Great low cost option. Despite seeming quite busy, they were very attentive. Drop off and pick up went smoothly and reasonably quickly. I was surprised how much of the ear was tipped, so be sure you know what that will look like before you choose it. Definitely obvious for anyone who spots and outdoor or community cat though! Will use them again.

set up an appointment to get our kitten neutered & microchipped. super impressed with how organized their facility is with being so high volume. parking is a little difficult but i expected that knowing how many spays/neuters they do. waited about 20 minutes in our car & then got a call to come inside. a member of their staff explained the process every step of the way. we got a call when he was out of surgery letting us know he did well & if we wanted to pick him up early. super happy with the care they provided! will recommend! (picture of our kitten stan just because 😁)

Tell it like it is

Love this place. They really care about your animals. They explain everything well. There’s even a free dog/ cat food table. Prices are very low and reasonable. Most of the help is very nice. It is crowded and loud. Cats and dogs everywhere. Just watch the floor because animals are nervous and have accidents.

Didn’t understand the miscommunication in getting a yearly or 3 yr rabies shot , they asked if I wanted 3 year, I stated yes, thank you, lady who brought out my cats stated miscommunication Hercules got only 1 year rabies, what was the miscommunication, also didn’t understand why others were going before me, when appointments are scheduled, didn’t know kittens had to have brief exam. I understood why I had to wait after I asked. Last visit to face when mooshoo was given medication and I asked someone if they could help me give it to him, a guy stated no,they couldn’t help, but time before a lady was so kind to help me, 2nd visit not so pleasant, I ask if no one can help me can the vet, he stated no, they are busy. Crying and very sad no one would help, just stood there looking at me. Ever since when ella one of my cats got fixed there, the service is not as good as it used to be.

Awesome! Place to go once you get there. Everyone is helpful. Friendly, larger and lots of seating. Everything moves fairly quickly. I was surprised. Takes a while to check out but and they got to make sure everything’s right.

FACE is fantastic!! For as busy as they are, they are efficient and the staff is very friendly! I’ve had 3 stray kittens end up in our garage in the past 2 years and have brought all of them to FACE for spay/neutering and micorchip. The cost of services can’t be beat! I also made a donation to FACE to «pay it forwrd» for others. BRAVO, FACE!!👏💙❤️😊🫶

FACE was highly recommended to me for reasonably priced services for my kittens by abdriend. She participates in CNR and takes them to FACE for their care. I did notice that the rowdier the dog, the sooner they will be treated/attended to. I did not like that they take my kittens one-by-one to the back and I cannot be with them when they received their vaccinations. Prices are very reasonable! Spay/neuter cats is $135. Most feline vaccines are $20-25 each. They also have assitances for those who are financially short to care for their pets. Overall, I would recommend them.

This place is great. Wish I could give more then 5 stars. I take all 3 of my girls here. My oldest is sick and they take such good care of her. She is in all the time because of it and the staff is awesome and so caring. She is so good because they are perfect with her. While my youngest is the devil. Dog hates the vet but they try so hard with her. Very patient and understanding. I will always keep going here.

Took in my girl skye for an issue with her eyes and a new spot on her side. They got us in a few days after calling put her on meds and took a biopsy everything is on the up and up. She is doing better the results came back good news. We will return I have been using this vets office for over 15 years Dr. Canada has seen many of my animals over the years and the staff is always so great.

Our regular vet couldn’t get us in so they suggested here. We made an appointment on a Monday for that Wednesday. They were absolutely wonderful with my baby girl. Got her all fixed up and bragged on how good she was. I would definitely recommend this place. Everyone was super sweet and you could tell they cared. I am truly grateful.

