I have been attending Club Pilates North for several years now. I absolutely love it! The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable & patient. The studio is always clean, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I have horrible posture from sitting at my desk at work for 10-12 hours every day. Pilates has helped my back & core strength. I feel rejuvenated after each class. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a fun & effective workout. If you aren’t sure what type of workout is best for you, Pilates is always a good place to start. It’s a mix of strength training, flexibility, balance & mobility work. You won’t regret trying it out ….trust me!

I took a trial session this week with Emily at Club Pilates, Indy North location and loved it! Emily does a great job of explaining each step and checking in with each person to be sure it is working for every new exercise. I’m looking forward to continuing with Emily‘s class weekly.

Checked out Club Pilates North for an introductory class. Reception area was clean and welcoming as was the receptionist. The instructor was pleasant and thorough with her pre-workout instructions. The studio was clean, organized and well equipped. The 30 minute class includes safety instructions as well as clear basic explanations of the moves and what area they are working. Overall a good introduction to Pilates. Would recommend for anyone interested.

I love my Pilates studio! The classes are relaxed and enjoyable, and I quickly noticed improvements in my strength and toning. The staff is very friendly & helpful! They are amazing, helping local veterans achieve their fitness goals! I’m a disabled veteran & chronic pain warrior. I had an Achilles tendon rupture at the beginning of March and had to drop everything including my Pilates classes, I was devastated. Fast forward 3 1/2 months my achilles tendon had grown back in and the staff was able to work me back in on their schedule for June & July! This was detrimental to my physical therapy & recovery! Core strength is so important to our veterans who can’t get this level of service anywhere else! Bravo Zulu to the staff as we say in the military; Job well done! ️

Online Schedule Process ~ Intro Class
* Online completion of required medical forms/other waivers for pre-class failed, resulting in onsite registration sign-off a few minutes prior to the intro class. I am concerned that Club Pilates personnel did not fully reviewed my physical/medical forms prior to approving my participation.
Initial Visit ~ Intro Class
* Upon entry, the facility appeared clean and the reception staff was kind and welcoming.
* The introductory class for which I was scheduled started approx. 30-40 minutes late b/c the other participant enrolled in the class arrived late.
* I intially enjoyed meeting Emily Instructor, as she seemed enthusiastic, knowlegable and client-centered.
* Approx. 20 min. into the intro session it appeared that the instructor’s focus shifted from an all client-focus to that of the least-fit client to lock-in a multi-month commitment.
I’m glad I attended a pilates workout there, however, I’m not convinced that my experience at Club Pilates is the indicative of the rich and rewarding workouts my friends and loved ones have experienced at other local and domestic studios.

I am so happy I joined this studio. I joined after having our first kid which helped me feel soooo much better. Now with our second baby on the way I feel better going into delivery. I did yoga with our first but had a tough delivery, I can tell that I am so much stronger this time and feel less nervous going into it. I’ve had so many great instructors for classes and private lessons. Thank you for helping me feel comfortable in my body!

Update from previous review in 2022 – I have been a member for two years now and have been loving the community of women I get to interact with in class – the instructors are very knowledgeable (shout out to Megan, Tia, Sigourney, and Lori as I typically take their classes throughout the week). Strongly recommend, 10/10.
I thoroughly enjoy the instructors and the low impact – high quality workout. Small classes make it more personal and easier to truly have a mind body connection. The pilates workout along with the instructors is really what is keeping me coming back.

The instructors really care and are committed to challenging us, but also ensuring proper form. I look forward to classes every week! It’s a very friendly and welcoming studio for either some one brand new to Pilates or someone experienced. You get a lot of attention because the classes are smaller than large studios. I’ve been a member since 2015 and highly recommend this studio.

I had my first Pilates experience ever with Lisa and she was wonderful! She explained everything in a way that I could follow and was very nice. From the time I walked through the door until I left everyone was so friendly. I enjoyed my first session so much that I purchased more private lessons! I’m super excited to go back! Wonderful place!

I highly recommend Reforming Indy, regardless of skill or experience level. The instructors are fabulous and the staff is so friendly! I finally found an exercise program that challenges me, but is easy on my joints and my arthritic body. The instructors are kind and patient and can help you modify when necessary!

