The gyudon and tempura were yummy and totally hit the spot! 😊 Sadly, the sashimi didn’t win me over — it tasted frozen and wasn’t very fresh. I’d definitely come back for the cooked dishes though!

Genuinely the best sushi I’ve ever had— it’s hard to believe they’re in the middle of Indianapolis! The service here is SO good. All of the servers are so kind and helpful. I genuinely cannot recommend Asaka enough, every time I’m in the area I want to visit.

Came here for dinner. It was pretty good. Recommend that you call for reservation and pre-order. The only issues I had that the waitress didn't come check up on us as often. One of the cup had a crack and was leaking and needed some refills on water, but had to wait. Also, the waitress wasn't clear on which order was coming out.

Great value, fresh fish, plenty of vegetarian options. No complaints as the experience was overall positive. However… Edit: upon splitting the receipts and doing the math it looks like they overcharged on our tips. We were a large party so we were required to pay a 20% tip. However, it looks like the math they did ended up charging even more than 20% tips! I’m hoping they just made a math error, but still an unpleasant thing to realize after an otherwise great meal. Perhaps have the machine do the math instead of manual calculations in the future. (The 29.56 surcharge is 22% after tax or 24% pre tax)

Amazing sushi, service, and atmosphere! I recommend arriving early on the weekends or making a reservation. There were people lined up about 15 min before they opened, which should tell you how great this place is! Asaka is family owned by a father and daughter. Their craft for sushi and quality food really shows. The Happy Hour prices were such a great deal. The seaweed salad was a light and refreshing start to dinner. The Uni was in season and was such a treat! The hand rolls were so fresh and fun. This is definitely some of the freshest sushi I have had in Indiana! I look forward to returning!

I was really surprised by how big the slices of sashimi on top of the sushi were — way beyond my expectations! I couldn’t even finish half of it because the portions were just so generous for the price.

The food is decent, but the restaurant often runs out of the specials displayed on the board—and sometimes even standard menu items. The staff is warm and welcoming, though service can be sluggish, and orders occasionally arrive incorrectly. The chef typically selects the sushi included in the special rolls, which may not suit everyone’s preferences. As for the nigiri, the fish quality leaves something to be desired; the salmon is unusually pale orange, and the tuna appears light red, suggesting it’s not the freshest or quality.