Not sure where to start except they were exceptional and amazing from start to finish. Cara and Megan were wonderful and as well as Dr fitzwater and Pagan. They saved my sweet old boy w a bowel obstruction who had eaten all kinds of crazy stuff and have checked on him numerous times. Also have given me a good detailed plan moving forward to prevent this! Grateful 🙏🏼 we already take all of our pets there but I highly recommend 1000%

Came to Brookville after being recommended here by my HVAC repair man! I am very happy with my experience here for my cat compared to another animal hospital in Indy. All the staff were very kind, knowledgeable, and able to answer questions, or willing to find out answers to my questions if they didn’t know right off the bat. They were also able to schedule him for dental cleaning/extraction 1 day after his annual wellness checkup, very communicative the day of surgery, and most importantly, costs were reasonable. Today is POD#1, and Elbert is doing very well. Will continue bringing him here and highly recommend BRAH to anyone who is new to the area and wants a good, reliable vet like they had back home.

I take both my dogs here and they are wonderful. I have 2 pitbull mixes one has severe allergys and the other is a sweetheart UNTIL she goes to the vet and then she turns into Hannibal Lecter. She’s always been this way with any vet so it’s nothing about them specifically. They do such an amazing job with her! I trust them with both my girls and I’m not very trusting where my girls are concerned. We are blessed to have such caring and knowledgeable veterinarians. The entire staff here is great. Always helpful, kind, pleasant, and attentive. I highly recommend them.

I took my pet Molly to Michigan St Vet Clinic, and from the moment we walked in, we were treated with kindness and compassion. The front desk staff was so sweet and helpful, and we were taken back quickly. After being told by another vet—after a $1,033 visit—that nothing could be done for my 12-year-old dog’s grade 4 heart murmur, I was devastated. Dr. Sam was an absolute angel. She was gentle with Molly, truly listened, explained everything clearly, and gave me hope. Molly was diagnosed with mitral valve disease and was prescribed the heart medication she needed without overcharging. I’m incredibly grateful to the entire staff at Michigan St Vet Clinic for taking such great care of my baby. ❤️🐾

I have visited here a few times for different reasons and pets. I’ve had a great experience every time. The prices are reasonable and I feel like they really care about the animals which is most important to me. I think the check in process is as close to seamless as it can be for a walk in only veterinary clinic and they keep their website current so you always know when they’re open. I Highly recommend them.

What in the world does someone have to do to get an answer on the phone. Its sad that I’ve called no less than 12 times back to back and unable to get an answer. You all refuse to listen to the pet parent and now my dog is ill and has to suffer for more days because you all will not answer the phone or listen when we ask for testing. I really wanna like this clinic. The pricing is good and yall are nice people. But you guys are making it hard. Friendly staff doesn’t make up for the suffering of my babies. I am willing to bet that there isnt going to be any help offered or any discounts offered for my other dog that is now ill because you guys refused to listen to the pet parent expressing concern and asking for testing. On 12/23/25 I was recommended to go to this clinic because my dog Mr. Peanut Rocket was extremely sick! I waited in tht parking lot from 630am until the doors opened at 9am. I was worried and upset running off no sleep because My dog kept vomiting and not eating for like 2-3 days so when we finally got in, the staff was extremely nice and welcoming. We were taken back in under 30 mins. They did an X-ray and labs. I was concerned about the bill because I was already low in funds because it was the holidays so they came back with the price and diagnosis and worked with me on my bill because I couldn’t afford it. After we worked that out, I was given medicine to take home and he was also given an IV because he was dehydrated. He was fine after 48 hrs just like they said!!!! I just want to say thank you guys so much for saving him. I don’t know what I would have done without you guys. My schnauzer is my 3rd child. You are truly God sent. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU 😊 🙏🏾😘

The vet techs and office people were really good but the woman dr ruined my whole experience. I’ve came here multiple times for multiple different situations with my animals and have been bringing my elderly dog here for his stress induced seizures. The doctor that came in our room today as rude, judge-mental and totally unprofessional. Comments that were totally unnecessary uncalled for and totally irrelevant. I brought my dad’s dog here for yearly shots with a couple of concerns aswell. The doctor also had no idea what medication THEY prescribed my dog and proceeded to get an attitude with me when I couldn’t remember the names of them. Last time I checked I wasn’t the vet. This is the most unprofessional experience I have ever had here and I’m not sure we’ll come back again.