My sister brought me to my first ever reformer class a few months ago and I have been hooked since that experience. I am NOT a morning person, but I willingly get up at the crack of dawn to go to Lisa’s morning classes as often as possible. The classes challenge me every single time and I love it! She is so creative with the movement that the class is over before I know it and I am ready to start my day with a smile on my face. Highly recommended!

Reforming Indy has completely changed my view on “working out”. This studio not only focuses on the body but also the mind and soul. The classes are small, which allows for plenty of one-on-one teaching. I would recommend Reforming Indy to absolutely anyone – regardless of skill or experience level. The instructors will challenge you but will always make modifications to suit you. Best Pilates Studio in Indy!

Era Pilates is such a beautiful studio. The natural light makes it so inviting and the whole space feels fresh and energizing. Khloe is a fantastic instructor! She has such a positive, upbeat approach while still giving clear and easy-to-follow directions. As someone getting back into fitness, I’ve never felt more comfortable walking into a new space. I actually look forward to class every time. Highly recommend!

Absolutely love Khole’s classes at Era’s Pilates! She creates a welcoming and positive environment that makes every session both challenging and fun. I always leave feeling stronger and more accomplished, and I truly appreciate how much laughter and encouragement she brings to class.
I also want to mention how much I enjoy all the staff at Era’s Pilates. The entire team is warm, supportive, and genuinely cares about women’s health and wellness. The environment feels empowering and inclusive, and I always feel comfortable and motivated when I’m there. Highly recommend Era’s Pilates to anyone looking for a great workout and a supportive community!

This was my first time trying Pilates and I feel so lucky to have met Khloe! She is full of energy, very attentive, and teaches with so much care. After just one class, I knew I wanted to continue learning with her.
I’m working toward a strong and toned physique, and Khloe herself is the perfect example of the kind of results I’m aiming for. Her approach and fitness philosophy really resonate with me. She even designs classes tailored to my preference for strength-focused training, which I absolutely love.
If you’re looking for Pilates that is both empowering and full of vitality, I can’t recommend Khloe’s classes enough!

My first ever pilates session was with Khloe in January 2025 at Era Pilates. It has been a few months now of doing one private class a week. I have noticed a huge change in how I feel about my body, how my clothes fit, my balance, and my level of fitness. I always look forward to the class even though I know that the next day it will hurt to walk.
I really appreciated how she approached the conversation of what my goals were during my first private class and she has done a great job of tailoring my classes to get the results I want. I enjoy that Khloe brings so much variety to the classes which keeps the classes fun and challenging. Khloe does a great job of safely pushing you towards your fitness goals by focusing on form. It is a really rewarding experience when I can successfully do reps of an exercise I could only do one of during the previous week.
I would highly recommend booking a private class or group class at Era Pilates with Khloe!

I started doing Pilates at the beginning of this year and have been working with Hali in one on one prenatal sessions. Our sessions are one of the highlights of my week. I didn’t know I’d end up liking Pilates so much and Hali is such a wonderful instructor. She ensures that I am doing the exercises well and listens when I mention any aches and pains so she can adjust the session accordingly. I feel completely safe working with Hali during my pregnancy and am feeling stronger and more capable physically than I did during my first pregnancy. I am happy to have found Era Pilates and recommend this studio to anyone interested in working on building and maintaining strength and developing their mind body connection – pregnant or not!

I’m not one to leave reviews but if you’re hesitant about signing up for classes at Era Pilates, you shouldn’t be! I started my Pilates journey doing privates with Mary, who is extremely knowledgeable in Pilates. She challenges you in the best way possible all the while being considerate of your physical state. With my schedule change, I started taking privates with another instructor-Liz, who is just a joy to be around. Her energy and passion for Pilates is evident in her classes. The 55 minutes almost always fly by since she is amazing at incorporating different equipments and movements. I have a long list of good things to say about the instructors and studio in general. Comparing my experience at Era versus other studios, I can confidently say that you should give them a try.

