Mike

I took a tour of the Marquette facility in anticipation of my mom’s future needs. This place is hands-down the best of the best. It’s far superior to the other senior residential facilities I have visited. The individual apartments are really nicely appointed with high-end finishes. All of the public spaces are beautiful, beautiful billiard room, and dining facilities, and beautiful pool and exercise areas.

Marquette is such a special place to call home! I had the privilege of helping seniors move out of their house and into Marquette and saw them welcomed with warm smiles from staff and fellow residents! Their renovations are beautiful and were so thoughtfully planned out for maximum enjoyment of social time with friends and family! I’m so excited for the future growth of this vibrant community and can’t wait to help others make their perfect move!

Marquette has an excellent multi decade reputation for a reason. From the gorgeous campus to the full continuum of care, excellent food options, robust calendar of activities, beautiful apartment choices, to a dedicated and tenured staff, it is all quite impressive. Despite all of the wonderful amenities what will really give you a lasting impression when you visit Marquette is the engaging and happy residents. Nothing can compare to residents stopping you in the hallway or one of the many common areas to tell you how much they love living there.

Our team at Indy Real Estate Experts absolutely loves moving and resettling clients into Marquette b/c we know they’re moving into a beautiful community. We know our clients will be welcomed and received with open arms from both the residents and the team at Marquette! We are very appreciative of our working relationship with the community and will continue recommending our downsizing clients to Marquette as their new home.

I did a Chuy’s delivery for a meeting they had. This is such a beautiful place! I was first created by the security gate staff who was so friendly and welcoming, he directed me to exactly where I needed to go. Walking into the building was a delightful vibe, clean, esthetics were perfect, smelled amazing and amazing staff who greeted me with a welcoming warm smile! I’ve been in several elderly care places for family members and I would definitely say this is a place that you would compare to the fanciest hotel!

Marquette Manor is a beautiful, well maintained campus. The nursing staff is exceptional. They are knowledgeable, and treat all the residents as their own. Most of the staff have been there for many years, which is a testament to great leadership. The supportive staff also shows love to the residents, and welcome guests. It is an all around wonderful, positive environment to be in.

Ran into what I think was a maintenance man and he was very rude. He almost knocked me over while I was visiting my aunt and did not say excuse me. He just kept walking. I’m not sure what kind of people are being hired here, but this is not my first experience with a rude person here.

I still like the automated check-in, & the cleanliness of the facility, & the decor. I also like that my mother receives prompt feedback from management. Her concerns are addressed expeditiously. I really love the lay out of the one bedroom apartments, & my mother really likes their food. My mother just recently had a setback. The Director of Nursing used her clinical skills, & it kept my mother at the facility versus going to the Emergency Room. Thank you for taking such great care of my mother!

It is clean and well decorated. The individual calming rooms are nice. The staff are all nice and friendly. I like that the TV room and the dinning rooms are separate. The rooms can accommodate a queen bed and a recliner with room to walk.

Greenbriar is a very nice building. It is clean and smells good. The staff is friendly, especially Latoya. The residents are active and seem happy. The rooms are a good size. Overall, it’s a nice place. I’d let my loved one move in here in a heartbeat.

Greenbriar Village is a wonderful place! My mother has lived in assisted living and now memory care for over seven years! The current staff are some of the most caring people I have ever met! I feel so happy and relieved that my mom is being cared for in such a great place by so many awesome people. Anytime an issue arises they are quick to remedy the situation. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the staff. I would highly recommend Greenbriar to anyone looking for a loving and caring place to place a parent.

Our Mother was living in their Memory Care facility. She got great compassionate care. I enjoyed the staff and the patients. She is currently in a terrible Rehab facility. We’re going to be so sad to not take her back here if she has to have a modified diet. Unfortunately Greenbriar doesn’t do thickened liquids or puréed foods.

My mother has lived here for 9 years and I can honestly say I have never seen a roach in her apartment. If there is a bug, they spray immediately. She is very happy there and the daily staff that interact with her are very friendly and caring. The staff listens and tries to troubleshoot issues. They kept her safe during Covid. It's not perfect and the food is not very good but they are working hard to improve. I'm hearing building renovations are starting soon.

(CAUTION) DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!! I brought my mom here in May of this year and it’s been nothing but problems! I’ve visited her on multiple occasions with new bruises and wounds popping up, malnourished, not clean and with bed sores which means she’s being neglected! The administrator Brock is very uneducated and careless. He once told me "if you want better care then maybe you should take her else where" which is very unprofessional! The only good thing about this place is the activity director Kristian which is awesome by the way! But that doesn’t make up for everything they have put my mother through. Save the headaches and lawsuits people and take them somewhere better!

