Davis Homes

8.9

I recently worked with Davis Homes to plan a custom build, and the experience was consistently positive from start to finish. The team listened attentively, asked thoughtful questions, and kept communication clear and timely. I appreciated the transparent pricing and the meticulous attention to detail during the design phase. The project moved smoothly, and the craftsmanship in every room reflects real care. Professionalism and responsiveness truly stood out.

Post-project support also impressed me. Davis Homes followed up after moving day to ensure every detail settled and offered practical ideas for long-term maintenance. The team’s collaborative approach helped us customize finishes that fit our lifestyle without overselling options. I felt confident recommending them to friends seeking thoughtful design, reliable schedules, and lasting value. Quality and trust are the hallmarks I would highlight when describing Davis Homes.

Our sales rep at Davis Homes named Brooke was an absolute miracle worker. She answered every question we had promptly and made sure the whole process went smoothly. She even helped us with things that she probably could have said aren't her responsibility. She went above and beyond for us and is amazing at what she does. The people at Davis Homes work very hard for you, I highly recommend to anyone looking to build!

We worked with Brooke Sortore for our new home build and it was an amazing experience. She is very professional, friendly, fast and helpful. Even though, we knew what we were looking for, she recommended some of the options, which really made sense. She also suggested some which may not be as useful. The whole design and sales process was a joyful experience. She answered all questions and went above and beyond in helping us in designing a beautiful home. We are looking forward to an amazing building experience with Davis team.

Built with a production builder a year ago. Moved in to that home in July, 2024. Learned that the lack of windows and natural light impacted our mood. The limited options (4) were not, at the end of the day a representation of our taste and style. The 8Ft ceilings felt cramped, and although cut down on some energy costs, didn't define a reflection on what our style paints. the neighborhood only had 4 models to select from so there was no variety whatsoever. We learned that production builders enjoy saying the word NO! Needless to say we were able to sell and walk away making some decent money. We looked into reviews and decided to spend our time, money, and wants list with a local builder. We did a lot of online research, drove by neighborhoods and visited communities. We reached out to Davis Homes and were connected with Brooke Sortore. We communicated effectively what we wanted, our styles, type of neighborhood we wanted to be in, and that we didn't want to make another mistake. Brooke was very specific upfront with questions about details about our needs, wants, and ultimately, what will our house define when we think of memories, family, and how we feel on a daily basis. Brooke asked a lot of detailed questions such as open flow versus closed off rooms, finished walkout basement or slab type, and what type of vibes represent our taste. During all this dialogue Brooke was enthusiastic, positive with word choice, and tone was energetic! We immediately realized Brooke was taking the time to match us to a design that would match us as close to perfect as possible. Brooke explained in depth on our first call, timelines, expectations, financing, options, and most importantly, she made us agree that we enioy this journey with Davis and remember the moments we are creating are a result in their years of perfection. We immediately felt the difference of hearing the word YES, and not NO to everything. When we had basic questions early on Brooke, had a response to us that day. We never once felt we were pushed back or waiting for responses. We both had to step back for a moment before signing a contract and accept that this journey with Brooke and Davis was about us. Not the corporate office. We felt like we are a member of the Davis family. Everyone at Davis from Emily in the design center, to Garrett in finance, has been positive, empowering, and making the experience customer focused. Davis Homes and Brooke, specifically, have encouraged us to see their current builds in production and to get out and see the Davis way. We noticed a lot of differences of a production builder and local builder. Lastly, we have seen many Davis Homes from framing, to almost complete, to complete. Their attention to detail, quality, and products is very high. Their quality and craftsmanship is evident. Working with Brooke and Davis Homes is a life decision. We recommend reaching out to Brooke and letting her create a journey for you and your family that will give you the home of your dreams. BuildWithBrooke DavisDifference MomentsConnected

Our house was built in 2020. We were pushed to close before the start of the new year and before we had a full inspection. They had "reason"for why we needed to sign before New Year’s Day. We had a 15 minute walk through the day we closed and were assured the things we found wrong would be corrected even though we were closing and finalizing the sale. Hardly anything was corrected. We still have issues with our carpet coming up at the seams working weeks of moving in. And NO ONE at Davis homes or 2-10 warranty will call us!! Just recently our HVAC began leaking from the first floor in the ductwork and our ceiling and subfloor are soaking wet! Two different contractors said it is happening Because it was installed incorrectly. All of a sudden, our warranty doesn’t cover it, even though we have flyers and pamphlets showing the warranty cover ductwork. DONT BUILD WOTH DAVIS. We’ve put a lot of money into our Brand New Build to FIX things that were NOT done correctly to begin with.

