Indy JoyRides allowed our wedding party to ride together to & from wedding and actually interact. The seating set up is perfect for any party. We could sit facing each other which was awesome. The bridal party also enjoyed the chalkboard feature. There was even a sweet “Congrats” message when we arrived – Thanks!

We had so much fun on our JoyRide! We booked Indy JoyRides for a bachelorette party. Booking was so easy and the owner Matt was so helpful and accommodating.

The day of our driver showed up on time. We had a bus full of girls so I was nervous that we were going to be a handful but the driver was so patient with us. I would absolutely recommend Indy JoyRides to anyone that wants to have a fun easy day with a group of friends! 🙂

We used Indy JoyRides last winter for a brewery tour. There were 15 of us so we had the whole bus. We were able to be picked up at my apartment downtown which was great. The interior is really nice. There is a chalkboard wall to draw on and a bar/ice in the middle of the U-shaped seats. I liked that we could all see each other and talk and not sit school bus style. Our driver gave us suggestions of where to go but was also willing to take us wherever we wanted. I liked that we got to choose which breweries/wineries we went to instead of having a planned schedule. We changed our mind about a few places halfway through the evening and our driver was more than willing to change the plan.

I would definitely recommend Indy JoyRides to a friend and I hope I have a reason to use them again in the future. They were very easy to communicate with and the whole night went perfectly because of them!

So I don’t use Uber but my husband does. I don’t use them because about 3 years ago I went to work at 4 am at Walmart and got charged a $300.00 cleanup fee because the driver said I was drunk and got sick in the backseat of his vehicle. I was not drunk and if I had been Walmart would have fired me because they don’t tolerate that in their management. So until I paid the fee they suspended my account. I did ask them for proof that the driver had to clean his car and they sent me pictures of a couple of drops of water on the backseat so made up proof. So yesterday my husband ordered an Uber on his account to get us home from the grocery store. The app said that the driver was out in front of the store maybe 2 feet from where we were standing waiting for them. There was car there for us get into. After 5 minutes of waiting and trying to contact the driver with text and calling with no answer we had to cancel the ride. We got charged a $5 cancellation fee even though the ride never showed up. We ended up having to use Lyft to get home. We tried to get a different ride with Uber but they kept sending us the same driver who never showed. My husband said that it will be a long time before he uses Uber again there are to many other ride share options out there to keep having issues with this company.

Uber is terrible!
When I got into the car, driver’s phone said the name if my destination. Then I noticed that the driver was going somewhere else. Driver said that the app was taking me where I requested, yet it was not. Driver dropped me off in the middle of some neighborhood 20 minutes away and said he had to pick up someone else. He said to contact Uber but there is no way to contact them about being dropped off at the wrong place, only ways to criticize the driver. No phone, no service, NEVER AGAIN UBER!
It is LIFT from now on. Deleting the Uber app!

Requesting a transportation to work is ridiculous on Commuter Connect website. After I have created an account with Commuter Connect, I made preferences for my transportation. When I were about to request to vanpool, there were no transportation available in my areas. Few days later, I tried again. But, transportation still not available. This is ridiculous when requesting a transportation, but not available on your first try of requesting transportation.

I wish I could give a negative 10, considering the company is supposed to pick up and drop off clients for doctor appointments. I would think that would be something they would think it’s important, but I guess there are no consequences for their actions.
First time, I was taken to my appointment in a timely manner, but they couldn’t pick me up for an 1 hour and 45 minutes. And then they had to get a Lyft.
This morning I had an appointment and it was hard for them to reach the driver. After 18 minutes they told me they would have to find me an alternative ride. I have 30 minutes to get to my appointment. I told them while booking my ride, I didn’t want a Lyft ride, because I am disabled and may not be able to bend my leg to get in the car, but I guess they don’t write these things down, for future reference.
I asked the person on the phone, how many chances does this company have to stress out and make their clients miss their appointments. Of course they couldn’t tell me. But I guess when you have a contract locked in with a billion dollar company, people don’t matter.

