Terri Stanfield

This visit was THE MOST FUN I ever had at a new Dr. now I saw the NP which usually I dislike but let’s face it visit was because I was peeing my pants all the time and everywhere. I’m a pit of a comic and she absolutely went right along with me. Now after giving me medicine that stopped all of that she took a good 3/4 of my best material away from me. But I forgive her. Recommend this lady 100%. I guess I’ll have to keep seeing my Bariatric group for other intertaining material like Weight loss and flatulence.

If it wasn’t for Megan Snyder, PA, I wouldn’t be alive! 1 1/2 yrs ago I had to have Emergency Surgery b/c kidneys were blocked w/7-8mm stones! I had been having pain across lower back about 3 yrs prior & drs attributed recovering knee replacements & posture and low back/sciatica. I had turned 65 & had numerous scans, X-rays,etc. went to MedCheck after vomiting, diarrhea & high heart rate. Was sent to hospital for test, to see Megan & directly to hospital for surgery! She looked at all x-rays & scans taken then called drs that gave results & called them out for not noting/telling me about the kidney stones. I was so bad she came in to see me the next morning & said how much better I was, I just cried hearing her voice, hugged her I was 1000% better thanks to her. She saved my life! Honestly, If God would have called me home – I hurt so bad I would have gone. But it was not His plan! I thank God for Megan EVERY DAY! She is good at what she does & cares! I highly recommend Megan Snyder, PA!

Dr. Zuberek is one of the best physicians I’ve known. Now that says a lot, my work has placed me in front of 100’s physicians across the area. He’s caring, educated, skilled, and very informative. Dr. Dugan listens carefully. He communicates clearly. When appropriate, he outlines options and gives his opinion while leaving choices in patient hands. The office works efficiently. I find him an easy physician with whom to talk.

Dr. Dugan always takes the extra time to answer my questions and explain in layman's terms. Also, I see the Dr. at the time of my scheduled appointment, not like many doctors where you wait to see them.

I was suffering from a medical emergency, seen by my primary doctor who referred me to OBGYN, and then had a STAT referral from my OBGYN sent to Urology of Indiana to assist with my issue. I was in pain, barely able to urinate, with a 3 cm mass obstructing my urethra. After following up on my urgent referral with Urology of Indiana 24 hours after the referral was sent- I was spoken to in a very condescending manner by the woman on the appointment line and told by her that I would not receive a call to schedule my appointment with them until three days after they received my urgent referral- at the earliest. In tears, I called Advanced Urology and without a referral, was scheduled the same week. Unfortunately I never made it to my appointment, as I ended up going to the ER in distress and was seen by hospital urologists and scheduled for surgery with a urogynecologist for a urethral diverticulum the next day. But I wanted to write this review bc this office gave me hope, was very kind to me, and I would recommend them to someone seeking a caring and attentive urologist office. As an RN for 14 years, it means the world to experience kindness as a worried patient and trying to navigate specialty care. Also to note- it is 7 days after my urgent referral was sent to Urology of Indiana and they just finally called me to set up an appointment.

Dr. Bahler was friendly and Professional and answered my question in an appropriate manner. He used big words and acted like he assumed I had a working adult brain. Often times in medicine today doctors talk down to you like you're a 7th grader and can't comprehend the complex technical knowledge they need to convey. Dr. Bahler didn't do that and I appreciate that.

I couldnt say enough good about Dr. Masterson and his team. Dr. Is very personable. Felt like he cares from the first appointment to the last. I had bladder cancer and he did 2 surgeries on me. One surgery was 9 hours long…. And today I'm cancer free. His office assistant Angie is a sweet heart. The nurses are very helpful. He is 2.5 hours from my house. I would drive further than that to see him. I'd fly to see him.

Dr, masterson was fabulous with my father and my family. He took time out of his busy schedule to visit my father post-op almost every day in the hospital for 11 days. He truly cared and explained everything to us. He was courteous, kind, and accommodating. Besides being an excellent doctor he’s an excellent person with a great team.

