Chris Ripperger

Extremely satisfied with my experience at ARC! I was referred here by a fellow member and loved its convenient location. When I walked in for the first time, I knew ARC was going to be different from my previous gym experiences. This is a professional environment with results from hard work and consistency showing up in every corner of the place. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly understanding and empathetic on my "off" days. They also know exactly how to deliver the tough love when I need that, too. I’ve been a member since February 2025 and have lost 50 pounds in that time, but also gained a community and best of all, self respect. Highly recommend 👍

My wife and I have been members for around 2 months now and love it! The environment is great. The community is welcoming and friendly. Mornings are quiet. The equipment is perfect for someone looking for more than big, commercial gyms can provide. All around solid.

I have been training with Adam for almost a year and learning about body building. He is extremely knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition. Adam cares about his clients and helping them to achieve their health goals. ARC is a great gym for those looking to level up. They offer classes, training, and nutrition with awesome equipment you won’t find in large chain gyms. If you are looking for a more personalized experience ARC is for you!

ARC Fitness has been amazing for my fitness journey. The coaches actually pay attention, the workouts are well thought out, and the environment pushes you without feeling overwhelmed. The people are friendly, the space is clean, and everything runs the way a gym should. I’ve seen real progress since joining, and it’s one of the few gyms I’ve been to where I actually look forward to showing up. Highly recommend.

Arc Fitness is hands down one of the best training experiences I’ve had. From day one, the coaches took the time to understand my goals, my limitations, and what actually motivates me, instead of just throwing me into a generic program. The coaching is professional, attentive, and very detail-oriented. Every session feels purposeful—whether it’s improving strength, fixing movement issues, or building consistency. You can tell they genuinely care about long-term results, not just short-term sweat. The atmosphere is supportive without being intimidating, and the community makes it easy to stay accountable. If you’re serious about improving your health, performance, and confidence, Arc Fitness is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend.

By far one of the best gyms. Adam, the owner has always been a stand up guy with integrity and the drive to help others. It’s not your typical gym as this focuses on personal growth and promotes good energy. They made a profound difference in my life, and I’m very grateful. A+ all the way around from personal fitness, to goals and nutrition.

Staff is friendly and welcoming. Super convenient location. Regardless of the time of day I come in, I have had no issues with competing for space to get my workout done. Cardio equipment is excellent and there is a great variety of exercise machines. I appreciate their emphasis on community and working to help people achieve their goals in a healthy way. They offer a variety of services: personal training, small group training, nutrition guidance, workout programming, and even provide nutritious meals stocked in their fridge that include macros listed for their clients. I am excited to see them continue to grow and build off of what they already have.

I have been a member for about a year and a half – before I joined I didn’t think I would ever run again not only can I run a mile under 10 minutes now but I’m stronger than I’ve been since high school and I just turned 40! The coaches are great about working with a range of abilities – I feel challenged but not intimidated! I highly recommend you give this location and orange theory a try!

I joined OT Downtown Indy when there was a flood in the gym in my building. I figured it wold be a brief maybe 2mth commitment until my gym was renovated. I've been a member of tons of gyms in my life. I have never experienced an environment like this one though. Not only is every single member of the staff incredibly welcoming and helpful, the coaches are all insanely supportive and encouraging. I was recently traveling and I went to a couple OT's out of state. I was SO HAPPY to come back to this one! Compared to the others it was like night and day. This one is SO spacious. And bright. And impeccably maintained. I can't say enough good things about this location:) Needless to say, even though the gym in my building has been open for months, I couldn't imagine OT not being a part of my day anymore. It has breathed new life into my working out, and I've met some really awesome people!

I came back from being gone for almost 2 years and the staff welcome me back and have been super helpful! Today was a relay and it was hard but it helps me disconnect from work (I work in education & operations) right now it’s the BUSIEST season and it’s helpful to just come in do my workout and feel great!