Not a very great service. I’ve scheduled rides with them twice on two different occasions both times the drivers never should up on time, when I called they said I called the day before at a certain time and canceled which I never did as I still needed rides to the appointments. They offered to send drivers out but I told them not to bother as I was going to be late and probably not able to be seen. They could probably improve if they got drivers that actually cared to do their job.

I have an appointment at 1:00. It is currently 12:50. The appointment is a 30 – 45 minute drive. I have been trying to figure out what is going on since 12:15, as that is the time they told me I could start calling for an ETA on the phone call. I have no other method of transportation as I am physically and mentally disabled and cannot drive. I’ve also been stuck at the hospital for hours after an appointment ends.
Insurance is probably going to take my CPAP because I cannot wear the mask I currently have and they didn’t show up.
That is what you’re getting when you rely on LCP transportation.

Aunt Sarah

If I could give zero stars, I would.

I have severe PTSD and seizures and cannot legally drive. Public transport doesn’t cover where I need to go. I’m on a severely limited income and can’t afford Uber/Lyft.

LCP constantly mishandles my sensitive information, refuses to escalate issues, and talks down to me when I get frustrated and feel a seizure, PTSD, and disocciation.

This copany has caused me now 2 Seizures.

I experience speech paralysis, and phone calls with automated prompts are nearly impossible.

Even a LCP agent has the audacity to tell me to stop talking when I stated I knew about Lyfts Policies, I was in a PTSD/seizure flare because I was worried about been approached by a stranger, in the rain, and the business was closing, and had no place to sit for an hour and then explaining my disability she was like is there somonoe who can help you schedule since you have this difficulty. None of the healthcare providers will help as they have stated it takes an hour to arrange a ride. My Emergency/POA is at work and is unable to use their computers at work.

Their system is not ADA-compliant—UHC only allows scheduling via computer (the button that supllies this link is not even accessible on their phone app), and LCP has no cell phone app at all. Not convienent for anyone in general or someone with disabilities.

I have scheduled rides online with no issues—until they suddenly blocked me to schedule online. No one at LCP or UHC will fix this. Its been like this for a month.

I have tried logging from UHC website and get this message
Server Error 404 – File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

I get Invalid Account and/or Password on LCP’s website
I have tried my UHC username and my Insurance Member ID Password, and even reset my password but it requires 2 quessions which come up as <>. I have tried plugging in questions thinking they would send a email with no luck.

I have tried refreshing my cache/hisorty and other browsers too.

I’ve been left stranded multiple times, in the rain with no seating, outside a closed business. Before my and after appointment because they require an hour pick-up time and now ththey claim I have to call to be picked up too.

AND I have been approached by sketchy people asking for money and phones. I ended up having a ptsd/seizure because of this. Another stranger ended up havig to take me home because I could not wait an hour for LCP to re-arrange a ride with Lyft to pick me up. But they don’t seem take this serious until someone is assulted, has a injury from seizing, or etc.

They’ve falsely promised reimbursements and blamed UHC for problems that are clearly theirs.

I don’t feel safe with this company. They’re endangering people with serious health conditions. I am probably switching back to Anthem as they seem to have a better quality transportation that has no hurdles calling them and can schedule online. They seem to also be able to save preferences for favorite transportation company, mobility, and just overall slightly more direct and accessible like calling 911 dispatch and professional.

