and I really appreciated that. She was very kind and made me feel super welcomed as someone who hasn’t been to the gym in almost 10 years. I give her 5 stars. The gym I’ll give 3 stars. It is a little crowded around 9pm. They do a good job keeping it clean! They don’t have a pool, so the $30 a month shouldn’t be that much considering the amenities are falsely advertised given the website and photos. :/. The sign out front says $9.95. I got the premium membership or premier. && that’s also falsely advertised. I can’t workout 24 hours. So I don’t appreciate the lack of integrity (which has nothing to do with employees & everything to do with the gym.) I like the location. Love the sauna.

It’s fine – I gave this location a chance, but I ended up joining a different gym that opened up recently, for the same monthly price, because of the lack of upkeep here. It always seems like the same machines are broken or misaligned constantly. Patrons leave wipes all over the floor and the cup holders of the cardio machines. The cable accessories and mats are pretty run down and need replacing. Stuff is never where it’s supposed to be and patrons don’t unrack their weights or put things back. There has been a broken mirror in the weight area for a couple months, held together by tape. It looks like they’re starting to do renovations so hopefully these issues can be addressed soon. I usually go during my lunch break and it’s not as crowded as the mornings/evenings but there are people who set up tripods to film. Otherwise people mind their own business. It has all the equipment you need for a good workout. I never got to try the classes, but you get 3 free ones when you sign up. The women’s locker room is always clean. They’ve been better about restocking the wipes recently.

Everything at the gym is great. The equipment and environment are really good. The only suggestion I have is to extend the closing time by one more hour. It would be much better if the gym stayed open until 1 AM instead of closing at 12 AM.

This gym is wonderful. Staff always goes above and beyond to make all members and guest feel not only welcomed but encouraged to achieve whatever goal has brought them to the gym. As a guest in this country I experience many obstacles with my limited grasp of the language. I understand this can be very frustrating to fluent speaking Americans and it makes me nervous. So when people like Kaylah at the 38th st location go out of their way to help someone like me it goes so much further than they can ever imagine. What a wonderful world this would be if everyone had the patience, heart and willingness to take time out of their day to make those of us who feel they are a burden understand we are valued and welcome. Thanks Kaylah your warmth and compassion changes lives daily.

I don’t give out five stars easily, but I’m very impressed with this location. A week ago I joined VASA at the south side location, but I’m closer to this location. Everything was clean and neat. The dry sauna was super hot and the men’s bathroom is the cleanest men’s bathroom I’ve ever seen! I saw a lot of negative reviews for this location and so I’m glad that I went there today to see the reality for myself. It is definitely one of the best gyms you can join( at least this location) I was expecting a dirty bathroom because it’s hard to clean up after men, but I’m really impressed with this gym. Definitely worth my $$ membership. Happy I joined!

I was not a fan of this gym. The steam room was broken. The sauna and steam room are open to both genders, they are not separate. The sauna was so full, people were standing in there. 4 separate people were singing in there. It was unbearable without airpods. I don’t think they monitor if you have the membership that allows sauna/pool access. This gym did not have a cold plunge. I was in the hottub and someone very sweaty got out of the sauna and right into the hottub without showering, gross!!! I will be joining Indianapolis healthplex instead of this nasty place! Also, they act like there are no hidden fees, however you will get charged for canceling if it’s within the first 6mo.

I was refereed to this place by the company I work. It’s a very known company in the city but I will not mention it here. Just understand you should treat everyone with kindness and respect without regards to what they look like. My daughter and I , as well as, my mother were looking forward to starting the New Year off right getting healthy 😊 So my Mom invited me to a stretch class she paid for through the app. She goes through a lot taking care of my sick Grandmother and she needed a break. When I say the lady that was at the front desk who called herself a manager was beyond rude this is an understatement. The way she handled my mother was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. And she also lied about the fact we couldn’t come to the class just because my mother joined VASA Castleton which isn’t opened yet. My Mom was very upset and the interaction and treatment she received was both unnecessary and totally disrespectful. I will be speaking to the community development department with my corporate office to let them know about this location and how people are treated. My Mother is also an executive in healthcare as well with clients all over Indiana and surrounding areas. Hopefully this review reaches the owners and helps them going forward to employee workers who are more diverse and willing to help members who pay for memberships. If the manager with the blonde ombré hair that works at night is any indication of how VASA actually feels about its patrons I don’t see the business staying around in the future. Be careful about treating people a certain way because you think you can due to what they look like it may be the biggest mistake you will make fir yourself and your employer.

