If I could have selected zero stars I would have. This month we have lost internet on 2, 4, 5, 9, 15, 16, and today 29 December. On some of those dates we had family here and attempted to stream Christmas movies and encountered nothing but error codes from Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and YouTube. All the support calls said the error codes were due to no internet service and I was able to confirm that each time by calling Spectrum to report the issue. The automated customer support system remotely wants to reset the modem, which it was unable to do...well, because the internet was down! So finally, they send a tech here to swap out the modem and while the tech was changing the device he could not get an update into the modem...because the internet was down!!! He tells us there is a problem in the entire neighborhood they have known about but have been VERY slow to address. So, after all this dropped service I called to ask about some sort of refund on our ridiculous $ 90.00 bill JUST FOR INTERNET. We dropped their cable service because it was so bad. The CSR I spoke to said we would get a refund, but later after that call, they send me a text: "Spectrum: Thanks for your patience. You are not eligible for a credit as the outage was brief, power-related or scheduled. We’re here if you have any questions."
i bought 2 mobile lines and wi-fi. my address didn’t have wi-fi and was still sold it knowingly. it will take a month to get it. inexcusable. called in to customer service and they was not able to receive a straight answer for 2 hours and counting
I wrote a review today and writing this one too. I contacted the FB chat i was directed too just to be told that the wi-fi will be available in 28 days (which i was already aware of). It was a waste of my time and there’s an inability to address my issue. Please reference JOB ID 509853 and call me ASAP to resolve the issue. Extremely poor experience with Spectrum already and the customer service has made it worse… 3.5 hours and counting spent today.
Staff is pretty rude here. Internet dropped out constantly. Dropped off my equipment and the woman told me that I could reach out to spectrum to request a pro-rated payment for my bill. Reached out to Spectrum customer service and they told me that’s not true. Billing cycles are weird and I’ll be paying on January 14th for a full month, even though I canceled my service on January 4th. Bad experience overall. Store service. Customer service. Internet quality. Billing. Pricing. All of it.
Unreliable overpriced internet provider who suddenly wants to cut my bill by 60% once I terminate service. Then you have the audacity to bill me $100 for four days of internet service and say yep that’s the way it is. Sorry pal suck it up. Call it what it is bad business practices. I was a longtime loyal customer who got tired of your poor internet service. You can guarantee Spectrum will never regain my business.
Customer service not so good. It was my first time walking in there to drop off equipment and unaware that I had to sign in and reserve my spot, I waited in line and was looked awkwardly by a big stomach Latino guy and a skinny brown guy. I had to ask someone who worked there and explained if there was a line and he was kind enough to tell me what I had to do.... dropped my shit there and came a customer who was talking to himself and all the employees were laughing at him... employees not attentive and fast enough and respectful.
I had an extremely frustrating experience with Spectrum customer support after being charged a $65 transfer or technician fee that was never verbally disclosed during my service move. While representatives insisted the charge was valid because it appeared in a follow-up email, no one explained during the original call that a "transfer fee" meant a technician charge related to a line issue. As a renter, this was outside of my control, and that context was never communicated upfront. What made the experience worse was the chat support itself. Responses were instant, scripted, and clearly automated or AI-assisted. While I understand companies use tools to improve efficiency, the interaction felt impersonal and dismissive rather than helpful. That feeling was reinforced when I sent a clear, thoughtful message explaining my concern and was told, "I appreciate the AI response," as if to undermine the legitimacy of what I was saying. It felt hypocritical and disrespectful, especially given the obvious reliance on automation. Instead of addressing the actual issue, the lack of clear verbal disclosure and billing transparency, support hid behind internal policy, refused to escalate the issue, and ended the conversation without any attempt at resolution. The entire interaction made me feel unheard, talked down to, and treated like a transaction rather than a customer. Transparency and accountability matter. This experience seriously damaged my trust in Spectrum’s customer service.