If you’re an absolute sadist like me who enjoys apologizing to friends and family when they ask, “Why are you walking so slow?” – just because you love being able to flex you’ve begun your journey towards becoming a Pilates princess – then you will LOVE Khloe Lockwood!
I never drank pre-workout before I started classes with Khloe, but now I snort my pre-workout just to jumpstart my heart in order to keep up in her classes. Her classes will absolutely kick your butt. She pushes her clients and makes sure they get their money’s worth (because let’s be honest – pilates is not cheap!), but I PROMISE you, she’ll never give you more than you can handle.
She’s funny, motivating, personable, has a great eye for detail and is one of the best instructors to help guide you along your Pilates journey. Thanks to her, I am sooo much stronger and flexible than I was before just a month ago, and now I can finally see my abs. I genuinely look forward to pilates class because I know I’ll get a great workout in thanks to her.
Khloe is truly an incredible teacher who will push you, make you work HARD, but always within your limits. I cannot recommend her enough.

My husband and I have been doing private sessions with Anna and she is truly the most amazing instructor ever! I tried this out a few months ago on a beginner package deal they were running and fell in love with the classes. I’d always wanted to try reformer Pilates but was nervous. I’d never done a class like that, never been on a reformer, and really hadn’t done any structured workout classes in a while. Well, safe to say I haven’t missed a week since I started going. I love these classes. I wasn’t flexible and was nervous but took a few intro classes and have moved up. I’ve been taught by Joanna, Anna, Karly, and Michele, but I take most of my classes with Anna. I love her! She is encouraging, she takes the time to learn your name, helps with adjustments and doesn’t make you feel less than if there’s a move you can’t do. I look forward to my class every week, it’s truly the highlight of my whole week! If anyone i reading this and is curious about Pilates but has zero experience, I’m here to tell you this is the studio for you. Try it out, you won’t regret it. Since I signed up, I’ve convinced 3 more friends to take classes who love it too!!

I signed up for a promo pack to try out Pilates. Joanna is the owner and was also my teacher for the 5 classes I went to. I did 4 classes with the reformer machine and one of the Matt classes. It was great getting to experience the reformer machine, Joanna is a very patient and inspiring teacher. She does a great job with both new and experienced students.
The studio is very clean, stylish, and well put together. I enjoyed my experience and felt better after each session I went to. I would highly recommended giving this studio a whirl.

I have been going to IHP for almost 5 year I think. I took a year off during pandemic only. IHP has classes for all. I love their reformer classes and non equipment classes as well. I’ve been attending classes 5-7 days a week at IHP for over a year now after regularly attending a downtown Indy studio for 10+ years. The instructors at IHP really make an effort in getting to know you & what goals you have for your body. Recently Jessie & Rachel helped me safely ease back into my routine after a breast reconstruction surgery with private sessions. I love the focus on proper technique over number of reps and how it’s made me more aware of my body. The overall vibe of the studio, instructors, & other clients is so supportive & lighthearted while still maintaining a serious focus on your fitness and health. And the variety of classes & workshops offered lets me keep adding new challenges to my exercise routine. I love my IHP family!

Great studio with a wide variety of classes across both rooms, with options for all fitness levels and genders. The space is bright, stylish, and perfect for a quick photo before or after class. They also host lots of membership events that make it feel like a true community. Vanessa, the owner, goes above and beyond to make members feel welcome and appreciated. Plus, the studio pups, Roo and Dain, are always an added treat. My favorite classes are Triple Threat and Power Reformer.

I’ve practiced at both the north and south studios since 2009. Katie’s instructors are some of the best in Indy. This is Pilates as it was meant to be offered…. no gimmicky hybrids, but the real deal. The instructors are very aware of each participant’s capabilities and offer accommodations for any level of practitioner. The studio’s schedules are consistent so you can feel confident committing to a package and planning your practice! Highly recommend.

This is the place to go if you want true, by the book Pilates — where the instructors pay attention to your form and body. Providing feed back and adjustments to inform good practice.
I have been to many studios that pack people in and do not pay attention to the students, allowing them to develop bad habits because the goal is to burn calories, not build muscle in the right way.
Would recommend Pilates Indy to everyone!

I had wanted to try Pilates using the machines for a long time out of curiousity. The onset of plantar fasciitis and extreme stiffness of the body gave me the push I needed. I looked up Pilates studios and this was the first one I called. The owner was very kind and informative, answering my many questions. My first session, I was instructed by Paige Robinson and left the studio literally crying with relief. I have continued to do weekly sessions with Paige, whose knowledge of the exercises, patience and sense of humor knows no bounds. I cannot recommend her as an instructor or Indy Pilates as a studio highly enough. This is a life-changing experience!

