Very good and large museum for all ages of children. It’s interactive and knowledge sharing for children. It’s great place to take your children here. You must have enough time in hand to see indoor as well as out door facilities. Nicely made museum.

From the second you see the gigantic dinosaur cracking the building open from the car, it is an amazing experience. Every floor is absolutely packed with amazing exhibits. Things for children and parents, nostalgia at its best. On top of the amazing and beautiful exhibits, they have so many things for little children to do. The playscape is a life saver for kids who need to get some energy out. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They are so open to nursing mothers and mothers with small babies in general when it comes to feeding, relaxing, changing. 100/10 recommend. I’d go even if I didn’t have kids with me.

My family has always wanted to try this museum but the timing never worked out until yesterday! We went on a summer weekday when some Indiana schools were already in session. We went with 4 adults and three kids ages 4, 9 & 11. We bought tickets in advance and parked in the free covered lot. Entry was a breeze and my kids immediately found activities to interest them. We ate at the museum and the food was good (better than many other museums) and very good choices. Prices seemed fine. We were busy from 11-3 and then had to leave but missed two floors! I think my 11yo might be aging out but anyone into sports or solving mysteries would still love it! I would go back! The special Peru exhibit was our favorite, followed by the sports area and the Rube Goldberg Machine.

The Children’s museum is listed as one of the best in the nation. Some aspects of that claim I could definitely agree with. Other aspects left me wondering how they got the recognition. With that being said, the outdoor area is phenomenal. The dinosaur area, pretty fantastic. It felt like certain areas of the building were afterthoughts. Our kids had a great time and that’s the most important part. If you are familiar with the Denver Children’s museum or Portland’s Children’s Museum, those are better in my opinion. I do recommend that if you’re in the area that you check it out if you have the time, but I don’t think I’d make it a must see place in Indy.

Wonderful adventure!
First, I was kind of shocked at the cost of admission. As an IN resident on a Monday, it was $98 for me and my 2 children to get in. Once inside, I was much more understanding! I’ll be applying our admission today towards a membership! 5 levels (LL, and 1-4) plus the 7+ acres of outdoor fun!
The take-a-break room was fantastic for us when we got sensory overload from the lights and noise and people, specifically after lunch. Speaking of which… cost me $52 for 2 slices of pizza ($6.75 each), 2 breadsticks ($5.50), a salad ($16!), and 3 fountain drinks ($16.85). I expected some fairly high prices but the $16 for a salad and the same price for 3 fountain drinks threw me for a loop. Next time, we’ll head out for lunch and come back.
Overall, though, the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are worn out. If you’re planning to do all of it in 1 day… don’t. We arrived at 11:30 am and at 4:41 pm. We really rushed through after lunch when we realized we still had 2 levels and the outdoor area to still get to. They do offer “second day” passes for cheaper than general admission, but that would’ve still been another $50 for the 3 of us. With the bottom-tier family membership at $225, 2 visits and it’s basically paid for itself!

If I was rating just the outside area I would give it 5 stars, the outdoor sports area is incredible! Some of the exhibits inside are really nice but many or extremely screen heavy. I have been to tons of children’s museums all over the country and most have more stuff the kids can play with and more around. This had lots of kiosks and decor. The parking was free and the place is big so those are a plus. Indiana residents get $3 off per ticket.

My boys ages 7 and 5 absolutely love going here. We can spend all day here from open to close. There’s something for both of them no matter what their interest is at the time. The children’s museum is always updating its exhibits so there’s always something new when we go. It’s clean, and the staff is very friendly. It’s educational and keeps there attention which is such a big win! 10/10 Great way to get the littles up and moving. My boys sleep so well after we tackle all 4 floors!! Will be returning!!

What’s not to love about the Indianapolis Zoo?

Having a membership for two years now, my family has fully experienced all the finest parts of the zoo over and over again.

The membership pays for itself after only two visits a year, and we’ve gone at least 10-12 times each year. From ZooBoo to Christmas at the Zoo are the iconic ones, but the times during the weekdays when there are no field trips or herds of children are the best for my part-time home wife.

