Anne Droege

Andrew is amazing! The staff are all very kind and welcoming. Andrew’s zero balancing hands-on treatments relieve so much of my pain. He is very compassionate with exercises. I truly appreciate how he will change them to fit my capabilities and increase them as I improve. The stretches and exercises make me feel so much better that I actually do them at home between appointments. I never thought that I would look forward to going to physical therapy but I do! IROC is my reward at the end of a long day.

I am on week 4 of my physical therapy at IROC in Avon IN. Sean and Landon are exceptional Physical Therapists. They have isolated my problem areas and done a tremendous job helping me regain my strength and condition my core. I would rate my improvement at 80%, with a huge change in my quality of life. I highly recommend this practice. The practice is in a convenient location with ample parking.

My primary care physician referred me to IROC for significant lower back pain therapy. I started just before Thanksgiving, when the staff took me through a thorough evaluation process, which led to a personalized 12-session course of treatment beginning early-mid December. The 1-hr sessions (about 2 per week) were a mix of warmups, stretches, core strength exercises, heat applications, and massages. Home exercises were strongly recommended, and I gladly obliged. I have two more sessions remaining, but I can say now that the PT has been very effective and successful, thanks to Amy, John, and Andrew! The atmosphere is inviting, inclusive, and relaxing. Almost everyone providing and receiving therapy during my time with IROC has been abuzz with IU football conversations! Go, Hoosiers!

IROC has been a life saver for me over several years! My first stop in Indy when I return from travel or need help with arthritis, chronic disease with my back and hands! Frank is wonderfully trained as are all of his associates. I attend 2-3 times a week and it keeps me moving. It is like a family reunion, with a family you love.

I had a knee replacement 2 years ago. I have had difficulty walking/standing ever since even after undergoing physical therapy twice with a large chain. My podiatrist, Dr. Lockridge, recommended IROC and I’m so grateful she did! Frank & Sean are so knowledgeable & really care about you getting better. They listen to your concerns, pain issues, and what your goals are. Their patients are not just numbers to them but genuinely want to help them. I can not praise them enough. They are the best at what they do.

Ayden Rush

The quality of care I received at Athletico was outstanding. Thanks to the team’s expertise and attention to detail, I’ve been able to return to running with little to no issues in the area of my leg that was treated. At this point, my only limitation is cardiovascular fitness, which is a great problem to have and something that will come back with time. Knowing that my recovery has gone this smoothly makes me incredibly grateful for the work they did. Running is very important to me, and Athletico helped me get back to it safely and confidently. I truly couldn’t have done it without them. Highly recommend.

I wish I could just share my own review. The truth is myself, my brother and my mom have all been here together for knee surgery, hip surgery and a fractured ankle therapy. We have all been with therapist Emily, Brandon and Anthony. I cannot say enough positive things about these 3 individuals or the Athletico on 10935 East Washington Street! Emily and Rachel there have been a great help with bills, appointments and other things. They are a wonderful group of people! There is no where our family will ever go when we need physical therapy. Majorly impressed with these folks and their facilities! I will recommend them to anyone I know needing therapy!

My daughter had several sessions with Milli for her knee. Milli was very friendly with my daughter every single time. If Milli ever had a bad day, she didn’t show it. My daughter really responded to Milli because of Milli’s age-appropriate reactions with my daughter. It made my daughter want to come to therapy every time. In addition, the rest of the staff just exuded a pleasant and fun atmosphere to be in. Positivity all around. I am sure that attitude promotes the healing of all clients that come in. I am glad I came to this Athletico, and I will recommend it to anyone needing physical therapy.

This has been my best experience with physical therapy. I have had Physical Therapy several times throughout my life. I have found the staff very supportive and professional. They were able to identify the core issues and how to address my recovery. I had a torn meniscus which started out I wasn't able to Bear any weight on the leg to now able to do 20 to 30 minute walks daily. I'm actually above Baseline now with strength in both of my legs. I've had some issues with my hands and even after the first session starting to notice Improvement.

I went to the Broad Ripple Athletico to manage my hip and back pain in the final month of my pregnancy. The exercises they recommended and massages made the final stretch bearable. I love the Broad Ripple Athletico! This place has the best staff, they are so caring and invested in not only your health and healing but you as a person as well. I even look forward to going to my appointments because of how kind the people are!