The best Pilates studio in Indy! Experienced and highly knowledgeable teachers, small classes with plenty of observation for each class member, great class line-up and plenty of parking – a real bonus in Broad Ripple! It’s no exaggeration for me to say that 15 years of Pilates with this studio has greatly enhanced my quality of life. Thank you Pilates Indy Inc.!

Great place to come to for stretching seldom used muscles, working on painful joints, and attention to special needs. Kristen, the pilates instructor, knows her stuff, gentle and concerned about your personal physical needs. As senior, I enjoy my once a week workout. Recommend Pilates Indy to anyone.

Open gym at Pink Moon Pilates was amazing! It was my first time ever doing Pilates and the instructor (Rolanda) broke it down to my understanding and comfort level while still providing a great workout. The equipment and the atmosphere were pristine and I’m excited about going back!

This was my first time doing Pilates, and I had such a great experience! Lindsay was so nice and lead me through the session knowing that I was a beginner. It was definitely challenging, but I was able to do all the exercises.

I’m an avid runner completely new to pilates or any similar activity. I am glad I found lindsey and pilates. Lindsey is very knowledgeable. I love her form of teaching especially since pilates is somewhat foreign to me. During her classes we are not just going through the motions. She ensures you are doing the movements correctly and makes sure you understand how and why you are doing them. I look forward to continuing my classes and strengthening all more weak points.

am about to reach my 20th Pilates class with the instructor and owner of pink Moon Pilates, lindsey Patel, and I am feeling like I’m on top of the world! There’s no better feeling than knowing that you were doing something really great for your body and having fun at the same time! Lindsey is an amazing coach and she spends so much time, encouraging me and pushing me to go forward! She is a sweet and mindful person when it comes to correcting and helping me get better every single week. The private lessons were really well for me as I’m not a person that likes to work out in front of people so Lindsey studio is absolutely perfect for me. I look forward to getting my ass kicked every week! Hahha
If you are interested in Pilates at all and looking for more hands-on experience, I cannot recommend Lindsey and her studio enough !!!!

Lindsay is a highly trained and skilled Pilates instructor. I have taken sessions with her for at least 6 yrs, if not longer. I have taken classes from many instructors and Lindsay is one of the best. Her cues are detailed but easy to follow. She is constantly changing up our sessions so that I never get bored.

Amazing Experience
I had an amazing experience at [solidcore] Broad Ripple! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the clean, modern, and energizing atmosphere of the studio.
Uma, the instructor, was absolutely fantastic. She was incredibly attentive, making sure everyone had proper form and felt supported throughout the class. Her guidance made a challenging workout feel approachable, and her energy kept me motivated the entire time.
Even though it was my first time, I felt comfortable and excited to push myself. The class was intense but rewarding, and I can’t wait to come back. Next time, I plan to try the Starter 50 for beginners to build a solid foundation.
If you’re looking for a high-quality, results-driven workout with excellent instruction, I highly recommend checking out [solidcore] Broad Ripple!

The workout was great, but the customer service is terrible. I left multiple voicemails, texts, and emailed several times and never received any communication back. My card was double charged for a class, but when I tried to register to use the second “class pass” I got an automated email saying I missed a registered class time and therefore lost my credit.
If you really want new members OR for your current members to stay, just call/email people back.

Missed the class due to an accident on the
interstate causing me to be about 5 minutes late. I still drove there in hopes of being able to speak with someone and was told that my credits on class pass would be returned so I could sign up for another class. Over 24 hours later, countless calls, 1 voicemail, and 1 email/message later, I still have received no response and been unable to get in contact with the location. It’s disappointing as I was really looking forward to experiencing Solidcore.
UPDATE: I was finally able to connect with someone and once I was, the lead trainers/managers both downtown and in broad ripple were very helpful with this process. Truly appreciated the communication, so I’ve updated this review to 5 stars.

