This is a very beautiful Temple. All of the statues are hand made, inside and outside of the temple. I have never seen so much beautiful pieces of work in my life. Every piece of each statutes inside, outside, on the walls, gods, roof, are hand made by individuals from India. I was told that it a group of individuals who traveled from India and lived in the basement of temple a few years to hand make each piece in the temple. Each piece was made to perfection. If you are ever invited to visit this temple, I can promise you will not be disappointed.

The pantry is staffed by people that are as friendly, accommodating, and efficient as they can be. Some of the people visiting the pantry, on the other hand act in somewhat ungrateful ways and use inappropriate language. In spite of this the staff are supremely accommodating and friendly in the face of some of this disrespectful behavior. The staff, who I assume to be volunteers, are a shining example of what Christian loving kindness should be. I am grateful for that. And I take every opportunity to express that gratitude.

This is a wonderful modest place where friends and visitors study the word of the true God Jehovah God. They participate in discussions and encourage each other. They take seriously the Bible’s commission to Preach God’s kingdom so they learn how to do that effectively and lovingly. This is a dynamic organization where all baptized Witnesses are preachers who do not get paid to do so. They invite any person who wants to learn the word of God. No contributions are ever taken.

First impressions on Google make this look like a modest space for spiritual practice. In reality, the location is in a residential space and looks very sketchy. I signed up for the intro to Buddhism class, which was abruptly canceled right before the class began. I’m not convinced it’s even a legitimate location. I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

We Are Not Our Mistakes

I’m giving this place 1 star not out of aggravation but disappointment. I tried to connect to the beginners class on zoom and no one started the meeting. I’ve sent several emails asking about their practice and also why no one was conducting the zoom meeting and I have not recieved any responses. I’ve also left 2 messages by phone with no response at all. For all I know, this place is not currently operational, though I have seen nothing online that would suggest that. Its a pity, I wanted to study under a teacher and incorporate Buddhism into my own life.

I have been Buddhist for quite some time, but I’ve only ever practiced Zen. A good friend of mine invited me to IBC, and I must say these people are amazing. They were so kind and welcoming. I didn’t know what I was doing but they guided me through it. I did not feel like an out case at all. Also, Geisha-la is very kind as well, he made us all tea, with a smile on his face the whole entire time. I highly recommend you check this center out, they are the best Buddhist place I have been to so far! I will be returning every Saturday.

Currently I have no review to give, just a message to pass. Into hoagland did arrive … A monkey carrying a great message of importance did arrive into the foreign tribe with the message. The monkey understood this tribe to be nearly blind and so used simple vibrations to get their attention. The foreign tribe recognized the vibrations and were stunned and frightened and instead of listening to the message ran off the foreign monkey. The monkey is a man coming into other men, who are so blind and yet so simple, they have even in their blindness on the spot, banned simple monkey language. Awake to truth … INTO YOUR TEMPLE DID ARRIVE … a monkey with message of great important. And so was ejected this monkey. Let truth be spoken. Satnam.

Frequently asked questions about language schools in Indianapolis

What types of languages are typically offered at language schools?

Language schools in Indianapolis generally offer a diverse range of languages to meet varying needs. Commonly taught languages include Spanish, which is consistently one of the most popular choices, followed by French, German, Italian, and Chinese (Mandarin). Some schools may also specialize or offer courses in less common languages such as Russian, Japanese, or even Korean. The availability of specific languages often depends on the school’s size and its target demographic.

How much do language classes typically cost?

The cost of language classes in Indianapolis can vary considerably depending on several factors – including the level of instruction (beginner, intermediate, advanced), the duration of the course (short-term intensive programs versus longer term commitments), and the school’s reputation. Generally, introductory level courses might range from approximately $300 to $600 per session or semester. More specialized classes, such as business language or exam preparation, could be priced higher, often exceeding $800 - $1200 for a full academic year. It's always wise to compare prices across different schools.

What is the typical class size?

Class sizes at Indianapolis language schools can differ significantly depending on the program and the school itself. Smaller, more intimate settings – often with a maximum of 10-12 students – are common in private language schools or specialized courses focused on individual needs. Larger schools, particularly those offering group classes for beginners, might accommodate up to 25 students per session. The teacher-to-student ratio is a key factor that influences the quality of instruction and personalized attention.

What level of experience do language teachers have?

The qualifications and experience levels of language instructors can vary widely between schools. Many Indianapolis language schools employ certified native speakers who possess formal education in linguistics, foreign languages, or teaching methodologies. Some schools prioritize practical experience over academic credentials, focusing on educators with extensive immersion experiences in the target countries. It's important to inquire about a teacher’s teaching certifications and their specific experience instructing students at your desired level.

Are there different learning methods used?

Language schools utilize various teaching methodologies to cater to diverse learning styles. Common approaches include communicative language teaching (emphasizing real-world communication skills), the Grammar Translation Method (focusing on grammatical rules and translation), and task-based learning (where students learn through completing specific tasks). Some schools may integrate technology, such as interactive whiteboards and online resources, into their lessons. The best approach will depend on your individual learning preferences.

What kind of support do language schools provide for exam preparation?

For students preparing for standardized language exams like the DELE (Spanish), the DELF/DALF (French), or the TestDaF (German), many Indianapolis language schools offer dedicated exam preparation courses. These courses typically include targeted grammar and vocabulary instruction, practice tests, and strategies for tackling the specific format and difficulty of the exams. Some schools also provide access to online resources and mock exams.

Can I participate in conversation groups or cultural events?

Many Indianapolis language schools offer conversation groups outside of regular class hours, providing students with opportunities to practice their speaking skills in a relaxed setting. Furthermore, some schools organize cultural events – such as film screenings, culinary experiences, and trips to local cultural centers – designed to immerse students in the target language and culture. These activities can greatly enhance the learning experience.

What is the schedule like for classes?

Language school schedules in Indianapolis are diverse, reflecting the varying needs of students. Options include weekday evening classes, weekend courses, and intensive summer programs. Some schools offer flexible scheduling options – such as part-time courses or drop-in sessions – allowing students to tailor their learning experience to their individual commitments. It's important to carefully review the schedule to ensure it aligns with your availability.

Do language schools provide materials and resources?

Typically, language schools supply students with a range of essential materials and resources, including textbooks, workbooks, audio recordings, online access, and supplementary exercises. The specific materials provided can vary depending on the course level and the school’s curriculum. Some schools may also offer additional resources such as flashcards, dictionaries, and grammar guides. It's beneficial to confirm what’s included when you enroll.

What is the commitment required for language learning?

Successfully learning a new language requires consistent effort and dedication. The commitment needed varies depending on your goals – whether it’s conversational fluency, academic proficiency, or professional skills. Regular attendance at classes, completing homework assignments, and practicing outside of class are all essential components. Setting realistic expectations and maintaining motivation are key to achieving your language learning objectives.
