My mom moved into a two bedroom apartment in June 2024 and has had a great experience. They offer regular cleaning, three meals daily and the staff have been great. The only thing that keeps me from giving them five stars is the building needs some updates and refreshing. Otherwise my mom and family have been quite pleased.
I have lived in Independent Living at the Forum for a couple of months and I am really happy with my decision. I would describe the Forum atmosphere as a Community of Kindness. Both the residents and staff are so friendly and considerate, and the dining room staff (who are truly outstanding!) actually knew my name on my first day here. There are lots of activities and occasional live entertainment which has been great so far. Meals and activities are a great way to meet other residents and get to know some wonderful people, and you never have to eat alone unless you choose to. I have eaten more fruits and vegetables since I moved here and I am exercising more. The people who have lived here for a while have been very happy with their experience. Residents are at different stages in life, but you are seen as a human being and there is no judgement. And freedom from responsibilities of home ownership has been wonderful for me because I feel as though I can relax and have fun now.
We have been so happy with the Forum family since mom moved in. I researched and visited over 30 independent, assistive, & memory care facilities with my sis and niece to find the best match for moms current needs. She has only been here a month but so happy with all staff, food, activities, and facilities. The residences are kind and friendly and we feel like we have an extended family. So many kind residents and their family reaching out to our mom and us. The staff from front desk, dining, activities, housekeeping, maintenance, and so many others, have been outstanding and so helpful while she is transitioning to so much newness. The outstanding staff go out of their way to ensure she gets down for meals, find her way to activities when she seems lost, and have helped her meet new friends with common interest. The resident ambassadors group is awesome. We feel comfortable with her living at the forum as Everyone of the staff regardless of their role are hard working, sincerely kind and loving individuals who engage with the residence making them comfortable in their home. We are happy we found this new home for mom that is closer to both of us and helps us in caring for moms needs when we can't be there!
As a service provider to seniors, I have the opportunity to interact with many different senior communities. I have collaborated with the staff at The Forum to serve several seniors who were transitioning from home into The Forum. All the residents I know there have been very happy with their decision to live there. The staff is fabulous, and always puts the residents first in all their dealings. The Sales Dir, Stephanie, is a top-notch caring professional, and always treats people with the utmost respect. I recommend The Forum very highly. FIVE STARS!!
My father moved into Memory Care in 2009 and my mother moved into an apartment at The Forum at about the same time. The staff in Memory Care was amazing at how quickly they got to know Dad's personality. Mom and I spent a lot of time with Dad and got to know the staff and other residents there. There was always an open line of communication with the staff and they were responsive to our needs. Mom quickly integrated into the social life of apartment living and stayed very active. I enjoyed visiting with her, participating in activities, especially happy hour! The staff in independent living was amazing. They provided an individualized continuum of care for Mom until she moved to Memory Care. When that time came I was so happy to see that although it had been a number of years since Dad was in Memory Care, much of the staff was the same, and it was comforting that many of them already knew my mom. Many of my friends' parents have moved into retirement homes and assisted living, and as I hear of the problems they have encountered, I am grateful for my family's experience with The Forum.
We had to arrange a place for our dad almost a year ago. The Forum has been wonderful helping him make the transition from living in his own home to being at The Forum . He loves his apartment, the staff is always friendly, there is always something engaging going on that the residents find interesting, and he enjoys the food. It was such a relief to find a place where he is safe and that he enjoys.
I became the only caregiver for a relative almost 3 years ago on very short notice. I had helped my aunt and uncle move to The Forum near the end of his life a couple of years previous, and knew the facility to be well managed, clean and accommodating. When faced with the urgent need to get my relative placed somewhere immediately, the manager Rita went above & beyond to accommodate him & his precious little dog. When it shortly became apparent that independent living was not viable, she helped me make the move for him to memory care. He has been there since and as expected had to adjust to not having his dog with him or being in his own home. But we were able to move his own things in and the head nurse Christina, nurse Angela, "maintenance guru" Smokey & all the staff have made numerous accommodations to his "take charge" personality to make him feel at home. Now when I visit, he tells me regularly how happy he is! This is such a wonderful thing to hear from someone with dementia, when as caregiver, you struggle with knowing if you are doing what’s best for your charge. I have even recently utilized the location for respite care for another loved one I care for. This is a great place to live whether independently, and in need of more, and obviously one I won’t hesitate to utilize for myself if, or when, the time comes!