My experience with Majestic Care of Southport has been overwhelmingly positive. From the moment I walked through the doors, the staff made me feel welcomed, supported, and cared for. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to provide a safe and comfortable environment for residents. The nursing and caregiving teams are truly exceptional. They are not only knowledgeable and attentive, but they also treat residents with genuine kindness and dignity. Communication with families is consistent, compassionate, and transparent, which gives tremendous peace of mind.

5 Stars – Exceptional Care and Compassion I can’t say enough positive things about Majestic Care of Southport. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness. The staff truly goes above and beyond to ensure residents feel comfortable, valued, and well-cared for. The facility itself is clean, organized, and has a peaceful atmosphere that feels like home. The nursing staff is attentive, professional, and always willing to answer questions, giving families peace of mind. They provide excellent medical care while still treating residents with dignity and respect. What really stood out to me was the compassion shown by the entire team. Whether it was assisting with daily needs, encouraging social activities, or just offering a kind smile, they consistently showed genuine care. If you’re looking for a facility that combines skilled care with heartfelt compassion, Majestic Care of Southport is a wonderful choice. I’m incredibly grateful for the care they provide and highly recommend them to anyone seeking quality long-term or short-term care for their loved one.

I'm writing this review as I come to see my brother whose been a resident here for a year now. I am looking for a new place with a dementia unit or I would've pulled him out of here by now . I come here during the week and this place is a ghost town!! No management is here at 4:30 pm during the week or at all on weekends. I overheard staff saying the director in this facility give bonuses to employees who write a 5 star review on their behalf. A facility should receive a review based on TRUE MERIT. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU PLACE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!! They should be helping improve the nursing home with more employees and better food than paying staff to write reviews. Sure the staff is going to give their job 5 stars..

Majestic Care of Southport exemplifies excellence in patient care through its highly professional and compassionate team. The staff is dedicated to providing individualized treatment with the utmost respect and dignity, ensuring each resident receives attentive, expert care. Their commitment to clear communication, clinical expertise, and personalized support fosters an environment of trust, healing, and comfort for both residents and their families I was able to be a part of an Outing with Manager Broc Bennett, taking two of the residence to a pacer game. Broc took time out of his own evening to take these two guys out, and the two guys had the time of their lives. I would highly recommend Majestic Care of Southport for anybody who is looking for this kind of kindness and professionalism.

The Plaza is a magnificent destination for seniors who demand only the highest standards in senior living – an award winning kitchen with sumptuous options, buildings safely and securely tucked away from the hustle and bustle of mainstream life, and a community of residents with open arms and hearts to new residents, while still respecting resident’s personal needs and privacy. Whether you seek a cozy and private but fully independent style of living, or a comfortable, serene apartment where you receive a bit of help around the edges, the Plaza offers both, and in conjunction with the adjacent Life Care Center. Residents can easily enjoy life here, in its many stages, without needing to leave good friends behind or transfer to a foreign new environment. I cannot more highly recommend the Westside Garden Plaza, where seniors call «home».

My mother-in-law lived in WSG for 8 years and now my mother has lived there for 3 years. Driving up to the place shows off its beautiful setting and landscaping. It is always very well cared for. And upon entering any of the sections, it has always been clean and classy. In addition, the employees have always treated both mothers and us with care and concern. During the past 19 months they have worked hard to respect resident’s autonomy yet made efforts to keep everyone safe. They have followed public health guidelines but allowed flexibility. My mother has friends in the community, has joined committees where she has a voice in change, enjoys card groups and day trips, and appreciates the beautiful gardens outside her windows. My compliments to the admin and staff of this well run retirement living community.

It was a tough but necessary decision for my mom to be here in skilled care. We interviewed several places and chose Westminster. The staff and administrators are so kind and caring. This is a tough job at any level; we so appreciate the good care our mom receives here from the aides to the nurses to the administration.

Visited my aunt. The facility is beautiful, clean and smells healthy. The hostesses are helpful and friendly. However find the nurses in one wing was not interested in attending to a resident in a wheelchair chair whose head was leaned back and appeared unconscious. I observed the resident at the early part of my visit and 2 hours later, the resident still had not moved. Head still back, still not conscious. The nurse station is clearly visible to the resident. None of the nurses seemed concerned even when I asked about the resident. After remaining in the same position, should be quite uncomfortable in the neck region.

I noticed that a lot of the recent reviews are from staff. I moved my loved one out of this facility per recommendation from an ER doctor who told me, "in good conscience, I cannot let her leave the hospital and go back to her apartment in Westminster." The staff negligence, disregard for client needs and safety was appalling. Two CNAs dropped my mom, and did not record the incident. Instead she suffered for days before finally going to the hospital because I called the ambulance. Another CNA yelled at my mom and left her alone in the shower alone for over 15 min, and my mom cannot ambulate alone. The administrative and social workers did nothing to address issues; instead they just wanted to move my 1-assist mom to skilled nursing and charge more.