My boy got really sick on 03/02/26. When he started bloody diarrhea I brought him here.. Everyone was pleasant. I trust the care he received. The only issue I had was the wait. Yes I understand they take patients in order of situation. My dog was dehydrated and couldn’t keep anything down. We spent 7 hours here. I think they should have more doctors/ staff. They also were not very good about updating me or giving any timelines. I’m not sure I will go here in the future if he has another attack. I appreciate the care but my little dog needed care too in a timely manner.

I took my cat Adam to see Dr Summers for elevated lab tests & to have an ultrasound. She is an excellent vet who answered all my questions & was very thorough in her explanation of his condition. Her & the vet tech were very compassionate & caring. I highly recommend them. I am confident in their care of my baby. Adam also had an Endoscopy & is doing well after the procedure.

.We met with Dr. James to discuss concerns about possible anal cancer in our dog, Baxter. Dr. James was very informative and clearly explained all possible outcomes, which was exactly what I needed. After the exam, Dr. James explained that there were no signs of cancer, but biopsy samples were taken for further analysis. We were told we would receive the results within 7–10 days. I’m very grateful to have Indy Vet and their wonderful staff available to reach out to when needed.

Arrived at 11:30 pm – my cat had 2 seizure-like episodes prior to arrival. We were placed in a room right away and seen in order of urgency. A staff member would come in periodically to check on us. Dr was very good at listening to my concerns and what I remembered happened. They examined Mimzy, I found inner ear infection was probably cause. Put her on antibiotics and steroids with follow-up instructions. We were discharged at around 5am. 2 days later, Mimzy is showing signs of improvement. I am pleased with the efficiency and caring attitude of staff. They put me at ease right away. I was given a partial refund of my deposit, for actual services rendered. I got a follow-up email as well. I would definitely recommend them for any urgent care.

IndyVet did an amazing job with emergency surgery for our 13 year old doggo, Tucker. He came in with a mucocele in his gallbladder, and Dr Kloft went over literally everything with us, including talking to us in person for over an hour going over potential outcomes (good and bad) and let my wife and I make the best possible decision. He was in surgery for what felt like forever, but when we got the call from Dr Kloft that everything went well, it was a relief! At his 10 day check at his regular vet back in Fort Wayne, the surgery site is healing amazingly, and he is back to his old goofball self. The 4 week recovery is much harder on us with telling Tucker «no, you can’t do that» than I think it is on him. We are now 2 weeks in and you wouldn’t know he had pretty significant surgery by the way he acts now. The entire staff here is wonderful. Front desk staff on check in were very friendly, the nurses and techs who checked in on him while waiting for admission were great, Dr Fisher who did his admission was very friendly as well. If you have an emergency and your pet needs surgery, definitely come here.

I will be honest, in the current climate I have been skeptical of IndyVet (or any emergency vets) because of a few institutions’ tendencies to be a little predatory. However, I truly had a phenomenal experience with the neuro department at IndyVet. My 5 year old corgi Ruthie «went down» with IVDD during a giant snowstorm and I wasn’t able to get her from Bloomington to Indianapolis until several days after she became paralyzed in her back end. We worked with Dr. Tadros and her neuro team and it was honestly an even better experience than I could say I’ve had with my personal doctors. Dr. Tadros was kind, clear, realistic, and exceptionally caring. Her nurses were so patient and gentle and explained Ruthie’s treatment and long-term care needs to me in explicit detail. Dr. Tadros called me herself multiple times to give updates on Ruthie’s condition and while I was heartbroken and terrified, I felt very much supported through the whole experience. I cannot recommend Dr. Tadros, Nurse Kelsey, and Nurse Melissa enough if your fur baby is suffering from IVDD or any sort of spinal issue. —— IndyVet – this part is for you – I had a not-great interaction upon arrival with the lady with a brownish-gray bob and glasses at the front desk who made a really bad-taste joke about how my «credit card was going to be getting a workout» as I was checking in my paralyzed dog for emergency spinal surgery. I was honestly speechless to which she essentially responded with «she knows, that’s why she doesn’t have anything to say!» I found it to be a very jarring way to start my journey at IndyVet and would hope no one else has to deal with that. However, outside of my interactions with her, I had a really really great experience in the face of a really awful situation. I am very grateful, truly.

