Barren. Empty. Bereft. A virtual ghost town.

We had a hard time finding the entrance. Once we got inside, there was nothing to make us feel welcome.

We wandered up and down the floors, finding one or two open stores, one or two open food places, a handful of visitors.

It looked sad. Yet another thing Covid broke???

Then we went into the Art Garden, which was spectacular. What a great place to rent out for events!

Circle Centre Mall is a treasure located in the downtown area of Indianapolis, Indiana. The murals are masterpieces that adorn the exterior walls beautifully. Each mural adds an extra touch of elegance. This location has created safe passageways from downtown hotels to shopping in the mall. This mall was designed with business in mind.

It’s truly heartbreaking to see what’s become of Circle Centre Mall in downtown Indianapolis. This place was once a bustling icon of the city—a beacon of commerce, entertainment, and community. Now, it’s completely dried up and practically disappeared into nothing. Walking through the mall today feels like stepping into a ghost town. Most of the shops are gone, the food court is a shadow of what it used to be, and there’s very little reason to visit anymore.

What once served as a central hub for shopping, dining, and making memories has sadly faded away. So many of us grew up coming here—whether it was for back-to-school shopping, weekend hangouts, or holiday visits with family. The energy and life that once filled this space have vanished, and what’s left is a hollow reminder of better times.

It’s truly disappointing to see such a historic property in the heart of Indianapolis fall into this level of decline. The lack of investment, the departure of nearly every major retailer, and the overall emptiness of the place just makes it feel like the city has given up on it.

Circle Centre Mall used to be a proud symbol of downtown, but now it feels like a relic that’s been forgotten. It deserves better. We all do. Unless major revitalization happens soon, it’s hard to recommend visiting—because, quite honestly, there’s hardly anything left to see. A sad end to what was once a great part of Indy’s downtown life.

Circle Centre Mall is a nice spot to check out if you’re in downtown Indianapolis. The location is super convenient, right near Monument Circle and other attractions. It has a decent variety of stores and a food court with good options to grab a quick bite. I also liked that it’s connected to the Indianapolis Artsgarden, which adds a cool vibe to the experience. Some parts of the mall feel a little dated, but overall, it’s a good place to shop, eat, or just take a break while exploring the city.

Interesting mall with an interesting design.
When coming here for the first time, it’s kind of difficult to find the entrance since it kind of blends in with other office entrances.
The part of the mall over the intersection of Illinois Street and Washington Street is kind of interesting too especially if you’re into unique architecture. The mall is about four floors tall and extends into buildings across the street via sky bridges. There are lots of stores, the place is very clean and very nice and overall a great mall. The other big architectural detail about this mall is the interesting glass elevators near the main entrance at Washington and Illinois Street.

When you think of a shopping mall for your average consumer, this is the one you have in mind. This mall is full of the typical shopping mall stores such as Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, Hollister, and so many more apparel and home goods stores. This mall was clean and easy to navigate on my visit with nearly every storefront occupied with a shop. Lots of brand name stores with a few local stores in the mix. This mall has the usual anchors of Macy’s, Von Maur, and JcPenney with inside and outside the mall access.

Relatively easy to roam and find places since its just a T shape. Cant believe how big it is but only restrooms inside the food court or maybe Macy’s and Dicks. Decent stores and a cool independent semi fake stuff from Chicago streets and vendors in a Euro named shop near Footlocker. Good legit fakes and some real Essentials Drippage and decent selection.

– parcare imensa, gratuită;
– restaurante;
– loc de joacă pentru copii.

I enjoyed bringing my family to Castleton Square Mall near the Fishers Suburbs of Indianapolis while visiting friends. There are so many different stores to shop at, a lot of parking, and a large variety of food to choose from while eating at the food court. My kids’ favorite store was going to the Lego store. I will point out that I would suggest being extra aware of your surroundings while in the parking lot as I noticed someone looking into cars.

