When two other shoes repairs businesses told me they could not replace the heels on my beloved Dansko ankle boots I’ve had for more than 10 years (because, they said, the sole and heel are one piece), Ron found a way to do it, and they are perfect! I could not be happier with the outcome. Ron is a master at what he does, and the quality of his work is outstanding. It was well worth the 140 mile round-trip journey to take my boots to Ron’s. Thank you!

A rivet snapped on my new Birkenstock clogs. Ron’s fixed it with the same color branded rivet in less than 5 minutes. Unheard of service and price – highly recommended!
Update: Ron’s added a new footbed and sole to my Birkenstock Bostons and of course they came out perfectly. See Image 2.

Received excellent and compassionate service from Ron and Co (animals included). I had a time-sensitive repair that they took on immediately and finished beautifully. Now I won’t have to replace a very expensive pair of sandals because Ron and Co repaired and finished them beautifully and in good time.
The shop has a pair of gorgeous, adorable, attention-loving pups, which is always a thumbs up in my book.
I’m glad I trusted Ron and Co with the repair and they provided me with top notch customer care. Highly recommended.

Been coming to Ron’s for years for all shoe repairs. I just took my daughter’s Ugg boots that are out of style and had them cut off. $55 and they look great! They were shin height!

Took in leather boots for full sole replacement. Price was fair and transparent, was told the price with taxes included before I took the boots in. Stitching was excellent and everything looks trim and flush. Highly recommended

Friendly service, one week turnaround, and great work on both pairs of shoes I dropped off.
Re-soled and rebuilt the cork on an old pair of birks. Added a rubber sole and cleaned up a pair of loafers. I’m incredibly pleased and will be back!
(Seven months later) returned to have another pair of shoes repaired and re-soled. I will never go anywhere else. Great service, great results!

Customer Reviews
These boots were worn for 2 years straight, withstanding the Arizona desert heat and sand. I’ve put tons of miles on them and worked them day and night. The leather was dried out and I had holes in both boots at the seams. I’ve built a bond with these boots and I was upset with the idea of buying of new pair and trashing these, however I came across Hakky and thought I’d give them a shot.
I couldn’t be happier with the results. I walked in and the owner was upfront and straightforward. He was no salesmen, just an honest worker who enjoys his craft. I showed him my boots and he explained to me the fixes and process, and gave me the price. Which was less than half of what I bought these boots for. He had them finished in no time, and I’ve never been more impressed with the results. They literally feel and look brand new. I plan on bringing these boots back in years to come to get them repaired. 5 stars all around, price, quality, speed, commitment, and love for the craft!
After I got them repaired, my father saw me wearing them. And asked me why I went and bought a new pair of boots. And he was shocked when I told him that they were the same pair that I had worn before. That should say something.

I’m a little sad to review with only a star. The shop was highly recommended for Birkenstock repair. I dropped two pairs for what I assumed was full bottom replacement- footbed, cork, and rubber bottom. It is my fault for not double checking that. I paid ahead of time- and the cost was similar to what I’d paid at another shop for full bottom replacement.
My pair- only the rubber was replaced. As my cork was only slightly worn I was only slightly startled. My daughter’s pair, however, were in rough shape. Rubber worn- cork missing- footbed cracked and raised. I was shocked that hers came back with footbed still cracked- and the cork filled with some kind of resin- only rubber replaced. Unfortunately- due to the resin- the Birks are now unwearable- the cork is now hard- and the crack and lump in footbed have no give. (The cork molds to the foot- this will not).
I emailed- and got a response that he didn’t understand my text (I was upset when I emailed) and to call the next day at noon. I called at noon- no answer. I emailed again. No answer.
Today we drove to Bloomington and had another shop look at them. That shop was SHOCKED at the shoes- agreed unwearable in current state. They could not believe what I’d paid for only the bottom to be replaced- and befuddled by resin added to the cork.
My fault- I should have clarified what the service would be- but I also didn’t expect to leave with shoes that cannot be worn. The photos are AFTER THEY WERE “fixed”.

