My husband and I first time at this establishment we were referred by some friends. Came for dinner the place was booming since we did not have a reservation there was like a ten minute wait. The hostess was very friendly, informative and professional. Our server Josh was nice attentive with good personality. We had the chicken empanadas which were amazing, Green Chile Lamb, and Chicken Enchiladas. All of the food was amazing well seasoned and deliciously put together. My husband tried the cocktail called “What we aren’t gonna do” with Tito’s in it and blood orange. Would definitely recommend this place and will return

Exceptional dining experience — the Skirt Steak is a must!
Had an amazing dinner at Livery on N College Ave, and it easily deserves five stars. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and vibrant — perfect for a night out with friends or a date.

I ordered the Skirt Steak, and it was absolutely phenomenal. Cooked perfectly medium-rare, tender and full of bold Latin-inspired flavors. The seasoning was spot-on, and the sides complemented the dish beautifully. Every bite was rich and satisfying without being too heavy.

Service was top-notch — our server was attentive, friendly, and gave great recommendations. The drink selection was also impressive, with unique cocktails that paired well with the food.

If you’re in Indianapolis and want a place with both style and substance, Livery is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes, but that skirt steak will be hard to beat!

This place is amazing. Very nice staff, Hannah who served us was great…. The food is ridiculously good. The flavors, the way the chef has combined them… we ordered 3 apps, 2 empanadas and shared the skirt steak. Every single dish was a home run. I am a foodie and this place is a really good.

Absolutely LOVED our experience at Livery. The cocktails were delicious and fun combinations. The food was delicious and great portions sizes too. Presentation was spot on as well. Highly recommend the seasonal flan – we had cherry and again, delicious! Definitely coming back for more. Do yourself a favor and get some empanadas. We did queso and I’m considering the flight for next time to try more flavors. I also love nice restaurants that offer patio spaces – which they do!

Worth the visit for sure. A nice and unique location with roof top patio. Delicious food a modern take on a lot of Latin classics. Kid friendly with a kids menu and families out. Good value as well. We had apps, dinner and a dessert for around a $100.

Absolutely loved this place. We tried all the vegetarian options on the menu and each bite was amazing and tasted rich till the last bite, staff was absolutely fantastic and took great care of our dietary choices and everyone knew what the menu was and knew each dish well, thats the true sign of a well functioning restaurant. When everyone knows the menu inside and out. The place was packed, good we went there with a reservation, although they allow walk ins but would strongly recommend reserving your spot before. Thoroughly enjoyed each dish and we ended up spending a lot, but worth the price.

Last time i went with my colleagues and had skirt steak, just melts in your mouth.

Amazing plating skills, with equally excellent quality and tasty food.

I’m a sucker for German food so I was excited to get to visit the Rathskeller. Not only do they have a huge menu of German specialties, but the location is super cool and historical. It really does transport you to a traditional German restaurant while you’re here. The food itself was delicious. I tried the sauerbraten which is a German pot roast and it was absolutely delicious! The pretzels are also tasty, though beware of that spicy mustard! Prices are a little high, but we visited for lunch and appreciated the lower cost of their lunch menu. They do have a kids menu and our daughters enjoyed their food as well. Service was friendly and our food came out quickly as well. If you’re looking for a unique dining experience, you have to give this place a shot!

It’s not every day I go to a restaurant and leave a review. It’s even less likely that I leave a review that’s overwhelming positive in every single aspect of my visit. Not only is the decor of the restaurant really cool to look at there’s also a history here. As far as food goes I got the Jaegerschnitzel. It comes with the soup of the day as well as bread service. The soup was a creamy tomato and I’ll be daamed if I don’t try to find the recipe somewhere it was that good. The “bread” service was a big soft pretzel and a spicy mustard. The mustard was really spicy but really good so use sparingly. The mushroom sauce on top of the Schnitzel was to die for. Not only that but the Schnitzel itself was very flavorful and light. The “accompaniments” that I got were the German Potato Salad and the Spaetzle Noodles. The potato salad was a sweet flavor and very delicious. It was an unexpected flavor but very welcomed. The Noodles were very interesting. From what I could taste they reminded me of really good dumplings. I did indulge in a beer when I went. It was the “Warsteiner Isenbeck” a Stout beer. It was really easy to drink and had a great flavor as well. I’d highly recommend. I went for two deserts for me and my partner to share. The first was the Apple Strudel Alamode. It needs every piece of this plate to make itself work but it’s very light and very good. The other was the Rathskeller Bread Pudding. I have few words other than perfection. This last light and not overly sweet. I loved every bite.