Visited this mall when traveling through Indiana. It has some of the high-end fashion stores, which is probably why it holds the name it does. I found that a third, if not more, of the storefronts had nothing in them so a large portion of the mall is or at least seems vacant. The food court has several options but it also does not have much variety. There was plenty of parking and space to move around once in the mall and luckily it is in an area with a large number of restaurants and other shops so if it does not have what you want there are other options. It is not a bad mall but it could be better.

One step into this mall and you’ll understand why it’s named The Fashion Mall at Keystone. The stores cater to those that are into higher end apparel with stores such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Coach, while still having stores for everybody such as Nike, Levi’s, and Gap with a little bit of everything in between. The food court is decently sized with an array of options from Shake Shack to Tobu Oriental Eatery. Also a very nice mall just to simply walk around inside as it’s very clean and easy to navigate.

First time here! Just sitting here admiring the architect of this indoor beautiful structure.

This is an upscale mall with various top tier shops and eateries.

It has a feel of the Water Tower (back in the 80s), Oak Brook Mall and the Magnificent Mile in Chicago. Be ready to shop ’til you drop!

I would definitely visit again when in town.

It’s great mall in Indianapolis.
Here is the information about Mall.
Malls are large indoor shopping centers that house a variety of stores, restaurants, and entertainment options. They typically have anchor stores, which are large department stores that attract customers to the mall. Malls also often have a food court, which is a collection of fast food restaurants under one roof.
Malls can be a one-stop shop for many people’s shopping needs. They offer a convenient and climate-controlled environment to browse and compare stores. Malls can also be a social destination, as they provide a place to meet up with friends, grab a bite to eat, or watch a movie.

The Fashion Mall is a decent shopping mall with a good variety of high-end stores. The mall is clean, well-maintained, and has a pleasant atmosphere. However, it falls short when it comes to dining options. There are only a handful of restaurants, which can be disappointing at times compared to other shopping malls. However Shake Shack is there.

We first visited the downtown mall in Indianapolis (Circle Centre) and were really disappointed since so many stores were closed. Then we checked out the Fashion Mall after seeing its higher ratings—OMG, what a difference! Even in February it was busy, but not overcrowded, and the variety of high-end stores was impressive. Hardly any empty spaces, and the atmosphere was great. I’d definitely love to come back and highly recommend this mall.

Although Burlington is officially closes. This is stunning one of my favorite malls. The floors are clean, plenty of security and decent prices. Although on Sundays many stores are closed MoJo Barber Shop is open and taking customers. The food court is small but have a wonderful Chinese food spot.

There are several unique gift stores here. Dick’s Sporting goods and Target are the larger anchors. Available store space here and there.
Inside is well kept.

This mall is awful.. it looks like scrap inside.. bathrooms are horrible… the heat never works… the parking lot has holes will mess up your car…stores don’t stay long because of bad management.. the new manager he is a very awful person he treats you like a dog very disrespectful… and acts like this mall is very worthy.. it is not.. he over charges on the retail spots and people are disrespected and they move out. Who wants to do business with a person that treats people like this. This mall needs to close. There are spots that have been in this mall for YEARS and he makes them leave saying he’s leased the spot.. yea right…. Also he’s the cause that a man died at that mall he wouldn’t turn the heat on and he ended up having bad health problems and died just recently. Please go elsewhere don’t support such a place. Target is wonderful and so is Dicks but otherwise.. please be aware.. to Mall management needs to be fired.. Awful job

it has been awhile since I have been at this mall. The photos tell a VERY SAD STORY. I am not sure how it happened but this mall has become a ghost town. These photos were taken on Saturday, March 1st, around 3 pm. The mall SHOULD HAVE been packed. There are just a few stores left in this large mall. From the pictures, you can see that there are yellow gates to keep people out of the mall. There is also a police presence about the property. What s pity that this place is closed

This used to be the spot when I was growing up…but ever since Simon Malls sold the place ,, it’s been going downhill ever since . I bought my first pair of sneakers from Lafayette Square , bought my first fitted hat . Had my first date at Lafayette Square && had bought my first pair of designer jeans at Lafayette . The first time I ever had a Cinnabon was at Lafayette Square && I bought my first grills from here . Lafayette holds a lot of memories for me…so to see what it’s turned into is a sad sight to see . It’s pretty much turned into a flea market with a handful of stores that I would never shop at . I keep hearing that there’s new developments on the way…but it seems like I’ve been hearing that for almost a decade at this point && whoever the current owner is STILL hasn’t done anything to move the needle with this mall .