Dr. Stevick is the kindest, most caring vet and person!! She takes time to listen to all concerns, and is so sweet and supportive. Ralphie the cat loved her and she figured out why he was limping and thoroughly explained it to me and showed me on the x-rays. It means so much to me that she had so much patience and kindness during the entire visit. She’s a wonderful human, and I could not be more grateful for her! The rest of the staff was so sweet as well, checking on me and Ralphie multiple times! If you want top tier quality for your pet, this is the place to be!!!

My dog Hachi goes to this clinic, Dr. Barr is an outstanding veterinarian. She takes the time to listen and thoroughly explain treatment options, she and her team are really good communicators. The office staff is also efficient, friendly, and helpful with scheduling and questions. I found a husky yesterday in the neighborhood, with no collar/tags, and took him to this clinic to scan for microchip, not only they scanned for it but also went through the trouble to make few calls to find out who the current owner was, saved me lot of time.

Noah’s Westside is amazing! My pup experienced GDV (bloat) during the big winter storm. We arrived and they promptly diagnosed my dog within minutes even when short staffed. They were able to give me an estimate that was very detailed and outlined all possible outcomes. They are very transparent and keep communication open! I highly recommend their services if your pet is needing special care. Thanks to their amazing staff my pup was able to make it home just a few short days later. Thank you everyone!

We took our dog in after hours (approximately 10pm). After our initial assessment by the Vet Tech, we were left in our room for over 2.5 hours before any one came in. Only after my husband went out into the hallway to find someone did they come in. However, when they finally did come in to see us, they brought a bill for approximately 3,800. At this point, our dog had not been seen, diagnosed, or been given a prognosis. Aside from the dog never being properly evaluated, the price was insane to say the least. When we explained the cost was too high, the Vet Tech said they were going to meet with the Vet to come up with an outpatient plan. Still at this point, the dog had not been evaluated. We waited for about 20 minutes before we had decided we were going to leave. On our way out, the Vet Tech came back in with an outpatient bill. At this point my husband and I were very unhappy as our dog had still not been evaluated. With no proper evaluation, we were being charged $100 for an exam that never occurred. We decided to do what we needed to get him through the weekend to get to our normal vet. Terrible service and experience to say the least! Will never recommend or visit again!

I was very impressed overall with my experience at PWC! My cat Mister was a stray I just caught and he did well but so did the people handling him. My dog currently goes to Fishers Per Hospital but I am thinking of taking her to PWC instead if we ever need to change where we go. Mister has also been completely fine ever since we got home, no reactions to any medicines or vaccines!

The BINFORD facility is also the most beautiful vet’s office I have ever seen! I may make this my primary location even though it’s not the closest. Thank you!

We are very pleased with the thoughtful care of the entire staff, and we appreciate having been seen on the same day due to Simi’s situation. Dr. Lether was clear and succinct in her thoughts, findings, and treatment of Simi, and Grant was great handling Simi with gentle care. A gal welcomed us before we reached the desk and took us immediately to a room. I am expecting Simi to do well with her recovery. The staff put us at ease with our concerns. We are very grateful.

