Pottery by You has become my go-to place to relax! I have always had such wonderful experiences, whether I am painting pottery, making candles, or working with glass. The studio is cozy and inviting, and the employees are incredibly friendly and helpful! For my most recent project, Liz was so kind in helping me narrow down and choose custom scents and stickers for the candles I was making for wedding favors. She made what would have been a rather overwhelming process so simple – no pressure and no rush, with so many helpful tips along the way! Highly recommend this studio for anyone looking to tap into their creativity!

Was pleasantly surprised not only of the options (pottery, glass, candles, wood painting) to choose from but all the options within like colors and styles and extra textures and the help from the employees. First time coming and will definitely be back. The fact that everyone I talked to that worked there was pleasant and helpful to the enjoyable experience made this a great choice for my friends and I to spend some time together.

Had a lot of fun making a glass vase for my birthday. Even got a surprise little bday candle. Adult slushies were top tier and we had a lot of fun in general.

We had a wonderful time for a small group to celebrate a birthday here today! Liz was very attentive and helpful throughout the entire process, even assisting one of our group members in redoing her project after the first attempt was unsatisfactory. We painted wood signs and made a scented room spray. A fantastic time and would go back again for sure!

The owner is cheap person who doesn’t care about the customer or service at all. We spent all day decorating very nice cup to make a gift for our friends. They broke it and offered only $20 gift card. But the way they said it is $50 gift card. I reminded them that I already paid $30 for a cup so it is $20 gift card and decent place would offer better. But the guy didn’t care and say if you are not happy to do not come back. Wow that is how he doesn’t care about his clients.

We have been going to Pottery By You for years. The staff is very knowledgeable and always incredibly generous! They have always gone above and beyond in helping out our veterans as well. During the height of COVID they were willing to provide additional services for our veterans during lockdown. Highly encourage anyone interested in pottery, glass, wood, or candle making to check them out!

Had a wonderful experience here! Great instruction given on how to correctly paint pottery of your choice. Love love looooove the candle making experience. So many good and nostalgic smells to put into your own candle and make an amazing memory with. I would 100% return to this location for more!

My granddaughter and I attended a “Paint Your Pet” event. MJ was soooo patient and great with my granddtr. We had a great time and we’re pleased with the outcome.

We had a blast. It was for my daughters 40th birthday. The
hostesses were experienced painters. They were very nice. The music they played suit the atmosphere. It was the bomb! Throughly enjoyed ourselves.

So much fun! Mom and I walked in for a “pop in and paint.” Excellent service and great prices. The staff are very upbeat and funny.

Definitely give yourself as much time as possible, because some of these paintings have a lot of steps But the instructions are super easy to follow.

They have a LOT of pictures to choose from for your painting. I’ve added a picture of my choice from the binder with my resulting painting.

They also have drinks (alcoholic and non) and snacks (mostly bagged chips).

We saw they do painted wine glasses and custom candles too if you’re looking for something like that.

My birthday celebration at painting with a twist was amazing. The instructor was awesome. This is my second year going there and it won’t be the last. I highly recommend for an occasion or just to get out and do something fun. FYI you don’t have to be a painter

Took my wife for her birthday, they not only spoiled her but I had a great time too! Staff was super friendly and flexible and the taught how to work on our weak areas. Highly recommend for your next date night!

Stopped in for the first time on Sunday and I have mixed feelings about my experience. I thought the instructor Kaitlyn was personable but could have given more instruction. My painting didn’t come out exactly how I hoped but it’s not terrible, which i understand is my own shortcoming. Also, at the end when paying for my drink, this lady asks if I want to tip Kaitlyn – literally in front of Kaitlyn and the other guest in the room – I thought that was embarrassing and distasteful.

Did the new painting to go in same room but different wall as these 3. (Also done at Painting with a Twist locations) Lyndsey helped when needed with suggestions and let us do our thing when we seemed comfortable. Love going to her classes!!

The outdoor area makes for a quiet park for adults — the nearby Opti Park has a playground, and may be more suitable for kids.

Today’s August 2 it’s a nice summer day, and we came to walk through the sculpture garden. They’re limited sculptures. The landscaping is poorly maintained. The walkways have inconsistent gravel. And there is zero art installation inside. Today is a Saturday. Experience not worth going.

Attendant at the front was very nice and helpful and said that at the end of the month, the art exhibit will actually have art

Art and nature interspersed to create a charming place to enjoy the outdoors. Kids can roam around with plenty to entertain them. There are places to look over the river. When we went there was a fun community art project inside where you create an ornament to add to a tree on the wall using recycled items. It was a lot of fun and we will definitely go back.

For years I had dreamed of having my wedding reception at the Indianapolis Art Center, and working with Mason and her team was a dream come true. My husband and I toured the facility 15 months before our big day and highly recommend approximately that time frame for a place as popular as this. The IAC referred us to our caterer, and set up our reception seating with tables and linens. Additionally, they took care of tear down after we made our exit.

