We took my 11 year old daughter who lives with autism here because she loves game shows. We were so impressed with how kind and accommodating everyone was with her sensory needs. The game space is big and open and very comfortable. It went so well and we had a lot of fun! Caryn and Jarrod were amazing! Thank you!

My first visit was the other day, due to attending a Yelp event. They offer soft drinks, alcohol, and mocktails. Its been around since 2022, yet this is my first time going. It was a lot of fun. Abby and ZP were great. They both had amazing energy and were the life of the party. It was hard for me to find it as my GPS was going crazy. But it’s in the same plaza as the old Outback Steakhouse and The Room Place which are no longer there. But if you’re familiar with that area, then you’ll know what I’m talking about. I’m definitely planning another trip. Its about $35pp for 1 hour. You need at least 8 people. The time will go fast. The bathrooms were clean. It was overall a really great time. I left without a voice from all of the excitement. They have two game rooms and switch the games up every two months. Please make sure to check them out.

Game Show Battle Room was an absolute blast! From start to finish, the energy was high and the games were so much fun. Billy and Jordan were incredible hosts — engaging, funny, and kept everyone involved the entire time. They truly made the experience memorable. This was a fantastic team-building activity that brought everyone together with lots of laughs and friendly competition. Highly recommend for groups, team outings, or anyone looking for a unique and exciting experience. We can’t wait to come back!

We did the game of «Clue» version, and solved it in 48 minutes, but the time flew by…. it was really fun! If you are a fan of the game «Clue», this will feel very familiar, but with all the separate rooms, it was still veey much an adventure. Amanda was great as our clue master and offered help (when requested) that still kept us very involved in detecting, instead of just giving us answers…. 5 stars to Amanda! I would highly recommend giving it a try!

This was our first time doing an escape/breakout room and we loved it! The staff were very friendly and explained things thoroughly. They allowed us to ask for hints if we were stuck. I wasn’t sure if this would be fun for my kids but they loved it. There are several options for «all ages» so if bringing kids definitely choose a kid friendly one. Edit- we went again and the second time was even better because we knew what to expect. Seth was very helpful when we had questions.

We made it out… barely (and with our dignity somewhat intact)! If you’ve ever wanted to test your friendships, your sanity, and your ability to do basic math under pressure—all while being handcuffed to a plot twist—then Breakout Games is your place. Our group entered confident, full of snacks and hubris. Within 10 minutes, we were debating whether the clue meant «turn right» or «right turn at Albuquerque.» The staff must’ve been laughing themselves silly watching us on camera. (Shoutout to our Game Master for not giving up on us after the 4th hint and my 7th panic scream of «THIS LOCK IS BROKEN!!») Somehow, against all odds (and with the help of exactly 9 clues), we escaped with 37 seconds to spare. The adrenaline rush was real. I haven’t felt this accomplished since assembling IKEA furniture without crying. 10/10 would get locked in again. Breakout Games—where teamwork goes to die, and laughter resurrects it.

We had such a great time at Breakout! The escape room was fun, challenging, and really well put together. A huge shout-out to Rain, who helped us during our experience. She was super sweet, kind, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. She explained everything clearly and made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for a fun escape room, I definitely recommend Breakout. Ask for Rain if you can she’s amazing!!!😊

Very fun to experience for my son’s birthday! James was a big help and made the whole process easy to learn. We did the Deadwood Valley and it was constant action. We went for my son’s 18th birthday! I was unsure about doing this experience especially the Stranger Things experience as I don’t do scary but the staff eased my mind and had fun with me before hand and assured me it would be fine. It was so much fun. I screamed a lot which was expected. The videos to watch and laugh at afterwards and the special birthday video made it even better. Red and Jordan (staff) were great : very helpful, personable and friendly. I felt like they cared about us as customers. I would definitely do it again. We drove almost 3 hours to do this. The Garage across the street with all kinds of fun was a great way to end the night.

Red and Beetle were amazing hosts this evening. About 2 years ago I took my youngest there for his birthday party. Unforunately, the software crashed and they put credits on my account to reimburse me for my payment. Over 2 years later we returned and sure enough they found the credits and we came back for yet again another birthday celebration. The crew there is amazing, so fun, so polite and helped us have the best time! One of my kiddos felt a little off from playing so hard. They allowed her time to get water, get settled, and recover as best as she could have. You guys are great at what you do, passionate about gaming and the customer experience. Thanks for giving us such a fun night!

