This was our first time dining at Salt, and we had such an incredible experience — largely thanks to our waiter, Brandon. From the moment we walked in, he was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Since it was both of our first visits, he took the time to walk us through the menu, offer thoughtful recommendations, and make sure we were enjoying every moment. You can truly tell he cares about the experience he provides. It’s been years since I’ve had service this exceptional. Salt is so lucky to have someone like Brandon on their team. I can’t wait to come back, and I sincerely hope we get him again. Thank you, Brandon, for making our night so special — best service I’ve had in years. Keep shining!

This place is soooo good! The vibes are awesome. The food is probably the best in Indiana. Our server, Hannah, made our anniversary dinner 10 times better! She recommended us the food we’d really like and was considerate of our requirements of no alcohol to be used in the food. We ordered: the crab cakes as sides. They were very filling and tasteful. The Parmesan crusted Chillean sea bass with lobster risotto and the pan seared scallops also with the lobster risotto. Mind blowing food!! And for dessert we got the 6-layer chocolate cake and boyyyy it was a chocolate heaven❤️ Will definitely come back for celebrating all our anniversaries and birthdays here. Again, special shoutout to Hannah for making our dinner special.

Talk about fresh! This was amazing! The surf and turf app was on point! The bread and bread fire! Talk about amazing service Brandon was friendly and knew the menu with excellent recommendations! The old fashioned perfect not to heavy on the bitters! The steak was cooked to perfection! The lobster tail was juicy tender and full of flavor one of the best lobster tails I have had in a long time and it was a large size! The cheesecake omg talk about the best just wonderful flavor! If you want fresh seafood this is the spot to be.

My husband Brett and I dined here a few days ago. Everything was amazing! The food could have been a 0 out of 10, but still would give this restaurant a 10 because of our server. Hannah (spelled the same backwards) was the best part of the whole experience. My husband and I own a couple of restaurants and we know how hard it is to find great help. Hannah is 100% a keeper! For the record, the food was also a 10. We will be back.

We were splurging for a date night. Brandon recommended we add poke to the seafood appetizer, which was perfect. We took our time enjoying appetizer, entree, dessert, and drinks. Scallops and Sable fish were both delicious with choice of side and sauce. Brandon was ready with recommendations. We were not in a hurry, and he appropriately checked in. We did not feel rushed, and the food was worth the expense. The only downside was the noise. It was difficult to have a conversation with a wide table and loud music. Definitely plan ahead for parking and reservations so you can enjoy a relaxing meal.

Amazing atmosphere and service. Abby is great at making & recommending drinks! Food was out of this world you must try the Chilean sea bass. Best fish I’ve had in Indy.

Jerome Morgan, Jr.

Rick’s Café Boatyard offers a beautiful dining experience with a great view and friendly, attentive staff. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for enjoying a nice meal by the water. I ordered the Beef Short Rib Grilled Cheese, which was good but could’ve used more seasoning to really bring out the flavor. On the other hand, the French fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. The service was excellent throughout my visit, and the overall vibe of the restaurant made it enjoyable. Even though my main dish didn’t completely impress, I still had a pleasant experience. I’d definitely consider coming back next time I’m in town to try something different from their menu. Four solid stars for great service, nice scenery, and a comfortable dining atmosphere.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Boatyard Restaurant — A Hidden Gem That’s Worth Every Bite This place truly impressed me. The food isn’t just good — it’s diverse, fresh, and beautifully plated. You can tell the chefs actually care about flavor and presentation. From the perfectly seasoned chicken with rice and beans to the vibrant salads, everything tasted balanced and full of life. The atmosphere? Cozy yet elegant. Great lighting, good music, and a friendly crowd. The staff were super welcoming and attentive — the kind of service that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. If you’re looking for a spot where you can unwind with a glass of wine, good company, and real conversation, Boatyard is the move. 🍷✨

Great place just right off the main road, probably beautiful outside when its warm out but its fine dining and a romantic spot. This place was packed so be patient. Tim our server was great. Food was good. Please just be aware my scallops had a sand/grit inside it and it will scare you biting down on this. We will return.

We booked Rick's for my birthday dinner for 11 people (10 adults and a little one) and had a blast! I'd been a few times, but most of my friends said this was their first time dining at Rick's and they were really pleased. I had the clam chowder for my starter and the lobster tail for my entree. Super delicious!! It's even more fun if you come during warmer seasons and get to sit on the patio and look at the reservoir. Highly recommend!

