LA Fitness

I have never visited an establishment so disgusting before, than this La fitness location. I was forced to go to this location as my previous Avon location permanently closed. First of all, 3 of the showers don't work. The whole gym is disgusting and not looked after at all. There is so much garbage scattered around throughout the gym as seen in the photos attached. The staff really needs to enforce rules on keeping the gym clean because no one should be forced to workout in such conditions.

Unprofessional. Do not really care about their members, even though they charge much more than other fitness clubs. I would especially not recommend anyone purchasing a membership if you live in Indiana. They can close your club, not required to give members notice and refuse to give a refund for yearly membership. Instead they tell you that you have the option to go to another club. I chose the club I had a membership at because it was 5 minutes from my house. Now the nearest club is the one I’m writing the review on based on my experience this morning and depending on traffic and road construction, can be anywhere from 15-30 minutes each way. Had recently purchased new swimming trunks, swim shoes, padded seat for cycling class, and padlock. Not once did anyone say that you couldn’t leave stuff overnight. Right after I purchased those items and put them in my locker, I got a double hernia and couldn’t go to the club until I got off of my restrictions. The manager said that’s why you aren’t supposed to leave things overnight and there was a sign posted saying that. It should have been pointed out during my tour, but it wasn’t. I am at fault for not reading the sign. But you would think that if a club wanted to keep their clients happy, they would not be rude about explaining this to me and make even the slightest gesture of respect and some form of small reimbursement, such as waiving my monthly fee for two months to make up for the loss of $120 in losses from my locker and the fact that I will have to drive much longer to get there. But instead of being polite and courteous, the manager just tells me I can cancel my membership. Customer service: Fail.

LA Fitness is clean and meets my fitness needs. I usually swim laps or do water fitness workouts when I go, and it’s rare that the pool has a closing. The water temperature is appropriate for lap swimming and water aerobics. I took a picture of me in one of my aquatic fitness outfits. Lol

Not really sure why they would close down the Avon location and keep this one open. I’ve been with LA for about 8 years and 38th st has always been the worst one in town. Equipment is never put back, lots of equipment broke or missing, the paper towels, wipes and soaps are almost always empty. Trash cans spilling over. It’s late September 2024 and I would be surprised if this place is still operating in 6 months.

What whirlpool? Ton of equipment just gotta figure them out.
Shallow pool just say its a kiddie pool 5 to 4 feet deep wow NOT. Omg do not dive!!!
