This review is only for the consultation process. I’m sure Attorney Haynes and her staff are wonderful. But I would hope they take this review as constructive criticism and find a better way for consultations. I understand they cannot give you their pricing until they look at the case but they could at least give a ballpark guesstimate. I told them I had a pro bono lawyer previously and I am low income, I asked what range would my type of case be in. They said they had no idea. So when I paid the $200 consultation fee, I spoke for 30 minutes and while we were speaking, the lawyers must’ve taken a look at it and quoted $8500 for a JP case. I was told the retainer was normal. That could’ve been told to me before I scheduled the consultation. If that is the ballpark for a JP case with no assets to divide or anything complicated, then that had to be something they could say as we scheduled the call. I could’ve chosen not to waste anyone’s time, by saying I can’t afford that range. They said it varies for everyone but in all honesty it feels like a way to collect money. Especially after calling other lawyers and they give a range for their fees. It just really seemed so shady to take money from a low income family.

Melissa is wonderful! I can't recommend her services enough! First off, she fights like a bulldog on your behalf. I was dealing with a custody battle and won't get into too many details regarding that but what I will say is she is always prepared, we had to fight lies, manipulations, misconstruing the truth and facts, if you give her the ammunition, she will use it. Be honest with her and share the truth and document what you're dealing with so she has the entire context as if she is going through it with you and she actually does! Secondly, her communication skills are exemplary. I've had attorneys who wouldn't ever respond or they would take weeks to respond, I honestly think the longest I've ever waited for a response was 48-hrs, which I understand that I was not her only client and she has days in court that would take precedent over an email but she would get back to me asap and I appreciated that immensely. It's hard dealing with someone as manipulative as we were but Melissa knew how to navigate that with the help of myself providing the truth and ultimately helped even though the other party had a bulldog of an attorney also, but the truth ALWAYS comes to light eventually. I can't recommend Melissa enough, I'd give her 6 stars if I could!

I worked with Justin for the past year and a half through a very difficult custody battle. As a young single mom coming with far fewer financial resources than the opposing party, I was scared about how I’d protect my child while managing the financial strain. From day one (unlike other lawyers I met) Justin encouraged me and assured me that I had a strong chance of getting what my child needed. He stayed honest about our options, guided me through every step, answered my 1000’s of questions, and billed me fairly. I’m very happy with the outcome and incredibly grateful to Justin and his paralegal, Linsey, for all their support. I will definitely be working with them again for any future issues that might arise.

Unprofessional and negligent representation. Communication was poor, follow-through was lacking, and basic accountability was absent throughout my case. When I made the decision to terminate their services due to these issues, the firm immediately attempted to shift responsibility by aggressively pursuing questionable withdrawal charges rather than addressing their own performance. Instead of handling the transition professionally, they resorted to pressure tactics and threats of collections over disputed fees, which speaks volumes about their priorities. I would strongly caution anyone considering this office to review their fee agreement carefully and be prepared for financial pushback if you decide to part ways. I do not recommend this firm.

I worked with Ryan Cassman, and could not have had a more nightmare of an experience. His talent is talking on the phone. We can quickly make you feel like he has things under control. When you hangup, he will take 2-3 weeks to respond to the most minor questions. When I say minor, I mean, asking if there had been any update in a month. After email upon emails, he would finally agree to a call, and convince me things were OK. Divorce is a stressful time, and minor updates are very appreciated. Due to his complete lack of action, my divorce drug out 8 months longer than it should have. I had to finally switch attorneys, and pay a whole new retainer, just to get moving. His last email to me was sending me some other clients financial documents, and I found out he never even sent the opposing counsel my discovery 5 months earlier. Please do not use him.

She got us an emergency hearing scheduled within a week of coming on the case. I wish I could say we got to that hearing. My son left us days from that hearing. Worst attorney I've ever seen. Literally got mad and sabotaged our case after telling me that's exactly what he would do. Then mocked us for it after he lied and did things like cancelled mediations against my will and extended the 60 day requirement after told not to and making sure our kids were damaged even more from the fake chins case we eventually won but the damage is done. Steer clear this guy talks such a good game but he is mean spiteful and down right hateful. Please listen it's not worth the change I'm right trust me please. Pure evil.

After multiple requests on status update throughout the case I have to hound them to get an email to decipher its been finalized and only further instructions is to contact the health department. A single 5 minute phone call on what was done, (adoption completed, name changed, birth cert mailed to me ect,) would have saved me over a week's worth of guessing what to do next and over a year later I'm still struggling to finish what I've payed thousands of dollars for.

Save your money for a firm that takes time to get to know you and your case. A firm that will push back on your behalf in a divorce proceeding and clearly communicate and guide you. A firm that you don't need to feel like you have to repeat yourself over and over. Mann Law is not the place and makes me want my first experience with retaining a lawyer be my last.