This company is a joke!! I switched my pickup more than 4x and actually just told them again yesterday for an appointment and they sent the driver to the wrong address again today and when I just called them they said I would have to call after 8am to reschedule (missing my appointment over an hour away)…they can’t get anything straight over there and are by FAR the WORST company I’ve ever had transport me….btw the pickup address is literally 5-10 minutes down the same street I used to live on and they couldn’t tell the driver that because of THEIR mistake and it’s not “during business hours” lol….don’t waste you or your doctor’s time with these guys and just call another company….you’ll be happy that you did

Based out of Indy…my elderly mother and I are in Fort Wayne, IN and so… communication is vital for smooth operations. LCP, has the vehicles (both our trips had been done with new Toyota vans, which were handicap accessible and fully automated), they seem to have good people, but the communication (rider access to drivers and dispatchers) needs to be cleaned up…and name badges for ALL drivers could go along way establishing security for the riders (a uniform or dress code would also help). This was our first time utilizing this company for a doctor’s appointment… and both drivers were on time and pleasant. The first driver seemed to be a little unfamiliar what the transport vehicle…and dispatch (when called to pick us up from appointment) seemed to struggle with smoothing communications with my 78 year old mother, who was afraid of having to wait an hour, to be picked up (as was stated by the dispatcher who fielded my mother’s call). We ultimately had no wait and our driver was waiting at the end of our appointment. Maybe this service is handled different if you became a member and handle things over the internet instead of over a cell phone.

BHLY

Terrible transportation services.

The last time after My appointment, I helped the driver with instructions to find the hospital, once He’d arrived instead of Him picking me up. He had 5-6 people who didn’t have any rides scheduled with him & so everyone had got in first way before me & were about to leave me.

After an estimated 10 minutes He’d, asked if their names & none of theit names were mine, so then that’s when I was able to get in & I was telling everyone that wasn’t their ride.

So, I ended up being the 2nd/3rd person to get dropped off at home.

Today My driver actually did leave me & as I was trying to call the driver back, the LCP number makes you redo the whole process, unfortunately.

So, A rude agent called me & stated that My driver was leaving & I had notified Her that I was trying to call back, while coming from the 3rd floor, & I’m on A crutch,

She stated that it didn’t matter.

So now I’ve been waiting for hours for an urgent return trip & still no ride, no one to tell me the cab company that’s supposed to pick me up, or anything!

Also, when the cans come, they just sit her le without notifying anyone who they’re here for, so they’re just getting free money from LCP.

That’s not right!

Thank you!

The feedback I gave them:
Your sign up process provides zero information on what locations don’t offer your services. Businesses like Doordash, Uber, GrubHub, Lyft all provide this information prior to needing to create an account so that you’re aware that you aren’t doing so for no reason. I was require to submit my personal information, send images if my Driver’s License, and wait to be approved just to be let down by the whole process of accessing my account, looking for a ride on a blank map showing only the map itself, trying to determine whether or not I’m expecting technician difficulties, calling customer service, waiting on hold, explaining the issue, being informed the service isn’t available in my area, and having to “convince” the rep to refund me. A MAJOR waste of time.

If I could give this place a zero I most definitely would. They need to get their drivers in check. The drivers work for the company not vise versa. You call 2 days in advance and call the night before to confirm all was good. The day for ride to pick up phone rand off the hook for over an hour asking if still needed ride! 2 drivers called and said they were in way then office called again and cancelled. This was for a Dr appointment. Very unacceptable company.!

Catalog of services offered by ride-sharing services in Indianapolis

    Regulatory compliance and licensing

Civil attorneys can help ride-sharing platforms in Indianapolis navigate a complex regulatory landscape by offering detailed analyses of local ordinances, state transportation statutes, and licensing schemes that govern on-demand transportation. They assess how rules on vehicle inspections, driver background checks, and insurance mandates apply to platform operations, and they advise on aligning onboarding processes with licensing requirements to avoid penalties. Counsel can draft and review procedural manuals, prepare regulatory submissions, and respond to inquiries from city agencies with clear, legally sound documentation. By performing compliance audits and ongoing risk assessments, a civil attorney helps identify gaps, implement risk controls, and ensure operations remain within the bounds of municipal rules and industry expectations. In addition, they help anticipate changes in policy and translate them into actionable internal policies that support continuous compliance across fleets, drivers, and platforms.