Five star staff and facility, two star 2025 schedule. I strongly feel that strength 50 is a hidden gem of OTF. I do enjoy the 2G classic format; however, after being able to attend strength 50 for about a year and half I believe these classes are what really improved my physique and gave me new confidence around weight training I never had before. They allowed me to lift weight in a class setting and with a coach – which for me was much more comfortable than going to a gym and trying to figure out a training program for myself or finding a personal trainer. I was able to find a balance of strength 50 and 2G classes that really worked for me and made me feel my best and unfortunately, coming into 2025 60% of my class schedule was eliminated with the removal of 8PM evening classes (and the Saturday 90 minute which I loved). I 100% respect and understand the impact these changes have on me are not the same for everyone but it was and remains to be a huge disappointment that there is not any emphasis on strength 50. The only other times to take strength (and tread 50) are at 10:45AM Mon-Fri which due to work I can't attend. If I'm lucky, on occasional Fridays I may be able to squeeze in the 3:10PM lower body, and sometimes the Saturday 11:20AM total body. I do still enjoy OTF, and will continue to attend the 2G class formats for the time being but, considering I can look up the strength 50 class templates on Reddit (and because the amazing coaching staff DT gave me confidence to lift heavy) it's not an impossibility that in the future I could see myself canceling my membership and chance it on my own at the YMCA. Again, I love the community and I love the staff. Honestly, out of other OTF studios I've been to we are so, so spoiled to have natural light, up to date equipment, and treads in front of windows! Perhaps in the future ownership might consider evaluating the studio schedule as a whole and provide more dynamic options rather than just simply cutting the classes that are least attended.

My boyfriend and I really like coming to this gym. They are always welcoming and always encouraging to members! One employee for sure who always make sure I am good when I see her around is my girl Bre✨ she handles her job very well and gets it done! Between helping members and help keeping the gym clean is a bonus! Every time I see her at the front desk my mood goes even more up! But as a whole team I appreciate EVERYONE in there !

I've been a member of GET FIT for almost a year now and it's been a fantastic experience. The gym itself is always clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The real game-changer for me, though, has been working with my personal trainer, Chris. All the trainers are incredibly knowledgeable and have a great way of explaining exercises and the science behind them. They created a personalized plan that was challenging but also achievable, and I've seen amazing progress. For anyone considering personal training, I highly recommend them!"

I went in planning to do the 3-day free trial, but I ended up getting a membership instead. I’ve been going for about two days now, and my first impression of the gym has been really good. Since I’m new to working out in a gym, having a welcoming environment helped a lot. Chazz was super friendly and talked me through everything, and he always greets me when he’s there, which honestly makes the experience better.

I did my membership online and Mikayla still took the time to show me around. She showed me everything and I really appreciated that. She was very kind and made me feel super welcomed as someone who hasn’t been to the gym in almost 10 years. I give her 5 stars. The gym I’ll give 3 stars. It is a little crowded around 9pm. They do a good job keeping it clean! They don’t have a pool, so the $30 a month shouldn’t be that much considering the amenities are falsely advertised given the website and photos. :/. The sign out front says $9.95. I got the premium membership or premier. && that’s also falsely advertised. I can’t workout 24 hours. So I don’t appreciate the lack of integrity (which has nothing to do with employees & everything to do with the gym.) I like the location. Love the sauna.

It took me a while to find the right gym after moving out of state, but I knew Myriad was the perfect fit after my first day. The coaches are amazing and the community is incredibly supportive. Whether you’re brand new to working out, between gyms, or a seasoned pro, you’ll feel right at home here.

The combo of having CrossFit + access to yoga in the same membership is such a perk, but it’s the amazing coaches and teachers that keep me coming back every week! I’ve been a member for 10+ years, although they only convinced me to start CrossFit in 2025 🙃. All I can say is I wish I would have started CrossFit sooner and am consistently surprised by the strength I’ve built in only a year of training.

When I tell people I've started Crossfit, I often get concerned looks. They fear that I'm about to have my body and soul crushed by intense, unrelenting workouts. But Myriad doesn't do that! They use a Level method and every session has workouts designed to meet you at the level you're at. The staff are experienced and caring. I feel like I'm in good hands

Would strongly recommend joining! I did the Myriad 6 Week HYROX Training Series and also ran the HYROX Simulation race. Jared, Marta, Shane, and the whole team make it a very inviting community. I appreciated the intentionality they put into programming the 6 weeks to help prepare me for the simulation race. I plan to run an official HYROX event, and what I learned in their class and sim race (rules, technique for each of the 8 stations, what you're penalized on, etc.) will go a long way.

