Even non-athletes can benefit from physical therapy, and I’m one of those people! IROC has been a godsend for me. Each patient receives personalized treatment from experienced, educated therapists. The atmosphere of the entire place is upbeat and friendly, while still respecting each client’s privacy. My wonderful therapist, Amy, even knew how to cure a vertigo issue that I was experiencing!! I look forward to each session and leave feeling much healthier and happier than when I arrived. Ellen

I’ve only been to IROC Physical Therapy a couple of times so far, but it already feels like home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the owner being one of the therapists working directly with clients really sets the tone. It’s a refreshing change from the big corporate clinics like—IROC offers the same high-quality therapies, but with a much more personal, down-to-earth feel. You can tell they genuinely care.

I can’t say enough good things about IROC Physical Therapy and Amy! After trying numerous places and treatments for my back pain, I finally found real relief here. Amy’s expertise and personalized care have made all the difference. She takes the time to understand exactly what’s going on and tailors each session to target the problem areas. The results have been amazing—I’m feeling better than I have in a long while. I highly recommend IROC to anyone struggling with any type of muscle pain. Not only is the care exceptional, but everyone at IROC is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making each visit a positive experience. It’s truly a game changer!

I’m pleased to recommend IROC Physical Therapy on 86th Street. The staff was friendly and supportive. After breaking my femur, I really needed PT to help me manage discomfort and walk without a walker or other devices. Andrew designed the PT program that worked wonders. He continued to modify the exercises and add new ones to keep me making steady progress. I’m so grateful to him and to the entire staff for the support they gave me.

The whole staff is great! The moment you walk into the door, everyone is greeting you by name. I’ve had two back surgeries in less than a year, and Brandon has helped me rehab from both of them. I’ve also worked with Millie and Emily, and they’re both fantastic! Everyone’s incredibly knowledgeable, and they make sure to cater their treatment to your specific needs.
I’ve always had an active lifestyle, so Brandon has done a great job at giving me exercises specifically to get back to running and other activities I enjoy doing. He has safely pushed me and as a result, I have gained back my strength and confidence with movement. I would highly recommend going here for your physical therapy!

All of the staff here are wonderful, thoughtful, and intelligent. I have been working with Brandon, specifically, and he has helped me prepare for and recover from 2 surgeries across the last 6 months.
Having previously gone to more 1:1 pt with separate rooms, I was surprised to learn how much better I liked Athletico’s approach. You still get individualized attention, but have space to focus on your mechanics while getting in reps. Due to Brandon’s attentiveness and expertise, I ended up getting way more variable exercises, detailed explanations, mechanics corrections, and individual attention than I had at previous clinics. Not to mention far better outcomes.
For context, I had a very frustrating 8 months of unclear imaging and PT at IU health. I was eventually referred to a surgeon who then referred me here for post-op PT on my left knee. Brandon helped me get back to walking, squatting, and biking AND helped fix my walking mechanics (which had not really been addressed in the prior 8 months) and then he did it all over again after I decided to get a cartilage repair surgery (MACI). I think the work we did between my first and second surgeries played a critical role in my relatively quick recovery. I just had my 4 month post op visit with my surgeon and he indicated that we are progressing faster and with far less clicking (virtually none) than most other surgeries of this caliber and that is due to Brandon’s hard work and his ability to balance pushing me within the limits of the recovery process.
Vibes are great too – everyone is hanging out and joking around. It makes it a very enjoyable place to spend an hour or so while giving your body the movement it needs.

I had shoulder surgery and was advised to go to Community Hospital PT. I choose Athletico instead because of all the good reviews I had read. I did have a good Physical Therapist. She worked with me two times a week for a week and a half. I told her I could not afford three times per week so we went to two, Every time I arrived I paid $25.00, my co-pay from My Tru Advantage. They never told me what each session cost BUT neither did I ask. I thought insurance took care of it, except my part: $25.00. Little did I know that one moth after PT was over I would receive a bill for $1,800.00, Due NOW. When I looked at the bill I was charged 4 different prices for 11 sessions. I called the number on the bill and asked what the difference was. She could not answer me but told me she would look into it and call me back…. never heard from her. The least was $258.00 and the most $531.00, with two other prices in between. So beware

The people at Athletico Physical Therapy in Warren Township are the best. You are greeted with smiles starting with Emily, the very helpful office Administrator. Milli, my Therapist, was informative and thorough doing my evaluations. Her treatment plans have improved my strength, flexibility, and mobility. She is encouraging, and supportive. She always asks you how you physically are doing and will adjust that day’s treatment accordingly. She is awesome. Anthony is another very capable person to work with. When called upon, Rachel has helped me perform some exercises, making sure I do them correctly. This is the only place I want to go to for my physical therapy needs.

