Onyx+East

I wish I would have read more reviews before buying from Onyx. The construction met code but the customer service was anything but service. You need things fixed that they agree to fix, you better be ready to wait it out. My punch list from the purchase (March of 243) took until September to finish and the 1 year took until the end of July.
Oh and buyer be ware, if Onyx and East needs to make a sale, they will use their HOA "Board of Director" powers to approve exceptions for AirBnB companies to buy a unit. And once they are done that exception stands until the unit is sold again. I won't buy from them again.
They will probably respond to this review with words of zero substance and to that I say don't bother.

I recently purchased a home from Onyx + East and while the overall quality of construction meets expectations, there were significant communication issues that impacted our experience. We were not informed during the buying process that retaining walls would be necessary, which was a crucial detail as it changed the layout and usability of our backyard. Instead of the flat backyard with a cement walkway leading to the garage door that we anticipated, we have a tiered garden space that required a custom deck investment, while functional, was not what we envisioned or planned for.
The lack of clear communication about this significant change was disappointing. I believe that better transparency regarding property modifications would greatly improve the customer experience. Future buyers should ensure they are given comprehensive details about the layout and any changes to the property before finalizing their purchase.
After closing, we had a positive experience, particularly due to the exceptional service provided by Adam, the Warranty & Quality Assurance Manager. From the outset, Adam was responsive in promptly and thoroughly addressing any questions we had. His proactive approach in ensuring that our understood various aspects of our new home was greatly appreciated. Adam not only assisted in resolving work tickets but also provided invaluable recommendations for regular house maintenance, which have been essential for keeping our home in good condition. His tips are practical and shows his understanding and commitment to homeowner satisfaction.
We love our home!! I would recommend Onyx + East to anyone looking for a reliable builder. The professionalism and expertise of their team, especially highlighted by Adam’s dedication, made my home-buying experience enjoyable.

Onyx+East has been an outstanding builder to partner with and has been very open and supportive to suggestions to improve their product, as they are always looking to do. Working for many builders around the Indianapolis area, the quality and cleanliness of the construction is far above the average. The highlight that makes Onyx+East stand out above the others is the construction superintendent team. All are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and take pride in the product they build.

We moved into our Melange at Carmel brownstone at the end of September and couldn’t be happier with our home building experience and our decision!
