Best pet boarding in Indianapolis: find options near you

There are not a lot of options for cat grooming around Indy but I was recommended Sleepy Hollow by my veterinarian. I had a great experience with their service. I have a long haired cat who was well overdue for some grooming. He had matted fur and they were able to take care of him. He ended up needed a full lion shave but he’s in much better shape now. I appreciated the communication on how the process went. I will return for future cat grooming! Thank you!

I have been taking my Irish Golden Doodle dog child to Catlynn and Sleepy Hallow for well over a year now. We live downtown and had tried a few different very expensive different places. No one could give him a. it’s cut. He has different hair than a straight doodle bc of the Irish Setter. It’s not as tight so it doesn’t mat unless it’s super long and barely then. He came back full face shaved once, all kinds of embarrassing. My niece recommended Sleepy Hallow. She boards her dogs here. Catlynn has helped me get River back to his cute authentic self 🤣 It is also much more affordable for dogs that need more frequent cuts. Catlynn and the entire staff have been incredibly kind not only to River but to me as well. Going above and beyond to treat us like family. We highly recommend them and it’s really not far from Bates Hendricks/Garfield Park/Fountain Square area!

I have no clue what they did to my dog. I boarded my pup here for a couple weeks and I was scared to death because of how timid he is. However, when he returned home he was like a new, refreshed dog. He had more confidence and energy. He also picked up some good habits, like laying down while he waits and walking better on leash. I can’t say enough great things! They put my mind at ease with daily report cards, great communication, and add-on’s they offer. I was able to make sure he got his exercise and treats. You can also bring your pups own toys and belongings, which was great for a pup who needs his emotional support toy. I also had him groomed before pick up and of course they worked their magic there too. They got him to cooperate somehow and he was soooo soft. Even his little, dry paw pads were all softened up. I have to say the price scared me a bit, a little too good to be true. I had someone on stand by in case something went wrong. I was unsure my pup would get proper care at their prices, but I stand corrected and blown away! They don’t appear to cut corners. I think they really care about all the fur babies and I plan to use them again! Despite having been to training and doggy day care elsewhere, this is the one place that he came back from as a whole new happy pup 💗 Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The folks at Sleepy Hollow take good care of my buddy and have been doing so for many years! I like the add-on offerings, which are reasonably priced. I also have my dog groomed there and Zoe does a fantastic job!

First time ever boarding a cat. Everyone I dealt with at Sleepy Hollow Pet Ranch was very cheerful and forthcoming with information. They were very accommodating to get my 16 year old Tommy Boi cat in on short notice, going so far as to rearrange some areas for him to be able to stay all 4 days. Would definitely use again.

Our huge GSD (105+ lbs and tall) with horrible separation anxiety always loved his time at Sleepy Hollow (usually 2-3 day trips). He could be a handful and very particular about handling, but they always accommodated our sweet boy and welcomed him. If needed, they even reinforce the kennels for strong, determined pups like him. 🙂 We were always so grateful to have a boarder we could trust to keep him safe and happy even through his anxiety! We still recommend them to everyone. Included a video of our big baby. ❤️

I chose this place for my Dobe because of the amazing reviews I saw online. I have been cautious about taking him to groomers around the city in fear they couldn’t handle a big dog and big personality like his! I found this location and although it is about 15 minutes away from me, it’s worth the drive because they take such great care of their animals! This was his first time being groomed without his mom or dad being present and In a facility with other dogs. We normally bathe him at home but with the winter months it’s been difficult! They did a FANTASTIC job with him to say the least. They were so gentle and patient with him even though he was a little nervous. They even gave me a report card after his grooming about how well he did and when they recommend his next session. Such an amazing first experience and we will definitely be coming back! I will highly recommend sleepy hallow pet ranch to anyone in the area! The team was amazing and it feels great to be able to trust my fur baby with such amazing people.