Select Therapy is simply the best….starting with Maria and Amber at the front desk. They both are so welcoming and schedule appts with a smile! The therapists are absolutely wonderful as well. Zahir is very knowledgeable and an excellent communicator. I have noticed significant improvement in my knee since I’ve been working with him. I’m truly grateful for his hands-on treatments and expertise on knee recovery. I have also worked with Bill and Megan a couple times. They are both excellent as well, offering different treatments to encourage my recovery journey. The environment at Select Therapy is so relaxing and all the therapists fill the room with kindness!
They go above and beyond with patient care!

Alexa was a wonderful therapist who was patient and kind with me. I came in with a rotator injury..a torn tendon.. and she has worked to get my range of motion increased as well as strength back into my arm so that I can accomplish nearly all of my tasks. It is a great atmosphere to be in with caring and competent staff! I highly recommend them!

At this point I have had four visits to Select Physical Therapy and I find the personnel to be very attentive to my needs. I have been associated with three PT’s at this time and each one made me feel comfortable, gave me all their attention and took good care of me and my balance issue. At 88 years of age, I don’t believe anyone can “cure” it but the PT’s are helping me to cope with the issue. I am quite satisfied that all they are doing is beneficial.

I love this physical therapy clinic. Julius, Zahir, Bill, and Sarah are excellent therapists and are very personable and friendly. They push me and encourage me. I’ve only had been with them for 2 weeks, and I already notice a significant difference in my mobility and pain level. Anna Maria is the receptionist, and she’s super friendly too. All the patients are really nice, and we encourage each other. I highly recommend this clinic.

I was in a water skiing accident and had 3 surgeries on my shoulder. The last surgery was a total shoulder replacement. Marcus was my physical therapist throughout my recovery and he is wonderful at what he does. Marcus is very thorough, knowledgeable, and very personable. Using a variety of techniques, Marcus has been able to help me regain my range of motion and strengthen the muscles that support my shoulder. Marcus used manual therapy, soft tissue mobilization techniques, dry needling, and other techniques to help get me back nearly full range of motion. Every time I went to follow-up doctor’s appointments my doctors were always amazed at the progress in my range of motion and I attribute that to Marcus and his expertise. He is already very knowledgeable but he also seems to always be learning something new. Maria at the front desk was also very kind and personable.
Marcus is a fantastic physical therapist and I plan to recommend him to anyone I come across looking for a PT.

☆ 5/5
I chose Select Physical Therapy for work on an injury to my shoulder. I was skeptical that PT would be helpful given prior experiences that did not solve my troubles with my back. However, I am happy to report that in only a month of work with Marcus I have regained pain-free full range of motion and improved stability and strength in my shoulder. Marcus listens carefully and tailored therapy to my exact needs. He is very hands on, making sure to assist movements so that I could learn proper mechanics. Furthermore, Marcus is dedicated to teaching his patients about the physiology and mechanics of the area for which they need therapy.
I always received great attention and I have improved beyond what I thought was possible. I am looking forward to continued strengthening to return to my regular physical exercise.

I had an excellent experience at Athletico Castleton and would absolutely recommend it to anyone in need of physical therapy. From the moment I walked in, Suz at the front desk made me feel so welcome—her warmth and friendliness instantly set a positive tone for each visit.
Throughout my treatment, I worked almost exclusively with Dorothy, whose vast knowledge, patience, and genuine care made a huge difference in my recovery. She took the time to explain everything clearly, always listened, and adjusted treatment based on my progress. I always felt like I was in capable, compassionate hands.
Katie and Willa were also fantastic—it’s clear that the whole team works together seamlessly with a shared goal of helping patients heal. Whether it was my shoulder or my ankle, I could tell they were truly passionate about what they do, and that dedication showed in the results I achieved.
Thanks to their help, my shoulder and ankle are feeling so much better, and I actually looked forward to coming in each week. 100% recommend Athletico Castleton for anyone looking for thoughtful, effective care in a welcoming environment!!