My daughter has fed giraffes, pet kangaroos, had her face painted and ate Dippin’ Dots on her birthday, rode the train, watched dolphins splash her, gave high-fives at the plexiglass at the orangutangs, smelled flowers, asked why Flamingos are pink, and almost has a visual map in her head of the entire park.

Have I mentioned she just turned three years old?

My son is 9 months old, and he’s had a handful of times already at the zoo, and the amount of experiences the zoo has provided has sustained into our home with imagination zookeeping, making animal noises, reading out of picturebooks her favorite zoo animals, and instead of “Old MacDonald had a farm” it is now “Old MacDonald had a zoo!”.

As a former educator for 15 years, I have witnessed students who have had experiences outside of the home greatly enrich their education and their overall social capital. Having my daughter exposed to so much of the world in the middle of the heartland of Indiana, through the Indianapolis Zoo, I know that she will find her passions in helping conserve and create a better world for the next generations with the education she’s learning here. I am inspired to continue inviting her into these spaces, and I look forward to seeing the wanderlust my son will have for these escapades to the jungle and prairie and everywhere in the park.

If I could give 10 Google reviews with 5-stars, I would give so much emphasis on how essential it is to get a membership, show up and provide the story of the Indianapolis Zoo to embed into your children, and watch them become fuller with each visit.

And you, as the parent of course, can have unlimited soft drinks while you mosey!

I’ve been to a handful of zoos in my life. The Indianapolis Zoo is my favorite that I’ve been to. The layout made for a wonderful experience as we moved from one exhibit to another. I also think the gardens and foliage planted along all the exhibits really added to it.

We went on a Wednesday in the middle of August. Crowds were light which made for an easy viewing of all exhibits. All the animals were active. Watched the cheetahs chase each other around. Then we were lucky to see them get feed raw meat by the zoo keepers. The dolphin show was fun. The tropical bird and butterfly enclosures were awesome to walk through.

I’d highly recommend making this zoo a destination if you visit Indianapolis.

Hands down, middle of the week mornings are the best time to go. The Zoo has made so many improvements, and is looking amazing. With that comes the constant construction. However, its is 100% worth the minor inconvenience. If this is your first time considering the Zoo, DO IT ! Definitely top of the list things to do with the kiddos. The outdoor event center is absolutely stunning, and provides an abundance of shade for relaxing under.

We bought a grandparents pass and took our kids, granddaughter and friends! We all had a blast! The dolphin show was fantastic. We live so close we’ll be back many times. Especially for Zooboo & Christmas!

This is a well laid-out zoo with plenty of indoor portions for animal exhibits so you can cool off in air conditioning. While my party really enjoyed that, we were sorely disappointed with the train ride. We specifically asked if we would see animals and were told yes. That is not true. You will see the street around the outside of the zoo and chain link fence surrounding the zoo. I included a picture of a parking lot which is what you will see on the train ride. The tracks literally go around the outside perimeter of the zoo. It was extremely disappointing and a complete waste of $20 for our party. Other than that, we absolutely loved the zoo. There are a wide variety of animals to see, and they are well cared for. This was one of the most pleasant zoos I have ever visited.

The staff and concessions people were extremely nice and courteous. If you wanted it to eat or drink, they had it. Food tasted amazing. Will definately be coming back!!

Great experience all around. Looking for a inexpensive way to take your kids somewhere come here. Pack a cooler with anything except glass products. Everyone around the track is helpful and knowledgeable about track history and how to do there jobs perfectly.

Wonderful experience! Easy to order tickets online with your timing when you would like to go. We ordered it 2 hours before but I am sure you could just walk in. It was clean, easy to grasp the whole museum and we got to see two cars on the track. It is an interactive museum for all ages.

Visiting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was a great experience for us. We loved the atmosphere and the stadium. The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions.

The facilities are well-maintained, and the Speedway also offers museum tours and track experiences.

The tours are well worth it—even if you aren’t into racing.

Our first Indy 500. We were blown away. What a great time. Everything was like a well oiled . . well, a well oiled engine! Getting into park, getting inside the raceway and to our seats. Fantastic staff there to help out.

If car racing can be classy, the Indy 500 is it. Indiana should be so proud of this event it! Family oriented. I can’t believe how fast these cars go.