Sandbox VR stranger things catalyst was amazing! Went with my kids (ages 15, 12, and 10) and it blew us all away. We were laughing and yelling and completely immersed! Even though Night at the Castle broke my family’s 100% escape record, we had an absolute blast! Without revealing their secrets, let’s say the set-up was unlike any other we have done. The theme was fun and the room was spacious enough that my claustrophobic dad was perfectly fine, even with 9 other people in the (first) room. Our gamemaster, Logan, was in top of our progress and how clues were helpful without being too easy (we have been to some rooms where their clues were not helpful at all). I highly recommend them and will return if I am ever back in Indianapolis.

We had a great time at The Escape Room Fishers! We tried the 1776 room with high hopes we’d be able to escape. Logan our room guide was awesome! When we asked for clues he provided them, but in a way that still made us have to use our problem solving capabilities. Although we didn’t escape in time, we enjoyed our experience from start to finish. We just needed 5 more minutes! Lol If we are in the area again, we will definitely be back.

Colin Breckler

This was my first time to do an escape room. I went with three friends. One friend goes to escape rooms all over the country. She stated these rooms had outstanding problems for their prices. Our host was absolutely outstanding. I wish I knew his name. We only planned to do one problem but stayed for a second. While the host was awesome the people resetting the rooms caused issues in both problems. In the first problem one of the sections was already solved and had not been reset; we did not finish this room anyway so it was not consequential. In the second problem the host had to enter while we worked to reset an issue he noticed while monitoring us.

Our group did the hardest room they had to offer and it was incredible. The room design was really cool and the clues were decently hard without being impossible. Cicada was our guide through the escape room and they were super helpful and nice through our whole experience. They made sure we didn’t accidentally get too focused on something unrelated for super long and without making the escape room easy.

We just had our second visit and loved it even more than our first. Our family did Trader Town, which had great puzzles and fun features I haven’t seen before. Our host Mya was awesome! During our previous visit our group had a blast in the Jail Break room! Everyone enjoyed the experience – from ages 8 to 45. The room was challenging, but doable, with fun surprises at every turn. Piper was a great room host!!

We have loved every room here at The Eacape Room Indianapolis. This time we tested our problem solving skills in the CIA room. It was an absolute blast. We completed 50% of the objectives with two people. Technically, it’s a win but we wanted to get all four. Our guide Alex was so much fun and a great help when we needed assistance. Had so much fun went with my 13 yr old, my 19 year old and 2 adults. Had what they called a soft win. Was a difficult hour long choice called the insane asylum. The Paniq Room escape room staff were the most wonderful, helpful people! They were understanding and enthusiastic and patient with my whole group. We had reached out in advance, and Jace, Jake, and Elyssa coordinated with me and by best friend’s brand new fiancé to give her the most unforgettable proposal ever! I will be forever grateful to Paniq for helping us create such a memorable and beautiful experience. The room itself was so immersive and beautifully decorated. The challenges with interesting and engaging and definitely amped up an already exciting moment. Thank you so much to everyone involved!! I will definitely be coming back!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jake who wore a lovely smile, explained everything to us thoroughly and made sure we were totally comfortable. Upon beginning the room, we had a game master named Jace who did a great job making sure our game ran smoothly and kept our hints quick and helpful without being TOO helpful if that makes sense. The room was awesome, and «Next Gen» meaning there were no physical locks and keys, etc… instead, drawers, doors, cases and such opened automatically upon the completion of each «puzzle». It felt very high tech and also very smooth and left no room for error, which I love! After finishing our room (with over 7 minutes to spare thanks to Jace’s helpful hints 😘), Jake came back into the room to guide us back up front, but happily snapped a photo of us in the room first. We were incredibly impressed with the entire experience and will be back to PanIQ again soon!

