Trevor Lakes

Truly the best customer service experience in my life. Both guys did everything in their power to make sure I had everything I could need and then some, all while saving me more money than I could’ve hoped for. My whole gym is bells of steel and everything is top notch quality and there are plenty of reviews out there to back that up. I will definitely only use these guys going forward!

Thanks for you help,
Trevor

I had the best experience at Bell’s checking out treadmills, thanks to George! The service was above and beyond, full of information and live demonstration. I was surprised at how affordable and customizable most of their equipment was. It’s definitely a top-tier place to shop for gym equipment.

Recently purchased my 2nd MW adjustable kettlebell with expansion pack which is the best KB I’ve found. Sturdy handle is easy to grip and being able to adjust the weights throughout a workout is a huge benefit. Both were delivered in great condition as well. Yes they are an investment in your health and worth every dollar. The 50lb KB I’ve been using the last 6 months cost about half of one and I’m sure using these will have saved me money over the long term as I keep progressing to heavier KB exercises.

We have bought several things from here. The equipment has been great and they are super helpful. George walked the whole show room with us and explained things and looked up cost. We got to try different things in the showroom to see how it works and feels. George was so kind and helpful and pricing is set up really well to get benefits for first time, military, etc. Swt reminders to come back when more in stock!

Great shop! The people here are friendly as heck (other than one guy I talked to on the phone), very willing to answer questions and show you equipment. You get a nice discount shopping in store versus online, so good incentive to go in. I’ll be back!

This is the best gym I have worked out at in a very long time. Excellent equipment, good music (for a change), and Landan and the entire staff are top notch, very welcoming. If I lived within an hour of this gym (I’m from Florida) I would be a member here.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – Best Gym Experience Ever!

I’ve been to quite a few gyms over the years, but this one truly stands out. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by friendly, professional staff who actually remember your name and make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is energetic yet non-intimidating—perfect for beginners and seasoned athletes alike.

The equipment is state-of-the-art, spotless, and well-maintained. Whether you’re into free weights, machines, cardio, or functional training, everything you need is right there. The gym never feels overcrowded, even during peak hours, which makes workouts more enjoyable and stress-free.

What really sets this place apart are the trainers and group classes. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely invested in your progress. Each class feels like a community, and I always leave feeling stronger and more inspired.

Also, a big shoutout to the clean locker rooms, spa-quality showers, and the post-workout smoothie bar—pure luxury!

So I’ve been looking for a new gym and decide to try AMF. Yea, there are people there that know how to lift and some that are beginners but that’s ok they have trainers that will get you we’re you need to be! Everything is very clean. I love that they have the leg, chest and back sections in their own area. The place is not huge but perfect size. Does have some treadmills, ellipticals and Stairsteppers. Atmosphere seems really really nice and everybody’s friendly. I never had an issue getting on any machine that I wanted and if you ever need help or a spotter, someone’s always willing to help. Think I found a gym to call my second home!!!

Phenomenal gym! Stopped in on a Saturday morning to try out a new gym and was not disappointed at all. The staff members were friendly and definitely about fitness. All the equipment you need for the beginner all the way to the hard-core builder. Even had dumbells up to 200lbs!! Plenty of room for everyone with enough real iron plates to make ronnie Coleman jealous. A must stop if you are looking for a real place to workout!

They got all your amazing conveniences and things you may need as far as food or energy source. The sauna is the best part of my workout, i can relax and sweat out excess water weight etc.

Love it here. My 10 year old son has been doing the kids membership, twice a week CrossFit classes, for six months. The support from the coaches and truly everyone else in his classes has been incredible. This place is special.

I’ve worked out at and been a member of gyms all over the country and this is hands down the best gym I’ve signed up at. The equipment is amazing, the staff is great, and the overall energy in this place is awesome. Zero ego, all hustle and hard work in this place. I’ve been training for months now with Morgan May, who’s the training director of the facility and it’s been life changing. Super reliable trainer who pushes you to be better. He knows how to connect with clients, and the results of his clients show his true knowledge and passion for his craft. Honestly the entire staff seems to be this way. The Membership and one on one training is worth every penny spent. I’d recommend anyone in the Indy area or passing through to sign up or give this place a serious look!