Don't miss this jewel of a restaurant if you are visiting Indianapolis. Locals know what a fantastic restaurant this is. Our server, Ann, was professional and an obviously highly skilled server. Our brunch party of 15 was well-served. Meal service flowed smoothly and was well-timed. The food was fantastic. Looking forward to the next visit!

Rumors that this has been a good place to eat drove me to this place however when I got here the first gentleman I met offered me a menu, when I figured out what I wanted to order another man asked me if I wanted any help so I told him what I wanted to order, but his reply was "go over there that's where they take your order" as if I was bothering him. So if he wanted to help why did he brutally tell me to go somewhere else, the menu was in my hand obviously somebody gave it to me! The place closes in an hour and 15 minutes but that is no excuse to have a bad attitude with a customer.

Refreshing to visit a restaurant like this that's all about serving good fresh food. Ordering your choice of fresh fish or seafood at the counter and then waiting for it to be cooked to order is a reminder of the way things used to be and should be. Eating at the small dining area reminiscent of a big city diner is almost magical, bringing back memories of times past. It's not a fancy place, but a very comfortable place. I also noticed that they were doing a brisk carryout business. Give yourself a break from the routine, and enjoy a great meal at Caplingers you'll be glad you did.

We purchased a certificate from Fox 59 and finally made it here before it expired. I was not aware of how many different options they had. I didn't look at the menu before coming. The staff was all very pleasant and patient while I decided what to order. I ordered the fish and chicken meal. I was excited I could get the chicken grilled and the fish fried. Everything we ordered was AMAZING! Can't wait to go back!

My goodness….This is the first restaurant here in Central Indiana that's worth dining at. My catfish nuggets were so juicy and tender yet crunchy and flavorful, not overcooked and hard, just perfect. I'm savoring every bite of it 😋. Even the sides were super delicious. I highly recommend the okra and the green beans. I will definitely be back again. My meal was worth every penny plus more. Brought back good childhood memories 😌 And the customer service was excellent! All around 5 stars!

Caplingers Fresh Catch is a top spot for seafood lovers. They offer a wide selection of fresh fish by the pound, or you can have it cooked on-site to eat there or take home. Beyond seafood, they also have alligator, chicken, pork tenderloins, and prepared spreads like tuna salad. You’ll find plenty of fixings too—panko breadcrumbs, rice, and breading for frying—plus pies by the slice or whole. I stopped in around 1 p.m. during an off-peak hour, but even then, they were busy (though the wait wasn’t long). I ordered the Caplinger Special Dinner, which includes two pieces of Basa, two hush puppies, and two sides. I went with fried okra and buffalo fries. I asked for my fish crispy, and it was cooked perfectly. I’ve tried many items here, and the only one I didn’t care for was the Walleye—too pricey to be disappointed twice, though it might’ve just been an off day. Overall, this place is a winner. Friendly staff, great service, and excellent food. Highly recommend stopping in!

Our food was tasty, my walleye fillets didn't smell fishy at all, they gave big portions of sides as well. A lot of fresh sea/lake products here are very interesting. The place feels clean too, definitely recommended if you feel like eating fresh seafood

Jax

Ribeye was fabulous. The waitress was very personable and attentive. Very gluten-free friendly! However, the Wagyu steak was not worth the hype and the menu does not have sides that are dairy free friendly. Of course they can do veggies without dairy, but basically their vegetables are very bland with absolutely nothing on them but salt. Atmosphere is phenomenal. It’s very much a great Gatsby theme. Dessert cocktails are perfect perfection!

Everything about my brunch at The Fountain Room was enjoyable. From the moment you walk in, the décor and the incredible smell of goodness draw you in. The Christmas decorations were a beautiful added touch and made the space feel especially warm and inviting. The coffee and hot chocolate were delicious, and the "oh my goodness" cinnamon rolls served piping hot in an iron skillet were absolutely scrumptious. We took our time, wanting to truly savor the experience. We shared the beets and peach salad, which was fresh and flavorful. I devoured the shrimp and grits, prepared without the hot link sausage since I don’t eat pork or beef, and they were outstanding. My sister couldn’t stop raving about the brisket hash. Between the atmosphere, the attentive service, and the incredible food, this experience was a full win. Five stars, hands down.