David Scherb

The staff is trying hard, but, like most of the residents here, the facility is aging and in need of repair. Charging high rates for accommodations means the accommodations should rate high as well. The areas need to be maintained, damaged areas need repairs, and dirty areas need to be cleaned. No one wants to keep their elderly relatives in a home that's not at least as nice as the one their infirmities forced them out of. No one can afford to be in a facility like this if they don't have the means.

The Harrison ranks higher than a 10 especially in comparison to my former home. My apartment is beautiful, clean and bright. I feel so at home with smiles and pride showing from the staff members and residents. The entire staff from Carmen, Jessica, Lisa, Nate, Nursing Supervisor, QMA that I knew from another facility seeing your welcoming face was the extra that I needed, Ms T, my QMAS and CNAs that helped me quickly get over my PTSD from my former AL, the Dining Room staff from their supervisor and the staff and their food is soooooooo good, perfect portions tasty, healthy and balanced. OMG, and the housekeepers welcome is so appreciated.. Again the food is sooooo good and I can always find something great to eat. Everyone is so helpful with smiles and welcomes from the front desk to the dining room and I’ve only been here a week and the amenities get better every day. They treat you the way I deserve to be treated. With PT and OT in house. I have everything I need here. The Harrison is such a beautiful building and the people that work here are exceptional and put love in their performance. I love my new forever home. ❤️

There’s stuff there has safety and well-being of their guests and tenants at the very forefront of their day-to-day operations. I can’t say enough good things about these people. There was a time I came in to see my mother and they had a fall belt around her and were helping her so she would not fall. I did not encourage her to try to do too much by herself without assistance, that works regularly with the rehabilitation team to build her strength back up. Nothing bad about this place at all, good staff, good management, great facility directors. From my heart thank you all for what you’re doing and have done, for me and my mother.

I wouldn’t even give one star. However, I have too. The rehab and long term care side are gross. Beyond dirty. They run out of clean lines all the time. Had staff yell at our loved one. Let them lay in urine for hrs. The even i went in and had to call 911 for our loved one was awful. QMA couldn’t answer simple questions. She got nasty when i asked symple questions. Couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone when I call in an emergency situation ( evening time). When i arrive staff at the nursing station eating and talking on personal phone calls. Had a Nurse tell me the CNAs all complained about caring for our loved one. Found another resident one the floor. She was by herself in the dinning room. I the family helped the nurse get her off the floor. The night I called 911. I looked at both nurses and said would you of left you mom in tgis situation? They both said No. So if you wouldn’t leave your mom here then why should I leave my loved one? I will come back and add pictures I took and how i would find our loved one. If I didn’t personal give our loved one a shower they wouldn’t of gotten one. Times where food wasn’t given. Another family member witnessed staff yell at our loved one. Called the DON. The one time I actually got to speak to her, I asked if she would like to see the pictures. She said No, i believe you and I am trying. End of story.

My brother was admitted from Franciscan & was doing well. He was at Rosegate for 2 weeks & his health quickly declined. Call lights went unanswered once resulting in a fall. He became very confused & was in bad shape & my concerns fell on deaf ears. He left Rosegate 2-1-26 & was immediately taken to Franciscan Health where he was diagnosed with severe dehydration & COVID. Pure negligence in Rosegate ‘s part. Never let a loved one, or any living creature, set foot in this dump.

Forrest Creek Village in Indianapolis is truly an exceptional nursing and rehabilitation facility. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth and professionalism of the entire team. The staff is compassionate, attentive, and genuinely cares about each resident’s well-being and dignity. The nursing team is responsive and knowledgeable, always taking the time to answer questions and provide updates. Therapy services are excellent — the therapists are encouraging, patient, and focused on helping residents regain strength and independence. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. What stands out most is the culture. Residents are treated like family, and it shows in the smiles you see in the hallways. Communication with families is clear and consistent, which brings tremendous peace of mind. I would highly recommend Forrest Creek Village to anyone looking for high-quality skilled nursing or rehabilitation care in the Indianapolis area. They truly go above and beyond.

The way ALL the staff cares here is special!!! It brings me joy when I come in and see the nurses and aides having so much compassion for the residents. Danielle the DON goes above and beyond for her residents. She has a great ADON who is the same way when it comes to her residents and their care. You can always find a resident the office of Ashley, Social Work. She visits with residents all day long. Matt, Administrator is great. He is easy to talk to about anything and he always comes through for his team and residents. Housekeeping does a great job keeping the facility clean.

