Stuttering and Speech Therapy Services

We could not be more excited about the progress our son has made since seeing Dana Stewart at Stuttering and Speech Therapy! He had been receiving services somewhere else for years with little progression and after he began seeing Dana we saw tremendous improvement. The school was so impressed at his advancement over the summer by seeing Dana. We love that Dana is truly invested in our son's goals and gears therapy sessions to the needs of our son while keeping him engaged. She is an incredible partner to us as parents and is always willing to collaborate with our other service providers to ensure our son reaches is full potential. She is amazing! We feel so lucky to have found her!

I contacted Dana in regards to my increasing concerns regarding my son’s speech. She was able to quickly return my call, discuss over the phone my questions/concerns and schedule an evaluation/assessment within a week from our phone call. Dana is very knowledgeable and made me and my son feel at ease during the evaluation process. She went over in detail the results and recommendations. He is becoming more secure and confident each session. He also enjoyed the outing scheduled for peers his age at a doughnut game cafe. I am very thankful to have found Dana with Stuttering and Speech Therapy Services.

Our experience was fantastic! Dana was my child's SLP. She is thoughtful, thorough, and genuinely cares for her patients. She was a collaborative partner, ensuring all treatment planning included her expert advice, my thoughts and observations, and my child's goals and perspectives. Though my son is now discharged, she will remain an important resource to us!

I work as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school district and although I have the know-how regarding fluency I found it was completely different working with my own child than one of my students. There was so much frustration on both ends and I knew I needed to step back into my "mom" role rather than therapist. When I decided to seek private therapy, I knew Dana was the one to call. As a professional, I had received only positive feedback from families who had worked with her. Now, with my son as one of her clients and I can absolutely attest that she is the best around in the field of stuttering. She has been and continues to be so helpful to our family. She is so knowledgeable and each session we soak up all of her feedback. My son also participates in a monthly community group with her along with similar aged peers who also stutter. Dana is amazing! I’ve struggled with a stutter all my life and have been afraid to confront it for a long time. When I finally decided to reach out, Dana was a great listener and very sympathetic. Throughout our sessions, she not only helped with speaking strategies but also discussed the effect my stutter has had on different aspects of my life. She always left the choice of what I wanted to focus on to me, as she understands the importance of individualized treatment. After doing speech therapy with Dana, my self confidence has increased and I don’t feel like my stutter has control over my life anymore. This was all due to Dana’s guidance, strategies, kindness, and care.

My son went to Dana for over a year and he made no progress with his stuttering. It wasn't clear what we should be doing at home with him, which didn't impress me, as stuttering is something that kids need help with finding the best coping tools at all times. I am not doing online sessions with someone in Ohio that has made tremendous progress with him.