I have a pair of boots that were over 40 years old. I haven’t worn them in 20 but I had some great memories when I used to wear them. I took them in. They had it done in three hours. I love these boots, now I can wear them again.

Spoke with Nick about adding some height to a sandal – ref having a leg length discrepancy. He is very confident in his ability to deliver a great product. Dropped sandal off and it was done a day and a half later. The sandal is PERFECT, looks great, and I stand evenly which feels great. I am very pleased with his customer service and craftsmanship.
Thanks again

Oldest shoe store in the US. They have some old school pulley system from the depression era that’s the only one left and functional in the country. Great experience and great service, Tyrone was our salesperson.

Very friendly. I called ahead to ensure that they had shoes in a size 17 for my son for prom. The gentleman that answered was very helpful. When I got to the store he was very welcoming and told the lady exactly what I was looking for and suggested what shoe brand I needed. The Lady was also very friendly. I even bought a pair of shoes for myself. I was raised wearing shoes from Stout’s shoes and so was my mother. Glad I thought to call. I don’t remember any names.

Staff is always super helpful and knowledgeable about their products. Husband needed new shoes, while they could have ordered what he wanted they also have him options for him to try on in store that were comparable to what he wanted and ended up with a new shoe for him that met his needs! Wonderful experience, the sales rep who helped us Cara, was super knowledgeable of the fit of different brands of shoes and what brands and styles would best fit what we were looking for. The attention and care we were given was better than any shoe store I’ve ever been to before and the prices were comparable to buying from other stores or online. The overall selection of the store was good and I definitely plan to return in the future for any shoe needs I may have.

If this 5 star review, and the many others you see here, are not enough to convince you this place is awesome – nothing will!
We started at the Brownsburg location looking for dress shoes for my son going to prom. He found a shoe he liked but they didn’t have his size (12) so they said they would check the downtown location. They did have it downtown so off we went.
We were nicely greeted and were told someone would be right with us. We indicated a call from Brownsburg was made and they immediately knew what we were there for. Unfortunately, the shoe was not a good fit for him (narrow feet).
For the next hour, the store manager – Stephanie – made herself my son’s personal shoe specialist. She was amazing. She was insightful and extremely knowledgeable. She gave suggestions. Most of all, she was patient. My son is quiet and can do the typical teenage – “uh, I don’t know” answer to any question and she managed him beautifully! ❤️
I can’t thank this place enough!
If you need shoes for business, prom, running, hiking, casual, or anything – this should be your first stop!

I’m always looking for authentic leather supply shops and this one was the best! It’s in an old building with plenty of character! The proprietor was very knowledgeable and didn’t try to up-sell anything. He answered my questions and was very helpful. The shop had a good selection of hardware, a selection of tools and leather, and an amazing selection of shoe making supplies! He ships too!

One of my favorite staples in the city. Almost feels a little bit like a time capsule. Eric is a stand up man, very knowledgeable & makes a large amount of leather goods in the store himself in house.
So whether you’re just stopping in to check it out of curiosity, for leathers goods (boot accessories, wallets, belts, etc), interested in starting a leathercraft hobby, or are a leather expert enthusiasts you’ll have a great time.
He makes the best belts in the city in my opinion & will even fit you for one on the spot. He’s even punched a new hole or two for me when i’ve returned and my weight changed 10/5 stars if I could.

Very good selection and good price. Customer service is also great. Make sure you use the parking lot behind the store, to the left of the building, down a drive to park. If you tell the person running the parking lot that you’re going into the Landwerlen store, then you can park for FREE!!
This is one of my husband’s favorite stores! He always tries to stop by any time he’s in the area, and he always comes out with a cool find, like today, he got bright orange (maybe hunter’s orange) leather lol! We actually got pictures today! Yay us!!
***I will attach some pictures of what HE MAKES, not what he buys, from this leather…mayhaps you will want one or two…(hint: they go faaasssttt, so I wouldn’t put off checking them out!!***
Did I mention that he makes them by hand? Everything by hand! Sews, cuts, glues, adds snaps, EVERYthing!!