Long review, but worth the read.

10 STARS! Best gym experience ever. Best money spent on my health. I was treated like family the first day I walked in the door until i had to say goodbye to Indy!

Steve, Morgan, Emma and Alyssa were my dream team! Alyssa did all my personal training, Emma (dietician) helped me better understand nutrition and what worked for my body! I highly recommend Indy Barbell without reservation.

**Google only allows 1 review so I added info.

I had to highlight Alyssa, my trainer. This was the best experience from a personal trainer ive had. Alyssa started out slow with me, progressing over time as I got stronger. She pushed me in my weakest area (cardio) while understanding my limits. Her detailed knowledge of kinesiology was nothing short of amazing. She explained every movement we were going to do, why we were doing and the affects we would achieve. She gave me grace when i tired but always reminded of my goal…to be healthier and add years to my life. Her flexibility to pivot around my schedule worked perfectly for my hectic schedule. I promise, you will not be disappointed with Alyssa.

I had an equally amazing experience with Emma as my dietician. Training without understanding the proper nutrition for your body is insanity. I often asked ppl i knew what were they doing to lose weight, not understanding thats what worked for their body. Dieticians are the unsung heros of proper health and you’re doing yourself an injustice if you dont have one in your corner!

I have been going for years now and not only has the equipment improved but so has my mental and physical health. From the great leadership of the owner, to the amazing hands on and friendly staff, even the members of every walk of life are super helpful and supportive. Never seen gym culture so intense and yet not even remotely toxic. No egos, just determination and a unified mindset to live healthier lives.

My trainer Morgan, who came highly recommended by Naz (trainer) has an amazing approach to physical fitness that has pushed my limits and afforded me great results without punishing my pockets.

I’ve been training with Morgan at Indy City Barbell for the past 4 years, and I can’t recommend him enough. Morgan is not only incredibly knowledgeable about powerlifting, but also knows how to tailor programming to fit individual needs and goals.
When I first started, I never imagined I’d make this much progress but Morgan’s coaching has pushed me further than I thought possible. If you’re looking for a trainer who genuinely cares about your growth, understands the sport inside and out, and creates a supportive training environment, Morgan is the one. Indy City Barbell as a whole has a great community, but Morgan has been the driving force behind my progress.

I was just visiting Indianapolis for the weekend so I decided to do a day pass here

BEST decision I could have ever made

As an online fitness coach, this gym had everything I could possibly wish for.

The gym is divided into 2 “sections” where one side is a little more machine/cardio (great for bodybuilding) focused & the other is where your free weights are (good for strength & powerlifting)

My favorite part was the Arsenal equipment they had which felt absolutely fantastic to use (first gym I’ve seen in the Midwest with a Pendulum Squat)

Overall, I really enjoyed my workout here. Also, thank you to Austin in the front who was super nice & hospitable

I started coming to West Indy Barbell back in 2023 after getting my first exposure to a powerlifting/bodybuilding gym in Baltimore, MD. I really enjoy coming in regularly with how kind and friendly the staff are. They are constantly adding/rotating amenities and equipment which always helps with the fatigue of doing similar exercises/routines frequently. Also, getting to walk into some of the local meets that they hose has been very helpful with overcoming fear of competing one day. Highly recommend coming in even if you are just passing through.

Nice gym lots of good equipment. If you need help with training for your sport it’s a 5 star. People are nice and friendly. Not too crowded. Open 24 hours to members. I’ve been a member a little over two years now and I love the place. I’m a college student, which Peak offers a discount for. Peak has much better equipment and a much better environment than my gym at school or any other gym I’ve been to. The people at Peak push you to be your best self, but also offer endless support. As long as I’m in Indy, I’ll belong to Peak.