    Contract drafting and rider/driver agreements

Civil attorneys provide guidance on shaping and updating the terms of service, rider contracts, and driver agreements to establish clear rights, responsibilities, and remedies. They ensure that privacy notices and data-sharing provisions comply with applicable laws, while maintaining robust arbitration clauses and dispute resolution mechanisms. By addressing indemnification, risk allocation, and disclaimers, counsel helps reduce exposure to liability in a dynamic market. They also review vendor and partner contracts, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure alignment with Indiana consumer protection requirements. This legislative foresight supports a transparent relationship framework for riders, drivers, and the platform, contributing to predictable operations and defensible enforcement of the platform’s policies.

    Accident and liability management

In event of incidents involving riders or drivers, civil attorneys assist with personal injury claims, liability allocation, and insurance coordination. They guide investigations, preserve evidence, and help determine whether shared liability or fault lies with the driver, the platform, third parties, or other motorists. Legal support extends to negotiating settlements, initiating or defending lawsuits, and coordinating with insurers to manage claims handling efficiently. Attorneys can help structure defense strategies that protect the platform's interests while ensuring fair compensation for those harmed. Through proactive risk mitigation, they advise on improving safety policies, incident reporting procedures, and documentation that strengthens the platform’s position in negotiations or proceedings, reducing the likelihood of protracted disputes.

    Consumer protection and dispute resolution

Civil attorneys address potential consumer protection concerns arising from ride-sharing services, including deceptive practices or misrepresentations. They help establish robust dispute resolution programs, offering options such as mediation and arbitration to resolve rider and driver complaints efficiently. Counsel also reviews lead-generation and advertising materials to prevent false advertising or misleading claims, and they ensure compliance with Indiana consumer protection laws. By designing clear complaint pathways and timely response protocols, they support a fair handling process that preserves trust, minimizes litigation risk, and fosters transparent communications with users and regulators alike.

    Insurance programs and risk management

Civil lawyers assist with constructing comprehensive insurance programs that cover drivers, riders, and platform operations. They address liability coverage, physical damage protection, and uninsured/underinsured motorist provisions, ensuring alignment with policy interpretation and regulatory requirements. Their guidance helps coordinate between the platform’s risk management framework and insurer obligations, streamline claims processing, and manage subrogation concerns. In addition, they assess gaps in coverage, help negotiate endorsements, and craft policy language that minimizes ambiguities, facilitating faster settlements and clearer risk transfer for all stakeholders in Indianapolis’s on-demand transportation ecosystem.

    Employment status and worker classification

Civil counsel can illuminate the often nuanced distinctions between independent contractors and employees in the ride-sharing sector. They review applicable wage and hour laws, benefits considerations, and compensation structures to reduce misclassification risk. By identifying the appropriate classification under federal and Indiana law, they help design compliant driver relationships, recommend appropriate payroll models, and advise on how classifications affect benefits, taxes, and liability. This guidance supports a sustainable labor strategy that aligns with regulatory expectations while preserving operational flexibility, reducing exposure to audits or enforcement actions, and enhancing long-term stability for the platform, drivers, and the communities served in Indianapolis.

Data privacy and cybersecurity for riders and drivers

Data privacy and security are central to ride-sharing operations. Civil attorneys advise on privacy compliance, user consent, and data minimization practices, ensuring policies and practices meet applicable laws and platform commitments. They help develop robust privacy notices, data retention schedules, and incident response plans to address potential data breaches promptly and effectively. Counsel also reviews cross-border data transfers, third-party access, and contract language with technology providers to safeguard cybersecurity measures and prevent unauthorized disclosures. By aligning technical safeguards with legal requirements, they help maintain user trust and reduce the risk of regulatory penalties and litigation related to data governance.