Everyone is so nice and helpful. My dog is aging and encountering some things now that concern me. The tech and the vet was so caring and offered solutions and ideas so she can continue to be a happy, healthy senior dog! Thank you!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been a Prime member here for a while and even though I live in Brownsburg, I gladly make the 45–50 minute drive to Bridgeview because the care is worth it! My mini Schnauzer is always groomed perfectly for his breed, and the team is so knowledgeable and attentive. They always deliver exactly what I ask for — and usually even better. At my last visit, he wasn’t feeling well, and they immediately called me with concern. By the time I arrived, they had already talked with the vet next door and had his prescriptions and aftercare ready. They even rebooked his grooming for the next week, which I really appreciated since they’re usually busy (for good reason!). Excellent staff, great service, and genuine care every single time. I highly recommend them! 🐾

I have been a client of this clinic for several years and have consistently been pleased with their services. The staff has always demonstrated genuine care and a commitment to assisting our pets. However, today I truly recognized the exceptional nature of this facility. My 19-year-old cat, who has been facing health challenges, experienced a significant decline in her condition today, particularly with her breathing, which caused us great concern. I called the clinic, and they managed to schedule us for an appointment just 20 minutes later. Upon arrival, we were promptly taken to the examination room. The technician, Paolo, was very kind and asked thorough questions regarding my cat’s condition. Shortly after, Dr. Tomasic entered and both she and Paolo began to examine her with great gentleness. Dr. Tomasic provided clear explanations and showed immense compassion as we faced the difficult decision to let her go. During this challenging time, the women who assisted us were incredibly supportive and caring. Additionally, there was a young blonde staff member present who was equally remarkable. I am profoundly grateful for the assistance we received today.

My husband and I are so grateful for Noah’s. Our 11-month-old golden retriever puppy is alive and well because of them. While we initially received compassionate care at VCA, we were referred here last Saturday when they weren’t set up for emergency surgery. The VCA hospital vet strongly recommended Noah’s—and it was immediately clear why. Noah’s was able to see our dog, Clover, right away and get her the care she needed. The vet, Dr. Giem, was incredibly empathetic, knowledgeable, and informative. Despite being in extreme pain and a lethargic state, Clover eased into Dr. Giem during her exam. She even called Clover by her nickname without knowing it—a small moment that meant everything to us. Although we went home in deep sorrow, we knew our girl was in safe hands throughout the night. Noah’s communicated clearly about cost, provided updates throughout our time there, and we were even refunded part of our initial deposit. During and after surgery, every timely phone call or conversation with staff was followed by a personal compliment about our sweet girl. The front desk staff, though very busy, was always attentive and helpful. Robert, the vet assistant, was also incredibly compassionate and informative when providing post-op care instructions. We are beyond grateful to have our girl back and know that Noah’s will be the first place we go from now on.

My husband and I are not from around the area but work over the road as truckers. My senior dachshund had a horrible cough that turned out to be pneumonia. They were so professional here and took excellent care of my old girl on short notice. I loved that there was 100% transparency in cost and recommended diagnostics exams. The staff even gave us snacks while we waited patiently for exam results. When I had a recheck appointment for my dog at a different clinic, I called in advance and they quickly and efficiently sent all of her pertinent exam results to the vet that needed them. Thank you to the wonderful staff here!

Our dog unfortunately got into raisins and we had to get him to an ER vet so he didnt digest any of them and go into kidney failure. ALL of the staff at Noah’s Animal Hospital were amazing. They explained everything in detail and didn’t mind that our guy was noisy and anxious. 😅 We just picked him up and cannot express our gratitude for the care and timeliness the staff extended to us and our boy.

Robert and the whole team literally saved my boy, Loki’s life. Robert truly is a God Send and always does the most for my own dogs and Lucci’s House Bully Rescue dogs. I firmly believe Loki would have died if it weren’t for his fast actions and the team at this Noah’s. I cannot say enough about how amazing he is!