The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was just right as well! I had the French dip and it was the best French dip I've had in my life. My date had the sea bass and she thought it was delicious. My friend had the ribeye and said it was one of the best he'd ever had, but a couple of the people at our table had the filet and they weren't that impressed. I'm not a big fan of a filet cut in general, so I can't chime in one way or the other. I do think the ribeye looked delicious, so I would try that if I came back.

Wow! Start to finish wow! I don't even know how to articulate the experience, but I'll try. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our water glasses were never empty. The server, Meg, was just the right amount of attentive and gave us alone time too. She had great recommendations! I had the French dip and it was so delicious! My dude had the pork tenderloin and the way the chef married the apples was next level. The detail in the decor was stunning and the care they took in the bathrooms was wonderful. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience dining here tonight to celebrate Valentine’s Day and his birthday! Everyone we interacted with was friendly and professional. There was not one negative comment we had about the food. I had the wagyu burger and fries and my husband had the hanger steak. We shared the lobster and crab dip, broccolini, and grasshopper pie!

Went here for my boyfriend’s birthday. Absolutely loved it! Our waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and offered great wine selections and different menu options. Beef Tartare was delicious, and I would recommend the sea bass and duck confit. Great drinks, great dinner, very welcoming staff and ambience was exactly what i was looking for. I will definitely be a repeat patron.

LOVED everything about the fountain room! Ordered the shrimp and grits with a bottle of Prosecco on the side! The shrimp and grits were really really good! We ended up sitting at the bar because we were early for our reservation and ended up staying because of how friendly the bartender was. I will definitely be coming back to try more things on the menu!

I'll start by saying we frequent this place often and have never been disappointed with the food. Food was amazing as always. Our server(Barb) was pleasant, but absent most of our visit. She didn't do a bad job, I just think she's focused more on the tables she knew had gratuity coming. That said, they were very busy. I am just used to more of a presence from my waitress. We came for my son's birthday. We never hot the chance to converse and tell her because she was in and out like lightning when she car to the table. Still a good overall experience.

First time at Juicy Seafood or really any seafood boil place in Indiana! The service from our waitress Ajacia was incredible, she was constantly checking in on our table and making sure she answered all questions and requests as swiftly as possible even when the restaurant was a big business. The food was great from the seafood boil down to the cajun fries!

We had a fantastic experience at Juicy Seafood celebrating a very special birthday with a group of 30 people — and everything was absolutely seamless from start to finish. Precious and Brie were exceptional. They were organized, efficient, friendly, and incredibly attentive. Managing a group that size is no small task, but they handled it with professionalism and warmth, going above and beyond to make the evening feel special and effortless. Kudos to the kitchen as well — the food was fantastic! Everything came out timely, hot, and delicious, which is impressive for such a large party. We are truly impressed by how smoothly our entire group was taken care of and so appreciative of the whole team. It made the celebration memorable in the best way. Highly recommend!

Very upset with our most recent visit. We come about 4 times a year and have always loved this location specifically. My family attends for a birthday dinner at least once a year, but we still go often even without it being a celebration. Visited on 1/18 for my mother’s birthday, we barely got any sauce in our Mr Captains, and they also refused to give my mom a dessert for her birthday. They wanted to see her ID to verify it was her actual birthday? Insane, never heard of that. She didn’t have it on her that day unfortunately. Instead of singing her happy birthday and bringing a slice of cheesecake like they’ve done every other year we’ve came, they offered a 10% discount. We left with a $146 bill, no cute sign with a happy birthday song, no cheesecake and no 10% off discount. Paid our bill and still tipped but do not recommend this location at all anymore. She still got her birthday cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory, but highly disappointed with the service and the quality. The server barely came to our table, and wasn’t very nice which shocked me because we LOVE this location. For the amount you pay, you don’t get your moneys worth and the service doesn’t make it any better. We will not be back after visiting this location at least 4 times a year since 2022 💔 Anyone have any other great suggestions for seafood spots please let me know.

Here’s a polished Yelp-style review at around 100 words, keeping the honest and balanced tone: The Bang Bang shrimp is good and probably my favorite item from the meal, with a nice flavor and satisfying texture. The chicken egg roll is okay, nothing special but fine as a starter. The fish and chips are also just okay—I’m personally not a big fan of that dish here. The salmon is good and cooked well, but it leans on the sweet side, so if you don’t like sweet flavors, it may not be the best choice. The crab cake is not bad and worth trying. Overall, a mixed experience with some solid highlights.