I am a clinical instructor and Forest Creek is one of my clinical sites and I would like to say the facility and staff are amazing. The staff here has been very friendly and accommodating for me and my students. The care the staff provides the resident's is above reproach. They really go above and beyond for each and every resident they care for. I would like to recognize the DON Danielle and the ADON Jennifer for the amount of help they have been at making this site a great experience for my students. I would like to recognize the following nurses for being a great asset to my students, the wealth of knowledge they add to their clinical, and the care the provide the residents: Pangie, Berry, T, Cicily, and Levi. Thanks again Forest Creek staff for the opportunity and privilege of being our clinical site.

Forest Creek Village staff are simply the BEST! I am impressed daily with the CARE values that they display when caring for residents, or assisting families. Forest Creek Village is an older building, but what it lacks in newer amenities it definitely makes up for in the care provided!

My husband was there for over 5 months. They took great care of him. All the staff was very nice to us. When he was passing they provided us a room where we could be with him. I would recommend this facility to anyone needing memory care. Thank you all so much.

Frequently asked questions about nursing homes in Indianapolis

What services do nursing homes typically offer?

Nursing homes in Indianapolis provide a range of services designed to support individuals who require assistance with daily living activities. These typically include skilled nursing care, such as medication management and wound care, as well as personal care services like bathing, dressing, and eating. Many facilities also offer rehabilitative therapies, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and social and recreational activities to promote residents' well-being.

How do I determine if my loved one needs a nursing home?

Deciding whether a loved one needs a nursing home is a significant and often difficult decision. It's typically recommended when individuals can no longer safely and effectively manage their daily lives due to conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, or chronic illnesses. Observing factors like difficulty with mobility, impaired judgment, and requiring constant assistance with personal hygiene are key indicators. Consulting with a physician is crucial for a professional assessment.

What are the costs associated with nursing home care?

The cost of nursing home care in Indianapolis can vary significantly depending on the level of care required, the facility’s amenities, and the type of payment arrangement. Generally, costs range from approximately $3,000 to $8,000 per month, although this can fluctuate. Private pay is one option, but many families explore Medicare and Medicaid coverage, which may cover a portion of the costs depending on eligibility and the specific services needed. It’s essential to understand the financial assistance options.

What types of payment options are available?

Several payment options are available for nursing home care in Indianapolis. Private pay allows residents or their families to cover the full cost directly. Long-term care insurance can help offset expenses, but it's important to understand the policy’s terms and benefits. Medicare typically covers short-term skilled nursing care, while Medicaid provides coverage for long-term care for eligible individuals. Exploring options like Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits is also worthwhile for eligible veterans.

How do I choose the right nursing home?

Selecting the right nursing home is a crucial step, so thorough research is essential. Start by researching facilities in Indianapolis that meet your loved one's specific needs. Consider factors such as the staff-to-resident ratio, the quality of care, the facility’s safety record, and the resident satisfaction ratings. Visiting the facilities and speaking with staff and residents is highly recommended.

What should I look for in a nursing home’s inspection report?

Nursing homes in Indianapolis are regularly inspected by the Indiana Division of Health. These inspection reports provide valuable information about the facility’s quality of care. Pay attention to areas such as resident safety, staff training, infection control, and medication management. A consistently high rating indicates a greater likelihood of quality care, but it’s just one piece of the puzzle.

What role does family involvement play?

Family involvement is incredibly important in a nursing home setting. Active participation in your loved one’s care can significantly improve their quality of life. This includes communicating regularly with the care team, advocating for their needs, and participating in activities to foster social connections. Maintaining a strong family partnership is key to ensuring a positive experience.

What legal rights do nursing home residents have?

Nursing home residents have legal rights that protect them from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. These rights include the right to privacy, the right to make their own decisions (as much as possible), the right to refuse treatment, and the right to report grievances. Understanding these rights is crucial for both residents and their families. Contacting the Adult Protective Services is an important resource if concerns arise.

What is the role of a nursing assistant?

Nursing Assistants (NAs), also known as Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), play a vital role in nursing homes. They provide basic care services, such as assisting residents with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, and providing companionship. NAs are often the first point of contact for residents and are essential to the overall quality of care delivered within the facility. Their training and responsibilities are carefully regulated.

How do I report concerns about a nursing home?

If you have concerns about the care being provided at a nursing home in Indianapolis, it’s important to report them promptly. You can contact the Indiana Division of Health’s Adult Protective Services unit, the Facility Inspection Program, or the Ombudsman Program for long-term care, which advocates for residents’ rights. Maintaining detailed records of your concerns and any communication with the facility is recommended. Remember, reporting concerns can help improve the quality of care for all residents.