Our guests enjoyed cocktail hour under the portico while we headed to the river for our family pictures. The pergola and Ivy wall were a gorgeous backdrop for our sweet heart table and most breath taking of all were all the hanging string lights. I could not imagine a better setting for an outdoor wedding. Beyond that, we booked the library as a place inside to escape just the two of us for our last dance. Magic.

Such a great spot! We walked the trails and saw the sculptures. We headed inside to warm up at the little coffee shop. The library was cozy and clean with even some sweet little kid art books. The inside galleries were super cool and the workshops looked fascinating!

Nice facility. Great especially if you’re interested in creating art. Workshops for just about every medium.

Very nice grounds to stroll as well. Enjoyed our visit.

The outside area is pretty with some interesting sculptures, and nicely shaded by green tunnels. The nearby river is calming, with some decent views via the wooden walking platforms. You can also stroll right down to the water if you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

The art on display when I visited today is a little too leftwing for my tastes, but hey, that’s art. I wouldn’t bring children through it.

I’m not in town long enough to take any classes, but it seems really cool. There is a nice little library down one of the halls. The art center looks nice and pretty well maintained, and the few staff members I ran into seemed polite and helpful.

Thankful to have a pottery/ceramics supply store close to home to fuel my wife’s hobby. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and willing to give advice or opinions. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in.

Everyone here is wonderful. I only recently found out about the Tuesday class and it has been my favorite thing I’ve done in Indy for the past 4 years. Brad is the best most patient and helpful teacher. The price being inclusive of all materials is unreal. I’m sad to have moved away, they’re great!!

Nice to have this locally! Good selection. I have submitted updated hours twice but it keeps getting changed back to “open 24 hrs” on Google and the website does not have any info. The hours are not in the door either. Only posted on fb as far as I can tell.

I am a novice. Everyone was very helpful, kind, & supportive of my pursuits…. staff & others across the board….very laid back, but also very knowledgeable.

I love Brickyard. The clay selection could be better but it’s a great little place. Lots of Mayco glazes, bisque ware, and tools.

Well this was a wonderful gem I didn’t expect to find. This 2-hour class was amazing. It was my first time and the instructor made it so easy to understand. Loved the atmosphere and more calming than a therapy session. Highly recommend it for either groups or solo! I plan to go back. At first I thought 2 hours would be way too long for a class but it was not enough!

My wife and I did a one night class. It was a blast. We ended up keeping all three pieces and the instructor was phenomenal. She was very through with her instruction and very hands on with help if we needed it. Would recommend to anyone even if you’ve never touched clay before.

I was gifted a 2 hour beginning pottery class here and it was amazing! Our instructor, Michelle, made the process easy to understand and provided 1:1 help to all of us throughout the evening as we needed it.

AMAZING one night class!!! Had so much fun and learned a lot ! Michelle was a fantastic teacher! Can’t wait to pick up my pieces and sign up for another class!

I have to give this place 5 stars! It was amazing. We went as a girls’ night. They allow you to bring your own alcohol so that was lovely. It’s definitely exactly how I remember it in high school art class. It definitely works the arms. We had 6 people. We were able to make 3 pieces each and keep 2. Then, we could pay for each additional one for $5. I know they do all types of classes, and there is also an art gallery inside where they do shows, I believe. I will for sure be back for date night.

My boyfriend and I had a date night throwing on the wheel for a couple hours, and it was SO fun!!! Tracee was so wonderful, patient, and positive!!! The studio was so calming and clean. We never felt rushed and Tracee did a great job of balancing helping all 8 of us. It was so nice to chat with the other people in the class and share some good laughs. We will definitely be back!

Took my 10 year old twin nieces for their birthday for a private event. Amanda was a great teacher and worked with each child individually to guide through the steps of wheel throwing. Would highly recommend this for kids and adults who are interested in a fun and creative activity. Feels good to support a local business!

A friend of mine gifted me 2 passes for an intro wheel throwing class. My sister was super into ceramics in High School (and talented at it), so I thought it would be a fun experience for her to get back into it as a hobby and go with me to the intro class. We both LOVED it. Dani was our instructor and we had a really, really great experience with her. She was SO encouraging and never made you feel incompetent or anything negative when you would mess up. She was so encouraging and insightful- we are now going to sign up for their 8 week course with Dani when registration opens because it was such a great experience! I have nothing but great things to say about the class & Dani. It was also a great experience to see my sister so excited and happy to get back into something she loves <3

This is our third time working with Yellow Door Ceramics, and every experience has been wonderful! We’ve hosted private workshops for our customers, and they absolutely love it each time. The instructors are so knowledgeable, patient, and kind, making everyone feel comfortable. We truly enjoy building community while supporting other small businesses, and Yellow Door Ceramics makes it easy and fun.

The instructors at Yellow Door are very encouraging, knowledgeable, patient and supportive (especially when your creation begins to flop ). Love the one day class on Friday evenings, such a fun date night and intro to throwing on the wheel. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming for all, and the classes are small enough to get 1:1 hands-on instruction from the teacher. I will definitely go back for a 3rd class!

