Customer Reviews
Masa Sake Grill has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 based on over 946 reviews on Google
As someone from New York who’s used to top-tier food, I can confidently say Masa Sake Grill is hands-down the best meal I’ve had in Indiana. From start to finish, the experience was flawless — the atmosphere was modern and welcoming, the service was on point, and the food was out of this world. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The sushi rolls were perfection — balanced, creative, and melt-in-your-mouth good. The hibachi was cooked to perfection, full of flavor with the right amount of flair. Even the sides and small details stood out, showing how much care they put into everything. If you’re in Indiana and want an unforgettable dining experience, Masa Sake Grill is a must-visit. Coming from New York, where the food scene is competitive, this place truly impressed me and set the bar high.
It was my son‘s 22nd birthday that we were celebrating & they know how to do it up right, they sang to him & played a drum - our waitress was amazing. Which is why I tipped extra good because she is & was so amazing. They just do such an amazing job there and we go there quite frequently actually, since we do love it so much. We sat in the regular seating area near the bar and not in the room where they prepare the hibachi, but yet we were still able to order the hibachi which was wonderful because that’s what we both wanted, the hibachi chicken and shrimp with fried rice, with veggies, salad (came with creamy ginger dressing-spectacular) & clear soup! Yum!
We celebrated our friend's wedding anniversary at this restaurant. This was my first time here and I was throughly impressed! Our waiter was very nice and efficient. The hibachi chef was very entertaining. The food was amazing. We wil definitely co.e back for a date night
Masa Sake Grill – Solid Hibachi Spot with a Chill Weeknight Vibe 5946 E 86th St, Indianapolis (just north of Castleton Square Mall) Masa Sake Grill is a Japanese restaurant offering hibachi-style meals along with a sushi and sake bar. This was our second visit, and we came on a Monday around 5:30 PM. Unlike our first visit—on a packed weekend—the place was quiet, which we honestly preferred. We were seated immediately, and after a short wait for a few more diners to arrive, the hibachi show began. Perfect timing—we got to ease into the evening with appetizers and conversation. We started with crispy spring egg rolls—simple but satisfying and tempura shrimp. For the main course, we both ordered "The Impossible," which includes chicken, shrimp, and steak. Alongside it came a light broth soup and a fresh lettuce salad with a great house dressing. The hibachi experience was the standout. The chef cooked everything—rice, vegetables, and proteins—right at our table, mixing in just the right amount of showmanship. It was fun, engaging, and the portions were huge. Like most tables, we ended up taking leftovers home. The atmosphere is laid back and cool, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and there’s plenty of free parking—always a bonus. Overall, the food was excellent and reasonably priced for both the quality and the hibachi experience. We’re already planning our third visit. Just a heads-up: weekends get loud and crowded, so come on a weekday if you’re looking for a quieter, more relaxed dinner.
My husband and I went for the first time today and it was hands down the best hibachi we've ever had. The place is very clean, food was amazing and the staff were so sweet! The dynamite roll was out of this world! As we were about to leave, my husband was telling our waitress that yesterday was my birthday; she made us sit back down so that they could celebrate. They came out with a drum singing Happy Birthday to me. It was very sweet! 10/10 would highly recommend!
First time here and it was delicious. The vibe was happy! Got the spicy tuna roll and the spicy mango shrimp roll. Will be back!
I took my significant other here for his birthday. We had reservations for grill , was instantly seated when arrived. However, it took about 45 minutes until the chef came out to prepare. Make sure you have enough time here before making plans afterwards because of time. Luckily we were able to get the experience and still make it to our next reservations. Crab Rangoon’s 8/10, Garden of Eden Hibachi 9/10, Peach Margarita 10/10. Definitely go for the experience!! They sang happy birthday to him and brought out a fruit cake as well. His first time was for the books!