This place was so mucb fun. A small group of us went and had a ball. The host was really nice. The only down side is that they start the timer at the exact time whether your there or not. I understand the idea behind this if you are in a public/shared room however for a private roo. It just doesn’t make sense. My entire team came together we got a bit loss due to construction when we got there they had started the clock even though none of us were there. It definitely was a challenge not having all the time but we made it out with seconds to spare. So good job team i would definitely be back… on time next time

We loved our visit to the PanIQ room! We visited for my daughter’s 15th birthday with 5 of her friends. We did the Insane Asylum room and it was amazing. It started out a little tough but our game master, Jace, helped the girls and they had a great time! Recommend you do this with your family. We are not pros by any means, but this really is so much fun to work together but also, it’s hysterical how different personalities play out when under pressure. We did «The Collection» and it was very challenging. Our game master- Salem was super helpful and gave us clues when we asked AND gave us extra time. A few jump moments made it funny at Mom’s expense. Highly recommend for good old fashioned family time!

We found this escape room looking for the Scooby Doo room. It was a great find! I loved everything from the window dressing to the fun vibe in the waiting room. The staff were friendly and fun. My cousin and I took our kids here to celebrate my son’s 7th birthday. I love that they have several rooms specifically for kids to play. We dod the Scooby Doo room and the kids LOVED it but there’s definitely no way they could’ve done it themselves. My cousin and I are 36yrs old and we were challenged by the puzzles—even with the hints 😂. but we genuinely enjoyed the challenge. The room was really cool and the kids would get so excited when they realized there were additional rooms to discover. Highly recommend for all ages! Oh and even better, the manager there was so incredibly kind and understanding. She explained the rules well and took time to answer our questions. She also didn’t mind that we helped our kids when they got stuck (I think this is technically «against the rules»). She was awesome and it just made a great experience even better! We will definitely be back. 😃

Had an amazing time on date night! Our game master was super friendly. We didn’t finish in time but they didn’t have anyone after us so they us figure the rest out which was really nice. The bathroom was super clean and they even had feminine products for those who need it. The whole place was decorated really nicely and was really clean. We did the Lost City and the props were all really cool it was super fun. We will definitely be back!

It was our first time doing an escape room and Natalie did a great job as Game Master. Our group did the Lost City challenge and had the best time! It was so much fun and we will definitely be back!

My teens went in to have some fun on a Sunday night. The front desk girl made it a bad experience for them. She was extremely rude to them. They had issues with their waiver. I had to come in and sign them, her face was buried in her phone, not acknowledging me until I spoke up. She instantly started with her snarky attitude. I kept quiet so that the kids could still have fun. Find a new job if you cant manage to greet customer with respect. No matter thier age. Also the whole issue with the waiver was her spelling the name wrong. 1st time customer and wont be back.

We had such a fun, lively experience playing The Wine Cellar! The owner has created very immersive rooms with a lot of thought into all aspects of prop design, puzzle flow, and storylines. Julie is a wonderful host who adds lots of creative elements of her own as well. Defintely recommend coming to check her rooms out, they are great year-round!

We came here for the first time, the host was very interactive and funny. The room was creepy and challenging and we finished the room with only three minutes to spare! We had so much fun and would definitely come again!

My family and I did The Hunted room and it was amazing. We aren’t very good at escape rooms, but enjoy them. Julie was our host and she was absolutely amazing w us. The atmosphere is scary with a lot of humor as well. Entering the building blindfolded is a little scary, but it sets you up for exactly what you’re there to do. The props are awesome, we had difficulty trying to put puzzles together but were given just the right amount of clues to move ahead. We did escape by the seat of our pants, and afterward Julie explained the background to this room and it’s amazing how this room is really based on true life events that have occurred. Julie is the owner and creator of the rooms, and has done an amazing job creating The Hunted room. We will be back to try and escape additional rooms. Had a great time and well worth the experience! Thanks Julie! You’ were incredible. Denise, Savanna, & Kat

I did «The Cabin» with my friends this weekend, and it was so much fun! It was creepy, the puzzles were interesting, and it tested our ability as a small group of 3. The host was amazing! She has so much enthusiasm and made our experience so much better. If you’re in the area, you should check it out! 🙂