I've done crossfit for about 6 years and loved my first gym but it ended up closing. It took a second to find a gym that I loved and has coaches who actually coach and help me improve my form. I knew during my first class I had picked the rigth gym, I felt like I was coached more in that one class than I had been over the last year at a different gym.

I've been a member of Anytime Fitness for probably a decade now and I have gone to a few different locations around Indiana and this one is honestly my favorite. I recently revisited the one I signed up at 10 years ago and it hasn't changed. The equipment looks like it's been updated in 10 years! But this location on Allisonville doesn't have that problem! Their equipment is clean, organized, and they get new things in as needed. The overall vibe of this location just feels more welcoming and honestly helps motivate me to work out! The staff is also very kind and supportive. Just a great location to get a good workout in.

I have been a club member of Anytime Fitness Fishers since November of 2021. I couldn't be happier. I am 65 years old and came to the club to improve my upper body strength and range of motion. I have been working with the coaches at AF since I have joined. I am very happy with the results. They are very knowledgeable and understand my arthritis limitations. Plus, they are GREAT people and fun to be around. I feel challenged each week and leave happier then when I walked in. I have never felt out of place in this club. Every generation is represented in this club's membership. Everyone here is kind and supportive.

I was a member of this Anytime Fitness years ago. Jason, who seems to still own it, was a leading example of a great gym owner. The trainers, Alex, Ellen, and Izzy (not sure if all are still working here) were all fantastic. The old location near 96th and Masters was kept very clean despite being a busy gym. I am living far away from this gym now and have recently joined a different Anytime Fitness franchise location, which is poorly maintained and owned by an investment firm from out of state. This gym is a leading example of what Anytime Fitness should be, and I am only rewriting this review because I want corporate to see that Jason runs a fantastic Anytime Fitness franchise!

The Anytime that recently moved from 96th st to Allisonville rd is mediocre at best. The staff will never approach you and try to be friendly or stop to have a casual convo. I've made some simple suggestions and was met with bad attitude. The equipment is subpar. The hours are great and also the location for me. Other than that this gym IS NOT a real gym when compared to a Gold's gym or even an L.A. Fitness, or Lifetime. Its one step-up from a Planet Fitness and that isnt saying much. Also the Members are pretty unfriendly. No one smiles or speaks to one another whatsover. It is extremely rare to see a couple guys or women hitting the gym together. Be sure to bring your own music. There music stream is garbage. Honest review here. I have not had any ill words with the Staff but they are not open to the smallest suggestions. I recently visited the Sarasota, Fla location while on vaca and everything about it was way better. Like night & Day. And it wasn't a vacation high. The best Anytime location in my opinion is located near 71st & Binford. Ive visited every loc in Indy. The location in Geist is decent but nothing to brag about.

This gym is cleaned, the sad are very friendly and attentive to the care, maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of the stuff in the gym. The staff usually greet me or say goodbye to me when I leave, and I always appreciate that about the staff here. It is also very nice to see the personal trainers putting in good genuine care into the people they train, as that are attentive and knowledgeable and I appreciate seeing them provide the quality of personal training to their clients. This gym had always felt welcoming. The equipment is VERY WELL KEPT. ❤ This is what makes this gym stand out from all of the other anytimes in the area. This is why I love this location. This is why I will always choose to frequent and to return to, this location.

If you are an early morning person like me. I'd find another gym. They advertise as being open at 0400 but they rarely are. None of the employees shows up to open the gym until 5am or later. This happens multiple time throughout the week. If you are a daytime or even a person just be prepared that the gym is going to be slammed with tons of people, absurdly over crowded. Most of the staff is friendly and courteous and attentive during banker hours. The trainers are a little rude and flirtatious with women, especially the short little dude with the stupid broom mustache. Great way to make females uncomfortable. The equipment is decent but patrons rarely wipe things down. The weightlifting pads are falling apart and are a bit treacherous. Its definitely a step up from planet fitness next door, but its not much of a step. Maybe a baby step. If they had a better staff the overall experience would be better. Ill probably cancel my membership at the end of the year.

