Needing copies of some documents is what led me to the library today. Even though I live in close proximity to the Fort Ben branch, I chose the Irvington Library as it was on the route to my day of errands. Seemingly an easy task, I struggled to make the copies I needed due to the extended length of the original. To my rescue came Amy from behind the Information desk. Along with assisting me and giving a quick tutorial, she made the copies I needed and even went a step further by aligning and taping my copied documents together. Much gratitude and thanks to Amy for making my visit to the Irvington Library a pleasant and goal accomplished on. All the while pleasant and with a smile.

I’m rather frustrated that the library is so browser unfriendly. If you want a specific title, you can find it easily enough with the computer, but if you’re looking to explore a topic, the aisles are very poorly labeled. And this is a problem easily remedied. I saw books on marriage and parenting in an aisle labeled “Religion”. And when I decided to search for books about religion in the same section, it took needlessly long to find the meager section that featured any religion aside from Christianity. The rest of the adult book section was predominantly dime novels with a very small section in the back featuring any classics. It can be a convenient pick up spot for ordering books from better stocked branches, though. On a positive note, the children’s section appears to be very large.

Today, several unsavory people were in the library. One was screaming on his phone . I was afraid to use the bathroom due to a mean, homeless lady in there.
I have used this library for over 20 years.
Iam thinking of a branch in Southport. I feel safer there.

Spooky... I was looking for a few episodes of Survivor, but they had zero titles available. I did find some good running books (and a couple videos).
