Ballard computes is a gem. I had a laptop which spontaneously stopped posting a BIOS that was beyond my ability to fix. Marvin de-soldered the chip restored the bios and had it working quickly, this is pretty esoteric work and it’s amazing to have someone capable of it nearby. Turn around time was very fast, communication was great, pricing was very fair, and he stands by his work. Marvin and his business are an easy recommendation.

First the store is great for computer enthusiast. It beats BB or the old Fry’s Electronics stores. But here is where it went South.
I had a simple question about my Microsoft subscription share; I could not share it to my laptop that I purchased from Micro Center. I just sent my cousin there to shop and she bought a laptop. They did not share with me a cost for his “Consultation”, which he claimed it under for even looking at it. Had I known I would have decided it wasn’t worth $50.00 they charged me for 15 min to figure out the issue. Then he showed me a Service Brochure to purchase a 1 year agreement for $139. He could have said thanks for coming in, there will be no cost, and I wouldn’t be writing this to share my disappointment with their Service Department.
I still think it’s a great store, but I would never purchase their warranties or suggest going to their service department, without full disclosure of their fees for any service they provide. I definitely learned my lesson.

Go at your own risk . I went in with a brand new pc two days old that was shipped to me , and took it their because I was getting a blank screen paid 80.00 just for them to see what the problem was and said it would be next day or two days and to leave it their . Ok Got a text saying the next day even though on their website it says if you buy a part it will be repaired the same day . They didn’t even give me an option. Next day I get a text to pick up pc it’s fixed just needed mother brain put back in to go pick up and not even have my power cord . Pieces off of it and didn’t even put back on it or give it to me , WiFi usb gone . I even asked for my hdmi and power cord and was told both was inside of pc . To come all the way home to now power cord , pieces inside off . They fixed it and didn’t even put it back Together ! I called and they said didn’t see anything and they advise customer to not bring in their power cord because it happens often ! I said that’s funny I wish I was advised because they needed mine for sure ! A brand new pc parts just gone !

Great experience here! I brought in a mac that was 12 years old that finally called it quits. The guys at the knowledge bar were extremely helpful in giving me my options for data recovery and a new computer. They were very informative and patient with my questions and concerns. They transferred all my data to a brand new mac and I could not be more pleased. I dealt with Dustin, Kevin and Kyle and give them all 10/10. If I had their credit card, my wallet would be in danger. Knowledgeable staff and always friendly support. Also great service – being willing to POST test parts for a good price has saved me from spending $500 on CPUs I thought I ruined.
Update 07/2024: Absolutely consistent in their great service and selection. I wish I remembered the sales rep assisting me, but I had a question in regards to a mouse that I was interested. He had offered to just unseal the box and allowed me to experiment with it, with no hesitation. Hope you guys are here to stay, I’ll keep coming back.

So Austin was fantastic. I am having a gaming PC built for my son. I was given a parts lists and being completely uninformed on gaming PCs Austin was amazing. I actually got better parts than the original list and added an anti virus and was still under budget. The only thing else I have to get is a windows key for 25. But Austin was awesome and my 12 yr old gamer fell in love with the store. If was ALOT to take in tbh but a tech persons dream. Didn’t make me feel like an idiot and was SUPER helpful recommend 10/10

I purchased a KEF R6 Meta Center Channel Speaker as an open box item on the website. It was listed in excellent condition and shipped from this store. This is a $2,200 speaker when purchased new and the factory packaging consists of a large well-packaged box. This store didn’t even bother to put it in a box. They merely wrapped it in plastic wrap, slapped a shipping label on it, and called it a day. This speaker is made out of wood with a piano black finish. I’m sure you can assume the condition of the speaker when it arrived to me. The worst part is that I can’t walk in and exchange it for another speaker. My only option is to return it and wait for a refund. I can’t believe this is how their employees are trained. Who thought this was a good idea?

I came into Best Buy today for a memory card for a car camera for a friend of mine. I also had a couple questions about tablets/notebooks. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the store and walked to the area I needed and shown where I was to go next. Great experience here this week. Had my laptop screen go out. I stopped in, and after a short wait while another customer was sorted out, Dan introduced himself, had my laptop apart, back together, and a screen on order in about 30 minutes. I was able to keep my laptop while waiting on the replacement screen.