I love the gym! Besides the fact I just signed up in January and they did not inform me that the pool and the showers were going to be closed for 2 months this is a big inconvenience in my day. Not to mention the next closest Vasa is over 20 minutes away from me. Do better at informing new members when they're not going to get use of the full gym but are expected to pay full price for months

I have been a member of vasa since 2020 and I have attended four separate locations In both Colorado and Indiana. Unfortunately, this is by far the most disgusting gym I’ve ever been a member of and that includes my high school locker room. Showers have never been cleaned and have mold. The steam room has mold. The hot tub Is closed three out of four days of the week because it has turned yellow or green. The water fountain backed up the other day with a brown liquid. Equipment is constantly broken. The men’s locker room smells rancid. Corporate needs to send a representative to this location so they can see how much they have devalued the brand. I am switching to crunch fitness

Currently dealing with an issue with Vasa. This gym claims that they have been unable to withdraw a yearly "price guarantee fee" from my account while simultaneously having no issue withdrawing my monthly membership fee. They say this issue has persisted since 2022 and are only now reaching out to me to try to charge extra fees. On top of this issue, as other reviews have mentioned, the staff is rude, wipes are rarely if ever stocked, empty hand sanitizer, machines out of order, dirty gym, etc. There is a Planet Fitness right next door. Planet Fitness might be mediocre but at least you don’t have to deal with this crap.

It’s an all around decent experience. Lots of equipment and space. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The crowed was generally normal so that’s also a plus. Not too many of the annoying "bro" types. But I was specifically looking for a good sauna. The sauna was built well but they don’t keep it hot enough to actually get any benefit from it. It was 140F when I was there. Studies say it needs to be at least 180F and up to get the reported benefits. So that was a bummer. I also noticed a lot of bad gym etiquette while I was there. That’s not specifically the gyms fault but maybe they could put up some signs or something. Plates were put up wrong on almost every machine. 45’s covering the 5’s and 10’s on almost every holder. All that being said, it’s a decent experience and you get a lot for a very low membership fee. If you’re looking for a general experience and you don’t care about niche stuff like the sauna then go for it!

I canceled my Planet Fitness membership in December to join VASA, and I regret it. At Planet Fitness I paid $20 a month. The gym was consistently clean, equipment was never broken, massage chairs actually worked, and I could bring a guest every single day without issues. I come to VASA faithfully every day. This month I am being charged $130 for my membership, plus a $20 late fee, bringing my total to $150. I get paid later today and fully intended to pay, yet I was denied entry using my friend’s guest pass because my account balance was not paid. This policy was never clearly explained when I signed up, and I do not believe it was communicated transparently at all. The way this was handled felt uncomfortable and honestly discriminatory. When I asked questions, staff acted as if I was being hostile simply for wanting clarity. Meanwhile, staff often sit at the front desk talking while the gym itself is dirty. Disinfectant wipe stations are frequently empty, forcing members to walk across the gym just to clean equipment. Broken equipment is common. The only reason I joined VASA was for the sauna, which is now unavailable for the next two months, and for the classes. Yet classes come with cancellation fees of $3 the first time and $10 after that. On top of everything, there is a $25 cancellation fee to leave this gym. So let me understand this. I am paying $50 a month for a dirty gym, broken equipment, an inactive sauna, unfriendly staff, and constant fees. This month alone I will be paying $175 total. This feels like nothing but a money grab. Your gym is not exceptional enough to justify these policies or this attitude. I am seriously considering going back to Planet Fitness on Thompson, where I paid less, received better service, and was treated with basic respect. I joined VASA based on a recommendation, and that was a mistake. I will be making sure others know exactly what to expect.