We hope to come see again as it was so much fun. We cross3d 8t off our bucket list and then put it back on the list.

Very interesting for a race fan. Lots to look at with three stories of memorable items. I would highly suggest taking the bus tour up to the winners podium.

We planned our adventure to the Hangar to celebrate my daughter and her boyfriend’s 21st Birthdays! The entire experience was above all expectations! We went to ride the pedal bar (which was fantastic! So much better than we even thought it would be!) but really enjoyed just hanging in The Hangar! From the moment we arrived Erin, better known as E, was friendly and engaging and so much fun!! We got some phenomenal drinks and those scrumptious Spare Tires to take on our ride! We then pedaled our butts all over the city and stopped at a few hot spots, one I never even knew was there, 16-bit! So fun!! We went down to the bottleworks district and then finally back to the Hangar to Hang! We had more drinks and some Pizza, fried pickles and of course, more fantastic Spare Tires! Those things are so good we would drive back down today to have more for Dinner!! Carlos our bartender and E made the evening a smashing success! We played games, met new people and genuinely loved every minute of it! We cannot recommend this experience enough! Everyone in the group is looking forward to the next experience on the pedal bar and in the mean time we will definitely be back for those Spare Tires!!

First time attending a game in Indianapolis as an away fan and, tailgating at the hanger is the best bang for your buck. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and provided a safe atmosphere for football fans of all backgrounds. It’s located directly across from Lucas oil stadium. You can’t beat the game day specials and games and activities that they offer. My friend and I were raving about this place to the fans tailgating in the parking lot so much they thought we were being paid to do so. That couldn’t be further from the truth. They made two New Yorkers feel right at home. Would highly recommend. Will return.

Right from the beginning, I noticed the fun atmosphere. I ordered some appetizers to take and share on the ride that Were a huge hit! Very yummy! Service at the bar is super friendly and fun.
Unfortunately, it was a rainy night, but our Host Noah made it fun! Many times we would forget The rain coming down. We let him choose our stops. I did not let us down, choosing some great bars!

Overall, it was a great night! We would definitely come back!

I always love coming to the hanger, especially before Pacer’s games. My fiancé and I actually went here to celebrate my engagement a year ago! We love the staff. I just recently went on the bikes and had an INCREDIBLE time. It’s a must if you’re in the area!

A group of friends and I went out on the handlebar tour and we had the best time! Our driver Benji was so fun and really took our experience to another level. We can’t wait to go again and already plan on requesting Benji for our next ride!

We booked a HandleBar private tour and I would say all of our friends had a blast!! Our tour guide Noah was absolutely amazing. He was extremely outgoing & just overall amazingly chill.
We love the new games they implemented which should be kept but may not be for every crowd so I would determine that during the ride which group would enjoy it. However, for our group it was super fun.
The first bar we went to was some type of Arcade bar which was amazing. Our group would have rather stayed longer at that particular bar vs the last bar but still enjoyed our time.
The hangar mixed drinks were hit or miss. a few loved it, a few stated it was a little week for them for the price. I did drink one to myself and would agree it isn’t strong but it did give me a little feel good.
The seats were a little rough and most of us were a little uncomfortable in the butt region the following day.
We ended the night back at the Hangar with the 7 foot pizza. We had such a large group that the pizza was not big enough for all of us and was interested in purchasing the 7 foot nachos as well but was unable to do so. I was extremely disappointed in that part as online it does say “7 foot pizza or 7 foot nachos or… enjoy both” but there wasn’t a both option during booking nor on the menu.
I was a little disappointed that the golf room was closed when we got back. I was really looking forward to it when we got back but it is what it is.
However, overall we enjoyed ourselves & are already planning our next private tour. Just hoping on the next booking with as many people we have the option to do both nachos and pizza.

Not a long visit here but I did stay downtown just to get the chance to see and experience the architectural beauty. Surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops fits my liking. Unfortunately there is construction work going on during this review. But you can still experience this master peace. At night they play Taps to honor the fallen. Parking in this city can be a bit challenging. There are parking garage all around. Do spend some time seeing this. I understand that this is only 15 ft shorter than the statue of liberty.