I heard from a former employee that used to work security for the mall that the current owner also owns The Alamo Brewhouse across the street . I’m not sure if that’s the truth or if they were just bumping their gums…but if that’s the case ,, that explains why The Alamo is charging an arm && a leg for a movie ticket , a cup of water and some chicken fingers . They’re probably bleeding money trying to keep Lafayette afloat . At this point…they’re better off just demolishing the mall and leveling the place . Then build something else entirely or rebuild the mall with a new && improved revamped look that’ll attract consumers . There’s a BUNCH of people who wished there was still a mall on this side of town . Who wants to drive 30-mins in another direction to get to a mall when Lafayette is a 10min or less drive from everybody on the west side of town . Hopefully the owner sees this && does something…because it’s getting ridiculous at this point . If you don’t have the funds to fix the building or rebuild it from scratch ,, then sell it to somebody who’s capable of the task at hand .

This mall has really gone downhill. I’m wondering when they will close it for good. There are no stores to really shop in because all of the them have packed up and left. The parking lot is horrible because it has more potholes than Indianapolis streets. The security they have is a joke! The indoor play area for children is worth the trip.

Lafayette Square Mall used to be such a busy successful mall in the mid to late 90s. When I came back here for curiosity sake it was strange. The decor was mostly the same but there were no people or anchor stores.

Catalog of services offered by shopping malls in Indianapolis

Initial legal consultations and case evaluation

In Indianapolis, civil attorneys provide initial consultations to gather essential facts, review documents, and identify the applicable statutes and regulations. These sessions help clients understand potential remedies, assess the strength of a claim, and determine whether to pursue negotiation, mediation, or litigation. Attorneys also outline likely timelines, costs, and next steps so stakeholders can make informed decisions.

Contract drafting, review, and negotiation for leases and vendor agreements

M malls rely on complex contracts for leases, vendor agreements, and service contracts. A civil attorney can assist with contract drafting and comprehensive review, ensuring terms are clear, balanced, and enforceable. They highlight risks, allocate responsibilities, address dispute resolution clauses, and safeguard rights related to rent, CAM charges, insurance, and termination scenarios.

    Dispute resolution and mediation

For mall-related conflicts, alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation or arbitration can offer efficient paths to resolution. Civil attorneys in Indianapolis help structure settlements, negotiate favorable terms, and preserve business relationships, whether disputes involve leases, service providers, marketing agreements, or customer claims.

Premises liability and personal injury claims

Malls present opportunities for premises liability matters, including slip-and-fall incidents and injuries from structural hazards. Attorneys evaluate duty of care, breach, causation, and damages, gather medical and incident documentation, and advise on pursuing insurance claims or filing lawsuits to seek compensation for medical costs, lost income, and pain and suffering.

    Property and real estate litigation

Real estate and property disputes can arise around mall ownership, development, and site operations. Civil lawyers address property disputes, boundary issues, title defects, easements, zoning compliance, and covenants. They prepare pleadings, conduct discovery, and represent clients in negotiations or court proceedings to protect real estate interests.

Employment law matters for mall employers and tenants

Employment matters in retail and mall environments include wage and hour claims, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination. Civil attorneys provide guidance on compliance with state and federal laws, draft and enforce workplace policies, and manage investigations and resolutions to minimize risk.

    Business and commercial litigation

Businesses operating in or around malls may face breach of contract, partnership disputes, or intellectual property issues. Attorneys support clients through litigation and dispute resolution, help protect brand assets, negotiate settlements, and navigate complex regulatory frameworks that affect commercial operations.