I was in town for work and was lucky enough to be staying right around the corner from the store. They are great here. Awesome prices, like really awesome prices. The owner was great. I’m a beginner and he was super helpful, he’s a 3rd generation leather crafter and it’s good to be able to patronize a small family owned business. I only bought leather supplies there but I saw some of his shoe repair work and it was very impressive. Bottom line, you won’t be disappointed. Guarantee it. I live 6 hours away and I literally would make a special trip there if I needed enough stuff.

I noticed meticulous attention to detail in cleaning, resoling, and polishing, and the shop maintains clean, organized workspaces that inspire confidence. Their turnaround is reasonable, and the communication is steady, making the experience feel personal and professional from start to finish.

Had them repair 2 shoes and clean the same 2 plus 2 others. The leather ones I didn’t think could really be fixed so when they didn’t make any improvements on it, it wasn’t a big deal. The color of the leather completely changed with the cleaning. Actually looked pretty good. The other repair was done fairly pathetic. The back heel fabric needed resewed back to the back of the shoe. Completely visieand only done on one side. Cleaning was good on it. After these I figured I would only come here for cleaning.
The next two shoes were white under armour shoes. Mine was done fine although $35 to clean some teens shoes seemed a bit expensive. The white tennis shoes which were only about a month old came back competely yellow. I thought maybe it was the store’s light. It wasn’t. Should have been an easy cleaning. Won’t be coming back.

Great experience and great service. I Can’t remember the name, but she was very helpful and knowledgeable. Even noticed an issue with my step and had a solution with a thing called a leveler. I’m already noticing a difference. They only carried two brands, but they were of high quality. I’m considering grabbing another pair before I head back to kc.

I am so grateful that I found Cento Shoes! My experience, from my initial email contact, visiting the shop to drop off the shoes that needed to be repaired, and returning today to pick them up, was fantastic. The business is owned and operated by a family, and that’s how they treated me. My shoes are as good as new! I can’t recommend this business highly enough.

I am so grateful to Cento Shoes!!! They went above and beyond with their level of craftsmanship and customer service that I didn’t think existed anymore! I brought in a pair of Dansko Mary Jane platforms that had been worn to death for almost 10 years. They re-soled them, patched and re-stapled the straps and brought them back to their original shiny, red color! It was a revelation! Since I was lost and flustered they were very patient with me staying open several minutes to hand me my shoes on the street!! Thank you!!!❤️

I took my vintage boots in to be repaired and am completely in awe of the job Cento did. Stunning! I don’t have a photo of my boots before but suffice to say they were on their last leg—cracked sole, tons of scuffs, 30 years of wear. The boots look awesome and are ready for another 20 years of use!
Jennifer was helpful and kind, service was fast and communicative.
I would highly recommend the business for people who are able to/interested in investing in repairing their shoes instead of throwing them away, and who value quality craftsmanship.

What a pleasant experience!
Wonderfully kind, patient, and driven to serve whatever you need.
The insoles of my AEs had crimped on me the day before and they were the only dress boots I had for the next two days.
I was able to get the right replacement for my insoles and they even serviced the boots for a different issue without any charge!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! The Centos are great people and do a tremendous job. I recently lost weight and need to have some high end custom belts shortened. It was completely seamless and the belts are even better thank when I originally bought them.

Centos did an absolute amazing job on my purse! I bought this coach bag last year and I love it, but it only had two small straps (to wear it on your arm) and a really long strap (to wear it as a cross body). I desperately wanted it to be a shoulder bag.
So, I took it to Centos and they crafted me longer straps! The quality of the leather is amazing and they color matched it to the rest of my bag so well! Even the stitching is an exact color! Thanks so much Centos to making my perfect bag for the fall/winter!!!