The last and most important part of this entire experience was our server. Michael who was are bartender/server was an experience. One of the best servers I’ve ever had it’s not hard to see why he’s been here for 20 years. I was happy talking with him and he made our experience all that more special.

Will I be back? Absolutely they have a outside patio with live music so got to come back for that. They have amazing food so I need to try more. And the staff just watching them makes me feel like there comrades in arms rather than coworkers. My only regret I ate the soup and entree so fast I forgot to take a photo.

Really good German food! I had the schnitzel. My husband had the ox tail soup. My grandson had the roulade (without gravy), and we got a sample player of bratwurst to share.

On one plate or another, there was sauerkraut and beets and German potato salad. Plus, they brought warm, chewy pretzels as the “bread” for the table.

My husband loved the mustard so much he wanted to buy a jar to bring home. Alas, they don’t sell it.

Very attentive and helpful service.

We shared a hot wurst plate and every one of them were delicious! Nice selection of German and Bavarian beers. After that, I was pretty full, so I opted for a bowl of their tomato soup and a pretzel for dinner and it was all delicious as well. My colleagues ordered the Sauerbraten and the Schlacht Platte, they both looked fantastic, and were enjoyed by them. We were seated in the Kellerbar area. There was also a Biergarten outdoors, with loud contemporary live music. There was a $20 cover to go out there, which we did not do this evening, but it seemed to draw a younger crowd and was very busy. Looks like it would be a fun night out!

Very traditional restaurant, it is really German and looks it is there for long time. It’s clean despite is an old place, but this is what makes your experience better, once you feel you are in Europe. Dishes are really German with NO adapts to American dietary. Only the apple strudel disappointed me but I completely understand once it’s hard to make a fresh one once there is no high flow orders for this desert.

This is my favorite hotel in Indianapolis. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect, short drive off 465 but just far enough away that it is quite. The hotel has its own restaurant plus there are eight additional in the complex (very short walking distance) that offer very different cuisines and are all very good. Highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed at Ironworks for our wedding weekend, including a block for our bridal party and immediate guests. We stayed in the Founder’s Suite and when I say the Ironworks team made our wedding weekend an absolute dream, I mean it. They were so accommodating and attentive, they made an already stressful weekend so so so much smoother. The hotel itself is beautiful and smells amazing in every corner you walk. We held our rehearsal dinner in their Keystone conference room and worked with the Provision team for catering—Also amazing to work with and major shoutout to Tabatha for making that evening come to life! We cannot wait to come back and stay again—Thank you again Ironworks team!

The Elevator and Airplane Finder

I have lived in Indy for 3 years now but it took me until now to finally eat at The Eagle’s Nest. I’ve visited the Hyatt Regency a ton of times and have always wondered whether this place lived up to the hype. I finally after all this time managed to eat here.

Came on a Tuesday at around 7 PM and they weren’t that busy. Just an fyi, but they DO have a dress code (business attire basically) so plan accordingly. The views up top are incredible, combined with the fact the place rotates around and gives you 360 views of the city.

First off, I have to give HUGE props to our waiter Anthony. He was SO kind, attentive to our table, gave incredible menu suggestions, and made sure we were doing fine the whole time. Honestly, he was one of the best waiters I’ve seen in the industry so we tipped him very well.
We started out with the Shrimp Cargot and the Thick Nueske’s Bacon as appetizers. Both were unbelievable. The shrimp was great and the bacon was unreal. I then got a bowl of the seafood chowder which was fantastic.

Then as my main course, I got the Braised Short Ribs with Polenta. Overall, it was phenomenal all around. The ribs were juicy, flavorful, and the sauce was delish. The polenta was good and the carrots were good too.

Overall, Eagle’s Nest was way better than I imagined! If you’re in Downtown Indy or are staying at the Hyatt, get yourself a reservation here. Was so worth it! I’ll easily be back.

This restaurant is located in downtown Indianapolis and offers a 360-degree view of the city. It’s not exactly an observation deck, but rather a rotating restaurant that slowly turns around its axis. While sitting at your table, you get to enjoy the stunning views of Indianapolis, which constantly change as the restaurant moves. I’ve been to a similar place in Vienna, and it’s truly an impressive experience.

You enter the restaurant through the hotel, and the elevator ride is beautiful – one side is glass, so as you go up, you see the entire hotel lobby below you with its open space and people sitting down, almost like you’re floating to the very top. I believe it’s located in the Hyatt, and it’s really cool.

The service was very good, and our server was kind and attentive. However, when you come to such a place, with panoramic views, valet parking, and this whole upscale atmosphere, you expect something extraordinary – a “wow” factor that takes your breath away.