    Consumer protection and class actions

Consumer protection laws guard shoppers against unfair business practices, deceptive advertising, and defective products. Civil attorneys in Indianapolis can assist with consumer protection matters, pursue claims on behalf of classes when appropriate, and seek remedies such as restitution, injunctions, or settlements to promote fair market behavior.

Frequently asked questions about shopping malls in Indianapolis

What types of stores are commonly found in Indianapolis malls?

Indianapolis malls offer a mix of anchor department stores, fashion retailers, electronics, home goods, and specialty shops. You’ll also find gently used and designer consignment options at some centers, plus local boutiques that highlight regional brands. Many malls host seasonal pop-up shops and rotating storefronts, which means there is often something new to explore during visits. In addition to shopping, most malls provide entertainment options such as movie theaters, arcades, or live performances, creating a comprehensive experience beyond stores.

Are there family-friendly facilities and activities for children?

Yes. Most Indianapolis malls include family-friendly facilities such as kids’ play areas, nursing rooms, and family restrooms. Some locations offer kids’ clubs or character appearances, and many have arcades or interactive experiences for entertainment. If you’re planning a visit with children, look for stroller-friendly layouts, accessible seating, and clear wayfinding to help your family move comfortably through the space.

Do malls in Indianapolis offer accessibility features for people with disabilities?

Absolutely. Indianapolis malls generally provide accessible entrances, elevator access, handrail-equipped ramps, and accessible parking close to main doors. Inside, there are often wide corridors, accessible restrooms, and assistive listening devices at information desks. Customer service staff can also help with seating arrangements, large-print directories, and directions within the property to ensure a comfortable visit for everyone.

What are parking and transit options near Indianapolis malls?

Parking is typically plentiful at major malls, with many locations offering free parking and clearly marked handicap-accessible spots. Transit options include bus service via regional routes and nearby park-and-ride facilities. Ride-hailing services are commonly used, and some malls provide shuttle services from regional transit hubs. Before you go, check the mall’s parking map and site-specific transit information for current details and any temporary restrictions.

How safe are shopping malls in Indianapolis?

Most malls maintain a visible security presence with surveillance cameras, patrols, and a dedicated security desk or information center. They implement emergency procedures, well-lit parking and common areas, and clear signage to aid safe navigation. Visitors should still exercise normal precautions, such as keeping personal belongings secure, staying with companions, and reporting any concerns to mall staff immediately.

Do malls host events and promotions?

Many Indianapolis malls host a variety of events and promotions, including seasonal celebrations, fashion shows, fundraising drives, and food festivals. Some centers offer mall walking programs for fitness groups, as well as vendor fairs and live entertainment on weekends. To stay informed, check the mall’s event calendar and subscribe to newsletters for exclusive offers and early access.

What dining options are available at Indianapolis malls?

Dining at malls typically ranges from quick-service food courts to sit-down restaurants, plus coffee shops and snack kiosks. You’ll often find global cuisines, with options for kids’ meals and special dietary needs such as vegetarian or gluten-free selections. Some centers also offer gourmet grocers or upscale cafes that complement the shopping experience and provide a comfortable place to take a break during a busy day.

How should I plan a shopping trip to Indianapolis malls?

For a successful visit, start with a plan that includes a store directory and map of the mall. Look for current promotions, parking guidance, and dining options in advance. Create a loose itinerary that prioritizes must-visit stores, while leaving room for short breaks to prevent fatigue. If you need help, many malls offer guest services or information desks where staff can provide directions and assistance.

What are typical hours and holiday schedules for Indianapolis malls?

Hours vary by mall and season, but most centers open in the late morning and stay open into the evening on weekdays and weekends. Holiday hours often extend or shorten these times, so it’s important to check the mall’s official hours before visiting. For special sales events, hours can shift to accommodate crowds, so staying updated through the mall’s website or social media is recommended.

How can I locate the nearest mall in Indianapolis?

You can locate the nearest mall by using online maps, mall websites, and local business directories. Popular options include renowned centers such as Castleton Square, Greenwood Park Mall, and Washington Square, among others. When you search, look for directions, parking information, and store directories to help plan your route and optimize your visit.
