I like the location to downtown not to far away, the gentleman Mike working the desk was very nice, polite and help me the room I wanted. But there still work to be done on the room. Still a good place for the night.
My spouse & I stayed here on a trip to Indianapolis for Irish Fest. The hotel is approximately 10 minutes drive time from the Fest's beautiful Garfield Park location. Although I requested ground floor accommodation, we were booked on the second floor (no elevator.) At check-in, desk clerk observed the spouse's limp and re-booked us a ground floor room. Pluses: Free parking. Room was pretty clean and beds were clean. WiFi worked well. Private restroom was very clean with adjustable hot & cold faucets. There was standard motel-size soap on the vanity counter and in the tub surround. Desk clerk was very helpful, bringing us extra towels, plugging in the TV and attempting to get the vanity light to work. The air conditioning worked very well. Black & White photos on walls were tasteful and interesting. Amenities included a hard-wired telephone. Negatives: Swimming pool was closed for repairs. Room furniture, carpet & plastic drapes were shabby. Vanity lacked a mirror, . Instead of the two cute bedside tables and lamps in the picture, our room had a single small dresser between the beds. At our request the helpful desk clerk brought a lamp, but there wasn't an electrical outlet. There was no coffee maker in the room and no coffee seen or smelled in the public area either morning of our stay. The mini-refrigerator in our room froze our left-overs. There was one-fourth to one-third of a roll of TP in the bathroom. (I picked up a full roll from the front desk.) One of us slipped off the toilet (loose seat) twice. No plug for the bathtub. Bathroom fan sounded like a Mack truck idling. Had an interracial argument outside our motel room Friday night that lasted 45 minutes. Saturday night featured an all-white m-f foursome heatedly arguing. Spouse called front desk and was told security was handling it. We probably won't be staying there again, but wonder how many of the negatives are attributable to the Covid-19 panic affecting travel-related revenue. We are monitoring our financial transaction to make they remove the $50 security deposit they added.
Terrible management, understaffed, uncomfortable atmosphere. Turns out the hotel was overbooked and the guy at the front desk was scrambling to find a room. He also claimed that people had been checked out that weren't supposed to be. In his defense, he did the best he could under the circumstances and was helpful. Finally, 20+ minutes and two occupied rooms later, we finally got our room. It was clean and we had no problems once we settled in. It's also a 5 mile drive from the ICC which is convenient. In spite of these, I would still run far away from this place. The overall management of the place was unacceptable, and the atmosphere was uncomfortable. There were people loitering, and we later found out there were people LIVING in the hotel that were most likely drug addicts. We came back one night to find a door propped open by someone we presumed to be an owner of the place. While the door was being watched, there's no telling who he could have let in there. I would advise not traveling here if you are with small children or by yourself (some of the clientele was questionable). Will not be staying here again.
This hotel is a joke. Not only were there bed bugs, but cockroaches also. I had to make my kids wear shoes every time they got out of bed, if not their feet were completely disgusting. They changed the "rules" and the price every other day. There were two girls at the front desk that were helpful and that's it. The air conditioning didn't work. The shower water fluctuated, it was never the temperature you wanted. They pool had stuff floating in it. Point blank, the people "running" this hotel don't know what they are doing and this place needs to be shut down.
Staff was very friendly and courteous. Rooms have a decent amount of space and microwave/fridge. Uncomfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom was not very clean. Shady neighborhood and people just hanging around outside. Want to emphasize that front desk staff was very nice and helpful.
I've stayed here once. They are known to have a lot of drugs and whatnot, but I went here with my boyfriend a while ago to have a night alone ( we were living with a lot of family at the time). The room was pretty nice and clean too. Cable and WiFi. We only had a room for one night, but you can also rent rooms with appliances (microwave, oven, fridge) if you plan to stay longer. It was $80 for one night in the standard room we were in. Not too bad of an experience for us.
These photos do not look anything like the real hotel. Called to reserve room got there on the day I was to check in and they told me I wasn't in the system and they had no clean rooms. They took my name and phone number and said they would call when rooms were clean. They never called back which was good because I was not gonna return with my family. The place was grungy looking inside as well as outside. There was a guy in there that way trying to sell a couple a ring in the loby. The place had a weird smell. Seen a officer and asked how safe it was to have my family there and he stated it's not. I will not return. I called to talk to a manager and was told there wasn't one there and she don't have a phone number for one. Just to let everyone know I had to rate with one star or I couldn't post this. I do not want to rate it with a star but I want everyone to know.