Chris Ripperger

Extremely satisfied with my experience at ARC! I was referred here by a fellow member and loved its convenient location. When I walked in for the first time, I knew ARC was going to be different from my previous gym experiences. This is a professional environment with results from hard work and consistency showing up in every corner of the place. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly understanding and empathetic on my «off» days. They also know exactly how to deliver the tough love when I need that, too. I’ve been a member since February 2025 and have lost 50 pounds in that time, but also gained a community and best of all, self respect. Highly recommend 👍

I have been training with Adam for almost a year and learning about body building. He is extremely knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition. Adam cares about his clients and helping them to achieve their health goals. ARC is a great gym for those looking to level up. ARC Fitness has been amazing for my fitness journey. The coaches actually pay attention, the workouts are well thought out, and the environment pushes you without feeling overwhelmed. The people are friendly, the space is clean, and everything runs the way a gym should. I’ve seen real progress since joining, and it’s one of the few gyms I’ve been to where I actually look forward to showing up. Highly recommend.

Arc Fitness is hands down one of the best training experiences I’ve had. From day one, the coaches took the time to understand my goals, my limitations, and what actually motivates me, instead of just throwing me into a generic program. The coaching is professional, attentive, and very detail-oriented. Every session feels purposeful—whether it’s improving strength, fixing movement issues, or building consistency. You can tell they genuinely care about long-term results, not just short-term sweat. The atmosphere is supportive without being intimidating, and the community makes it easy to stay accountable. If you’re serious about improving your health, performance, and confidence, Arc Fitness is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend.

By far one of the best gyms. Adam, the owner has always been a stand up guy with integrity and the drive to help others. It’s not your typical gym as this focuses on personal growth and promotes good energy. They made a profound difference in my life, and I’m very grateful. A+ all the way around from personal fitness, to goals and nutrition.

Staff is friendly and welcoming. Super convenient location. Regardless of the time of day I come in, I have had no issues with competing for space to get my workout done. Cardio equipment is excellent and there is a great variety of exercise machines. I appreciate their emphasis on community and working to help people achieve their goals in a healthy way. They offer a variety of services: personal training, small group training, nutrition guidance, workout programming, and even provide nutritious meals stocked in their fridge that include macros listed for their clients. I am excited to see them continue to grow and build off of what they already have.

As both a local business owner and Early Childhood Educator, I couldn’t be more impressed with Healthplex Gym! The facility is spacious, clean, and thoughtfully maintained, with every amenity you could want — from the fitness equipment and pool to group classes and recovery areas. The staff are genuinely kind and attentive, and you can tell they care about creating a welcoming environment for everyone. What stands out most to me is the positive energy and sense of community here. It’s not just a gym; it’s a place that supports balance, health, and connection. As someone who spends her days caring for others, this has quickly become one of my favorite places to recharge and focus on myself. I also love that they offer discounts for educators and essential workers — that shows real appreciation for the people who keep our communities running. Highly recommend Healthplex Gym to anyone looking for a motivating, inclusive space to invest in their wellness! — Akira German Owner & Executive Director, Totly Childcare Inc.

…i cannot begin to detail the warmth you feel when you enter this gym- clean, professional, friendly, and so welcoming- and as a very plus size woman, i never feel judged or ridiculed- it’s just not that environment here- and recently i was linked with a personal trainer named emily, who has truly become a light in a dark and afraid mind- you never know what someone is going thru- and the ‘open arms feel’ you receive when you walk thru these doors is surreal- from the individuals at the desk, to the women in the locker room, to the pool workout instructors, to the staff in the dining area- there’s just (so) much love here- so blessed to have found it! so what are you waiting for?? please go see for yourself ❤️

I love coming here during the week. Great atmosphere, plenty of machines, and easy location. The only thing I wish was better is that the women’s locker rooms were better maintained and perhaps, modernized. It could use an upgrade, seems a little outdated and dim. It’s not the cleanest gym locker room Ive been to, compared to other locations I’ve been to. I wish the bathrooms were much cleaner and upgraded. I can tell when those actively checks versus who does not. Cleanliness is huge for me. This is a busier location so I understand but it def could use some love for maintenance. Despite that, great location and friendly staff. I also would add as a suggestion to the management team / owner, it would be a great addition to add mirrors into the shower stalls to change. Us girls all share the same giant mirror and some of us enjoy privacy while changing.e