I’ve worked with Jenna on and off over the years for a number of injuries, including a hip stress fracture that kept me from running for quite a while. As someone who loves running, that injury was incredibly tough. Jenna is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. What really sets Jenna apart is her communication skills. She takes the time to educate me, clearly explaining the risks—like what might happen if I start running too soon or push too hard—and then leaves the ball in my court, empowering me to make informed decisions about my body and limitations. Additionally, she’s created an environment where I generally feel comfortable openly sharing setbacks without fear of being judged, which has fostered quicker healing and faster turnaround times from injuries. She helps me feel in control of both my body and my progress. That kind of respect and trust is rare in the medical community and has meant a lot to me! I’m truly grateful for her care and would highly recommend her—especially if you’re a runner!

I just completed my second series of rehab at an Athletico clinic and this second experienced rivaled my first great experience. The Broad Ripple located starts with a kind greeting from Amelia at the front to friendly and fun banter between Jenna and Dan to the actual therapy schedule from Ashley, this was an excellent experience. All truly competent, courteous and wanting to heal my injury. I can highly recommend this team for any injury recovery program. This team has no rivals!

My first two stints here for leg/foot surgery and back surgery were with Jenna. She was professional and pushed me to full recovery while making it fun. Insurance covered all of those PT appointments. My insurance no longer covers Athletico. However, after my meniscus tear, I did not hesitate to return and pay out of pocket because they are that good. This time I had Dan help me and he was equally great. Their teamwork makes the environment a fabulous place to get stronger, heal and recover. I would unconditionally recommend this place and these therapists to everyone.

The spirit was very friendly the very moment I walked in. Jenna’s evaluation was right on and we put together a treatment plan that accommodated my schedule. She shared suggestions to deal with my pain until the exercises kicked in. Out of the three areas I was referred for- two were successful and for the third, Jenna referred me to a specialist she knew and trusted and I received treatment. There were a couple of times either of us or both had to reschedule and it was dealt with in a timely manner. The facility was always clean and welcoming. I actually miss going in!

My time with athletico in castleton was a great experience. The whole staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. Suzanne, the front receptionist does a great job welcoming people and is a very sweet lady. Dorthy was my main physical therapist and did an awesome job. She’s very easy to talk to and super friendly which makes the experience much better. Katie and Rachel were great too and I enjoyed to get to know them as well. Roman was very professional as well and is appreciated for helping me too. I’d highly suggest this location if you’re looking for a great experience.

I had an excellent experience at Athletico Castleton and would absolutely recommend it to anyone in need of physical therapy. From the moment I walked in, Suz at the front desk made me feel so welcome—her warmth and friendliness instantly set a positive tone for each visit. Throughout my treatment, I worked almost exclusively with Dorothy, whose vast knowledge, patience, and genuine care made a huge difference in my recovery. She took the time to explain everything clearly, always listened, and adjusted treatment based on my progress. I always felt like I was in capable, compassionate hands. Katie and Willa were also fantastic—it's clear that the whole team works together seamlessly with a shared goal of helping patients heal. Whether it was my shoulder or my ankle, I could tell they were truly passionate about what they do, and that dedication showed in the results I achieved. Thanks to their help, my shoulder and ankle are feeling so much better, and I actually looked forward to coming in each week. 100% recommend Athletico Castleton for anyone looking for thoughtful, effective care in a welcoming environment!!

I would highly recommend the Castleton Athletico. After having 4 knee surgeries and a knee replacement, I was having balance issues and experiencing severe knee pain. Both Dorothy and Katie provided personable and professional therapy. I have overachieved all of my personal goals with their guidance and care. Suzanne greats everyone with a great smile. I was having difficulty with my insurance and Suzanne spent days bringing about a satisfactory conclusion.

This place is fantastic from the front desk to the therapists! Suzanne at the front desk is so friendly and sweet. Dorothy is an amazing therapist. She has done extensive therapy for two of my children who both run track and had injuries. She understands their need to compete and helps them feel their best before competition while helping strengthen and heal their injuries. She is so sweet and puts them at ease while taking an interest in their activities. Katy has also treated them when Dorothy was off and they need a session and she has also been great. I highly recommend them.

I had an outstanding experience at Athletico Therapy. From day one, Daniel and the GM went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and supported throughout my treatment. Their client interaction is truly exceptional warm, professional, and always focused on what the patient needs. My treatment was successful, but what really stood out was the culture they’ve created. You can tell they genuinely care about helping people get better, and they live out Athletico’s values in every interaction. The teamwork, communication, and extra effort they put into accommodating patients make all the difference. I’m grateful for the level of care I received and highly recommend this location to anyone seeking a place where both the treatment and the people make you feel valued.

I’ve had an amazing experience with Athletico. All of the physical therapists and techs are incredibly passionate about their work and genuinely care about providing optimal patient care. I had two hip surgeries within four months of each other, and I can confidently say my recovery would not have been as smooth or as quick without the exceptional care from Colby and Daniel. When I was only a few days post-op and on crutches, the staff even pulled my car down from the parking garage because the elevator was broke; an example of how their patient care truly goes above and beyond. I would happily recommend Athletico to any friends or family.