Frequently asked questions about pilates studios in Indianapolis
What is Pilates and what benefits does it offer at studios in Indianapolis?
Pilates is a mindful exercise method that emphasizes controlled movements, precise alignment, and coordinated breath with movement. In Indianapolis studios, practitioners commonly notice improvements in core strength, posture, and balance, along with greater flexibility and joint mobility. Regular sessions can support better stability for daily activities and reduce the risk of common injuries. The practice also cultivates a strong mind-body connection, which can enhance concentration during workouts. Across all levels, Pilates aims to build sustainable movement habits that translate beyond the mat.
How do I choose a good Pilates studio in Indianapolis?
To choose a good studio in Indianapolis, start by checking the credentials and experience of instructors, since trained teachers guide safe progression. Look for a studio with a range of class formats that include beginner options and gradual progressions. Consider practical factors such as parking, location, and schedule flexibility to fit your routine. Read reviews to gauge the consistency of instruction and the overall customer experience. A site visit or trial class can help you assess cleanliness, equipment availability, and the trainer-student dynamic.
What equipment is commonly used in Pilates studios in Indianapolis?
Many studios in Indianapolis offer a mix of reformers, chairs, and cadillacs for equipment-based work, in addition to mat work. They may also provide small props like resistance bands, small balls, and foam rollers to support diverse movements. Even when using machines, instructors emphasize breath control and proper alignment throughout the session. Studios often balance equipment-based and floor-based sequences to address different goals. This variety helps accommodate beginners through advanced practitioners.
Do Pilates studios in Indianapolis offer beginner classes or programs?
Yes, most studios provide beginner-friendly programs designed to establish foundational breathing, posture, and movement patterns. Introductory sessions typically focus on safe modifications and gradual progressions so newcomers can build confidence. Instructors often tailor movements to individual mobility and fitness levels, ensuring that beginners can participate without feeling overwhelmed. A well-structured beginner track can pave the way for more advanced classes and reformer work. Consistency in the early stages helps you develop a solid practice foundation.
What should I wear and bring to a Pilates class in Indianapolis?
Choose comfortable, form-fitting athletic wear that allows full range of motion, along with grippy socks if required by the studio. Avoid loose clothing that can get caught in equipment, and consider layering for temperature changes in the studio. Bring a water bottle and a small towel for personal use, especially during warm-ups or intense sequences. Some studios provide towels and mats, but it’s good to confirm in advance. Most importantly, wear clothes that you feel secure moving in and that let the instructor observe your alignment and core engagement.
Are Pilates classes suitable for all ages and fitness levels in Indianapolis?
Pilates is adaptable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels, with instructors providing modifications to accommodate injuries, pregnancy, or strength limitations. If you have a medical condition or recent surgery, you should obtain medical clearance before starting, and inform your instructor so they can tailor the program safely. Regular attendees often progress from gentle foundations to more challenging sequences as mobility improves. The key is to communicate openly about your goals and any discomfort you experience. Consistency with proper technique yields the best results over time.
What should I expect during my first visit or introductory session in an Indianapolis studio?
During a first session, you’ll typically undergo a brief movement assessment and discuss your goals, medical history, and any limitations. The instructor will explain breathing patterns, initial exercises, and how to recruit the core and other stabilizing muscles. Expect a gradual introduction to equipment-based work or a series of mat-based movements depending on your plan. The session is designed to establish a baseline and set realistic expectations for progress. You should leave with a clear understanding of the upcoming schedule and how to approach practice between visits.
How do instructors in Indianapolis studios ensure safety and modifications for injuries?
Safety is a priority, and instructors create individualized plans that consider any injuries or limitations. They perform ongoing technique checks and provide modifications to reduce strain while preserving effectiveness. Instructors emphasize clear communication and encourage you to report discomfort promptly. Studios often request medical clearance for certain conditions and coordinate with you to adjust workload and range of motion accordingly. This collaborative approach helps maintain safety while supporting continued progress.
What are typical pricing structures and membership options for Pilates studios in Indianapolis?
Pricing in Indianapolis studios can vary, with options including per-class rates, membership plans, and multi-class packages. Some studios offer an introductory offer for new clients to experience several sessions at a reduced price. Prices often reflect equipment access, class size, and whether sessions are private or semi-private. It’s common to see discounts for ongoing bulk purchases or monthly memberships with a set number of classes. Always check for pricing transparency and any cancellation terms before committing.
What is the typical class format and scheduling tips for Pilates studios in Indianapolis?
Most studios offer a mix of group classes, private sessions, and occasionally duet formats to fit different preferences. Class formats often focus on breath coordination, core engagement, and equipment work or mat sequences. To maximize progress, try to schedule regular sessions several times per week and maintain a consistent practice routine. Arriving a few minutes early allows time for pre-class setup and warm-up adjustments. If you anticipate a schedule change, contact the studio promptly to explore cancellation or rescheduling options.