I’m beyond disappointed with the customer service and the quality of the repair. A poor attempt was made to match the leather. This repair work is laughable and I’m shocked that the cobbler was ok with adding such an off color to the bag without consulting the customer. The bag is pretty much worthless. I can’t sell it and do not desire to carry the bag. The worst part is the failure to accommodate a dissatisfied customer. The owner (she) told me they could possibly dye the leather but I would be charged because it was an extensive process. Really? There was no offer for partial refund which I didn’t want, I wanted the bag repaired properly. You’re that money hungry that you would charge me more money to right your wrong. Have you ever considered customer retention and the fact as a satisfied customer you would have more business from me? This was my first time having a repair here and I would never go back or recommend them to anyone. The customer service is not good at all. One of the owners, the lady, said to me “You asked us to replace the piping and that’s what we did” Is this the response to give a customer who’s sorely disappointed with the type, color and quality of leather used for the repair. I paid $120 for this repair and will have to pay another $120 or more to right this wrong. I don’t ever write negative reviews even when I’ve had a bad experience but the customer service was awful and I can’t overlook how I was treated

I can’t say enough positive things about Gino and his work. He is a true craftsman. I own an old pair of Ferragamo loafers. They’re like a security blanket — they fit like a glove, have sentimental value, and used to look great. Unfortunately, I’ve worn them so many times over the years (after several resoles), that I thought they could no longer be salvaged. I contemplated throwing them away, but Gino encouraged me to bring the shoes in. Wow! They look brand new again. Thank you, Gino, for your hard work and expertise. Jon

Gino’s saved two of my most beloved wedges! I was distraught when I broke my favorite pair at my friends wedding and refused to throw them away bc i couldn’t find any like them anywhere else. I had just heard of Gino’s && let me tell you I was skipping out of the shop to have my favorites back!! Great job & super convenient! Thank you Gino!!!

I own a pair of handmade custom work boots. I’ve had lots of foot problems and these boots were life changing for me. I recently needed the first repairs to be made on them and I chose Gino’s. I am so thankful for Gino! He is a consummate professional, VERY personable and easy to talk to, and in my opinion he is cut from the cloth of the classic cobbler. Gino told me my boots would be ready in one week and they were! Not only that but I had expected to pay about 50% more than what I did. I got tired of buying cheap goods repeatedly every year or two so I saved up my money and spent $700 on these work boots. I also own a pair of calfskin brogues from England and I can’t wait to wear the soles down so I can bring them to Gino!