As of Nov 10th. Ellen called me at 7pm claiming to have cancled my membership due to this review and my opinions…(Correction GM Emma) Our Thompson Road location is Disgusting & falling apart more and more. We dont have a working facility that anyone can focus on health and recovery. Dirty and broken environment is not only my opinion it is other customers (approx 14,000 at this location) view of facts they are paying you to experience. VASA Corporate I have made you guys aware of these concerns and many employees through Paramount, and other management since April 25' about the facilities ever worsening state. Tristan hung up the phone on Paramount and I when I was asking when all these repairs would be finished? Your management? Leslie on a Saturday (Oct 18, 2025) used smart ass tones to answer or to avoid answering the same questions I have addressed here on Google & with Paramount via email since April 25'. __________________________________________ 1. The showers in the mens locker room! Just shut it down, this is Ghetto. Attached photos. Missing shower doors(3) Zero soap boxes in all showers stalls. The stalls with doors are out of order. The showers are growing mold also as if I needed to mention. Broken TVS all across the facility. Even in the main Room no sports no nothing. TV in mens locker room is just removed wires hanging out. Our lockers themselves need cleaning maintenance inside the boxes🤢The benches and countertop are deep stained wuth oily black prints from high volume of people (approx 14,000) and zero cleaning maintenance. The swimsuit drying machine thats spin drys people's underwear and shorts smells from the other side of the room. It can be smelled over the gases of a man in the bathroom with a high protein diet. Nope not putting my genitals close to clothes that were dried in that box that is never cleaned with bleach. Fans never seem to work in all of the facility. No proof other than they are never on. The cardio equipment is growing new colonies of bacteria from ages of sweat and dirt and all-around. There are bolts from equipment falling apart laying on the ground showing facts that no one has cleaned or maintained since at least April 25'. The Hot Tub that was broken since April 25' is now operational as of Oct 25' when I visited it was not hot:/ and the water level was belly button height very low. Simply a horrible return experience since I left Thompson Rd in April of 25' for our better managed location on the Westside. I couldn't take a shower after to warm up and clean the water and sweat on my body just horrible. The sauna is down also SMH. The paint in the pool area is peeling so bad its gonna fall on someone soon. The mold growing in your drywall has spread Im sure by now with all the steam and vapor daily. I suggest to Install an exhaust fan/fans and then repaint our rooms please. The pool ceiling is rusting so bad the ceiling is Brown now. We already had a huge HVAC ducting fall on someone in the pool mid summer on a windy day due to rust. When wil they address the maintenance? There's numerous pieces of gym equipment needing attention. Smh. The Recovery room well they took all the water jet beds away. Didn't replace all the units. Maybe half the chairs were replaced leaving the whole room half empty. Currently the available chairs there are also broken. Leaving 1-3 actual available chairs. VASA please get our Thompson Rd location back to us in a clean & fully functioning order. There are so many other clients who have the same experiences. Some have left. Some were foreigners who spread this news.

I’ve been a member at LivRite Fitness for over 20 years, so I’ve seen this gym go through a lot of phases. I have to say, I am extremely pleased with the current revival of the facility. The new General Manager, Terrence, has been doing a phenomenal job. He is making key improvements that we can actually see and feel. What I appreciate most is that he actively seeks out the members to ask for our input on how he can continue to make things better. It’s great to see leadership that truly listens. Keep up the great work!

I love this gym, which I go to primarily for water aerobics with Nadine three times a week. Everyone is nice and while the facilities are a little worn – they are working on improvements. It’s a no-frills kind of place and is a great value for the money you spend.

We're members because this gym is close to our home, but frankly it is an underwhelming gym. The water fountain has been broken since before we joined 3 years ago. The equipment is sparsely updated with many of the cardio machines still broken as they have been for years. The gym temperature ranges from comfortable to way to hot to workout.

I recently visited Livrite to inquire about a gym membership and couldn’t have been more pleased with my experience. Terrance , the new manager was AMAZING! He was very kind, patient and thorough when walking me through getting signed up. He even took the time to give me a tour of the gym and all the gyms amenities. Terrance went on to share some upcoming renovations and upgrades they are currently working on at the gym. I really appreciated how passionate Terrance was about his job and the care he has for his customers. I have toured and inquired about a few other gyms but decided to sign up with Livrite based off the great customer interaction with Terrance!