It had been difficult to find a boarding facility that my two high energy pups would like, but Priority Boarding delivered! The staff are committed, kind, and you can tell they really love animals. They’re also flexible when I have to change drop off or pick up times based on weather and flight delays. I have peace of mind with the facility being vet owned and the attention to detail the staff puts in to make sure the dogs are taken care of and healthy. I especially enjoy the pictures and videos that are sent in the report cards. I can’t say enough good things about Priority Boarding, they’re wonderful!

this was our first time boarding any of the 3 of our dogs. we were slightly nervous, bit we were going out of town and needed someone to watch our dogs. we found priority boarding and realized they are open 24 hours. That definitely helped ease our minds that someone would be with our fur babies at all times. as someone who works in the veterinary field, knowing this facility is veterinarian owned and run, definitely helped ease my mind in knowing if something happened to my pets, the vet would be called in to evaluate. the facility is also extremely clean. I loved getting our dogs report cards and getting photos to see how they are doing. everyone we worked with was so great and knowledgeable super sweet. We also were able to take a tour of the facility before booking. we will absolutely be using priority boarding again and recommending to anyone who needs a place to board.

We love Priority Boarding! Our two English bulldogs ( Harley and Libby) love going to see their friends. My husband and I are very protective pet parents and when our babies are at priority, we can just relax knowing they are taken care of and loved, like they are at home. We have recommended Priority time and time again! And feel like the people there are an extended family to us. Thank you to the wonderful humans that take care of our fur babies! We will see you again soon. We highly recommend Priority Boarding. They are amazing. They actually cared recently for Harley again and he has an issue physically and they took such good care of him. 100% of the time you should use Priority Boarding! Everyone there is so amazing. And Harley and Libby approve.

Our cat is diabetic and needs insulin orally. Priority Boarding put all fears to rest by not only taking excellent care of him, but loving on him and sending awesome daily report cards with pics and video. All of the caregivers at priority boarding are amazing! I never thought I would be able to board my diabetic Kitty, however they thankfully have proved us wrong. I highly recommend!

Our dog, Fezzick, loves going to Priority Boarding! The team there takes such great care of our old guy. They have a special section that is a bit quieter for him which helps with the anxiety of being away from his humans. Fezzick loves the special play time he gets with the staff when he visits. Take the worry out of boarding your pet and use Priority Boarding next time you go out of town or just need daycare services while you’re out and about for the day.

I was really nervous leaving my puppy for her first boarding trip. However, everything about Priority Boarding made it a great experience! The daily report cards, knowing they are veterinary owned, and the ease of knowing she had wonderful people taking care of her made it a relaxing trip for me also! Really not enough good things to say! Indy came home happy and I feel much better about her next visit!! With my husband working in racing, it’s important to have a facility I can trust while we are sometimes away on long weekends. This is definitely our go-to from now on!

The staff is always so kind (any time I’ve been – day or night!) and they take great care of my boy!! I love getting report card updates and they also did an AMAZING job with his bath!

We did boarding for our 10 year old yorkie for 5 days. Jack wouldn’t eat and mainly stayed in his crate. The staff was so attentive to him. They made sure to call us every day either updates. I even saw Riley actually try to hand feed him. They were so gentle and caring…. Jenny was another staff person who made sure to keep us informed. Unfortunately, I don’t have everyone’s names but I thank them all!

I mostly use the grooming salon and they are very caring and gentle with my dog who is now 15yrs old. They will call me when there is a concern and accommodate us in every way. They are wonderful and truly have love and care for their four legged clients.

I recently lodged my 3 young cats at Barkefellers – Indianapolis West. This was the first time I boarded cats and I was really nervous. The lodging ‘condos’ for the cats were much more spacious than other boarding facilities that I looked at and were a comparable price. Barkefellers administered medicine at no extra charge and did not over feed my cats. They responded promptly by text or call with my requests for updates even on major holidays. My cats were happy to be home, and seemed relatively unphased by the time away. Thank you, employees of Barkefellers for caring for my cats when we were away. I will be utilizing your service again in the future.

Barkefellers has always been my dogs ‘happy place’. She absolutely loves going to play. She also stays there if I go out of town. She does great because she loves to go and play and I do get the package where she plays most of the day. This makes it so easy and familiar for her. The employees also treat her as if she was their own. She also gets groomed there which has also been wonderful !