Hello, I am writing to formally report an unresolved billing issue and the lack of support I’ve received trying to address it. I have the basic $10 membership, yet I was charged $30 without a clear explanation. I went to the gym in person to speak with a manager and was told he was available, but I was unable to get assistance. I then called the following day, but no one answered. On my third visit, the front desk informed me the manager was «with his manager.» I began my workout, and when I returned to the front desk, I was told the manager had already clocked out. One of the employees was asked to assist me, but she was not sure how to resolve the issue. I was then asked to write down my name and phone number so the manager could contact me. It has been several days, and I have not received any call or follow-up. This has been very frustrating, especially for a billing issue that should be simple to resolve. I am requesting clarification on the charge, a correction or refund if applicable, and a response regarding this matter as soon as possible. I expect better communication and customer service, and I hope this issue can be resolved promptly. Thank you,

Planet Fitness is just okay. The equipment is fine and it gets the job done, but the experience has gone downhill. They’ve moved the check-in scanner behind the desk, so every single person has to wait for staff before even starting a workout. It creates an unnecessary bottleneck and honestly makes it feel like members aren’t trusted. On top of that, there are no trash cans in the women’s restroom, which is incredibly inconvenient and frustrating, especially for anyone who’s ever had a period and just shows carelessness. Small operational choices like these really impact the overall experience and make the gym feel less member-friendly than it should be. Crunch is sounding better and better.— I left this review a week ago and every item has been addressed. I reflected my 1 star to 5. Thanks for listening to your customers 💜💛

These 5 stars are for Brendon, DeAndre and Kayla alone. Brendon is the only reason I am still a member here, and haven’t taken my business to another gym. There was a worker there that got my account all the way backwards, messed up stuff, and unnecessarily wasted 30 mins of my time! Brendon got everything all worked out and straight with my account, and all over the phone at that!!! THANK YOU BRENDON!!!!! Kayla is just a sweetheart! She always welcomes you in, and tells you to have a good workout- She’s a hard worker!!! DeAndre was helping me out on the phone today, along with Brendon, and I’m very grateful for him also!!!! Managers of Planet Fitness—- please address the issues that Brendon had to fix for me!!! He knows what happened!!!!

There’s really nothing special as far as equipment that sets this place apart from any other Planet Fitness, but I’m giving this place 2 stars because the employees here are ALWAYS rushing people out BEFORE closing time, and it’s extremely annoying. If the place closes at 7:00, they start nagging at 6:45 cause they want you gone by 6:55 so they can, I guess, get home 5 minutes faster than they would if they had just let people stay until the closing time listed. And yeah, I get that it’s only five minutes, but that’s exactly my point. I get that we all would rather be somewhere that’s not work, but if you HAVE to ABSOLUTELY be home by 7:05 or 7:10 or whatever and you CANNOT arrive 5 minutes later than that time ever, then maybe you shouldn’t be taking the shifts that end at 7:00. I know they have closing duties, but I’ve also had closing duties when I worked at various restaurants over the years, and we NEVER started kicking customers out early just so we could get done with them faster. That’s just poor etiquette.

Once again we showed up for our morning workout and the gym was still closed, even though it was supposed to be open. This has happened multiple times in the last 90 days, which is really disappointing. At this point I do not feel I can rely on this gym. Cars out here waiting, completely disrespectful and waste of everyone’s time. They have some serious issues with their staff.

I have a membership. I have moved and tried to cancel it for two years. I called, sent email messages and stopped by to cancel. stopping by is hard because I am not near the area but when I stop during business hours by there was never anyone there who could cancel. Many times there is just a key code to enter so nobody on duty to cancel to, calls are never returned, and emails are ignored. Finally my credit card expired an now I get invoices to pay and email them back i need to cancel. these are ignored also and a couple of days later. nice equipment but shady practices. No problems at Livrite across the street.. Livrite was great to work with (and has a pool)

Hands-down, the best gym in Indy! Jimmie is a great owner! He really does care about the gym community! He doesn’t play around when he says he brings nothing but the best gym equipment in. Does tons of research on old school bodybuilding gym equipment. This place is a bodybuilders dream! You have to come and check it out! Real awesome owner again! This is the only gym you need!