Been a member for many years and I absolutely refuse to go anywhere else! The staff are SO genuine and down to Earth. This place is a true blessing from heaven…not just a 'gym', but also a 'GEM'! The only thing that would be better is if they were open 24 hours.

This gym has completely changed my fitness journey for the better! The community is so positive and encouraging — it feels like a family. The equipment is modern, clean, and there's everything you could possibly need for strength training, cardio, and more. Since joining, I’ve made huge progress in my weight loss journey and I truly credit the amazing environment here for keeping me motivated. If you're looking for a gym that cares about your success, this is the place!

My spouse and I went to several local gyms to tour and knew right away that Livrite was our choice. General Manager Terrance was very kind and helpful. He took plenty of time to show us around and answer our many questions. This gym has a great atmosphere and we are happy to become members there at the Indianapolis location!

All I can say is, WOW. I have memberships to Lifetime, 24hr, Anytime, Planet, LA, YMCA, and have worked out at tons of local gyms, and this is by far my favorite. Tons of high end equipment, platforms, racks, etc, with no crowd. I couldn’t get into Anytime down the street because it’s in a secure building and not staffed, so I went here instead and purchased a day pass. Really glad I did. Very easy process, and opened the door using the app in less than a minute. The selection and abundance of open equipment here is unparalleled. Phenomenal gym. I’ll absolutely be back!

This is the best gym in Indy. 24 hour access is essential for me, as my work hours are unconventional. The space is always unbelievably clean and organized and the equipment is top tier. There are so many unique machines and attachments. This is a gym designed for every type of lifter or gym goer. The owner is constantly making improvements to the facility (sauna, showers, new equipment). The staff is also incredibly friendly and helpful. No one should sleep on this gym. If you are intimidated by any part of it, don't be. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and supportive of anyone who is looking to better themselves.

I was just visiting Indianapolis for the weekend so I decided to do a day pass here BEST decision I could have ever made As an online fitness coach, this gym had everything I could possibly wish for. The gym is divided into 2 "sections" where one side is a little more machine/cardio (great for bodybuilding) focused & the other is where your free weights are (good for strength & powerlifting) My favorite part was the Arsenal equipment they had which felt absolutely fantastic to use (first gym I’ve seen in the Midwest with a Pendulum Squat) Overall, I really enjoyed my workout here. Also, thank you to Austin in the front who was super nice & hospitable

Morgan at Indy City Barbell is the real deal. Super knowledgeable, motivating, and somehow makes lifting heavy things fun. He knows how to connect with clients and keeps pushing you without being pushy. The gym itself? Awesome. Great equipment, super clean, and full of the nicest (and strongest) folks you’ll meet. Zero ego, zero intimidation—just good vibes and hard work. I’m already seeing progress and actually look forward to workouts now. Can't wait to continue this journey at ICB.

I've worked out at and been a member of gyms all over the country and this is hands down the best gym I've signed up at. The equipment is amazing, the staff is great, and the overall energy in this place is awesome. Zero ego, all hustle and hard work in this place. I've been training for months now with Morgan May, who's the training director of the facility and it's been life changing. Super reliable trainer who pushes you to be better. He knows how to connect with clients, and the results of his clients show his true knowledge and passion for his craft. Honestly the entire staff seems to be this way. The Membership and one on one training is worth every penny spent. I'd recommend anyone in the Indy area or passing through to sign up or give this place a serious look!

I’ve been training with Morgan at Indy City Barbell for the past 4 years, and I can’t recommend him enough. Morgan is not only incredibly knowledgeable about powerlifting, but also knows how to tailor programming to fit individual needs and goals. When I first started, I never imagined I’d make this much progress but Morgan’s coaching has pushed me further than I thought possible. If you’re looking for a trainer who genuinely cares about your growth, understands the sport inside and out, and creates a supportive training environment, Morgan is the one. Indy City Barbell as a whole has a great community, but Morgan has been the driving force behind my progress.