We were blessed to have Dr. Giem and her caring staff tonight when our beloved Boston Terrier went into complete cardiac failure and his lungs were filling up with fluid fast. He was 9 and in congestive heart failure. It was advancing fast and he was under the care of a cardiologist in Carmel. Dr. Giem was very compassionate and honest in that he probably wouldn’t survive the night. I’m devastated in losing my baby but grateful for their kind and thoughtful care. The thought of him suffering was too much to bear and we had to do the right thing and put him to sleep. Thank you Dr. Giem and staff for your kindness, I will forever be grateful and recommend your establishment. I lost my spouse 1 1/2 years ago and our little guys name was Pim (Dutch for «Bill»). It’s been a rough couple of years.

Incredible experience. I brought my dog on New Year’s Eve, and every step of the visit was positive. Dr. Giem is an exceptional vet, and Amy, Emily (I think), and the entire care team were kind and very good at their jobs. The care provided was thoughtful and thorough, and the aftercare instructions were customized and easy to follow. I also want to thank Dr. Giem for spending additional time educating me on a possible diagnosis to explain the constant skin issues our dog has experienced for years. We are grateful for this new avenue (and possible new treatments).

My wife and I unfortunately had to put our dog diesel to sleep. It was a Saturday afternoon. Nobody in my town had a vet and I was recommended to try this place.Putting your animal down is very hard, the crew at Noah’s did a really good job with the entire process. The entire crew showed sympathy and support for us at a really difficult time. I appreciate everything that your crew did to help us with diesel .Thank you Noah’s

Oct. 25, 2024 I had to bring my dog Axle in to be put down becuse my regular vet was booked and could not sneek us in. The people where so helpful and sympathetic the entire time. Even gave me time to grieve with him once he had passed (I always sit with my furbabies as they go, so they are not alone and with thier person.) I did not expect the beautiful keep sake they also gave me before I left. Nose prints, foot prints, a little jar of his fur and sympathy card. I ment to post this after it happened but it was just so hard for me. And now his older brother is not doing good and I am afraid I may have to put him down by this Monday as well. 😭 Thank you so much for all that you all do. For our fur babies and us as we deal with the hard time of loss. ❤️

We took Emily Mittens to be euthanized as she was so sick. The compassion Dr McKinney showed us was wonderful. Dr Quigley and now Dr McKinney have also taken great care of our French Bulldog.

I can not be more thankful and beyond pleased with this group of professionals. I took my pitty in on an ER visit. They were calm when I wasn’t, explained everything in detail so I knew what was going on and what to expect. They discussed cost with me everytime it was needed. They were honest and showed me the xrays so I could see too. I was blessed to have found them and will go back if I ever need to, heaven forbid. My holidays are jolly again! I love you all so much and value all your experience and your high levels of compassion for my baby. You are all rock stars 🌟 bless you 🙏

Arrived and taken to room 2 at 6:28pm, left 9:28pm without seeing the vet and with them refusing to even give an estimate. On their scale on the wall it was marked we were a Priority 2, «there may be a wait.» The few times anyone stuck their head in the room we were told the vet would be in «Soon.» That started 45 minutes into this – so the third time I heard the vet would be in «soon» I asked appropriately when that might be. The woman just replied the same, «soon.» If I’d been told they don’t know how to staff the facility to take care of emergencies I would have gone elsewhere. Now we are driving to another vet with our 13 year-old dog who collapsed today and was immobile for about 20 minutes and is struggling to get to her feet, after being fine a few days ago and who got progressively weaker while we waited for no service, no compassion, no words of encouragement from this mismanaged, ill-named «emergency» vet.

Absolutely incredible experience and care. After our St. Bernard Chester was neutered locally earlier in the day, he went into shock later that evening and collapsed. We had to rush him over an hour away to this emergency vet, terrified we were going to lose him. From the moment we walked in, the team was outstanding. They took Chester immediately, got us into a room right away, and began stabilizing him without delay. The doctor and assistants were calm, thorough, and incredibly compassionate. Everything was explained in detail, all of our questions were answered, and we never once felt rushed or dismissed. They ran bloodwork to rule out internal bleeding, closely monitored his blood pressure and heart, started IV fluids, managed his pain, and kept him under observation until he was stable. Even small things — like offering us coffee — meant so much during such a stressful night. Thanks to their fast response and excellent care, Chester is still with us. We will be forever grateful to this doctor and their amazing team. I cannot recommend this emergency vet enough and will absolutely return for anything our animals ever need. Thank you for saving our dog.