Are you tired of going to a gym where you feel like just a number on a spreadsheet? Or do you feel like your membership dues are just being pocketed and never put back into the facility? If so you need to come and give Peak a try. From the moment you walk in you will feel like part of the Peak family. Peak has equipment for everyone no matter what your fitness goals are. The owner Jimmie is one of the greatest people you will ever meet. He truly has a passion for fitness and the community inside the gym. He is friendly and extremely knowledgeable so if you need a spot on a lift or help using some of the new equipment he is always willing to help out. Jimmie’s passion for the gym shows mostly in the equipment that he curates for the gym. He finds the best equipment that is used by some of the biggest names in the fitness industry. It is like seeing the membership dues being put to good use in constant improvements in the gym. I can’t say enough good things about out the gym and its staff. If you are looking for a positive change of pace in your fitness journey then you have to stop in and give Peak a try.

This an updated. review since Brad, the owner died. A close friend with an interest in weightlifting inherited the gym and enlisted a friend with extensive experience in opening and running gyms to manage Peak. Jimmy is a great guy who knows his members. In addition to some cosmetic work (painting, new carpet in the locker rooms, reorganizing the space so it’s more open), he’s also been upgrading the weight machines for people into bodybuilding and weightlifting. Jimmy is constantly on the look for better equipment and has collected some rare but very effective machines. I’m always looking forward to his next upgrade. The benches have all been reupholstered and the duct tape is gone, since I joined 5 years ago. All the top line powerlifting equipment from the past is still there and a few pieces have been added.

I’ve been a member a little over two years now and I love the place. I’m a college student, which Peak offers a discount for. Peak has much better equipment and a much better environment than my gym at school or any other gym I’ve been to. The people at Peak push you to be your best self, but also offer endless support. As long as I’m in Indy, I’ll belong to Peak.

I started at INFitness early/middle February 2026. I have gone almost every single week day since I joined. My sister raved about the hot pilates class and then someone I follow on Instagram posted about a free trial week, and I was hooked. After having 4 boys since 2020(a set of twins in the middle), it was hard to find motivation to go to a gym I didn’t feel like I fit in at, but that was not the case at INFitness. They take care of the whole family here- sauna and well laid out equipment for mom and dad, PT for injuries, mom care with Nurture pre and post- natal care, and FREE CHILDCARE while you workout on site. This is a place I will continue to come to, not just because of its convenient location. It is worth every penny to show my boys that as a mom I can do hard things and stay consistent. Kids watch how their parents take care of themselves.

I’ve historically had to maintain two memberships or choose between gyms when engaging with functional fitness and mobility work. Fast forward and now I a mom and need to also include childcare in my list of requirements for a gym. INFit has it ALL! They have fair prices, excellent equipment and facilities, group classes, and amenities like a sauna and childcare that set it above anything else I’ve experienced locally or otherwise. Beyond that, they make holistic healthcare accessible by having PT and a functional med provider colocated on site. This makes the difference in me being able to access the care I need routinely and was so thoughtfully curated for members. As a mom, these aspects mean so much to me to feel supported and I am happy to support this local business!!

IN Fitness is the premier place to workout in Indianapolis. John & Jack were fantastic as I needed a place to lift for a week while in town on business. The gym is clean, wide open, great cardio bay, group fitness area, HIIT turf areas as well as state of the art Olympic racks. The equipment is brand new and barely used- I was spoiled by possibly the best facility I have ever entered. The staff, what can I say- they make you feel at home as soon as you step in. Was on a first name basis by the end of the week with the majority of staff. A hidden gem is the recovery room- 3 cold plunges at different temps depending on your preference, the best massage chair I’ve ever seen (it scans your body for problem areas and provides a custom experience) infrared sauna, foam rollers and lacrosse ball area. This gym is something special, the staff is constantly improving the facility, searching for feedback for what could be added and genuinely interested in their members health and activity level. If you are in the Far Northside/Carmel area of Indianapolis, stop in and see for yourself. Any workout you could imagine can and will be crushed here. Shoutout to John & Jack for being great hosts! You two made this experience great 👏

The staff at IN Fitness Club goes above and beyond to be sure members are happy and have what they need to be as fit as possible. The equipment, space, and amenities make you feel like you are at a country club. There never seems to be waiting for equipment. The staff are always cleaning so it is spotless. Dan and Tara are the physical therapists on staff and I have been to both of them. Incredible expertise and they have gone out of their way to make me healthy and get through any physical issues or limitations. I am so grateful to everyone there for providing a wonderful experience that makes you want to go work out. Highly recommend IN Fitness Club!! Special shoutout to Tessa and Crystal as well. The customer service is outstanding!