Amazing part of the city. Driving through the city stayed the night and got up early to walk around and it was so dead and quiet I loved it. Worth going out of your way, if you can find somewhere to park and don’t mind walking a bit.

The Indianapolis Canal Walk is a scenic and historic 3-mile promenade in downtown Indianapolis, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the city’s hustle and bustle. The canal was a lot of fun! There’s plenty of space to walk, and you can rent all kinds of stuff such as multi-person bikes, paddle boats, and canoes. If you take a paddle boat, it’s about a mile one way or around 30 minutes the other. Along the way, you get some nice views of the sights around the canal.

Gorgeous area. I really enjoyed exploring the city by way of the canal walk. Lots to see and do. Museums located along canal, paddle boats, gondola rides, parks, etc.

Absolutely perfect place to take a stroll in the morning. Relaxing, quiet, clean, just a few people and some ducks!

This place was simply stunning as a venue. Before the show even started I was enthralled by the architecture and flourishes in the ceiling and windows. The lighting, acoustics and sheer opulence of this space makes it well worth coming back to see any show.

This is such a beautiful place as you can see from my pictures & video below! I’ve been following the Candlelight fever concerts since I found them while living in the Dayton, Ohio area 2 years ago.
I was mesmerized and thoroughly enjoyed listening to them play! I’ve wanted to visit the Scottish Rite Cathedral for quite some time now so I am glad I went & checked it out. I did purchase my tickets online ahead of time, actually I’ve had them for quite awhile now. This particular concert was featuring ‘Coldplay’! Very talented people!! Great job to all of you for putting on one heckuva great performance tonight!

Bought tickets to see Candlelight: A Tribute to Coldplay and had an amazing time. The atmosphere and orchestra brought me to tears. With no wait time to be seated, staff being very friendly and helpful; I definitely recommend and am looking forward to coming again.

A very informative tour. Parking is easy and free. Took about one hour, but not a minute to be bored. We then returned that evening for a candlelight concert. Great experience. I would recommend it to anyone. The history of the building architecture is a marvel.

This was our first Candlelight concert and we absolutely loved it. I took my boys who are 11 and 14 and they can’t wait to come to more events.

The team at Scottish Rite Cathedral is splendid, which is why I love offering SRC as an option for my couples. It is an incredible venue with great service, fabulous architecture and warm hospitality. I love when my clients select Scottish Rite.

Among the over 20 state and provincial capitol buildings we’ve toured, Indiana’s is a definite top-tier favorite. Our guided tour was exceptional, largely due to Pat’s excellent knowledge and engaging presentation of both history and government insights—a true credit to the state. The tour provided unique access to areas not open to the public.
The grounds are immaculate, adorned with beautiful gardens, statues, and historical markers (though expect some construction on the north side). Inside, the building is monumental, featuring stunning architecture, sculptures, woodwork, stained glass, and skylights.
If you’re in Indianapolis, this is a must-visit!

We had a good time walking around the downtown and exploring the capitol. We did a self guided tour and enjoyed the architecture and artwork throughout. The senate and house chambers were no open but looking through the windows they weren’t very impressive. More modern than most Capitols but lacking any character and impressive craftsmanship.

Getting married at the Indiana Statehouse on April 7, 2024, was an absolute dream come true! The venue is stunning with its grand spaces and elegant atmosphere. The service provided was exceptional, and the staff were incredibly helpful every step of the way. It truly exceeded all our expectations for a perfect wedding day. Highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to create magical memories in a beautiful setting!

I recently photographed a wedding here and everything was perfect. They had so much space with plenty of lighting and were very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend it!

Historical and great place, if you visit Indianapolis you should go there as first station.

I enjoy touring state capitol buildings when I travel. We went through security & got a self guided tour pamphlet at the tour desk. I did call up in advance to check if they have guided tours, unfortunately they did not have one when we planned. I would recommend a guided tour, as it gets you in to the house and senate chambers. I did some research before visiting the capitol so was able to relate things.

A very nice capitol building with ornate interior. It is beautiful and well maintained. The interior is modeled in the Italian Renaissance style with doors made of Indiana oak and Indiana limestone used throughout the structure. The pinnacle of the building is 256 feet high, it was the second tallest building in Indiana at the time of its completion.