We would like to say how very appreciative we are of the care and attention that was given to our sweet boy Henley during a recent visit to the Airport Animal Emergi-Center. From the receptionist to the surgeon we were treated with such kindness and empathy during a very stressful and scary situation. We would like to especially thank the surgeon, Dr. Saviori for performing a very critical surgery that literally saved our dog’s life. Henley continues to heal day by day. Thank you again to everyone! Kind regards, Kate, Craig & Henley Gilbert

More affordable than other places. And gave me an extra month with dog when she was towards the end of her life, they tried what they could the 2nd time but in the end it was just my babies time and they didn’t rush me. They gave me as long as I needed with her, they also gave me a trimmer to keep a lock of her hair. And 20minites after I left I remembered I never gave to dna sample I wanted to know exactly what mix of mutt my girl was and they went back to her and swabbed her mouth for me the best they could and I was able to get that dna test. I also got her ashes and paw print back within the week. They were so gentle and kind during one of the hardest times of my life. I am writing this a yr later. Bc I was too emotional then.

We woke up to the heartbreaking discovery that our beautiful girl, Blanche, had unexpectedly passed away over night. I called AAEC for cremation service and Sabrina was extremely nice, empathetic, and explained their services. When it was time to pick up her remains, there was a mix up on her last name but they discovered the mistake immediately and asked me to come back the next day so they could fix the issue with the place that cremated her. I have never taken my pets here for an emergency. This review is solely based on this experience. One thing I have an issue with is when they took her vet information, they said they would contact them to stop notification reminders for Blanchie, however, I received this email from the a couple days later (see photo). They just need to update their email settings.

The quality of care and patience and compassion that every single member of their staff treated me and my cat with exceeded all expectation. The veterinarians themselves were fully present and careful and thorough. I felt completely comfortable trusting their judgement and relieved to have their support. The other staff and vet assistants were equally first-rate – both in the multiple middle-of-the-night pre-visit phone calls and in person. They never once showed even the slightest amount of irritation or impatience at my questions and occasional indecision, despite the fast-paced/high-pressure nature of their work environment. There is a level of genuine kindness and expertise at this clinic that is rare and wonderful. They made a really scary situation as good as it could possibly be. I think if James Herriot himself lived in Indianapolis, he would likely work at the Airport Animal Emergi-Center.

We recently had to take our family dog of 10 1/2 years here to put him to rest. My husband and I have had him our entire marriage and it was so difficult for us. The vet tech that put him to sleep was amazing, she was so gentle and sweet to him. Told him how cute he was. The entire staff was very accommodating and we received a card in the mail about 2 weeks later with the staff’s signatures inside and warm words from a lot of them. I just want to thank you all for helping us through this and making it as peaceful for him as it possibly could have been, he was an amazing pup.

Our beagle/terrier mix Callie was seizing very bad for an extended period of time. Since we live in a rural area, we had to rush to find an emergency vet to see her. We drove almost two hours to Airport Emergi Vet. When I called beforehand, they told me to let them know when we were close so they could be ready. We carried her in straight onto a gurney and away they went. Given the stress and worry we were feeling for our furbaby along with lack of sleep, we were not the best comprehending what was currently happening. The staff were very compassionate and understanding. They took the time to explain everything in detail and went above and beyond for us. I won’t lie, it is pricey. With that said, the care and attention Callie received was well worth the cost. Thank you to all of the staff that cared for Callie that night. Words can’t express how grateful we are.

Frequently asked questions about veterinarians in Indianapolis

What qualifications should I look for in a veterinarian?