I’m just getting back into the gym and working out and have now been to this gym a couple of times. The owner and her daughter have been more then welcoming, creating a comfortable environment. The classes have been perfect for all fitness levels, offering challenging variations with modifications if needed. This gym is truly a gem that embodies community and support. I wholeheartedly give it a five-star rating and recommend it to anyone looking for a positive workout experience!

I’ve been working out at Taylor Made Wellness for close to three years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. It is a clean gym that has everything I need and a culture of family! Kelsey makes efforts to get to know her clients personally, welcoming my kids even, at times when I couldn’t have worked out without them present. Everyone at this gym is so supportive of each other – it really is an encouraging place to be. Highly recommended!

Everything you need in a small gym. I first came to Taylor made looking for an experienced personal trainer that would take me to the next level. Boy did I get more than I bargained for. The gym offered me so much support. Having personal training in the past. The gyms itself wasn’t as supportive. I would get the training but not the gym. Either the gym wasn’t equipped with the machines for personal use after training or the gym itself was not convenient to my location. So after the personal training, I was left to search for another place to workout. Conveniently located downtown, this gym was everything that I needed. Not only did it push me to the next level but create a lifestyle of health and fitness. Kelsey is very knowledgeable of health and wellness and always there(between normal business hours) to give you a helping hand with great advice and suggestions. And if personal training isn’t something you are looking for group training classes are also available. If you are looking for a gym that can push you, motivate you and create an everlasting impression on Health and Wellness, give Taylor Made a visit. You will not be disappointed.

Love the atmosphere here! It has the small-town gym character where everyone is super friendly toward one another and everyone is there to have a good workout. Despite it’s size, it has lots of equipment and it’s never packed. The owner, Kelsey, is very kind and passionate about her business and helping you achieve whatever your workout goals are.

Visited while in town for work. Classic strength gym with a friendly atmosphere. Nothing fancy, but has everything you need to get a great training session in. But there are DBs up to 150#! Kelsey offers group strength training classes on Monday, Wed and Sat and that group was crushing it! I’ll be back for sure

If you are looking for a 24 hour with an insanely convenient location for downtown residence then look no further than this Anytime Fitness location! Located one floor above Prime 47 is a gym that might not be the biggest by square footage but let me tell you it has EVERYTHING you need to get a great workout in. You might be thinking that a smaller gym means more crowded or having to wait around for machines/equipment to free up however that is the furthest thing from the truth. Cavin (Owner/Operator/Personal Trainer) does a great job at forging a family like atmosphere where you feel comfortable going up to other members and asking them to work in with them while they are resting or just asking for advise. I highly recommend this gym to all levels of gym rats, whether its your first time ever picking up a weight or if you have been a consistent gym goer for the last 20 years…all ages and experience levels feel welcome here!

Enjoyed working out here very much! The gym has everything I need, it can be accessed for 24/7, and it does not get too busy during the daytime anyways, meaning you can definitely get your workouts done despite it might not be the largest gym you have ever been to. Very warm staff here who take great care of the gym, and a special shoutout to Cavin who is awesome and is my personal trainer. He listens and understands my needs, and tailors the workout plans accordingly. I was also able to push my limits constantly with both his knowledge and support (physical and moral), and I have been very happy with the results! Definitely recommending checking this place out if you want somewhere to work out and a trustworthy personal trainer in downtown!

We needed a place for our pitchers to get a lift in when we were on the road. The gym was super accommodating and took care of us. Got us an access key for after hours. It’s a great place to be if you need a gym

23July24 Cavin is great. He has worked at this Anytime location, For over eight years. he has a great story. I like this location and I certainly did not realize how big it was. After 5:30 each day, the building closes. If you plan to work out after, then, you must pay for the device, that is used to enter the building. This location is conveniently located. It’s a less than half a mile from the Indiana convention center and may be a quarter mile from Circle city Mall. I like how this location is organized. They have a relatively new water fountain.