I don’t like to post negative reviews, but hopefully public scrutiny will actually get us somewhere. We purchased a brand new, never been owned by anyone else, Davis Home on February 9, 2024. Approximately 10 days after moving in, our pantry flooded and smelled like literal sh*t. It was a weekend when this happened, but we determined that several inches of standing water (that smelled like sewage) was an emergency, so we called the emergency warranty line provided by Davis. The plumber we were told to call took 2 days to get to our house, and over those 2 days repeatedly told us "the on call plumber isn’t answering his phone" like that was going to have be a good enough answer for us and he couldn’t do anything more (like come out himself). A plumber finally called the following Monday and came out after we had already determined what the issue was and he confirmed our suspicions after we had to figure stuff out on our own. Whoever Davis hired to install the pantry shelves had nailed 9 nails into the main plumbing pipe that is behind the pantry's wall. All 3 bathrooms connect to that pipe with a half bath sharing a wall with the pantry and the master bath being directly above the pantry. So our pantry was in fact leaking sewage water all over the floor. The plumber had to cut a huge chunk of drywall out to fix the pipe and made his report to whoever he was supposed to. That was on February 19, it is now March 25, and neither Davis Holmes nor their home warranty company is working to get this fixed. When we made the initial report (after they couldn’t even find us or our house in the system because Davis never sent them our info to create the warranty account) the warranty company said that "the builder was to investigate" and would reach out to us in 21 days. We have had absolutely 0 contact from anyone at Davis to "investigate" and it has been 35 days. They each keep passing the buck to the other because neither wants to pay for it. Any calls we make tell us to "hold tight" and emails are ignored. The last update we got was that neither would be responsible and any efforts to repair would be done as a "courtesy". We still have no end in sight to this problem being fixed and as a result, we have boxes still throughout our kitchen storing food and other appliances that were once in the pantry. On top of all this, our dishwasher could never finish a cycle and was stopping after 20 minutes with an error code. We called Frigidaire, per the request of the warranty company, to come look at it. The repair man came the same day as the plumber, Feb 19, and determined the cause of the error code was a leak in the dishwasher due to several large dents in the unit in the back. Since Frigidaire didn’t install the dishwasher (Davis hired someone else to install), the company doesn’t cover physical damage made by someone else. Davis and their home warranty company is also claiming they do not cover physical damage to appliances. Again, this house was purchased BRAND NEW and was a spec home for Davis in our town. Neither of these issues are our fault. We didn’t have anything to do with the building of the house or hiring of the workers, yet neither Davis nor their warranty company is accepting responsibility or working to resolve this. Davis is beginning to market dozens of new homes they’re building in our town, and I will tell anyone who asks to steer clear of this builder. At this point, our next steps will likely be litigation. This is truly terrible customer service, or lack thereof. *Edited to include pictures with review. The pantry has looked like this since February 19, drywall dust on the floor and all*

If my husband and I could do it all again, we wouldn't. Attached are photos taken UPON POSSESSION OF THE HOUSE. Please notice the banister on the stairs has paint drips... the spindles on the staircase are poorly installed. You can tell the painters did not remove the spindles prior to staining the banister. We discussed this concern with our project manager, and no one ever came back to fix this. Additionally, there is a hole in the drywall in our garage that also remained unfixed (see photo). I have attached more pictures showing several imperfections of the walls. The walls of the house make it appear as if it has already been lived in. All of this was pointed out in our initial and final walkthrough.. it was not fixed. The elevation features of our home were installed incorrectly. We asked for stained posts; right now, they are painted white. Their remedy was to *wrap the current posts* with lumber, and stain them from there. We said no. Now, we are waiting for workers to come back with the appropriate lumber and fix our porch. We are also waiting for white board and batten; currently, it's blue. We did not ask for blue. On top of poor craftsmanship (and the above examples are not the only issues), communication with our sales consultant became non-existent at the end of construction... however, we sat down with him at closing as if nothing we went through as customers was a concern for their organization. We locked in our prices the last week of June 2020... we received the keys to our house on December 31, 2021. Prior to signing, please understand the terms listed in their contract. Although it makes perfect sense why a builder would have a contract like Davis Homes, please know, upon pursuing legal advice, the contract is aggressive and one-sided. Ashley Fletcher is not personable and lacks professionalism. She is very rude... maybe she acts this way because her primary communication with customers is via email... maybe that is why she had no idea who we were although she assisted in scheduling our final closing at her office... To conclude, the back office personnel is more concerned about profit than the wellbeing of their customers. We were on this 'ride of a lifetime' with Davis Homes for 18 months... sure, we built during a pandemic but that is not an excuse to completely disregard your customers' questions and concerns. Our project manager was Corbett Sweet - great guy; in fact, if it weren't for him or his hard work, we would have been even more disappointed with our selection to build with Davis Homes. Surprisingly, we do understand *stuff* happens. However, it was one problem after the other with Davis Homes. We are sad this was our experience. Our house is a constant reminder that the time spent with Davis Homes was not enjoyable.

Update Apr 2022: After 6 years of being in our Davis house, we are still dealing with unresolved items from our home inspection. Our backyard exterior door has had numerous issues with not sealing and latching shut since we moved in. During a follow up repair last year to the door issue we noticed water damage to my flooring and mold underneath the flooring from water leaking around the door. See pictures. They replaced the flooring & tried sealing the door but could not determine the cause of the leak. The door is leaking water again and now Davis says it’s a homeowners maintenance issue and said I should get a storm door. So after their numerous failed attempts of resolving a warranty issue, they are giving up and it’s now my responsibility to resolve the water leak. We have had a really poor experience in building our Davis Home with their on your lot program. We moved in 2 years ago and we are still trying to get items resolved from our original walk through lists. Responses are very poor and require multiple follow ups. We had to be on site during the construction process at least every week to catch mistakes and took lots of photos to document issues. They also tried to charge us several times for their vendors over billing them on site costs. It’s also disappointing to see they rehired a site supervisor who was arrested for felony charges in a prior home construction business. Their prices were fairly competitive at the time we built with them but I would not recommend building with Davis Homes.