Literally the worst experience. Called ahead of time on Thursday to ensure my screen would be completed same day. Was told “3pm is the cutoff time for same day guarantee.” Perfect. Phone was in their hands by 2pm.
As I was preparing to leave, the tech told me “your phone is next. So it should be done by 5 or 5:30 AT THE LATEST. ” And, yes, he did emphasize the last part. I live on the West side of Indy, so I figured I’d find a place to take my laptop and work while I waited.
5:15 rolled around and I did not hear anything as I had given them my work phone number to contact with updates. I went back into the store to inquire.
This is when I was told “well, we got busy. He (the other tech) had to fix his personal phone. And I had to fix mine and his was taking forever. So yours will be started in the next few minutes. Literally. And will be done tonight. We close at 7, so it has to be finished before then. I’d say 6:15 or 6:30.” Annoying. But fine.
I had to go let my dog out, so I took the 35 minute drive home. By the time 6:15 rolls around, I still haven’t been contacted. So I get in my car to drive over. As I am getting onto the highway, they finally call.
“Well, we got busy. And it won’t be finished tonight. So you can leave it here overnight or come get it and bring it back.”
Since I didn’t want to drive 60+ minutes roundtrip twice, I told them to keep it and what time it should be ready in the morning.
“Well, we open at 10am , but the GM works tomorrow so it should be quick because he’s fast. So by 11:30.”
11:30 am Friday rolls around .. no contact. I call to inquire on the status. ” Oh .. yeah. It’s done. Come get it whenever. “
I don’t understand how employees are able to prioritize fixing their own phones over a PAYING CUSTOMER. Absolutely ridiculous. AND the touch screen does not work correctly now. So I will probably just get a new phone. Should’ve just gone to a different one.

The experience was alright… I dropped of an iPad for a battery swap. I was told a week for repair. After I week, I had not heard anything so I called and was told the manager is the only one to order parts and was out sick. Another week went by and I called again. They had JUST ordered the part. Two days later, they called saying they broke the home button and had to order a replacement for that. After three weeks, the iPad was finished. Not sure why others can’t order parts but that seems like a flaw in the service aspect.

IF I could leave 0 stars, I would. All I needed was my screen replaced. It was touchscreen. She replaced my screen with a mon touchscreen and then informed me that’s what she had done. I explained that my computer was a touchscreen and that’s what I would like back. She disposed of my screen and did not tell me until after the fact. When I suggested that the price should change because I didn’t get what I was quoted for and she began yelling and sending me screenshots of a Google search stating my computer’s driver is difficult to work with. I replied that she should of told me all of this before proceeding. My partner was late picking it up because she is helping my family and she went ballistic while I’m at work. The lack of professionalism and knowledge on this matter has left me disappointed and without my computer’s functions. I WILL NOT be using this “company” again.

I brought in an electronic part that needed the power supply soldered to the board. When I dropped it off, they said it would be no problem. It was the weekend and it would have to be delivered to Bloomington on that following Monday to be repaired. I called the following Wednesday to ask about the status. I was told their driver wasn’t available and they were about to bring it Bloomington that day and would have an update in 2 hrs for me. The next morning I went into the store to ask about the status (since I never received the phone call) and they said it was in Bloomington. Thats all the info they had. The next morning I got a phone call saying they can not solder the power supply to the board. I purchased a soldering kit on Amazon for $12 and did it myself.

Took my s23 plus in to have my charging port repaired. They were very polite and straightforward, which i greatly appreciated. The service was fast and friendly and the experience was great! Will be back for any other issue i may have and would recommend them to anyone who asked.

I had a problem with my Android phone. It wasn’t charging properly and the plug kept falling out. I took it to this store, he looked at it, said it looked like there was dirty inside. He took it back in his repair shop and 3 minutes later, came back and said it was fixed. I asked him how much it would be? He told me “No charge”. I couldn’t accept that, so I pulled out a $20 and gave it to him. GREAT PLACE TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH YOUR PHONE!!! He specializes in Apple.. Send him ALL OF YOUR BUSINESS!!!

My iPhone was losing charge connection when plugged in so I brought my phone in and they cleaned the port in less than 5 minutes. After tax it was $21. I’m very happy with my experience! I’ll definitely be coming back if I have anymore issues. Most affordable place around!

We definitely will not be back. I don’t think I’ve ever left a negative review before. The manager would not refund my money after they even acknowledged that they sold me a defective phone screen after paying almost $300 to have it replaced. I’ve used this Business for years which is the sad part.

I put my 16 pro max. They said it would take 45 minutes my charging port was dirty. They came back and boom screen cracked and said it cost $300! I was extremely disappointed. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

My husband brought my iPhone 14 Pro Max to get fixed with Dillan well he called us and said the approx censor was broken so he couldn’t fix it we later took it to Apple just to find out Dillan is the one who broke it. So we called him and he admitted he did then tried to charge us for the fix so come Tuesday I’m calling to see what we can get done if not they’ll be hearing from my lawyer

I had an issue with my computer failing to allow me to log in. I called Charles and he told me to bring it in right away. He tried to reset the password but to no avail. He had to reinstall my system, but did it in 45 minutes or less while I waited and watched!! Indy-Tech is the place to go- PERIOD!! He is not over priced and you get HONEST service, answers and solutions!!! I will see me every year for routine maintenance on all of my computers!!!

My desktop computer suddenly stopped connecting to the internet (either via wifi or ethernet cable), due either to a virus or a corrupted operating system. Charles at Indy-Tech was very helpful and efficient. He reformatted the hard drive and reloaded Windows and now all is well. His charges for diagnosis and reloading Windows were very reasonable and he was very polite and friendly. I will definitely use him in the future for any computer issues. Highly recommended!

I found Charles via a Google search Friday morning while trying to get my laptop fixed. I drop my laptop off at 11 and he told me to come back in an hour and a half and the virus on my computer would be taken care of.
An hour later, Charles called me and my laptop was good as new. 10/10 would recommend!