Incident response, safety protocols, and accessibility

Civil attorneys support the design and implementation of safety protocols and incident response procedures that govern how the platform reacts to emergencies, system outages, or safety concerns. They advise on reporting obligations to authorities, cooperation with investigations, and the development of training programs for drivers and staff. Accessibility considerations, including ADA compliance, are also addressed to ensure services are available to all users. Counsel can help draft crisis communications plans, evaluate risk from a legal standpoint, and coordinate with regulators during incident investigations, thereby helping to uphold safety standards while maintaining compliance with public safety regulations and civil rights obligations.

To use the service, you open the app, set your pickup location, and request a ride. The platform then matches you with an available driver, who typically arrives within a few minutes. Before you get in, you can see the driver’s name, photo, vehicle details, and an estimated arrival time (ETA). During the trip, you can share your trip progress with a trusted contact and use in-app safety features if needed. This system aims to provide a convenient, flexible alternative to traditional taxis with real-time tracking and clear communication throughout the ride.

How are fares calculated for rides in Indianapolis?

Fares typically consist of a base fare, a component for time, a component for distance, and various fees. In Indianapolis, you may also encounter surge pricing during periods of high demand, which increases the overall cost. Additional charges can include tolls, airport fees if applicable, and cancellation fees if you cancel after a short grace period. It’s helpful to review the price estimate in the app before you ride so you know the expected range and any potential extras.

What safety features are available for riders and drivers?

Key safety features include a rider and driver rating system, in-app emergency button, trip sharing with a trusted contact, and the ability to verify driver identity and vehicle details. Some apps offer an intelligent routing to avoid unsafe areas and a live location feed during the trip. If you feel unsafe at any point, you can use the safety toolkit to contact authorities or the service provider for assistance.

What happens if a driver is late or cancels my ride?

Driver punctuality and cancellations are typically governed by a cancellation policy and a grace period before a fee applies. If a driver is late or cancels, you can often request another nearby driver within the app, or receive a refund or credit depending on the service’s terms. The app may also suggest alternative pickup options and rebooking for your convenience.

Are ride-sharing services accessible for riders with disabilities?

Many ride-sharing platforms offer options to improve accessibility, including wheelchair-accessible vehicles where available, features that support assistive devices, and accessibility settings within the app. It’s common to be able to request extra time for boarding, communicate accessibility needs to the driver, and, in some cases, enable audio or visual aids to assist with navigation and ride safety.

What insurance coverage applies to riders and drivers in Indianapolis?

Insurance coverage for ride-sharing typically includes a combination of personal auto insurance and the rideshare policy provided by the driver partner during different phases of the trip. Most services maintain liability coverage when a trip is active in the app, with additional protections during pickup and en route segments. Some policies also address uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage and injury protection for both riders and drivers. It’s important to understand how coverage applies in your state and review any policy details if you have questions about protection limits.

What payment options are available and how does tipping work?

Most ride-sharing platforms operate on a cashless payment model, using a credit or debit card or a linked digital wallet stored in the app. You can usually set a default payment method and receive an itemized receipts after each ride. Tipping is typically optional and can be added in the app either at the end of the ride or in some cases before the ride completes. You should review the tipping guidelines within the app to understand how tips are processed and distributed.

How can I verify my driver and vehicle before getting in?

Before you enter a vehicle, check that the driver’s name and photo in the app match the person in the car, and verify the license plate and vehicle model displayed in the app. Consider asking the driver to confirm your pickup location and share your trip details with a friend or family member through the app. For added security, enable trip sharing and use the safety toolkit if needed during the ride.

Ride-sharing operators typically comply with a combination of state laws, city regulations, and licensing requirements. In Indianapolis, drivers may need to meet background checks, vehicle inspections, and commercial liability standards as part of ongoing compliance. Riders should be aware of any local policies that relate to parking, pickup zones, and safety standards to ensure a smooth experience.

What should I do if I feel unsafe or need to report a problem during a ride?

If you feel unsafe, use the in-app safety features to share your trip with a trusted contact, contact authorities, or reach out to the service's support team. Most platforms encourage riders to submit a post-trip incident report to help investigate and prevent future issues.