When choosing a veterinarian for your pet in Indianapolis, it's crucial to verify their qualifications. Most veterinarians in Indianapolis hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school. Post-graduate specialization is also common, with vets focusing on specific areas such as surgery, dermatology, or internal medicine. Always check if the veterinarian is licensed and in good standing with the Indiana Board of Veterinary Medicine.

How do I determine if a veterinarian is a good fit for my pet’s needs?

Finding a veterinarian who understands your pet’s individual needs is paramount. Consider a vet’s approach to pet care. Look for a practice that emphasizes preventative medicine, including routine check-ups, vaccinations, and parasite prevention. It’s beneficial to observe the veterinarian’s interaction with your pet—do they seem patient, gentle, and attentive? A good fit also involves open communication and a shared understanding of your pet’s health goals.

What types of services do Indianapolis veterinarians typically offer?

Indianapolis veterinarians offer a broad range of services, generally encompassing routine care, such as vaccinations, microchipping, and heartworm prevention. They also provide services for acute illnesses and injuries, including diagnostics like blood tests and X-rays, and treatment options that may include medications and surgery. Specialized practices might offer services like dental care, behavioral modification, or exotic animal care.

How much does a routine check-up with a veterinarian cost?

The cost of a routine check-up varies depending on several factors, including the veterinarian’s location, the species of animal, and the complexity of the examination. Generally, expect to pay between $75 and $150 for a standard check-up, which may include a physical exam, blood work, and a fecal test. It's wise to confirm the pricing during your initial consultation to avoid unexpected fees.

What is involved in preventative veterinary care?

Preventative veterinary care focuses on maintaining your pet’s health and preventing diseases. It includes regular check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control (heartworm, fleas, ticks), and nutritional guidance. It’s about proactively addressing potential health issues before they become serious and improving your pet’s overall quality of life. A key aspect is the veterinarian's ability to provide personalized recommendations based on your pet’s age, breed, and lifestyle.

How do I know if my pet needs emergency veterinary care?

Recognizing the signs of an emergency is critical for your pet’s wellbeing. Seek immediate veterinary care if your pet exhibits symptoms such as difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, abdominal pain, seizures, or a dislocated limb. Don't hesitate to contact your veterinarian or a local emergency veterinary clinic if you suspect your pet is in distress. Time is of the essence in these situations.

What is a pet’s first veterinary visit like?

A pet’s first visit typically involves a thorough physical examination, including a check of the animal’s vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration), skin, eyes, ears, mouth, and overall condition. The veterinarian will likely ask you about your pet’s history, including their diet, lifestyle, and any previous medical conditions. Paperwork, such as vaccination records, will also be reviewed. Be prepared to answer questions about your pet’s behavior and any specific concerns you have.

How do I prepare for a surgical procedure with my veterinarian?

Surgical procedures require careful preparation. Your veterinarian will discuss the risks and benefits of the procedure, answer your questions, and provide you with detailed instructions. This includes pre-operative bloodwork to assess your pet's health, fasting requirements, and medication administration. Ensure you understand the post-operative care plan, including pain management, wound care, and follow-up appointments. Open communication throughout the process is essential.

What is the role of pet insurance in Indianapolis?

Pet insurance can provide financial protection against unexpected veterinary costs. Many Indianapolis veterinarians offer information about various pet insurance plans. These plans typically cover diagnostic tests, surgeries, hospitalizations, and medications. While premiums can vary, insurance can help alleviate the financial burden of expensive medical treatments and ensure your pet receives the care they need, regardless of your budget. Consider your pet’s age, breed, and health history when evaluating insurance options.

How can I find a veterinarian in Indianapolis?

Several resources can help you find a veterinarian in Indianapolis. You can start by searching online directories like Vets.com, Yelp, or Google Maps. You can also ask for recommendations from friends, family, or local animal shelters and rescue organizations. Many veterinarians also have websites that provide detailed information about their services and credentials. Prioritize selecting a veterinarian based on their expertise, experience, and commitment to providing compassionate care.