This place is fantastic from the front desk to the therapists! Suzanne at the front desk is so friendly and sweet. Dorothy is an amazing therapist. She has done extensive therapy for two of my children who both run track and had injuries. She understands their need to compete and helps them feel their best before competition while helping strengthen and heal their injuries. She is so sweet and puts them at ease while taking an interest in their activities. Katy has also treated them when Dorothy was off and they need a session and she has also been great. I highly recommend them.

I was having difficulty with my insurance and Suzanne spent days bringing about a satisfactory conclusion.

I really love this place. This is my first time in physical therapy, so I don’t know how it goes in other places, but it feels like a community approach to care here. I’ve been with 3 different therapists so far, but they are all very familiar with me, so they have all helped multiple times during my visit. I appreciate that they really do care about their jobs and always check in with me. They never assume I can do something and are always willing to meet me where I am. I’m still early in my PT journey, but already seeing results. Love people who love what they do.

Insane and unethical billing practices. If you haven’t met your deductible, they charge you $50 up front before each visit, and then if your insurance ends up paying for the visits (as mine did) they don’t refund your money. And on top of that, they billed me $51.32 for downloading their ATI Physical therapy app that I never wanted and never used, I only downloaded it because I got an email that my physical therapist had sent me a message and I had to download the app to view it. Surprise surprise. There was no message from my PT, just some automated message. Ridiculous. I called to have the charge removed and they said they couldn’t because it was “legitimate”. Sounds illegal to me. There was NO mention that there was a charge for downloading the app.
There are sooo many good places to go got PT, do not go here.

Had a terrible experience here. PT did not pay attention to me and would just give me exercises to do while chatting with their coworkers and other clients. Quit after 2 sessions because I felt I could do better at home with the internet for free. Now doing PT through IU Health and having a SIGNIFICANTLY better experience.

I think ATI is just fantastic so far. I’ve only been there three times, but it doesn’t seem like a physical therapy atmosphere. They make you feel comfortable, and it is evident that they love their jobs. I love the fact that they work as a team, you can be working with one therapist one minute, and the next minute somebody else jumps in because they’re needed, and you don’t really realize the transition. If you need physical therapy, this is the place to go.

I’ve worked with Jenna on and off over the years for a number of injuries, including a hip stress fracture that kept me from running for quite a while. As someone who loves running, that injury was incredibly tough.
Jenna is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. What really sets Jenna apart is her communication skills. She takes the time to educate me, clearly explaining the risks—like what might happen if I start running too soon or push too hard—and then leaves the ball in my court, empowering me to make informed decisions about my body and limitations.
Additionally, she’s created an environment where I generally feel comfortable openly sharing setbacks without fear of being judged, which has fostered quicker healing and faster turnaround times from injuries. She helps me feel in control of both my body and my progress. That kind of respect and trust is rare in the medical community and has meant a lot to me!
I’m truly grateful for her care and would highly recommend her—especially if you’re a runner!

I went to the Broad Ripple Athletico to manage my hip and back pain in the final month of my pregnancy. The exercises they recommended and massages made the final stretch bearable. I love the Broad Ripple Athletico! This place has the best staff, they are so caring and invested in not only your health and healing but you as a person as well. I even look forward to going to my appointments because of how kind the people are!

The spirit was very friendly the very moment I walked in. Jenna’s evaluation was right on and we put together a treatment plan that accommodated my schedule. She shared suggestions to deal with my pain until the exercises kicked in. Out of the three areas I was referred for- two were successful and for the third, Jenna referred me to a specialist she knew and trusted and I received treatment. There were a couple of times either of us or both had to reschedule and it was dealt with in a timely manner. The facility was always clean and welcoming. I actually miss going in!

The area for therapy is small, but very adequate – it has a “personal” feel to it. The therapists are friendly, attentive, and like one another. My therapist, Jenna, is always optimistic and, with each session, introduces me to a variety of exercises to build up my weak muscles. And, important to me, Jenna has a great sense of humor.

I came to Athletico with a hamstring strain after running a marathon. They assessed me and I began coming to physical therapy regularly. The physical therapists, Colby & Daniel, were extremely helpful and attentive. Super friendly and great conversationalists.
The physical therapists here are genuinely such nice people. They care very much about getting you back to 100% as quickly & safely as possible. They always took the time to listen to how my hamstring was feeling and catered my session around it. They set up a home plan for me and explained all the exercises.
I didn’t think I would enjoy physical therapy given my injury, but Athletico was such a fun environment with friendly physical therapists & student helpers who really cared about my progress.