I came to Athletico with a hamstring strain after running a marathon. They assessed me and I began coming to physical therapy regularly. The physical therapists, Colby & Daniel, were extremely helpful and attentive. Super friendly and great conversationalists. The physical therapists here are genuinely such nice people. They care very much about getting you back to 100% as quickly & safely as possible. They always took the time to listen to how my hamstring was feeling and catered my session around it. They set up a home plan for me and explained all the exercises. I didn't think I would enjoy physical therapy given my injury, but Athletico was such a fun environment with friendly physical therapists & student helpers who really cared about my progress.

Although I am dealing with a repaired, recently broken hip, I find the service provided by ATI Physical Therapy better than I thought possible. Hannah Knouse handled the initial interactions and Brent Stauth has handled my more recent activities. Both have been pleasant and competent, making the process of recovery a fine journey. Brent is not only very pleasant and experienced, but quite knowledgeable to answer my innumerable questions along the way. The entire group at ATI is pleasant to be around. There have been a few times when each person was handling work with more than one person, and other times when it was strictly one-on-one. I was particularly impressed by how well they handled the busy times, and I felt that at all times I received all the attention I needed.

My insurance didn't cover much of my treatment so I had to make payments. It was a lot of money so it took a while. I had made some progress chipping away at the balance, but when I made a mistake and missed a month, they sent me to collections. Gross business practice. I went here for three different rounds of treatment, but I don't plan to return. I gave two stars because I did end up getting better despite feeling like a number; the therapists were nice, but they were often working with multiple people at once. Also a bad practice. I recommend trying somewhere else.

The team members here at ATI on Capitol Ave. in Indianapolis are some of the most professional people I have ever worked with in any capacity, in any field. The way they communicate to myself, other patients, and their own coworkers is top notch. I really love this place. This is my first time in physical therapy, so I don't know how it goes in other places, but it feels like a community approach to care here. I've been with 3 different therapists so far, but they are all very familiar with me, so they have all helped multiple times during my visit. I appreciate that they really do care about their jobs and always check in with me. They never assume I can do something and are always willing to meet me where I am. I'm still early in my PT journey, but already seeing results. Love people who love what they do.

I'm so glad to have worked with Grace at Wildflower. I had physical therapy elsewhere before a friend referred me to Wildflower, and I really feel the difference that personalized, one-on-one care can have in both understanding the source of my pain and working to make it better. Grace is incredibly knowledgable and strives to get to the root of the issue. Not only has she helped with my foot pain; I'm also more aware of my own body mechanics (I didn't realize that my big toe should be doing more and, welp, I'm easily thrown off balance…) and what I need to do to get stronger. I definitely recommend her services!

As a PT myself, I can confidently say this is NOT your typical run-of-the-mill clinic. The care at Wildflower is individualized, unrushed, and truly focused on results.

I highly recommend wildflower PT if you are having any pain/issues with old injuries. Both my husband and I have been going to see Anna off and on as needed for the last six months and she has been a game changer. She is knowledgeable and seems to just "get" where my pain is and why it's there. She gives fantastic stretches, strengthening exercises and the dry needling is out of this world. Lucky to have her here in Indy!

Beyond thankful to have found Anna! Through a combination of treatments such as dry needling and cupping, along with exercises to help retrain my body to prevent further injury, I am 100% better than I was beforehand. Her demeanor is kind, energetic, and approachable. I always felt comfortable asking questions, and never felt rushed or dismissed. The tools she has given me will help me for years to come, but if I ever need PT work in the future she’ll be the first person I call!

Grace has been amazing!!! I was having terrible neck/back/shoulder/arm pain and numbness. I was a mess. I had done dry needling before but never in a physical therapy style setting. My issue is slowly getting better, but the dry needling, electro, cupping and physical therapy has been a Godsend. From the first session I could tell a huge difference. Not to mention Grace even provided some exercises to my wife after learning of some things that she had going on. I’d give 10 stars if I could. Thank you!

Grace has helped me so much in just 2 months. The pain I get from hypermobility has decreased significantly thanks to a combination of dry needling and gentle exercise. Grace also helps provide tools and exercises for handling the weakness and fatigue from my POTS. The entire team is compassionate, intelligent, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that their patients are taken care of.

Have only done my first visit, but it was terrific! Brian listened to my concerns, was very patient and gentle but effective with my shoulder 2 weeks post surgery. The app to lead and log my at home sessions is great too. Definitely recommend!