Are you tired of going to a gym where you feel like just a number on a spreadsheet? Or do you feel like your membership dues are just being pocketed and never put back into the facility? If so you need to come and give Peak a try. From the moment you walk in you will feel like part of the Peak family. Peak has equipment for everyone no matter what your fitness goals are. The owner Jimmie is one of the greatest people you will ever meet. He truly has a passion for fitness and the community inside the gym. He is friendly and extremely knowledgeable so if you need a spot on a lift or help using some of the new equipment he is always willing to help out. Jimmie’s passion for the gym shows mostly in the equipment that he curates for the gym. He finds the best equipment that is used by some of the biggest names in the fitness industry. It is like seeing the membership dues being put to good use in constant improvements in the gym. I can’t say enough good things about out the gym and its staff. If you are looking for a positive change of pace in your fitness journey then you have to stop in and give Peak a try.

The BEST gym in all of Indy! Seriously, Jimmie curates some of the rarest, most unique, and highest quality machines you will ever use.

Not to mention, the community at Peak is second to none. I’ve never once found a gym where the people I talk to and workout with on a daily basis I can genuinely call family. Everyone here wants to see you succeed, and the memories I’ve made with them inside and outside the gym are lifelong.

Words alone cannot describe how much I love this gym.

I joined Broad Ripple Fit Club after dabbling into CrossFit for a few years. I have been to several other local CrossFit gyms in the area and this is by far the most fun group I have been around. Whether you are a beginner or advanced lifter – This is a great gym to join. They are really respectful to your needs and offer great instruction. The programming is excellent and the space they have is huge. The owners are really nice, supportive, professional, and very helpful. I did both the BRX and Fit classes and both are a great option regardless of your level of fitness.

I joined this gym at the end of the summer for two main reasons: their emphasis on member health and safety with their stellar Covid-19 precautions and their commitment to social justice and equality as a business. Now that I’ve been there for a couple of months, I am extremely impressed with their high quality, intentional programming and the quality of the coaches. They build time into every workout to ensure that members are fully warmed up and fully coached on each part of the workout to come, and all are welcome and encouraged regardless of where we are on our fitness journey. I feel so well cared for as a member there! Above and beyond all of that, it’s such a warm, friendly, and fun place with a beautiful facility in a great location. Highly recommended!!

I love to train here! The coaches are top notch athletes and are very thorough instructors and great motivators! The location could not be better, and all my fellow Cross Fitters are great fun to be with. The energy here is high, and intense without being overly competitive. We all push each other and encourage each other to do our best at each work out, and have fun doing it.
I am stronger, faster, more flexible and have more endurance than ever before, and all because of the time I put in at Cross Fit Broad Ripple. Excellent!!

Very welcoming experience all around. Recently moved to the area and had very little crossfit experience. That did not stop the coaches and community from helping me get started and get going. I enjoy showing up to every workout because there is a clear, purpose driven goal to every move we do. I recommend stopping by for an intro and talking to the staff about your goals!

M4G is the best CrossFit gym I’ve been to. Coaches are competent, and give useful feedback to help me improve. Folks are kind and welcoming. The space is huge and furnished with a variety of top-notch (new) equipment, which makes it feasible to practice new skills! The community is also very strong; with regular social events, fundraisers (like the attached video: 30 minutes of burpees for a homeless shelter), and competitions. Plus, you can use open gym at the same time as class so long as there is space! Amazing experience!

I was quite nervous to start cross fit but M4G has an amazing program that helps new members acclimate to the new movements. What I thought I was getting was a gym membership with programmed workouts. I got all that and more! The community is hands down the best part of M4G. Whether they are pushing you to challenge yourself, cheering you on or giving you a hug on hard days, there’s nothing like the community. I don’t want to miss a day because I miss my people. The gym leadership empowers others by providing opportunities for growth. I love my gym! Come find out for yourself!