This was the best escape room I’ve done. My friends and I did the cabin, and the atmosphere was oppressive. It was so creepy and fun. The host was incredible and did a great job making the game fun while supplying hints in a helpful way. I wish I lived closer so I could come back and do every other room here. Definitely recommend 10/10

Our group recently went to The Key escape room and was absolutely thrilled with the experience! From the moment we waited outside, the anticipation built up in an exciting way. Once inside, the atmosphere was both awesome and genuinely scary, striking the perfect balance between fun and spine-tingling suspense. The owners and workers were exceptional, really immersing us in the experience with their convincing portrayals, yet they were incredibly friendly and reassuring before and after the escape, which really enhanced the overall experience. They are awesome!!!! If you’re looking for an escape room that steps outside the ordinary and offers a thrilling, eerie adventure, The Key is a must-try. Be prepared to be scared, Highly recommend for a unique and memorable outing.

Frequently asked questions about escape rooms in Indianapolis

What exactly is an escape room?

An escape room is a challenging, immersive entertainment experience. Participants are locked in a themed room and have to work together as a team to solve puzzles, find clues, and complete objectives within a set time limit – typically 60 minutes. It's a fantastic way to test your problem-solving skills and enjoy a collaborative activity. The goal is to escape the room before time runs out!

Are escape rooms suitable for families?

Absolutely! Many escape rooms in Indianapolis cater specifically to families. There are rooms designed for different age groups and skill levels, including family-friendly themes. It’s a great opportunity to bond and create memories. However, consider the difficulty level and ensure it’s appropriate for the youngest member of your group. Some rooms have age recommendations, so always check before booking.

What kind of themes do escape rooms have?

Escape rooms in Indianapolis offer a huge range of themes, from historical adventures to sci-fi thrillers and spooky mysteries. You might find yourself investigating a pirate ship, cracking codes in a 1920s speakeasy, solving a crime in a haunted mansion, or even battling aliens on a spaceship. The variety means there’s likely a theme to suit almost everyone’s interests. Many rooms have elaborate set design and props to enhance the immersion.

Do I need to be in good physical condition to play?

Not necessarily! While some escape rooms involve a moderate amount of movement (climbing, crawling), most don’t require strenuous physical fitness. The primary demands are mental agility, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. However, if you have any mobility concerns, it’s a good idea to inform the escape room operator in advance so they can accommodate your needs.

    What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing is recommended! You'll be moving around, so wear clothes that allow you to flex and move freely. Avoid wearing anything too loose that could get caught on objects or obstruct your movement. Closed-toe shoes are essential for safety, as many rooms have floors with puzzles or challenges that require stepping on.

What happens if we get stuck?

Most escape rooms offer a system of hints to help you if you’re struggling. These hints are usually triggered by a button or intercom, and the game master will provide guidance without giving away the entire solution. Don’t be afraid to ask for help – it's part of the experience! The goal is to think critically and work together, not to be stuck for the entire 60 minutes.

    Are there age restrictions?

Many escape rooms have minimum age requirements, typically 12 or 13, due to the complexity of the puzzles and the need for teamwork. Some rooms may have age recommendations based on the theme’s content. Always check the specific escape room's website or contact them directly to confirm their age restrictions. It's vital to ensure the game is appropriate for the participant’s maturity and comprehension level.

Can large groups play escape rooms?

Yes, many escape rooms in Indianapolis can accommodate large groups, but it’s essential to book in advance, especially for weekends and holidays. Group sizes are often limited to ensure everyone can participate effectively. Check the escape room’s website to see the maximum group size they can handle. Larger groups often require booking multiple rooms.

What safety precautions do escape rooms take?

Safety is a top priority for all escape rooms. They typically have fire suppression systems, emergency exits, and trained game masters on hand to assist if needed. Before starting, you’ll usually receive a brief safety briefing covering procedures and guidelines. Many rooms are designed with secure locking mechanisms to prevent accidental injuries.

How do I book an escape room?

You can usually book an escape room through the escape room’s website or by phone. Many offer online booking systems that allow you to select your desired date, time, and theme. It’s recommended to book in advance, particularly for popular times and weekends. Some escape rooms also offer group discounts, so it's worth inquiring about those options. Make sure to read reviews before booking to get a sense of the experience.