My dining experience at the restaurant was outstanding. I had been looking forward to trying this establishment, since there’s not a location in my area. Upon visiting, I found that they were hosting an event for members, which affected the service but not by much. However, the seasonal martini was superb and refreshing, a true delight. The food was exceptionally fresh and full of flavor. The Cod was cooked to perfection, paired with an amazingly delightful lemon-caper butter sauce. The Mahi-mahi and shrimp were expertly grilled and seasoned. The bang bang shrimp were delicious, an absolute must-try from the menu. The chargrilled oysters possessed a smoky, buttery, garlicky flavor, making them irresistibly delicious and my top choice. I plan to return to the restaurant, primarily to enjoy the oysters once again.

Our experience was pleasant. Our waitress was very friendly. We did have to wait a bit for drink refills but nothing too long, I just hate having to ask for a refill at all. There was a small ~seafood smell~ when we walked in that wasn’t the most welcoming. Our booth was very spacious and could accommodate 3 adults plus a baby in a car seat comfortably. All of our food was very good and came out quickly, portion size was maybe on the smaller side compared to price point. Our biggest complaint was the drunken coconut pie. It is served with a rum sauce, and the rum was not nearly cooked down enough, which was surprising for a dessert. Take the word "drunken" literally if you order this. Overall we enjoyed our time and we will be back!

I think they were having a rough day. The table next to us got the full run down of the specials, our server wasn’t tentative, we barely got water and he didn’t discuss the menu. Although it was lunch time and only 6 people for some reason it was very slow. My usual dish is the cedar plank salmon however comma as you can see it wasn’t presented correctly and the sweetness from the berries spilled into my mash potatoes (yuck). I’m giving them grace, but my review is to actually raise awareness about the infamous Bang Bang shrimp. This is my 3rd time in the last 9 months and the recipe has changed. The color, texture and taste are different these days and I won’t be ordering it for a while. The breading doesn’t stay on the shrimp which is incorrect maybe they’re bringing it out too fast but never should it be ok to fall apart and each time the staff justifies it so I’ll just not order it. And yes this is how he sat my plate down I took 1 bite and took the picture. The broccoli scattered and sauce all on the plate luckily this wasn’t my first time.

A friend and I went to Bonefish Grill off of Allisonville Rd impromptu on a Sunday. We were able to eat from their brunch menu and had some seasonal options. Had the bang, bang shrimp as an appetizer and it was good! I had the shrimp and grits and my friend had the grouper and crab cake; both were absolutely delicious! We also had the druken coconut cake and the chocolate creme brule (again both really good). Kate and Collin were our servers and both were so great! Was a very nice experience and definitely anticipating returning!

Used the curbside pickup service and everything was good and my order was correct! I was disappointed with the dessert portion size I felt for the cost the portion size was not equitable. Otherwise good food and service!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My husband and I were in Indianapolis for a concert and discovered Crab 99 Bar & Restaurant by chance — our Airbnb was in the same building, so we decided to give it a try since it was literally downstairs. We’re so glad we did because it turned out to be an amazing dining experience from start to finish! We started with the raw oysters and Honey-Garlic Wings, both incredibly fresh and full of flavor. For our entrées, we had the Seafood Gumbo and the Snow Crab Legs with corn, potato, and their signature boiling sauce — everything was perfectly seasoned, rich, and absolutely delicious. Our server, Chrissa, was outstanding — friendly, professional, and attentive without hovering. She made great recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The vibe was lively and welcoming, with good music playing in the background and a fun crowd that added to the atmosphere. The location is ideal, right in the heart of downtown Indy, making it a great stop before or after an event. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the city and highly recommend Crab 99 to anyone looking for great seafood, excellent service, and a fun, relaxed dining experience.

We stopped in for a bite before the Yueltide show. Our server was great! The food was perfect. Brought my nephew for his first seafood boil and calamari he loved it. They have a separate room and game area pictured below highly recommend if downtown Indianapolis. Parking lot located across the street.