After being in pain for 22 years, the last 5 years so bad I had to quit work. I had Interstitial cystitis. A painful disease in the bladder. After being referred to Dr Masterson because the other urologist said I had not other options, but a Urostomy I was devastated feeling my life was cut short. I found a kind very knowledgeable, and a doctor with a lot of hope and compassion that I would be fine. What an amazing surgeon. He fixed me up and my pain is gone and I am back to work. I thank God I found Dr. Masterson.

The most horrible experience I’ve ever had with a medical office. I recently moved to a different state and have been trying to get my health checked. My doctor sent a referral, and all the paperwork was faxed the same day—it was confirmed received by Dr. Hallen’s office. It has now been over a month, and no one has called me back. I even attempted to call the DR office and nurse and left multiple voicemails, but no one has returned my calls. Please don’t go here. If the staff is this careless, how can you trust the doctor?

I was diagnosed with T2 prostate cancer and my local urologist suggested I interview Dr Koch and a radiation oncologist to explore options. There is no one consistent choice for prostate cancer treatment, but even when it is slow growing, I was hoping for a fix that would last at least 15-20 years, at my current age. We selected the daVinci surgery option. Dr Koch has done many of these surgeries each month for many years. It's good to have that experience to put to work on your case. Dr Bock and then Dr Koch in the interview visit explained their perspective on my situation and were not rushed at all. I had 3 sheets of questions. We opted for surgery. The urology unit is very organized. After the visit, we were given all the appointments from pre-op to post-op, as well as the handouts needed to get familiar with the treatment. The pre-op MRI indicated that my cancer might be advanced to Stage 3. I was worried about whether the surgery strategy would change. I emailed Dr Koch and one evening he called at the house to talk with me about the MRI and his interpretation of my situation. Surgery was at IU North and all went as planned. He was able to remove it without nerve damage and the path reports showed clear margins and no spread to lymph nodes or vesicles. He went over the surgery before I was moved to the OR and he spent time with my spouse afterward and the next morning. He was also there in the one-week visit with the excellent path reports in hand. Best of all, at one month, my PSA was undetectable. Dr Koch removed my cancer with care, humility, great bedside manner, and never seemed rushed to get on to his next appointment. I would have to say that most of my appointments occurred 15-45 minutes later than scheduled, but maybe that is because he was spending the same deliberative time with the patients before me. I was happy to wait. I am pleased to recommend Dr Koch wholeheartedly.

Called and left a voicemail to get an appointment a week ago and no return call. Completed the online form to request an appointment Tuesday (today is Friday) and also no response. This is the exact reason I've always avoided Urology of Indiana. Very poor customer service and no response to voicemails. It doesn't matter how good the doctor is is you can't get an appointment. Emergency Rooms are over used because people can't get into specialists while issues are somewhat under control.

Caring understanding. I have a very rare issue and instead of just jumping in cutting and dicing and slicing he is taking his time to research. Try to find the best way to take care of the problem. He’s a great doctor if you’re nervous or scared this is the one to go to.

Absolutely outstanding! He genuinely cares about his patients and he means everything to us. Dr. Kaimakliotis gave my husband a chance where there was none. My husband fought a good fight along with Dr. Kaimakliotis. In the end the cancer was too much to overcome. We are forever grateful for Dr. Kaimakliotis giving him the chance to live. Keep doing your good work Dr. K. You meant everything to Wayne.