Unfortunately, the food, while good, didn’t live up to that level. I ordered the tuna poke (or tuna tartare), and honestly, it didn’t impress me. I’ve had better versions of this dish in simpler restaurants where it was fresher and more flavorful. I didn’t even finish it.

My husband and my mom both ordered the duck and said it was very good. My dad ordered fish, and my son had a steak – they were happy with their meals. We also had crème brûlée for dessert, and they brought out a birthday cake for my dad, singing happy birthday, which was a lovely touch.

Overall, the view and the experience of being in such a unique rotating restaurant are unforgettable. But considering this is one of the most pretentious and upscale restaurants in Indianapolis, the food just didn’t reach the level of excellence we expected. The entire arrival experience – valet parking, beautiful glass elevator, luxurious hotel lobby, and breathtaking views – sets the bar high, but the food fell short of creating that final “wow” moment. It’s a bit sad because everything else about the place is truly special.

The food was the most mediocre but the views and service was great!

It’s a shame how flavorless the good tasted because I really enjoyed the overall vibe.

The waiter was incredible, shout out to Anthony. He made my rum punch a mocktail and was nice enough to hear me out for a suggestion for my mocktail with no issue!

We had the crab cakes and a brie appetizer and they were just so flavorless. The burrata salad was refreshing but also overall unseasoned. The prime rib was just okay but the size difference between mine and my partner’s was wild. We both ordered a 16 Oz but his was noticeably a quarter inch thicker than mine on at least half of his prime rib. I don’t know if he got more or I got less but it was so so strange. The best food item I had was the mashed potatoes (they were genuninely good)

While I love the vibes of the place, I would not go again because of the food.

First and foremost, finding the elevator that leads to the restaurant was a TASK. There is no signage to help. The food was decent, the banana toffee pudding was incredible and the best part of the meal. Service was okay and our server was very nice, but incrediblyyyyyy slow. The entire meal took 4 hours start to finish.

I had dinner tonight at High Velocity in the JW Marriott and I was pleasantly surprised. Sports bars usually have great burgers and wings but I decided to go with the salmon – it was fantastic! I would stack it up with any place. So naturally I had to have the brownie with ice cream as a way of saying thank you. I will definitely be back!

What a fun spot for all ages! This place can be somewhere you go with the family, group of friends and a work outing. They have so many different games and offer a wide variety of drinks which are creative and flavorful. Everything is reasonably priced. I didnt see any food available but it looks like they allow you to bring your own food. Service was great as well.

What a fun and unique place to hang out. You can’t be bored here. The Duckpin game is so much fun and at $7 per person per game, you can’t beat that. No special shoes required, much more fun than bowling. The atmosphere is amazing, everyone is there to have a good time. You have pin ball machines, ping pong, patio pong, which was a lot of fun, multiple seating areas, two floors to spread out, three bars, multiple TVs, good music and upstairs outdoor patio. Loved it here. Prices are great, very clean and staff was nice. Highly recommend.

Absolutely so much fun! Drinks were delish! Cage Soccer was so fun, yard pong also a blast! Pinball galore! We didn’t do the bowling but it looks so fun! Not much for food, however.

So much fun to play a few games of duck pin with friends after work, or for a birthday party. Drinks are amazing. Food is good, and you’re free to bring food in from The Garage next door. Pinball is amazing, too. Great selection of machines. You won’t regret booking your next event here!

Such a cool place with a great vibe love the pool tables up stairs and down stairs both amazing . On the other hand I’m a bartender and I never leave these type of reviews but consistently your bartenders are drinking on the job and are rude . Attitude about literally everything. I will say the bartender with the long hair last night apologized for the way his co worker was acting but it wasn’t his fault . Sometimes bartenders can get burnt out after awhile I get it it’s long hours . But treating people like shit in the service industry is the worst thing for the company and tips .

We went here for karaoke while in town for a Taking Back Sunday/ Coheed and Cambria concert. They have karaoke every Sunday. The kj was very nice and a great singer. But when theres SO many singers, and there was SO many singers, I dont think the kj should also be singing. There was a lot of time wasted too. We waited forever to sing as did everyone else. So many people sang then left immediately. The crowd was very supportive and engaged while there. Wide variety of song choices. The libations were flowing so everyone was pretty tipsy. Prime people watching for a sober gal like myself. They were serving food til pretty late it looked like too but we didnt eat. They have a game room upstairs that had a couple arcade games , a foosball table, a skeeball table and a couple of pool tables . The place is pretty big!