I joined this gym on the old adage of «you get what you pay for». Well, I can honestly say now that our $191/mo can be better spent somewhere else. Like some of the other reviews, the loudness in the early morning of centralized classes is a turn off and disruptor to the member just quietly going about their 6:30 workout. Regarding the equipment, there are multiple cardio machines not functioning or completely turned off, or…you’ll start your workout on a treadmill and it will randomly stop and shut down. The other day I put my water bottle in the treadmill cup holder only to have it fall through to the ground (there wasn’t a bottom to it). Now I check as several more are just like it. The water in the men’s locker room is lukewarm at best and the toilets and showers are dated. The cold plunge has been out of order for nearly a month with no end in sight and a lot of the plates on the plate loaded machines stick together only to crash down mid set. With repeated yearly rate hikes, dirty areas throughout, and them canceling one of the only classes I enjoyed – Sunday AM spin – there is money better spent elsewhere. I’m sure the brand new gym that just opened down the street will do well offering nearly everything that Lifetime offers at $45/mo. Not sure how much longer I’ll be sticking around unfortunately.

This location will charge you $150 per month and have ZERO problems scheduling group classes that take up all the newest and nicest equipment AT THE BUSIEST TIMES OF THE DAY. At some point Lifetime Corporate will hop on here and provide a generic, corporate response to this review justifying why they do this. This place should not have «blackout» times barring customers who pay good money to have access to the nice equipment they joined the gym to use in the first place. I also had to repeatedly report a creep in the men’s locker room multiple times. Each time they only spoke to them and let them go on creeping people out another day. I think they finally got rid of this person, but it took this creep showing up to the gym piss drunk as well as a new report of him doing inappropriate things in the locker room to finnnaaaalllllyyyyyyy get kicked out. (I think, I will not know for certain). WiIl be canceling and never considering this chain again.

Best selection of machines I’ve seen compared to most Lifetime locations. This location is a little dated in some regards, but overall a great location. There is no massive open area upstairs like most locations, but instead that area is full of equipment and machines. I like how they utilized the space to accommodate more strength training. Well maintained equipment and good experience overall.

John Patterson ☆ 4/5

By far the most I’ve spent on a gym membership, only went here for the amenities. They’re all good but you could drive 10 minutes towards Carmel and pay half the price for the same stuff. Still a great gym though, they have a lot of exclusive features for their gym. I give them that, overall good!

The lifetime I normally go to is under remodel. And let me start off by saying the staff at both are great always kind and on it. But I’m about ready to cancel and move on. The gym is strangely organized. But I can deal with that. But why do you have a class on Friday mornings with a handful of people in the middle of the gym. Its called Alpha and the only thing Alpha about it is the extremely loud instructor. I get classes but why don’t they have over the ear heaphones for the instructor to talk to them. I’m not the only one who is irritated by it, just have a staff member walk around and ask during it like I did. I’ll also say that the class in the treadmill area isn’t like that, its not as loud and its softened by the walls. You would think the large classroom would be big enough to run a line of squat racks down it for the class. Unfortunately for us who have jobs that start at certain times we can’t change to accomodate. So leaving is likely the only option.

Frequently asked questions about gyms in Indianapolis

What types of gyms are available in Indianapolis?

Indianapolis offers a diverse range of gym options. You’ll find large commercial gyms like Life Time Fitness and YMCA locations, offering extensive equipment and group classes. There are also many boutique fitness studios specializing in specific disciplines such as CrossFit, spin, yoga, barre, and boxing. Don't forget about smaller, more intimate independent gyms that often cater to a particular neighborhood or fitness niche. Researching your options is the first step to finding the right fit.

How much do gym memberships typically cost in Indianapolis?

Gym membership costs in Indianapolis vary greatly depending on the type of gym and the level of access you desire. Basic monthly memberships at YMCA locations can start around $20-$40. Mid-range commercial gyms often range from $30 to $80 per month, while premium memberships with access to exclusive classes and amenities can cost $80 to $200 or more. Boutique studios frequently have higher monthly fees, typically ranging from $100 to $300, depending on the class schedule and offered services. Consider your budget and desired amenities when comparing prices.

What types of group fitness classes are offered at Indianapolis gyms?

Indianapolis gyms offer a wide variety of group fitness classes designed to appeal to different interests and fitness levels. You'll commonly find options like Zumba, Spin, Yoga, Pilates, Barre, HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), Boxing, and CrossFit. Some gyms offer specialized classes such as aerial yoga, kickboxing, or dance fitness. Many gyms now offer virtual classes as well, expanding your options.

Do gyms in Indianapolis offer personal training services?

Many gyms in Indianapolis offer personal training services, typically through certified personal trainers. These trainers can create customized workout plans, provide guidance and motivation, and help you achieve your fitness goals. The cost of personal training sessions varies depending on the trainer's experience and the gym’s rates, but generally ranges from $40 to $80 per hour. Look for trainers with certifications from reputable organizations.