I went to Athletico for rehab on a broken humerus and I worked with Colby and Daniel for about two months. They were very knowledgeable as well as encouraging which was definitely what I needed. After a few sessions with them I felt more like a friend instead of a patient. These guys are great, and I highly recommend coming here if you ever find yourself needing PT. Also, the rehab aids were very kind and helpful as well!

The team at Athletico (Monument Circle) is top notch! Friendly, thorough, knowledgeable, encouraging, and caring. Speaking to Katelyn on the phone to make my appointment gave me the first glimpse of this teams professionalism and warmth. Being greeted and put through the paces by Zach, Will, Kate, and Brooke with help from Angel, Rachel, Daniel, and Collin always put a smile on my face! The students/assistants always seem open to asking questions before proceeding and are given instant guidance that allows them to continue with hands on learning. This environment is a perfect setting for healing and restoring patient faith in the medical community. The leadership at this location takes the time to teach, mentor, and encourage the next generation of physical therapists to go above and beyond to provide excellent patient care. With Matt H., Daniel H., and Colby H. in charge, I believe they will have an amazing impact on the care that the junior therapists will provide in the future. Colby and Daniel allowed me to laugh through my pain, listened to my concerns and adjusted my care accordingly. After a 2020 surgery, I’d lost hope that I would ever be able to walk without a limp. I thought I would have to continue to endure daily pain, stiffness, muscle fatigue, and spasms. After the first 3 weeks, I felt empowered to move more and walk on uneven ground. I’ve found myself not needing my leg braces and having to use less pain medication (topical and oral). At the 6 week mark, I can now walk for a mile without crying in pain. I can walk barefoot without dragging my foot and favoring one side. My balance has improved exponentially and I have increased my physical activity.

I highly recommend wildflower PT if you are having any pain/issues with old injuries. Both my husband and I have been going to see Anna off and on as needed for the last six months and she has been a game changer. She is knowledgeable and seems to just “get” where my pain is and why it’s there. She gives fantastic stretches, strengthening exercises and the dry needling is out of this world. Lucky to have her here in Indy!

Anna and Grace are wonderful! Grace—who mainly instructed me—was particularly sweet and guided me through multiple
no-nonsense, extremely informative one-hour therapy sessions; sending me off with homework/exercises to try at home or at the gym to pursue my fitness goals beyond our time at the clinic. I left every weekly session feeling more capable and confident in my ability to heal my body and become strong; all without breaking the bank. I absolutely will be singing the highest praises to anybody who will listen. Go team wildflower!!

I signed up for 6 weeks of PT with Anna Thomas for chronic back pain and muscle tightness I’ve had for several years.
Anna was so great! She helped figure out exercises that targeted my specific issues and dry needled key areas of my back. Also most importantly taught me great breathing exercises and warmups. The progress I’ve made has inspired me to continue exercising and strengthening my body for everyday life. Anna is very experienced and knowledgeable about how the muscles all work together, and can easily pinpoint your weak points. She helped me a lot, I’m thankful for her help!

My physical therapist name is Nick Casey and he is amazing! He checks on my progress every day. He moves at my pace and comfortability. My sessions seems like mini therapy sessions at times because he checks on my mental health as well. It’s like talking to a friend or family member during our session so the time moves fast. I would recommend him to everyone who needs help with physical therapy.!! It feels like your progress and healing is his main priority. I can’t say enough about how amazing he is I love going to my sessions every week!! If you need physical therapy I say ask for Nick, he is very accommodating to your needs! HE IS THE BEST!!!

I’ve been going to PT at OrthoIndy Northwest off and on for almost 2 years. I first started going after a right total knee replacement. Madison was absolutely fabulous. She was encouraging, positive, super easy to talk to, and very kind. After having a left total hip replacement 6 months later I requested to have PT with Madison again. Just a year later I’m in PT again for my back and neck but I’m working with Nick this time. Nick is also kind, knowledgeable, and positive.
Even the front desk staff has been really nice and so very easy to work with, as far as insurance questions, scheduling, and general questions.
I highly recommend OrthoIndy Northwest!

With two surgeries and almost one year of PT, I couldn’t have asked for better therapists. Megan was excellent in providing the right exercises to help me recover and continue with my home therapy. Celeste was also excellent and attentive to what worked best for me. I trust OrthoIndy’s Doctors and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Dr. Matt Hall was fantastic – very thoughtful, explained everything clearly, and was compassionate. All appointments were on time to start and end sessions. The facility was easy to get to.
When I started at OrthoIndy, I had terrible back pain and hip pain, and Dr. Matt’s guidance helped alleviate it and gave me tactics to take forward with me so I can continue life pain-free.