I was visiting from Miami, FL and me and my man decided to take a stroll around fountain square and we stumbled upon this place. It was such a vibe. We played pool upstairs and it was only 5 bucks for 1 hour! It was such a vintage little spot. We decided to eat at the bar and I had the best sampler of life! I decided on the lemon pepper wings and everything was made fresh. I will be visiting Indianapolis again and this place will be our go to again.

We didn’t eat here. We only played pool and darts and ordered a few cocktails. It seems like this once was a very popular place but might not be as much anymore. We also attended on a Wednesday around 6:00 and stayed for a few hours, so that might have also made it seem less crowded. The pool tables, as well as the sticks, have seen some action but still played just fine. The dart boards and darts were in good shape. You must get your balls/darts from the bar downstairs to play. There is a nice view from the second floor. Prices were very fair and we did enjoy out time there.

Came here to get some drinks with some friends at about 12-1 am the upstairs bartender was drunk taking shots and flirting with a girl at the bar so I didn’t tip and then I asked if he had a lime and he says “not for you.” I then decide to get more drinks but think ‘maybe downstairs will be more professional’ I was wrong. The bartender down there walks over to our corner of the bar where we were simply standing and waiting and slams down a tablet on the table multiple times and then throws it across the bar at us. My friend reasonably upset began yelling at him and we were told “you can leave if YOU are gonna start problems.” WHAT!? Quickly another bartender realized her coworker was the issue and offered us free drinks but after all of this I will never spend my money here again and suggest others avoid it.

Driving through town stopped in to have a few beers and shoot some pool because we had heard of there game room and pool tables being a good experience. Asked for a bucket of Budweiser they don’t have carry that beer nor do they offer buckets or any drink specials which was disappointing to start. Go upstairs to there game room almost every pool table had torn felt and stains from various fluids carpet was greasy and dingy. We find a decent table to shoot pool and find that the bar had no chalk for the ques anywhere mind you it costs $10/hr for a table then per asking the bartender for chalk she has no answer to providing any I request money back and she denies so we play a miserable game of pool have our $30 bucket of beer set our pool balls to the side so nobody takes our dingy table and take a smoke break outside when I receive an emergency call for my daughter so we leave. Next day my card is charged for $75 for the hour of pool because of the pool balls we set to the side. Two days later I decide to go back and have a civil conversation upon the misunderstanding where I am then denied service because “the cost needs to be set right with the bar” for what seems to be an up and coming area this establishment appears to be drowning in the pond of businesses that are flourishing around it. I’m a frequent flyer at bars and will be sure this business receives feedback from my groups. To any future customers here I know you can do better at finding a place for entertainment

I go for the game night they have every 2 weeks. Very chill vibe. But lots of fun people come out to play. I was new and everyone made me feel welcomed! Drink selection is good and I enjoy the burger on the menu. Also, I am not a huge tater total fan. Usually places cook them too soft and the cook here makes them crunchy and perfect every single time! I come here to have tater tots and don’t eat them any other place! Great food and the bartender Casey is the best! Funny & personable!

I’ve been here a couple times and overall it’s … fine, I guess? The rooftop aspect is what makes it interesting, but everything else falls short. Drinks are passable but not fantastic. Too expensive, in my opinion. Not really enough seating, and most of the seating and other structures are not permanent fixtures. Glad I’ve experienced it, but I have no plan to return in the future.

If you want to get a different perspective of Indianapolis, come to the Rooftop Garden. A quick elevator ride in a beautiful Art Deco building, and you can enjoy a nice, cold drink and a beautiful view. The wings and pizza were tasty, too!

Go here for the beautiful rooftop view of Downtown Indianapolis. We got some great photos and had a fun time! The drinks are good. I enjoyed their summer specials. They’re also doing a good job of monitoring capacity and ensuring spacing and safety during the pandemic. The staff were friendly and bartenders helpful and fast.

Something to know, there are no restrooms on the Rooftop Garden & Lounge. You have to go down to Atomic Duckpin Bowling level in the same building. Not great upkeep of those bathrooms but again, you’re there for the rooftop view.

Hello there. The food was delicious. Crispy chicken was juicy and savory. They really knew how to cook.
But 4 stars are given in advance, since they recently opened. The service was not so great but they were able to negotiate mistakes easily, that made a good impression.
Nice and clean area, a lot of space and comfortable accommodation.

The atmosphere in this restaurant is great. It looks amazing and is a great place to hang out. The cocktail menu is innovative and the service is fantastic. Food was good but I wouldn’t say great. While the pork tenderloin and cornbread dish was good it wasn’t hot and pork want easy to cut. The duck main needed more flavor.