Crab 99 was delicious. I visited twice in one week while in Indy and both visits were great. I ordered 1/2lb snow crab which came with one corn and one potato. Everything was cooked perfectly and the boiling sauce (all three flavors) spicy, was the star. Buttery, garlicky, flavorful, and not overly salty like many other seafood boil spots. On my second visit, the honey garlic wings, all flats were good, and the $10 Tuesday fried catfish dinner was seasoned and fried perfectly with a side of fried rice and corn on cob. Nice atmosphere, good music, and friendly staff. If you want a great seafood boil in Indy, definitely check out Crab 99.

The food here was pretty good. The pickles were ok they were cooked a little too long but still edible just crunchy. The wings were very good even though it was about a 20 min. wait they were very hot and fresh tasting. They have a few different choices for the wings which was nice & I chose bbq. My wife ordered a crab leg boil which she said was seasoned very good with a nice amount of food. It seems a little small upstairs but they have another level for seating in the basement level. They also have some kind of game room which I didn't get see. Overall I think it's a good family restaurant with about 8 TV's so can watch whatever games may be available. I thought it was family friendly with a nice amount of menu and drink choices.

This was our third time dining at Crab 99, and once again, we left impressed! Our server, Shya, greeted us with a warm smile and immediately made us feel welcome. She was quick to get our drink and appetizer order in, and her knowledge of the menu was excellent. We did have to wait a little longer for our food, but it was absolutely worth it—the flavors and quality never disappoint. Every visit so far has been consistent, and the service has always been friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back again soon. Highly recommend Crab 99!

Really wonderful restaurant! Service was great. The atmosphere feels very luxurious. Every table gets a fresh veggie tray and bread. Both were great! Its nice have two free appetizers included. The lobster was cooked perfectly! The steak was excellent. The salmon wasn’t the best I had but it was fine. The fries were good. Green beans were okay. I think for the price of the appetizers, it was a bit disappointing. Overall the great rating is from the service. Everyone is helping each other.

Amazing experience. Food was fantastic. Service was spot on. My husband had Chilean seabass and I had the swordfish. For dessert we had the Baked Alaska. We also had the crab cakes and crab tails. The crab cakes were the best I've ever had in my life – so fresh! The sauce on the swordfish made me crave more.

I’ve eaten at literal tons of restaurants downtown but The Oceanaire was one place I somehow had never even been to before! We recently dined in for the first time so here’s my first experience: We came on Christmas Day at around 5 PM and they weren’t very busy. Our waitress was SUPER friendly and attentive to our table and gave some great menu recommendations. We started with the complimentary bread/butter along with an order of the Calamari. Both were fantastic! I got the Chicken Fried Lobster as my entree. Overall, I was blown away to a point where I think this may be one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The lobster was tender, the breading was super crispy and fried to perfection, the mashed potatoes I ordered with it were great too and the hot sauce on top was an amazing addition to flavor. Overall, a phenomenal first experience at The Oceanaire. If you’re in Downtown Indy and craving a true seafood spot, this is definitely the winner! I will easily come back.

I greeted and treated like a queen from the moment I stepped into the restaurant. Stephanie the server took me upstairs and I got a bird's eye view of the 1st floor. Bread and butter was offered by a young man who constantly filled my water glass. A veggie relish was also offered and I chewed my way into it. Stephanie was very knowledgeable about the menu and I promised her I'll come back for the oyster experience. Right now, she took my cocktail order and Caesar salad. She checked up on me and made sure I was enjoying the appetizers. Then the lobster came out. It was a glorious thing to behold. I sent it back because it wasn't un shelled. I wore a nice dress and had no intention of ruining it. It was brought out unshelled and I could enjoy the sweet red meat with lemon and butter. Next, Stephanie brought me a glass of pinot griot and chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce. A three course meal that was worth the money I've spent.

We had an excellent experience for Devour! All of our meals were outstanding, and the desserts were all creative. I loved the salmon with arugula, watermelon, and balsamic. It was perfectly cooked. The lobsters were perfect as well. Service was the best you will find, and staff all worked together as a team to make the experience smooth, with designated staff filling waters and taking dishes. We really appreciated the treatment they gave us – worth returning to!

Our first visit to the Oceanaire. Outstanding is an understatement. Brittany and Randy took excellent care of use, the Sea Bass Ramen was superb, my wife reported the best ribeye she's ever had. The chef pulled off a perfect Pittsburg on the steak. Absolutely wonderful. If you miss dining at Oceanaire, you are missing a lot.