The four-story building is designed in the shape of a cross. A large central rotunda with a glass domed ceiling connects the four wing. The interior is marked by beautifully intricate blue stained glass dome, marble floors, granite columns, an ornate balcony, and period wall and ceiling designs. It was remarkable and best viewed from the upper floor.

The Indiana Capitol is one of the few where all three branches of government still meet in the Capitol! There are stairs/or elevators to all the levels and each floor is different. The first floor houses the governor’s office and the offices of the administration. Enjoyed walking around the third and fourth floors taking in the architecture and viewing the various chambers through the windows since they were not open for access.

We saw the statues of past presidents and other public art structures surround the building. It’s worth a visit learning something about history. This was one of the beautiful state houses I have been to and also one of the state house that didn’t explain much about their rich history.

We wouldn’t have known much about their history if I did not do research prior visiting. We couldn’t get much information on the two page pamphlet they provided. Also there was no attendant in the tour desk so no information was provided about anything. Comparatively I felt they didn’t care about their visitors, so three stars. The entrance was not stroller friendly. There is paid parking and metered street parking around the building.

This is a very nice building and is worth checking out if you’re visiting indianapolis. Great place to photograph and look around. There’s lots of cool sculptures and statues as well.

Indianapolis, Indiana, an amazing beautiful place looking forward visiting more

I’ve been to downtown Indy twice while visiting Indianapolis. It’s such a lively place to be. It’s open till late night on weekends (not sure about weekdays) with a variety of shops all around. Very well lit too. There’s a Soldiers and Sailors monument in the center, a very tall tower of historic importance, which is surrounded by clean and beautiful waterfalls. There are lit up ball shaped horse carriages that move around the monument. Very picturesque and romantic. A must visit if you’re in town.

Walked a short distance, but it looks nice.

I love downtown Indy but parking can be difficult sometimes.

I felt relatively safe, and was able to travel by foot with ease. Not impressed with lack of public transport, but no worse than most US cities. Some lovely historical buildings and a variety of interesting local businesses, as well as familiar chains. If you need a restroom, you may be looking for a long while before finding one open to the public.

⭐️Indiana State Capitol Building – Indianapolis⭐️

The Indiana State Capitol is a stunning and historic landmark, perfect for both guided and self-guided tours. Despite some ongoing renovations, the building’s architecture remains a standout—elegant, elaborate, and truly grand. We were impressed by how well-preserved and accessible it is, even with scaffolding around the dome.

The interior offers an informative experience, and the grounds are peaceful for a stroll. One unexpected highlight was learning about the tunnels beneath the building that connect to parts of the city—a fun hidden gem!

We visited on a weekday and experienced no wait time, which made for a relaxed, crowd-free experience. If you’re in downtown Indianapolis, this stop is a must for history buffs, architecture lovers, or anyone who enjoys a good walk with a touch of civic pride.

Renovation note: The dome is under restoration, but it doesn’t significantly detract from the visit—in fact, it’s interesting to see history being preserved in real time!

We had an amazing tour at 10:00 today. We joined the tour with a class room 4th graders, who were extremely well behaved and really showed an interest in learning about the Capitol. The tour guide was excellent. Very informative. The tour was over an hour. Highly recommend.

Beautiful building! The tour was brilliant, they take you into working chambers to see ‘behind the scenes’ kinda things. Well worth a visit and if youre there as about the next tour.

The building is absolutely beautiful for touring or just walking around. We love visiting state capitals, and this one pleasantly surprised us—it exceeded our expectations!

There are guided tours available at specific times, but we opted for a self-guided tour. The architecture is incredibly elaborate, and it must serve a variety of events and functions due to the size.

The highlight for us was the network of tunnels underneath, which connect to various parts of the city. If you’re in the area, this place is definitely worth a visit!

What an amazing place to visit if you love history and architecture. This city is cleaner than I thought and the capital is an awesome place to walk around and take everything in. The grounds are beautiful. Highly recommend. I did not go inside, just walked around the outside. I can imagine the inside being just as beautiful.

Decided to do the self tour; loved being free to walk around, see folks at work, enjoy the architecture and read the many many plaques.
