Indianapolis is very fortunate to have another Oak Street clinic on the Northside. This location is near 52nd and keystone. It provides excellent primary care. Patients are invited to come to the community room where they can watch TV and gather for other activities. There is always a snack and something to drink. Warm in the winter and cool in the summer, this clinic serves the community with comfort and care.
The best doctor’s office I’ve visited in years. The most friendly and knowledgeable staff. They made my mother feel very comfortable and making the appointment was easy and fast. I highly recommend them for elder care!
I phoned in for an appt because I was originally seen at the emergency room, I was told to see my primary care physician, after explaining everything I was put on hold only to be told at age 68 yrs. old that I would have to wait for a call back if someone didn't come in. The only reason my family switched to Oak Street was they were told about the professional geriatrics care that I would receive. Here it is the first time and I can't even rate a telephone call. We're going to definitely be looking for better options.
My first visit was a welcome visit, and that's just how I felt, welcome. The ladies at the front desk were very polite and patient. My next step was to talk to Nicholas, he did a patient assessment, let me know what to expect by being a patient at Oak St., gave me lots of info about the clinic, he also gave me a folder to keep my medical information in, a medical travel bag. So thankful for the gifts. I was asked several times, while waiting if I needed anything, everyone was so very nice, which I truly appreciated, my last step was to talk to Dr. Ann Arno, she asked soooo many questions, but she needed to know my medical history. She informed me of all the steps it takes to get from here to there, and my goal of better health, didn't like the fact that she gave me homework on my first visit, to check my blood pressure and chart it daily for the 3 weeks. My Oak St. Clinic experience was really great, l can't wait for my husband to be a patient when he starts his Medicare Insurance.
Today was a horrible one for me with Oak Street Health. I usually have a really bad visit every 2-3 visits but this one today I have to talk about. I was scheduled for a pick up. The Lyft driver(whom no one told me was coming for me, I usually get a green Oak Street van), had a badly damaged vehicle, no Lyft sign, and, parked illegally across and up the street from my home. I had NO idea he was waiting for me, and he spoke very poor English. His GPS was out of wack, so we were riding around In circles as I attempted to help him, to which he became a bit frustrated. After I got him going the right direction, he still didn't know where I was supposed to be dropped off, and I was almost broadsided by a vehicle from where I was sitting in the car as the driver attempted to try and figure out where I was to go and turn left at the same time. When I FINALLY arrived and told the reception desk what was had occurred, I was essentially brushed off. This has not been the first time this stuff has happened. The medical staff is usually friendly but I get LOADS of calls after I already set my regular appointment. A new year is coming up, I will be making some major changes!
I thought Oak Street was going to be a company of their word. My friend has had several problems with his appointments. Recording called to verify appointment and when he got to clinic no appointment noted. Upon leaving the clinic one time he asked for next appointment and paperwork for visit for that day, didn't happen. To top it off today a same day appointment was needed for a angry red rash and was told by Triage nurse after giving her his information and the signs and symptoms she agreed he needed to be seen today and she would return call in 30 minutes. Waited over 45 minutes still no reply so I called back to clinic to be told no Triage nurse by that name was there and nothing noted for his signs and symptoms under his name. WHAT OR YOU SERIOUS? Asked to speak to supervisor. Got transferred to supervisor at the facility of course apologetic but where is appointment for same day? I was then told even if complaint filed 48 hours turn around for call back. ARE YOU SERIOUS ? He is a heart patient of course no chest pain but we could have went to URGENT CARE facility if we knew we would be put off. I told him about the facility and all they had said they could offer so I'm feeling responsible somewhat because one disappointment after another regardless of apology still happening. After all the problems he has had with appointments and the frustration today of sitting and waiting and him being in discomfort and can't see his doctor today. WOW UNBELIEVABLE. This clinic was not far from where he lives but I am glad that I didn't change doctor's myself.
Went for the first visit tell Dr Jason about the pain I was in that I have been in for years which keeps me awake call then several times after the first visit trying to get some kind of relief for the muscle cramps still nothing never even got called back went in for the second visit told him again about the pain was completely ignored call them again then he finally called me back and was rather rude and flat out told me when I told him I was not hunting narcotics I was thinking relief from the muscle cramps which are very severe 24/7 so that I can get some sleep and he flat out said it's not going to be me I thought doctors were here to help people apparently this clinic is a a joke like the rest just wanted to get rich off of Medicare and Medicaid no longer from me will that happen I need a doctor and I need treatment but because of this happening I've given up on it completely I seen they was wanting to get intouch just to lie more this place is a joke and their Comercial is false advertising 24-7 dr availability what a all they want is money