If you are a small breed dog mom or dad, I would highly recommend NOT sending your dog to Barkefellers. While an incident occurred where my 11 month old, 45 pound dog did not make a wise choice, the manager on duty reinforced to me that the 8 pound dog my dog injured was mixed in with his group of dogs-dogs that weigh as much as 45lbs, if not more. I find this absolutely unacceptable and incredibly poor policy. I was told by the manager that the 8 pound dog «had the energy» of the size of my dog and «was able to keep up with them,» so that is why the small dog was with that group. I would caution every small breed mom & dad to second guess your decision on daycare or boarding at Barkefellers. Response to management’s response: This is exactly why I caution every pet owner with small breeds who send their pet to this business. They say themselves that there are multiple factors to how they place dogs in groups; I agree that there should be multiple factors. But there’s absolutely no reason for an 8 pound dog to be mixed with 20+ dogs that are 40 pounds or more. They even told me before that my dog is a «spirited player.» They knew he plays rough. Yet they still let an 8 pound dog play with 20+ dogs just like mine. Let that speak for yourself. If they cannot protect your pets, you can by not trusting Barkefellers.

We love Barkefellers and so do our pets, especially our doggo! We have only used the boarding service, but he is always excited to play with the other dogs and have the staff dote on him. The staff is very caring and provides regular updates they call «Pawgress reports.»

We love Barkafellers! We can tell our dog, Scout, has the best time because he always comes home and just sleeps for so long! Most recently, he went in with his winter coat coming in, fur tufts, shedding, all the fun stuff, and came back looking like a million bucks! I actually called and they said Ava most likely came in from the South location to help out so just wanted to give her a special kudos because I know I could not get him looking that good and his nails filed that well! Excellent experience all around, and we will definitely continue to trust Barkefellers with all of our boarding, day play, and grooming needs! P.s. Sorry Ava if I spelled you name wrong and for any hearing damage you may have suffered during Scout’s (a husky) bath!

Camp Bow Wow has always been extremely flexible with our dog Atlas! They have provided bathing, nail cutting, and boarding services and we have never been disappointed! He doesn’t get much interaction with other puppies so I was a little nervous when we boarded him earlier this year, but having the cameras available to watch him was so calming. They also did an amazing job communicating with my roommate and I when Atlas had some issues with other pups, which was so greatly appreciated as we were immediately informed on why he was where he was, and we appreciated knowing what we could work on with him in the future. It was very reassuring to know how attentive the staff is, and how they work to make sure all the dogs are safe and cared for. We will be returning to Camp Bow Wow for all things Atlas, and we can’t explain how grateful we are to the staff! You all are amazing!

I have been taking my dog to camp bow wow since he was a puppy and never had any issues until I was attacked one morning by an aggressive dog at drop off. The staff did not know how to handle this situation and did little to reassure me that my dog would be safe in camp with the aggressive dog. Camp Bow Wow handled the situation unprofessionally and did not kick the aggressive dog out because they said were good customers and could not afford to lose the business. The owner waited to contact me until 2 weeks after the incident and took no ownership over the situation. This situation is sad because my dog loves the staff at camp bow wow. But I cannot safely let him attend day care here any longer knowing that good business is prioritized over safety.

This place is great. A friendly, dog loving group that don’t overcharge for a premium service. They had our Dodger while we were on fall break. 7 days with a nail clip and bath on pickup day for under $550.

This is the best camp bow wow and take care of the dogs so well. Both my dogs stayed for a week and came back happy and well looked after. The staff are great and communicate well.

Maple has been going to the Southport Camp Bow Wow for a few years now. I appreciate having a supervised and safe place for her to play and interact with other dogs. She is always excited to go to «Bow Wow» and I enjoy watching parts of her day from the cameras. I always smile when I drop her off and they recognize her and they say «There’s Mae Mae» (I love the nickname!). I also love seeing the random pictures of her that they post! Here she is upside down – an upside down puppy is a happy puppy! Thank you to the staff and counselors for all you do for us!

Camp Bow Wow is awesome. Every staff member is excellent – very knowledgeable and treat your pup like their own. Couldn’t recommend a better place to keep your dog engaged and entertained during the work day!!

We are always comfortable with Barefellers staff knowing Luna is well cared for during our travels. Very pleased with their grooming and adding services. Border Collies aren’t always the most cooperative but they seem to make sure her cut is clean and well groomed.

