Awesome in 1 word. The instructors at the Truck training Yard were spot on in training me in creating space, watching for points in maneuvering. controlling your trailer, and the seriousness of safety on the road. Great group of individuals, each instructor has a different way of teaching, pay attention, know what you come for, and lastly, you just have to listen.

Almost impossible to schedule lessons.

I am glad I finally received some response from them after posting a public review.

When I first reached out to know about the classes, they would respond immediately to emails and messages with information. And once the payment (that had to made upfront for all lessons) was made, I had to literally write multiple times to arrange lessons. I got fed up of finding time for doing this on top of my normal work schedule, I ended up not bothering to finish the package I signed up for.

Not giving a one star, as the classes with Rachel were okay.

I purchased the $374 bundle that included the 30 hour online course and the 6 hours of behind the wheel training. I bought the bundle in December and didn’t get to do behind the wheel training until February 27th, no worries though. All of my behind the wheel trainings were booked with Rachel except one, Rachel was very nice and informative. I had one session with Destiny. Destiny was very rude! She scolded me when I made mistakes instead of trying to constructively explain what I did wrong. She was overall just rude. My overall experience was good, I didn’t have to take the road test at the bmv, I was able to take it with Rachel which made me feel better!

Edited review.

I had initially left a one star review because it seemed like they were going to just take the money and never schedule a driving date.

The same day I posted the review, they got the driving date scheduled. This is probably not a coincidence, and it is a shame that consumers have to post a negative review in order to simply get the service they paid for.

Now that driving training has started, I can rate the training service itself as good. The trainer not only focuses on what is needed for the test, but also general good safety practices.

Loved everything about this company. From the easily accessible 30 hour online driver’s education course to the clean, navigational website, and even the good prices. Simple rules and easy to understand. With the 6 one hour drives, I was struggling very much at first but the Mr. James Dix assisted with me improving my skills. I completed my final one hour drive today and he gave very good constructive criticism. Not only does he help greatly with driving, but he also gives amazing life lessons and advice that I believe everyone should be able to experience. I’m eligible to receive my license soon and it’s all thanks to this company. And a thank you to Mr. Dix again. 5/5 stars. Would recommend.

This place was recommended by our school website for driving. It stated “estimated wait time” of 8 weeks to wait for a driving instructor. At the 8 week date, 4 more weeks was added to the estimated wait. Upon calling, they couldn’t even guarantee that it would happen within those 4 weeks. We asked for a refund, however they KEPT an “administrative fee” of 50 dollars and did not give a full refund. If they have too many students in order to meet the estimated time, they need to put a restriction on how many can sign up. They are simply taking money from people at this point. *****WOULD NOT RECOMEND*****

I have had two daughters recently complete their driving instruction with Mr. Lovejoy. He was very easy going and patient with both girls. They both had good experiences with him. Only potential thing to know is drop off/pick up is at the Compass Center instead of the high school.

My children attend school in Perry Township and I know some schools have longer waits, but from the time we entered permit information on website to when they got their instructor assignments it was approximately 4 weeks. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend Mr. Lovejoy as an instructor if your kids go to Southport/Perry.

Last week a student decided to make a left turn at the last minute and jumped into front of me with no turn signal. I had to slam on my breaks. I politely reported the incident via there website so they could just remind the student to look and use their signal and safely make a decision to turn. If I was on my motorcycle I would have wrecked. Instead of responding with a, “we’ll remind the student” or something of that nature, they decided to go back and forth with me in an email saying they didn’t see the incident on their cameras. Why would I waste my time to even send you the details to make this up. They pretty much refused to offer the suggestions to the student and that’s disturbing.

I’m a major supporter of driver’s ed programs, but I’d have pause allowing anyone I know to attend driver’s ed through this school. This morning, I very nearly rear-ended one of their cars because the instructor decided the smartest and most reasonable place to teach parallel parking was around a blind corner at a major intersection with maybe 10 seconds of reaction time once you clear the corner. The instructor could’ve easily had the student drive 500 feet up the road to a better area and chose not to.

We wonder why there are so many wrecks. After nearly being in one thanks to the poor decision of a driver’s ed instructor of all people, now I can completely understand why.

I’m in the waiting room, waiting for my instructor, when I hear moaning coming from the bathroom down the hall. The instructor is taking the biggest dump of his life, and he’s so loud I can hear him all the way from the waiting room.

He walks out of the bathroom grunting and breathing heavily with every step. He also smells bad too.

“Sorry about that delay.”
“Where’s my key?” (I don’t know why he would ask me that).
“Don’t know where my key is.”

I found the key for him. The last driver left it in the car, and the car was still running.

I’m waiting for him to get to the car, I wait for at least 15 minutes.

It’s not over though! I was on my phone waiting for him to get in the car, because what else am I supposed to do? He tries to get in the car, but the door is locked. I unlock the door, and he yells:

“Get off your phone! Couldn’t you see I was trying to get in the car?”

It’s not my fault the last driver locked all the doors, and why is he yelling just because the door was locked? It doesn’t stop there; he kept yelling at me in the car. I tried slowing for a very narrow turn, and he yelled:

“No, drive faster!”

He was yelling at me to avoid potholes that were unavoidable (I would’ve had to swerve into oncoming traffic). He was just in a bad mood; he has a bad temper too. What a terrible experience. Instead of being an instructor who is supposed to teach you, he just yells at you. And he had the nerve to ask me, “Why do you never talk to me on our drives?”

This happened two years ago, and I still think about it sometimes. The lady instructor was way nicer than that 300-pound old man-child.

My girlfriend is taking driving lessons here and after each drive she calls me, hysterical and in tears. It’s about her instructor, Dennis Loveless – “loveless” indeed! He is a very, very mean man. He yells at her for even the smallest mistakes. One time she missed a turn, very minor mistake, and let me tell you, Dennis absolutely lost his mind. Yelled and screamed about how stupid she was and her lack of intelligence – and let me tell you, she has no problem with intelligence, believe me. Do not waste your time or money here folks. Very very big problems. Sad!

Mr. Lovelace did a great job as an instructor! Our family has had a few students here.
However, customer service is key for a business to remain in business (thank God for online reviews these days). Horrible communication. Takes WEEKS to get a response…including to sign up for the classes! And good luck getting questions answered once you finally do sign up. If school stays too busy to return calls that should also mean it’s profitable. Plenty of folks looking for minimum wage jobs…I’d recommend hiring one as an office assistant. Even if part time. Just seems like common sense.

I will start off by saying I am 30yrs old and I have been terrified of driving my entire life. I took driver’s education when I was 16 and had a horrible experience and I never drove again. Well this year I decided to go to a different drivers ed and try it again. Let me start from the beginning. The owner Amy was so kind and I asked her at least one million questions by email. She answered every single question right away and was so sweet. Next I drove with Mr. Dennis L. my very first time and he was so kind. He took his time with me and he told me a story that related to my situation that made me gain confidence. He was so uplifting and one of the most kind people I ever met. The moral of this story is I passed my test and I’m eligible for my license in the 1st. Thank you guys so much for everything. You don’t understand how much you’ve changed my life!!!!