The host was the most, he was very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance was at the $30 a plate level, clean and refined. Food was cold, and there wasn’t anything to write home about… Pity really, as the other reviews so elegantly stated, ” there is so much potential”. Get the burger and fries. The view itself adds a quiet charm, with thoughtful lighting that makes conversations easy and the overall experience feel relaxed and dependable.

Whether you’re meeting friends or enjoying a solo break, the Social View environment encourages lingering a little longer. I appreciated the thoughtful pacing of service and the quality of drinks that stay consistent across visits. The only minor snag was a brief delay during peak hours, easily forgivable given the generally quick turnover and lively, friendly crowd that keeps the place feeling energetic without shoutiness.

Go into town late, only place open near my hotel and I didn’t want to go too far.
Very nice place, lots of seating areas. I want you to the top deck in the outside seating area. Service was good and the food came in a timely manner. Don’t be discouraged if there are not a lot of people especially on a Sunday night. Soon as I sat down people started coming in. Good music as well.

This spot is located in the intersection of the streets, and you need to go up to the second floor. Highly recommend the Social View Signature Sandwich – the bacon jam has a nice touch of sweetness and the grilled chicken is really tasty. The hot chips are also worth trying. The serving might be a tad slow. Overall, about $17 per person, and definitely worth it!

Top Rated Reviewer Dee-lish! There’s a wrap around terrace on the second level, so this place probably rocks in the summer. I was here in the dead of winter and the food was so good, I couldn’t wait to come back for more! They have one of the best black & blue salads, ever! The spice reminds me of churrascaria in Spain, which is balanced by the flavorful chunks of creamy blue cheese. Frequently asked questions about rooftop bars in Indianapolis

What makes rooftop bars in Indianapolis unique?

Indy rooftop bars combine urban skyline views with indoor-outdoor spaces and a sense of Midwest hospitality. Patrons can enjoy craft cocktails, local beers, and light fare while overlooking downtown landmarks. Seasonal weather and clever design keep these venues comfortable, with heaters in cooler months and shade in summer.

Which neighborhoods are best for rooftop bars in Indianapolis?

Downtown and Mass Ave provide the most options, including high-rise venues with skyline vistas. Broad Ripple and Fountain Square offer more relaxed vibes and eclectic menus, while the canal district blends scenic views with walkable access. Each area has its own character and crowd.

    Are rooftop bars weather-friendly year-round?

Most rooftops have outdoor seating with heated promenades or retractable covers, making spring and autumn comfortable. In winter, many venues convert to indoor or semi-indoor spaces with fire features and wind protection. Check the seasonal hours and weather policy before planning.

What safety considerations should I know when visiting rooftop bars?

Rooftop venues enforce capacity limits, height requirements, and responsible drinking policies. Expect secure railings, non-slip surfaces, and staff trained in emergency procedures. It’s wise to arrive early for seating and follow patron guidelines for a safe experience.

How do rooftop bar prices compare to ground-level bars?

Prices vary by location and view quality, but many rooftops offer hourly specials, happy hours, and shared plates to offset higher drink costs. Expect a premium for panoramic views and a casual upscale environment. Budget accordingly and look for drink-and-appetizer bundles.

Do rooftop bars in Indianapolis serve food, and what is typically on the menu?

Most rooftops provide a concise menu of small plates, shareable platters, and occasionally warm entrees. Look for seasonal menus, local ingredients, and signature bar bites. Pair meals with a signature cocktail or a local craft beer.

What about dress code and age restrictions at rooftop bars?

Dress codes range from casual to smart casual, depending on the venue. Some rooftops are explicitly 21+, particularly after sunset, while others may welcome families during earlier hours. Always verify the policy before you go to avoid surprises.

How can I find the best rooftop bar for sunset or skyline views?

Look for venues advertised with sunset views or panoramic skylines of downtown Indianapolis. Consider location, height, and opening hours for the golden hour window. Checking recent reviews can reveal real-time conditions and crowd dynamics.

Are there private event or group options at Indianapolis rooftop bars?

Many rooftops offer private event packages, including catering, dedicated spaces, and AV equipment. These packages vary by vendor and date availability, so it’s best to contact the venue well in advance for quotes and requirements.

Tips for planning a rooftop bar visit in Indianapolis

Plan with reservations during peak times, especially on weekends. Check hours, weather policy, and community guidelines. Arrive early for best seating, bring a light jacket for cooler evenings, and be mindful of noise levels around nearby residences.