Keeva loves playing with her friends at daycare! She comes home happy and very tired. The staff are great from boarding, grooming and daycare! We love Barkefellers Northeast! 🐾❤️

We brought our new English cream retriever puppy in to play and they introduced offer was amazing- $30 for 30 days and we took full advantage. He played every day with other pups and got use to the environment well! We will def be going there for daycare and boarding

Our high-strung cocker spaniel loves it at Barkefellers! We never have to worry about anything with the friendly and professional staff. We always get him a spa treatment, too, so he always comes home from his vacation looking handsome and smelling great.

Dexter loves to go to Barkefellers for day care so he can play with all the other dogs and get extra attention from the staff. The staff is great and always makes me feel like they like having Dexter visit. Barkefellers is the only place I trust to board Dexter! I know he is well cared for while there.

I have been a dog over for over 20 years, and Rose is by far is the best groomer I have ever had. If she ever left Barkefellers, I would have to follow her. My dog absolutely adores her like no other person then maybe me lol

We love Barkefellers! Our puppies have been going for the past three years to both the Avon and Fishers locations and we have never had a problem. The staff is friendly, greet our pups by name, and truly care for the animals in their care. Each time our puppies come home tired, after burning all their energy in group play. I could not recommend enough for both daycare and boarding.

Stella is a new member of the Puppy Playground pack and she might not have started out with straight A’s but she has really enjoyed her first few days meeting new friends, both human and fur friends. The incredibly kind staff have answered any questions we have had and made sure our shy girl had the time explore and get comfortable with her new friends and surroundings. My dogs LOVE this place. There is a large variety of dogs for them to play with, indoor and outdoor area, and the staff actually interacts with the dogs. They even have pools for the summer. Mine go for half days (6 hours) and they sleep the rest of the day. Money well spent.

Super friendly folks; efficiently run business! You can tell the staff really care and understand your dogs! My pup LOVES to have a day at Puppy Playground. We take her for exercise and enrichment; we’ve never boarded her. Highly recommend these folks!

I use Puppy Playground for daycare and for boarding for my two pups. The photo-themed add-ons are also great because it makes it easy for me to get pictures of the two of them together. I have been going there since December 2021. I love the people at Puppy Playground. They genuinely seem to care about the dogs and like working there. My pups LOVE it so much that I can no longer say the words «daycare» or «playground» around them, less they get super excited and run to the door, thinking that we are going. My pups jump out of the car and run in, and are wiped out at the end of each day. It is a win-win for everyone.

My dogs have been going here for a couple months and love it! The staff are very kind, friendly and you can tell they’re passionate about pet care. Initially I was unsure about bringing one dog there because he can be very nervous and timid, but the staff ensured he had a safe and fun introduction to help him build confidence in socializing. I’m so thankful the trainer saw his potential because now he seems more comfortable and polite when interacting with both people and other dogs. I love that they offer fun interactive activities throughout the month and added webcam access as this is a feature I enjoyed from our previous doggy daycare center!

Always together having fun at Puppy Playground. They love the staff, their friends and all the fun themed days. We love that they get to play inside and outside and know they will be well taken care of when we leave them for the day or the week. Puppy Playground is the best.

We love PetSuites NW! Luna has been going since she was about 11 months old and will be turning 4 this year. The staff are all so welcoming, friendly, and have great communication overall. You can tell they’re attentive in what they do, which shows how much they care. Highly recommend! 🐾❤️

Let me start by saying that I am a new pet mom! I’ve never had a fur baby. I got Temperance my kitten 6 months ago when she was just 8 weeks old. I never thought she would become my little baby instantly! So when I had to leave her(5 days) to go to a wedding that my husband was in I was scared, upset and just didn’t want to leave her. From the start of meeting the associates at Pet suites I felt comfortable. They assured me she would be well taken care of and she was! They answered all of my text and even sent pictures. They loved on her as I would. She’s very shy and they made her feel calm and secure! I would a thousand times use them again! Thank you Pet Suites ☺️ 🥰❤️

I took my Huskey here for a bath. We all know how Huskies are about bath time :/ but they seemed to have made it as painless as possible. She looks and smells beautiful!