Greatest. Gym. In. Gods. Green. Earth. I have been going for years now and not only has the equipment improved but so has my mental and physical health. From the great leadership of the owner, to the amazing hands on and friendly staff, even the members of every walk of life are super helpful and supportive. Never seen gym culture so intense and yet not even remotely toxic. No egos, just determination and a unified mindset to live healthier lives. My trainer Morgan, who came highly recommended by Naz (trainer) has an amazing approach to physical fitness that has pushed my limits and afforded me great results without punishing my pockets. Looking to get in shape? Go here.

I have a membership. I have moved and tried to cancel it for two years. I called, sent email messages and stopped by to cancel. stopping by is hard because I am not near the area but when I stop during business hours by there was never anyone there who could cancel. Many times there is just a key code to enter so nobody on duty to cancel to, calls are never returned, and emails are ignored. Finally my credit card expired an now I get invoices to pay and email them back i need to cancel. these are ignored also and a couple of days later. nice equipment but shady practices. No problems at Livrite across the street.. Livrite was great to work with (and has a pool)

Hands-down, the best gym in Indy! Jimmie is a great owner! He really does care about the gym community! He doesn’t play around when he says he brings nothing but the best gym equipment in. Does tons of research on old school bodybuilding gym equipment. This place is a bodybuilders dream! You have to come and check it out! Real awesome owner again! This is the only gym you need!

Are you tired of going to a gym where you feel like just a number on a spreadsheet? Or do you feel like your membership dues are just being pocketed and never put back into the facility? If so you need to come and give Peak a try. From the moment you walk in you will feel like part of the Peak family. Peak has equipment for everyone no matter what your fitness goals are. The owner Jimmie is one of the greatest people you will ever meet. He truly has a passion for fitness and the community inside the gym. He is friendly and extremely knowledgeable so if you need a spot on a lift or help using some of the new equipment he is always willing to help out. Jimmie’s passion for the gym shows mostly in the equipment that he curates for the gym. He finds the best equipment that is used by some of the biggest names in the fitness industry. It is like seeing the membership dues being put to good use in constant improvements in the gym. I can’t say enough good things about out the gym and its staff. If you are looking for a positive change of pace in your fitness journey then you have to stop in and give Peak a try.

This an updated. review since Brad, the owner died. A close friend with an interest in weightlifting inherited the gym and enlisted a friend with extensive experience in opening and running gyms to manage Peak. Jimmy is a great guy who knows his members. In addition to some cosmetic work (painting, new carpet in the locker rooms, reorganizing the space so it’s more open), he’s also been upgrading the weight machines for people into bodybuilding and weightlifting. Jimmy is constantly on the look for better equipment and has collected some rare but very effective machines. I’m always looking forward to his next upgrade. The benches have all been reupholstered and the duct tape is gone, since I joined 5 years ago. All the top line powerlifting equipment from the past is still there and a few pieces have been added.

I’ve been a member a little over two years now and I love the place. I’m a college student, which Peak offers a discount for. Peak has much better equipment and a much better environment than my gym at school or any other gym I’ve been to. The people at Peak push you to be your best self, but also offer endless support. As long as I’m in Indy, I’ll belong to Peak.

Literally the best weightlifting gym in town. I’ve worked out at VASA, Crunch, LA Fitness, Anytime Fitness, YMCA, and Planet Fitness here in Indy over the last 7 years and kept running into broken equipment, long wait times, or poor service. MEI is great on every level and I’m so glad I finally found it! Plus, 24 hour access is awesome!

This gym is more than just a place to work out—it’s truly a second home. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere is electric, filled with people who are passionate about fitness and pushing themselves to the next level. Being surrounded by athletes and like-minded individuals creates an energy that’s hard to match, and it’s incredibly motivating. One standout feature of this gym is its unique equipment. They have machines and tools that I’ve never seen in other places, which has allowed me to diversify my workouts and keep things exciting. And after an intense session, the sauna is the perfect place to relax and recover. It’s like the cherry on top of an already amazing experience. What really sets this gym apart for me, though, is how it changed my life during a tough time. I was going through personal challenges when I first started coming here, and it became my sanctuary. Establishing a routine gave me purpose and consistency when I needed it most. I also met an incredible group of friends, many of whom I first knew from LifeTime Fitness but reconnected with here. The sense of community is unmatched. Whether you’re new or experienced, there’s a place for everyone, and you always feel welcome. This gym isn’t just where I work out—it’s where I’ve grown stronger physically, mentally, and socially. I’m so grateful for all it’s given me.