CFEI is a great gym! The community makes the gym. Coach Kevin is consistent and creates a positive atmosphere. There are workouts for beginners all the way to the advanced athlete.

Coach Kevin does his best to help each person to reach their health goals. He regularly has Athletic Trainer’s swing by to help with aches or pains, nutritional guidance seminars, In-Body health assessments and in house gym competitions. We even have a gym mascot, a yellow lab named Scout.

I’m grateful for my gym friends and Coach K!

Frequently asked questions about crossfit centers in Indianapolis

What types of memberships are commonly offered by CrossFit centers in Indianapolis?

Across CrossFit centers in Indianapolis, you will typically find a mix of monthly memberships, multi-visit class packs, and drop-in options for visitors. Some gyms also offer short-term contracts or annual plans with discounts. It’s important to review the cancellation policy, freeze options for travel or injury, and any billing cycles so you understand exactly what you are committing to and what you can adjust if your schedule changes.

Do CrossFit centers in Indianapolis offer beginner classes or foundations programs?

Yes, many Indianapolis locations provide a Foundations or On-Ramp program designed for newcomers. These sessions focus on fundamental movements, movement quality, and scaling to your current fitness level. After completing foundations, you can join regular classes with appropriate scaling options to ensure a safe and progressive introduction to the workouts and terminology used in CrossFit.

How are classes typically structured at Indianapolis CrossFit gyms?

A typical class in Indianapolis includes a brief warm-up, a skill or strength segment, the main WOD (Workout of the Day), and a cool-down with mobility work. Coaches provide coaching cues, offer scaling options for different abilities, and emphasize movement safety throughout. Expect a supportive environment where peers encourage each other and where consistency and technique take priority over intensity.

What safety measures and certifications are common among coaches?

Most Indianapolis CrossFit coaches hold CrossFit Level 1 or higher certifications, along with CPR and First Aid credentials. Gyms typically enforce clear movement standards, provide spotting when needed, and insist on proper equipment setup before class. A focus on injury prevention and individual assessment helps ensure safe participation for all athletes, including beginners.

Is parking and accessibility easy at CrossFit centers in Indianapolis?

Accessibility varies by neighborhood, but many Indianapolis locations offer convenient parking options, with some centers located near public transit routes or bike-friendly streets. When you plan your first visit, check for loading zones, elevator access for multi-story facilities, and ADA compliance so that you can arrive and train comfortably.

What should a first-time visitor bring to a session?

For a first session, bring a pair of athletic shoes suitable for weightlifting and cardio, a water bottle, and a towel. Wear comfortable, breathable clothing and avoid wearing jewelry that could snag on equipment. Some gyms provide basic gear, but having your own grip options or wrist wraps can be useful for certain movements.

How does pricing compare to other fitness options in Indianapolis?

CrossFit memberships in Indianapolis are often comparable to premium gym programs and may appear higher than basic gym access, but they commonly include coaching, program variety, and a strong community component. Many centers offer trial classes or introductory offers, as well as student discounts or family plans to provide value for different budgets.

Can I pause or cancel my membership if my schedule changes?

Most centers in Indianapolis allow you to pause or freeze a membership for travel, injury, or personal commitments. Be sure to review the notice period, any minimum commitment, and how the rejoin policy works. Understanding these terms helps avoid unexpected charges and makes it easier to return when ready.

Are there programs for youth or family participation?

Several Indianapolis gyms offer youth programs or teen classes, focusing on movement fundamentals, safety, and progressive skill development. Some facilities also provide family memberships that allow parents and children to train together, fostering a supportive fitness lifestyle for the whole household.

How can I evaluate the community and coaching quality before joining?

To gauge the right fit, consider scheduling a trial class or open gym session to observe coaching style, communication, and how athletes motivate one another. Talk to current members about the supportiveness of the gym culture, the consistency of coaching cues, and whether the environment aligns with your goals and comfort level.