If I can give this Doctor a 0, I definitely would with no hesitation. There are no words to describe how this doctor put me in a worst situation than I was in but I’ll try. HE did not take care of me and put me in a worse situation than I was in I before my surgery. My surgery was last October 2024 and I have waited a YEAR to actually say something because that’s how traumatized I am. I live every day with uncertainty about my life because the situation he put me in. My condition worsen because of him & I'm a cancer patient which may be neither nor there yet Cancers patients are still HUMAN & we don’t deserved to be treated as a "Surgery Dummies. " He deformed my body and reconstructed my body in ways No other doctor can explain. I was Admitted to another hospital for an BAD infection right after the surgery. NO doctor there could explain what he did from his notes. They even asked," what did HE do to me? and/or what was he suppose to do?!" Needless to say, the surgery wasn’t a Success because he did not do anything that he was SUPPOSE to do. Instead, he made me very disappointed in Doctors & traumatized me in unexplainable ways. My situation is worse now because of him and I live every day with additional hernias AND a HUGE hernia which includes my stomach AND colon (caused by him) and no one should ever live like that every single day, not knowing whether it will explode or cause an life treating infection. From my knowledge, I would NEVER in my life OR the Next recommend him to no one not even a dog and I love dogs!! I have one myself.. I love him dearly! He did not specialize in Hernias yet he assure me that he would get the job done. I believe it was monetary gain because as stated, he worsen the situation. He should’ve referred me to a General Surgeon if my best interest was being treated. I have seen other patients on here that gave him five stars ( great for them) , but I guess he’s selective with who he provides adequate care to. My experience involving him was/is hell and that’s an understatement so if you are looking through the reviews to see if he’s a doctor for you, I would not recommend him to anyone. Do thorough research. I strongly suggest that you find another doctor because he’s not the one. I just wish I would’ve read something like this before he cut on me. He was a referral by another IU Health doctor & I entrusted my life into his hands. Worst MISTAKE of my life. Blessings to you all expect Him. PS. And when I tried to talk to him about it ( what did actually do) in a respectful way, he dismissed me and my concerns and basically told me to get the hell on. Wow.

Frequently asked questions about urologists in Indianapolis

What is an urologist and what do they treat?

An urologist is a medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the urinary tract and male reproductive system. This includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, and prostate gland. Urologists treat a broad range of issues, from kidney stones and infections to prostate cancer and incontinence.

When should I see a urologist?

You should consult a urologist if you are experiencing any symptoms related to your urinary or male reproductive system. These can include frequent or painful urination, blood in your urine, difficulty urinating, persistent lower abdominal pain, erectile dysfunction, problems with ejaculation, or a family history of prostate issues. Don’t hesitate to seek professional medical advice if you’re concerned.

What kinds of examinations do urologists perform?

Urologists conduct a variety of examinations, including a physical exam, a urine analysis, and imaging tests like ultrasound, CT scans, and MRIs. They may also perform a prostate exam to check for any abnormalities. The specific examinations will depend on your individual symptoms and the suspected diagnosis.

What is a prostate exam and why is it important?

A prostate exam involves the urologist feeling the prostate gland through the rectum. This helps to check for enlargement, lumps, or other abnormalities, which could be signs of prostate cancer or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Early detection is crucial for effective treatment of prostate conditions.

What are common conditions treated by urologists?

Urologists treat a wide array of conditions, including urinary tract infections, kidney stones, prostate enlargement, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, incontinence (both stress and urge), erectile dysfunction, male infertility, and interstitial cystitis.

    How is erectile dysfunction treated?

Treatment for erectile dysfunction can vary depending on the underlying cause. Options include lifestyle changes, medication (such as PDE5 inhibitors), injections, vacuum devices, or surgery. A urologist can help determine the most appropriate treatment plan based on your individual needs and medical history.

What is incontinence and what are the treatment options?

Incontinence is the involuntary leakage of urine. There are different types of incontinence, and treatment options range from lifestyle modifications (such as weight loss and pelvic floor exercises) to medication, to surgical procedures. A urologist can help you identify the type of incontinence you have and develop a personalized treatment strategy.

How do I prepare for a urology appointment?

To prepare for your appointment, it's helpful to keep a record of your symptoms, including when they occur, how long they last, and any factors that seem to trigger them. Bring a list of any medications you are currently taking and any relevant medical history information. Be ready to answer questions about your lifestyle and family history.

What questions should I ask my urologist?

It’s important to ask your urologist questions to fully understand your condition and treatment options. Consider asking about their experience, the success rates of different treatments, the potential side effects of medication, and the cost of care. Don’t hesitate to ask for clarification on anything you don't understand.

How do I find a qualified urologist in Indianapolis?

You can find a qualified urologist in Indianapolis through your primary care physician’s referral, online directories like Healthgrades or Zocdoc, or by contacting professional organizations such as the American Urological Association. Consider factors like the urologist’s specialty, experience, patient reviews, and insurance acceptance when making your choice.