This was my first time needing PT and everyone here made it so comfortable and less stressful than anticipated. Kelly was FANTASTIC! My ankle felt 100% better every day after she worked on it. Dorothy was attentive with scheduling and always welcoming when I arrived. Jay was also great as well as both of the Drew’s. They do a lot of teaching and training, which is great. I’m grateful that I was sent to this location, or at least to these people.

From the front desk staff Dorothy to the interns and the PT I worked with (Kelly) I had a great experience with them all. They created a welcoming environment for their patients. Dorthy was so helpful when it came to insurance and scheduling. Dorthy and Kelly went above and beyond to talk to insurance and was able to get me a few more sessions (You never know what insurance will do but I appreciated their efforts in trying to help me). Kelly the PT I worked with was friendly, knowledgeable, and communication was great. I actually looked forward to my morning sessions because we chatted and laughed which helped because recovering from an injury can be frustrating to say the least. The place also was clean and organized. I would highly recommend this location if you need physical therapy.

I can’t say enought positive affirmations about Athetico here off Southport Road. I have been to this location before and both times I had a positve experience.
I have been to different P.T. companies for previous injuries and never have I received the detailed care like I have at this location. I felt like I was shown some exercises then thrown to the wolves. Not so here. Kelly was not only attentive with every visit, but she challenged me without pushing me too hard. She watched me and made sure I was doing the exercises correctly. She would call me out if I wasn’t. Thanks Kelly. ❤️
I felt cared for by all the staff I had interacted with.
Secduling was an easy process and if I had a scheduling conflict, all I had to do is call. There was never judgemet from anyone at this office. I appreciate this. The staff and myself had the same goal, for me to get better and stronger.
I also liked the app that walked me through my exercises Kelly set up.
Periodically I would have to take an assessment, on the app, to let Kelly know how I was doing. I appreciate this assessment because it was not only quick, but I can visually see my progrees at the end of each assessment. Data points of all my previous assessments were charted for me.
I could see as well as feel myself getting better.
I will never go anyplace else.
Thank you all so much.

I’ve evidently been running with a weak hip for years, causing me a lot of pain, and finally decided to do something about it! I am so glad that by sheer chance I ended up working with Viresh. I’m on my way to faster and stronger than I’ve been in years! The attitude of the entire staff was super positive and fun. I always looked forward to going, and left feeling like I’d made progress. I also always understood what I needed to do in my homework, as well as why I needed to do it. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone needing any PT.