This service has been exceptionally beneficial for my father. His puppy, Odin, receives an abundance of affection and meticulous care. Odin, an Old English Mastiff, is indeed a remarkably affectionate companion. The staff consistently provides him with ample attention and pampering. My father has consistently expressed his profound satisfaction with this particular location.

Staff are warm and friendly. I especially appreciate their interaction with my pet upon entering the facility. My pet clearly has good memories of this location as she is eager to enter and quickly approaches staff for a greeting and scratch. And, she willing goes with staff for boarding or day play.

PetSuites has been amazing! The staff is caring, the facility is always clean, and my dog comes home happy every time. Special shoutout to Meesha in grooming. She does an incredible job and my pupper always looks fantastic after seeing her. Highly recommend!

I boarded my cat for 4 nights and provided plenty of food and treats for her. I labeled everything because the intake form can be confusing. When I picked her up and looked at her left over food I realized that they had been under feeding my cat her wet food and didn’t give her any of her liquid treats even though I mentioned it on the form and it’s labeled in the package. Both of the ladies I interacted with really seemed like they did not want to be talking to me. I never received updates on how she was doing during the stay. This establishment seems like a good place for dogs but definitely do not bring your cats here. I hired someone in rover to watch my other pet and she went above and beyond and it was SOO much cheaper. I will not be using PetSuites again.

Pet Palace went above and beyond for my dog Leif. When I first arrived, I quickly realized I had booked for the wrong weekend. This was a huge concern as I was visiting from out of town. The staff quickly found room for my dog and reassured me it was no problem. I cannot tell you the amount of gratitude I had at this moment. To know my dog would have a safe place to stay for two nights while I was away from home was exactly what I needed. Each staff member loved my dog like he was their own. They even played with him in the snow (his favorite thing to do as he is a Newfoundland). They gave him treats and extra pets. The kennel he stayed in was their largest. It had a camera so I could see him anytime I wanted. This was also reassuring. I enjoyed being able to check on him while also knowing he was in good hands. The pick up and drop off was a breeze. The staff reassured me that no news is good news, and quickly calmed any anxiety I had about leaving my boy at a kennel out of state for the first time. The prices were very reasonable as well. I highly recommend Pet Palace, and if I am ever in need of boarding my dog again while in Indiana, I will definitely use them. Thank you to each staff member who made me feel comfortable leaving my boy Leif, and for taking exceptional care of him.

I really love taking my dog to Pet Palace to see Emily. We go out of our way to take him to Emily and her service is above and beyond. Gary always looks very handsome and happy when I pick him up!

I recently used this grooming service for my 5 yr old dog Knoxx and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. The environment was clean, calm, and well-organized, which immediately made me feel confident that I was in good hands. The grooming itself was excellent! The attention to detail was evident in every step. My pet came out looking fresh, neat, and incredibly well cared for. I especially appreciated the gentle handling and the way the groomer took the time to understand my pet’s needs and comfort level as I explained Knoxx gets very anxious and does not like being groomed. Communication was clear, pricing was fair, and the results were outstanding. I highly recommend this grooming service to anyone looking for skilled care, great customer service, and a reliable, stress-free experience. I’ll definitely be returning!

It’s a long drive for me, but they’ve always done a good job with my dog Zeus. As you can see from the pics after a recent grooming session – happy and pretty. 🐶 Staff are nice. Nice facility. Big area for the dogs to go potty outside before going in and when leaving. They also have a waste station with disposable bags you can use as well to pickup up after your dog. Which you should! Be responsible. Keep things clean for others. I recommend them.

Emily is absolutely amazing with my white malteese. I have taken him many places and have never been completely satisfied until he was groomed by Emily. Thank you for loving my little white dog and making him shine like the diamond he is! You are the best Emily.

I had a fantastic experience boarding my pupper here. The staff were so kind and attentive. It gave me great peace of mind knowing my fur baby was genuinely cared for. Couldn’t recommend them more, the team are absolutely wonderful!

My dogs LOVE this place. My pups feel comfortable around their staff. I’ve had several of my pets kennel here over the last 6 years and my youngest 2 pups started here about 4 and 2 years ago. I trust this team because my pups trust this team. I’ve kenneled with them for longer stays and shorter stays and some very graciously on short notice (still gracious). My boys are loved at Five Points Kennels. Photos actually taken and sent to me by Five Points Kennels.