Awesome, Awesome place to Rehab and Laid back environment. Everyone is polite and helpful My therapist Brian S. made my entire 6 month process easy, I was very discouraged and inpatient but He was very Patient and his vibe is relaxing and always tried to make me feel good/ok about my progress and where i was at , at the time. I would recommend any rehab here. I LOVE the fact it is clean and that Brian provided me with my own personal Fan while doing my exercises for my out of control Hott flashes !!!

Morgan and her team are phenomenal at what they do. After surgery for a torn meniscus, I was recommended to her by my surgeon and couldn't be happier with the results. Every visit Morgan crafted a custom care and exercise routine to react to my pain and help me regain full strength and range of motion. There were times when I thought maybe my surgery had failed, but Morgan coached me through how my progress was adjusting my gait and what muscles needed to work harder. I was legitimately shocked at how some minor changes and exercises helped me long term. If you're in need of PT and want top level care, Morgan is the therapist to work with.

I want to start off by saying i love Dr. Berrios, but his nurse, Nurse Jodie, has completely made me want to switch who I see. She is always rude anytime im on the phone with her, and treats me as if im only looking for drugs. I love my doctor, but if his only triage nurse is going to act like that to his patients, it makes his entire establishment seem unprofessional and im at my wits in trying to receive help

Frequently asked questions about physical therapists in Indianapolis

What exactly does a physical therapist do?

Physical therapists are healthcare professionals who evaluate, diagnose, and treat movement disorders and promote optimal physical function. They help patients recover from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries by designing individualized treatment plans that include exercises, manual therapy, and modalities like heat, cold, and ultrasound. Their goal is to restore movement and reduce pain.

How do I know if I need a physical therapist?

You may need a physical therapist if you’re experiencing any of the following: persistent pain, limited range of motion, weakness, stiffness, difficulty with mobility, or recovering from a sports injury, surgery, stroke, or neurological condition. If you've been advised to consult a physical therapist by your primary care physician or orthopedic specialist, it’s often a good idea to seek their expertise.

What types of conditions do physical therapists treat?

Physical therapists treat a remarkably broad range of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries (such as sprains, strains, and tendinitis), cardiopulmonary conditions (post-surgery rehabilitation), neurological disorders (stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis), orthopedic conditions (arthritis, osteoporosis), and pediatric conditions (cerebral palsy, developmental delays). The specific treatment will be tailored to the patient’s needs.

What can I expect during a physical therapy session?

A typical physical therapy session involves a thorough evaluation to assess your condition. This may include range-of-motion testing, strength testing, and neurological assessments. Based on the evaluation, the physical therapist will develop a treatment plan, which might involve manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, gait training, and patient education. They will guide and instruct you throughout the session, ensuring proper form and technique.

What kind of exercises will I be doing?

The exercises you’ll perform will be highly individualized, depending on your specific condition and goals. They may include range-of-motion exercises, strengthening exercises (using weights, resistance bands, or body weight), stretching exercises, balance training, and coordination exercises. The therapist will carefully monitor your progress and adjust the exercises accordingly to maximize your rehabilitation.

How long does physical therapy typically last?

The length of physical therapy treatment varies considerably, depending on the severity of your condition, your goals, and your response to treatment. Some patients may require only a few sessions, while others may need several weeks or months of consistent treatment. A realistic timeline should be established with your physical therapist, focusing on achieving sustainable progress and functional independence.

Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist in Indianapolis?

While not always required, a referral from your physician can often expedite the process and ensure proper coordination of care. However, you can self-refer to a physical therapist in Indianapolis; many practices accept patients without a referral. It’s always wise to inform your primary care provider about your intention to seek physical therapy.

What should I wear to my physical therapy appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Athletic shorts or sweatpants and a t-shirt are ideal. You’ll likely be asked to remove your shoes and shirt during certain exercises, so layering clothing can be helpful. Avoid wearing restrictive clothing or jewelry that could interfere with your treatment. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.

How much do physical therapy sessions cost in Indianapolis?

The cost of physical therapy sessions varies depending on the location of the practice, the therapist’s experience, and the type of insurance coverage you have. Generally, self-pay rates range from approximately $75 to $150 per session. It's crucial to check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage and copay requirements. Payment plans are often available.

What are the benefits of continuing physical therapy exercises at home?

Continuing your prescribed exercises at home is crucial for maintaining progress and preventing re-injury. Your physical therapist will provide you with a home exercise program and teach you proper techniques. Consistent home exercise strengthens muscles, improves flexibility, and reinforces the skills learned in therapy. Adherence to your home program is key to achieving long-term recovery goals.
