Landmark's Glendale 12 Theatre
Landmark's Glendale 12 Theatre delivers solid neighborhood cinema with dependable showtimes and a welcoming staff. The seats are comfortable enough for longer runs, the sound is crisp, and the concessions stay fresh and reasonably priced. I appreciate the clean facilities and the absence of pretentious fuss. Overall, the experience feels focused on practicality, with friendly service, reliable screenings, and value that makes it worth returning.
Parking is usually easy, and the neighborhood vibe adds to a relaxed movie-night rhythm without the crowds you find at newer megaplexes. Maintenance needs in the women's bathroom. Mystery dirt on bathroom stall walls (poop?) Staff are nice and helpful. We're too fat for the seats. They're on the small side, but the armrests go up, so as long as it's not busy (and we were a third of those in attendence) no problem. Someone needs to vacuum the popcorn out of them (theater 6). Hard to feel safe buying popcorn or drinks when you can tell cleaning is neglected.
3 screens This theatre opened July 26, 1967, across the parking lot of the Glendale Shopping Center Mall. The theatre, as most General Cinema theatres were not designed to win awards for decor. Pretty plain. Circa 1970, the Glendale 3 & 4 opened across the street on North Keystone. The largest screen was eventually divided into tunnel vision theatres (long and narrow). Today Kerasotes Theatres has a megaplex at the Glendale Mall location. Mike Waters: I really wanna kiss you, man... Well goodnight, man... I love you though... You know that... I do love you.
My partner and I have visited this theatre about once a month since we moved to the neighborhood in 2017. The staff are always fantastic, the concessions are fresh and tasty, the audio/visual quality of the movies is good. We often go on weekday evenings and it is rarely busy; on many occasions we have had the theatre to ourselves. The seating is dated and faded but still perfectly comfortable, and ticket prices are consistently a bit less than other (updated/upgraded/luxury) theatres in the area.
The staff is always super friendly. We go, I'd say, biweekly. Never a negative experience. A lot of reviews saying the seats are "dirty" are used to the new leather seats at newly renovated theaters. Which is fine! Don't let it deter you l.
Third visit here, nice clean theater and plenty of fresh popcorn with cold soda, assorted snacks and treats. This is an older theater missing here is recliners and mixed drinks. Though the Theater is in need of a few upgrades, nothing here appears neglected or worn out. We came to see Oppenheimer on our first visit, great flick. Younger people should likely do a little history research before watching. Otherwise parts of the movie will not be understood! Older folks such as myself were taught ww2 history in school. Good Movie it’s a bit slow at first but worth the wait. This film will sure win Oscars. Today Saturday 8/5, we came for "Talk to me". This is a creepy little tale, sure to catch you off guard more than once. Younger viewers will find it terrifying I’m sure. 9/8 back for Equalizer 3 with Denzel Washington, this is the best one yet! This movie is fast and exciting. Has everything you want in an action thriller. Denzel plays his role masterfully.. What a great flick, very bloody and entertaining. Overall this isn’t a bad theater, but better seats would certainly be welcome.
Wow, the seats don’t recline and a bucket of popcorn and 2 sodas is $24! With so many great theaters in Indy, I won’t be coming back here.
This theater is very welcoming. I attend the opera and like the attentiveness of the manager. He announces intermission time and makes sure audiences know when reprise performances are scheduled.