Consultations and Legal Guidance
In Indianapolis, civil attorneys provide comprehensive consultations and legal guidance to evaluate the merits of a case, discuss potential strategies, and outline the steps needed to move forward. They undertake a thorough review of facts, identify statutory deadlines, and examine relevant case law to set realistic expectations. This foundational work helps clients understand possible outcomes, risks, and the resources required to pursue a resolution. Throughout the process, clear communication and transparency remain central to building a trusted attorney-client relationship.
Contract Drafting and Review
For individuals and organizations in Indianapolis, contract drafting and review services aim to produce agreements that are precise, enforceable, and fair. Attorneys highlight liability provisions, indemnification, and dispute resolution clauses, ensuring terms align with state and local regulations. They also assess confidentiality, non-compete considerations, and privacy protections to minimize exposure and prevent ambiguities that could lead to later disputes.
Dispute Resolution and Mediation
Civil attorneys in Indianapolis emphasize alternative dispute resolution as an efficient path to settlement. They coordinate mediation and, when appropriate, arbitration to help parties reach amicable agreements while preserving relationships. Attorneys prepare case summaries, assemble supporting documentation, and draft settlement agreements that reflect agreed terms and protect clients’ interests. This approach can reduce costs and shorten timelines compared with full litigation.
Personal Injury and Civil Claims
In civil practice, personal injury claims involve representing individuals who have sustained injuries due to others’ negligence or wrongful acts. Indiana-specific procedures include managing filing deadlines, gathering comprehensive medical records, and negotiating with insurers to secure compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Attorneys also work to document economic damages and pursue appropriate remedies through settlement or, if necessary, trial.
Property, Real Estate Disputes, and Title Issues
Civil attorneys address property disputes such as boundary disagreements, title defects, and zoning concerns, as well as issues arising from lease negotiations and property transactions. They guide clients through Indiana and local court procedures, conduct title reviews, and help secure ownership rights and clear titles, minimizing risk in real estate ventures.
Employment Law and Workplace Matters
Within employment law, civil attorneys represent employees and employers in disputes involving discrimination, harassment, wage disputes, and wrongful termination. They assist with policy development, employee handbooks, and compliance with state and federal employment laws to promote fair and lawful workplaces.
Family Law and Domestic Relations
In family-related civil matters, attorneys provide guidance on divorce, child custody, support, and property division. They work to protect clients’ rights while prioritizing the best interests of children, navigating Indiana statutes, and coordinating with custodial arrangements, mediation, and, when needed, court proceedings to achieve stable outcomes.
Debt Collection and Creditor Rights
For creditors and financial institutions, civil attorneys discuss debt collection strategies and the enforcement of judgments. They advise on remedies such as wage garnishment, liens, and asset recovery, while ensuring adherence to ethical standards and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Indiana regulations to protect both creditors and debtors.
Frequently asked questions about physical therapists in Indianapolis
What is a physical therapist and what do they do?
A Physical Therapist is a licensed healthcare professional who focuses on movement, function, and quality of life. They perform an evaluation of your condition, diagnose contributing factors, and design a comprehensive treatment plan aimed at reducing pain, restoring strength and range of motion, and helping you return to daily activities. PTs use evidence-based techniques such as therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and patient education to empower you to manage symptoms and prevent future problems.
What kind of education and licensure do physical therapists in Indianapolis have?
Most physical therapists hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree and are credentialed by the Indiana State Board of Physical Therapy. They must pass the national licensing exam (often the NPTE) and meet ongoing continuing education requirements to maintain their license. Some PTs pursue board-certified specialties in areas like orthopedics or neurology to deepen expertise.
How do I know if I should see a physical therapist in Indianapolis?
If you have persistent pain, limited range of motion, weak or imbalanced muscles, or trouble with daily activities, a physical therapist can help. Indiana allows many patients to access PT through direct access, meaning you may begin therapy without a physician referral. If you have red flags such as severe numbness, loss of bowel or bladder control, or suspicion of a fracture, seek urgent medical care first and involve a PT when appropriate.
What conditions do physical therapists treat in Indianapolis?
PTs treat a broad range of conditions, including back and neck pain, knee or hip injuries, sports injuries, post-surgical rehab, arthritis, and balance or vestibular disorders. They also assist with stroke recovery, neuromuscular conditions, and chronic pain management, all with the goal of improving function and preventing recurrence.
What should I expect at my first physical therapy visit?
During the initial evaluation, the PT gathers your medical history, performs a physical examination, and assesses your functional goals. They will explain your diagnosis, discuss a plan of care, and outline the proposed treatment modalities, which may include therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and lifestyle or activity modifications. A clear home exercise program is typically provided to support progress between visits.
How many visits might I need and how are visits billed?
The number of visits varies based on your condition, severity, and response to treatment. PTs tailor plans with regular progress checks. Billing depends on your insurance network, and you may have an in-network or out-of-network arrangement, copays, or a per-visit fee. It’s important to confirm costs and any required preauthorization or referrals during the initial discussion.
What should I bring to physical therapy in Indianapolis?
Bring your insurance card, any referral if required, a photo ID, and a list of medications and recent imaging results if available. Wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes suitable for movement tests and exercises. If you have assistive devices, bring them to your first session so the PT can incorporate them into your plan.
Can physical therapy help with injuries from sports or accidents?
Yes. A physical therapist can provide injury assessment, a structured rehabilitation plan, and return-to-play criteria for athletes. PTs tailor progressive exercise, manual techniques, and functional testing to help you regain strength, flexibility, and balance after injuries or accidents.
Are there different types of physical therapy approaches I should know about?
There are multiple approaches, including manual therapy (hands-on techniques), therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, and gait training. PTs may also use modalities like electrical stimulation, ultrasound, or cold/heat therapy, and some clinics offer aquatic therapy or telehealth options and a personalized home exercise program for ongoing progress.
How do I choose a physical therapist in Indianapolis?
When selecting a PT, consider credentials, experience with your condition, location and hours, and whether your insurance network is covered. Read patient reviews, ask about treatment philosophy, and request an initial consultation to gauge communication style and comfort level. A good fit supports your goals and motivates consistent participation in your plan.