Case assessment and initial consultations
The services provided by civil attorneys in Indianapolis begin with thorough case assessment and initial consultations to identify applicable statutes, rules, and potential causes of action. These assessments examine the facts, collect relevant documentation, and determine the timelines and statutory requirements that shape the strategic options. By outlining possible paths, including negotiation, settlement, or litigation, these consultations help clients understand the likely outcomes, the costs, and the resources needed to move forward with confidence.
Contract drafting and risk analysis
In matters involving agreements, civil attorneys provide contract drafting and risk analysis to ensure terms are precise, enforceable, and aligned with local and state law. The process encompasses reviewing or composing contracts, clauses on liability and indemnity, dispute resolution provisions, and unenforceable language risks. Attention to due diligence, accurate definitions, and clear remedies helps prevent ambiguities that may lead to disputes, while negotiation support aims to balance interests and protect clients from hidden liabilities.
Dispute resolution, mediation, and arbitration
Civil attorneys facilitate dispute resolution through mediation and arbitration as alternatives to courtroom litigation. The practice emphasizes alternative dispute resolution strategies, crafting settlement demands and negotiating terms that preserve relationships when possible. Attorneys also prepare clients for mediation sessions, gather supporting evidence, and, if needed, structure arbitration agreements that ensure fair proceedings while preserving confidentiality and efficiency.
Personal injury and tort claims
Within personal injury and tort claims work, civil attorneys evaluate whether negligence or wrongful acts caused harm. They review medical records, document causation, and assess damages such as medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. By coordinating with experts and handling negotiations with insurers, they aim to secure appropriate compensation for clients and to pursue litigation when settlements cannot be reached.
Real estate and property disputes
Real estate matters often involve title issues, boundary questions, and lease disputes. Civil attorneys in Indianapolis assist with due diligence, contract interpretation, and the management of risk in property transactions. They represent clients in civil actions related to ownership, use rights, encumbrances, and disputes arising from transactions, helping to achieve clear resolutions or enforceable remedies through negotiation or court action.
Employment law matters
Employment law covers disputes between employees and employers, including wage and hour claims, discrimination, and wrongful termination. Attorneys provide guidance on rights and remedies, help negotiate severance or settlement agreements, and represent clients in negotiations, arbitrations, or litigation to enforce protections under federal, state, and local laws. They also address compliance with workplace policies and safety regulations that affect both sides of the employment relationship.
Civil litigation and trial representation
Civil litigation services encompass comprehensive case management, motion practice, discovery, and trial representation. In Indianapolis, attorneys coordinate complex dockets, organize evidence, and develop persuasive arguments for judges and juries. They handle pre-trial hearings, summary judgment motions, and post-trial procedures, including appeals when warranted, to pursue the most effective resolution for their clients.
Administrative law, regulatory compliance, and appeals
Administrative law involves advising clients on regulatory compliance, agency procedures, and interactions with government bodies. Civil attorneys assist with agency investigations, licensing issues, and the preparation of filings for appeals of agency decisions. They interpret applicable regulations and advocate for remedial actions, ensuring that clients navigate the regulatory landscape efficiently while protecting their rights.
Frequently asked questions about shoe repair in Indianapolis
What types of repairs are commonly offered at shoe repair shops in Indianapolis?
In Indianapolis, common repairs include heel replacements, sole replacements or patches, welt stitching, repair of zippers or buckles, patching leather soles, heel caps, color restoration for leather footwear, and waterproofing and conditioning for leather and fabric. Some shops also provide orthotics adjustments or padding replacement for comfort.
How long does a typical shoe repair take in Indianapolis?
Most simple repairs can be completed within a few hours if the shop has parts on hand, and many stores offer same-day service for routine tasks. More extensive work, such as full re-soling or complex leather restoration, typically requires 24 to 72 hours depending on demand and material availability.
What should I expect to pay for common repairs?
Prices for common repairs vary by material and complexity. Typical ranges include minor repairs (heel caps, stitching) around $15 to $50, resoling or sole patches around $40 to $120, and full re-soling with finishing often in the $100 to $200 range. A free or low-cost estimate is common in many shops.
Are there eco-friendly options for shoe repair in Indianapolis?
Yes, many shops emphasize sustainable practices such as using durable materials, eco-friendly adhesives, and offering repair rather than disposal to extend the life of footwear. Some stores may use recycled components or repurpose damaged leather into new products where feasible.
Can any shoe be repaired, or are there limits?
Most leather and synthetic footwear can be repaired, but limits exist. Severe structural damage, extremely cracked or rotted materials, or unattainable replacement parts may prevent a repair. A professional inspection will help determine feasibility and expected results.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Policy varies by shop. Some shops accept walk-ins for quick tasks, while others operate by appointment or scheduled drop-off windows for more involved repairs. Calling ahead often helps secure a convenient time.
How can I extend the life of shoes between repairs?
Effective care includes cleaning, conditioning for leather, and applying waterproofing treatments. Use shoe trees to maintain shape, rotate footwear, and store in a cool, dry place to reduce moisture damage and wear.
What should I bring to get an accurate estimate?
When seeking an estimate, bring or describe shoe type (dress, work boot, sneaker), materials, and a clear description of the problem. If possible, include photos of the issue, the brand, and any relevant purchase information. This helps the technician assess scope and costs more accurately.
How is the repair method chosen?
Repair technicians perform a thorough inspection to determine the best approach, considering material type, intended use, and durability requirements. They may discuss options such as adhesive bonding, stitching, re-soling, or padding replacement to meet your needs.
Are there warranties or guarantees on shoe repairs?
Many shops provide a warranty or guarantee on workmanship for a defined period, though coverage can vary by repair type and materials. Always ask for the terms and any limitations, such as wear, tear, or damage from improper use.