Excellent kennel. Have used them twice now. Large and very clean facility. Staff is very helpful. Both times we boarded one of our dogs. They allowed me to extend to extend one of my reservations due to a death in the family. We got the puppy package which includes six walk/play times per day, which is great as she is an extremely active puppy. A+ Will definitely use them again in the future.

First time I had my little guy Freddy stay in a kennel and they were so friendly and helpful. Freddy loved his stay! 10 stars if possible and definitely recommend.

This is the second time I’m boarding my dogs here, and I don’t think I’ll ever go anywhere else. I feel so safe leaving my babies here while I’m gone. I’m allowed to call and check up on them, the staff will take pictures and text them to me (see attached), and you can tell everyone who works here is an absolute animal lover. I dropped them off this time, and a couple of the staff remember my dog and had a memory to share from their first visit. Will definitely, definitely be returning. 🩷

Made reservation a while back and nothing was said about vaccinations due 14 days prior. They waited until exactly 14 days prior to call to let us know. Dogs only needed Bordatella updated and was planning to take them this week which would have been 10 days prior. Basically, told me tough luck and cancelled my reservation. Boarded my dogs several other places and not been an issue. Decided to try this place based upon friend’s recommendation. Called PetSuites and got them in no problem and was actually cheaper with a special weekend offer.

Staff are always nice and attentive. The place seems very well ran and organized. Also seems really safe for animals. My only suggestion to get to the 5 stars is to have a camera or monitor to see and / or talk to the dog while they are in the kennel. I have seen a few places with that technology and I think it is cool. I have also seen a few places where you can dispense a treat to them wirelessly. It would be a nice add-on, but I know it is not necessary for everyone, so maybe try it out in a few stalls first. Once she gets accepted into the playschool for free play, I will give an update as well. I want to reiterate that you can really feel how much the staff cares about the dogs here and how well kept the place is. Despite all of that, I do feel like Lulu was a little mad I took her there for the day. You be the judge if you think I am right about lulus thoughts in the picture give a thumbs up on this post.

Best kennel!! The staff is amazing- friendly, attentive, patient, informative etc. Our dog is never scared to go there. Prices are as expected for the service provided.

I have not been to Lucky Dog in awhile since we moved further away. I brought in my senior dog for grooming and we had a very attentive and accommodating experience. She looks great!

My doodle dog has been coming to Lucky Dog once a week for 3 years. He comes home tired and happy. The staff have gotten to know me and my dog and understand his quirky personality. My dog looks forward to going to daycare, and I know he’s well cared for.

Lucky Dog has been organjzed and helpful to us over a few years. Most importantly, our cattle dog seems to enjoy (or at least not dread 😬) her stays as she has elsewhere. High marks.

Our Teddy Lasso has been going to Lucky Dog Retreat daycare every Wednesday since he was 6 months old (nearly 5 years ago). We board him here when we go out of town, too. The staff is welcoming and wonderful — we’ve never had a problem. Teddy always gets excited when we remind him it’s a «Lucky Dog Day!» We’ve had luck with grooming too. They do a great job. Thanks, Lucky Dog staff, for taking such good care of our little guy!

Even though I had my boarding reservation for months prior to the boarding with an exit bath booked. I was informed when I picked Sophie up that she did not receive a bath and I asked when and she believed they were short staffed and while she said she could give her a quick bath while I waited that was not acceptable. If they knew they had time the morning of pick up a quick call for me to pick up an hour later would have been appreciated rather than no bath at all. Felt they were disorganized at pick up as well. Running back and forth between rooms to gather Sophie’s items (a bone, remaining food, and her tote bag)

the grooming time for our dog seems to take twice as long as the previous location. not sure what the issue is here. Thank you for your reply. We had issues with your grooming rooms being too humid as the facility needs to be ventilated, hence the strong urine smell when you walk into the facility.

I bring my dog to LD for grooming and an occasional play date. He always looks nice after they’re through. As for the play dates, he’s an only ‘child’ so we think that’s good for him to go hang out with other dogs every once and awhile. Nice place. Clean and well run, good people who seem to genuinely like dogs