Frequently asked questions about personal trainers in Indianapolis

What qualifications should a personal trainer have?

When seeking a personal trainer in Indianapolis, it’s crucial to consider their qualifications. While there isn’t a single, universally recognized certification, nationally accredited certifications from organizations like NASM, ACE, or ISSA are generally preferred. These certifications demonstrate a trainer’s knowledge of exercise science, anatomy, and program design. Look for trainers who demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education to ensure they’re providing safe and effective training.

What types of training programs do personal trainers typically offer?

Personal trainers in Indianapolis offer a wide variety of training programs tailored to different needs and goals. Common programs include strength training, cardio training, weight loss programs, functional training, and mobility and flexibility training. Some trainers specialize in specific populations, such as seniors, athletes, or individuals with chronic conditions. It’s important to discuss your goals and limitations with a trainer to determine the most appropriate program.

How much does a personal trainer cost in Indianapolis?

The cost of a personal trainer in Indianapolis can vary significantly depending on several factors, including the trainer's experience, certifications, and the type of training offered. Rates typically range from around $40 to $80 per session, but some experienced trainers with specialized programs may charge more. Package deals and monthly memberships are often available, which can be a more cost-effective option than paying for individual sessions. Be sure to inquire about initial consultation fees and payment schedules.

What should I expect during a typical training session?

A typical training session with a personal trainer in Indianapolis will begin with a warm-up to prepare your muscles for exercise. The trainer will then guide you through a series of exercises, providing instructions and ensuring proper form. Throughout the session, the trainer will monitor your progress, offer encouragement, and provide feedback on your technique. A cool-down and stretching period will conclude the session.

How do I determine the right fitness level for me?

Before starting any training program, it's important to assess your current fitness level. A good personal trainer in Indianapolis will conduct a fitness assessment to evaluate your strength, endurance, flexibility, and body composition. This assessment will help the trainer tailor a program that is both challenging and safe for you. Don’t hesitate to be honest about your current limitations and any health concerns you may have.

What equipment do personal trainers typically use?

Personal trainers in Indianapolis often utilize a variety of equipment, including free weights, resistance bands, cardio machines (such as treadmills and ellipticals), and bodyweight exercises. Some trainers work in dedicated fitness studios equipped with more advanced equipment, while others provide training in clients’ homes or outdoor spaces. The specific equipment used will depend on the trainer’s specialization and the client’s goals.

What is the role of communication between a trainer and client?

Effective communication is essential for a successful training relationship. A good personal trainer in Indianapolis will regularly communicate with you to discuss your goals, progress, and any challenges you may be facing. Open and honest communication will allow the trainer to adjust the program as needed and provide you with the support and motivation you need to achieve your desired results. Regular feedback is also key.

How important is proper form during exercise?

Proper form is absolutely critical during exercise to prevent injuries and maximize results. A qualified personal trainer in Indianapolis will prioritize teaching you the correct form for each exercise, providing detailed instructions and corrections as needed. Poor form can lead to strains, sprains, and other injuries. Listen to your trainer’s guidance and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

What should I do if I experience pain during a training session?

If you experience any pain during a training session, it's essential to immediately stop the exercise and inform your trainer. Don’t try to "push through" the pain, as this could lead to a more serious injury. Your trainer will assess the situation and adjust the program accordingly. It's important to report any persistent pain or discomfort to a medical professional.

How can I find a personal trainer that’s a good fit for me?

Finding a personal trainer in Indianapolis that’s a good fit for you involves more than just checking certifications. Consider their personality, communication style, and approach to training. Schedule a trial session to see if you connect with them and if their training philosophy aligns with your goals. Trust your instincts and choose a trainer you feel comfortable and confident working with.