Traci was soooo helpful and patient. Very willing to talk through and help with any issue we had!!! Has so much knowledge & experience! My first design was not a success, but she helped me to recover for the last two!!!

Such a cool place! The instructors were very funny and personable! My boyfriend friend and I are already planning a trip back! We made little pumpkins! If youre nervous to try it the instructor walk you through every step as your doing it! 10/10 ! And its pretty reasonable priced !.

Great experience. Took my wife and in laws to try something new. As a non artsy guy it was still very interesting and the stuff was unbelievably friendly, knowledgeable, engaging, etc. My whole party had a great experience. When we come back to town we will definitely do it again! Quick note: Justin was our artist and was EXCEPTIONAL. Another gentleman was working with another group but still engaging with everyone in the room but I didn’t catch his name.

Took the glass blowing class where we made our own pumpkins and had a blast! Our instructor, Justin, was fantastic and super knowledgeable. This is a great spot for a date or a good gift idea for that friend or family member who just wants to spend time with you!

I came here with my co-workers for a team building activity. The instructors were fantastic and it was an all-around wonderful experience! I highly recommend Glass Arts Indiana!

My husband and I went to a class to make flowers. I never imagined we’d have so much fun. There was an instructor teaching glass pumpkins and a different one teaching glass flowers. They were both very nice and had us laughing. We are looking forward to doing this again and making more memories. Thank you for a great class.

Rebecca was an artistic genius, the photos don’t do her skill justice, and when we walked in they were just pulling a hundred pieces from the kiln.

I was talking to Chris about their work and he was talking about shipping to Germany and the Netherlands, other international repeat clients and hitting the mark (woohoo) of selling to over 1500 retailers…..and they’re just around the corner on the Near East Side of Indianapolis.

The photos don’t do this place justice- creativity in spades, tons of seasonal stuff, and Rebecca is clearly always pushing the limits on her pottery and not resting on past laurels. My wife and I immediately bought some gifts here and I’m sure we will be back.

I absolutely adore well made pottery and Gravesco is the best! I have several tiny bowls that I utilize on my charcuterie snack boards regularly. I am eagerly awaiting my new I understand the Assignment Mug as well. I love supporting artisans! Treat yourself to some beautiful pottery and support art!

I purchased a fig candle when they were at the Midwest Fiber Festival. And I l’m still thinking about the mug I didn’t buy. As I’m looking at the site and seeing all the beautiful pottery that they do and hoping that they brings these to St Louis next time.

This retail shop has been in the works for many years and now it has finally arrived!!!! Rebecca and her amazing team have created such a safe, open, and warm space for all. My family and I have been supporters for years and are super proud to see such a pillar of light shine through so brightly here in this space. Today I attended a morel mushrooms making class. It was soooooooo much fun! My soul felt so much lighter after all of the wonderful clay therapy. Everyone in the class got along so well together. It’s been a little while since I’ve seen people enjoy themselves and laugh so hard. I can’t recommend one of their classes enough!!!!

I love all the mugs and tumblers I’ve ordered from Gravesco. They are all made by hand and packaged with care. I’m going to need a bigger shelf in the cabinet!

Rebecca of Gravesco consistently makes some of the neatest products in the most nuanced and rich glazes that I have seen. She is always coming up with great ideas! She is incredibly creative while taking the functional form into consideration, so you get a piece of pottery that not only looks beautiful, but also functions correctly. If you are looking for high-quality, interesting and unique pottery pieces, Gravesco is the place!

i drive past here every morning on my commute and have been wanting to check it out for a while – did not disappoint! every piece is imbued with personality and craftsmanship and the whole vibe was so comfortable and interesting. i got lucky walking in to a major sale so i definitely purchased more pieces than i normally would be able to afford on my public school teacher salary, but the regular prices under the sales stickers were absolutely reasonable for the level of quality on the shelves. will definitely be a regular customer going forward!

Jennifer’s class was very interesting and fun. She guides you step by step and gives great insight on how to manipulate your artwork. My girlfriend and I attended her class for her birthday and were happy with the results!..Would recommend to anyone wanting a creative and joyful experience.

My husband and I booked a private lesson with Jennifer. We had taken group pottery classes elsewhere before but struggled to actually make anything. Within 2 hours, Jennifer taught us everything we needed to know and we were able to create what we came in wanting.

I took my 12 year old cousin for an individual pottery experience, and it was AMAZING! Jennifer was very informative and a great teacher. She explained every step thoroughly and was very hands-on to make it a successful 1st time experience. Her place was easy to find and fun, with displays of her work for sale also. Now I want to go back and do it myself!

We had so much fun celebrating Valentine’s Day tonight. We highly recommend Jennifer Meeker Ceramics for an incredible date night. We both made two ceramic bowls on the wheel! It was fantastic!

I booked the private pottery experience for a daddy/ daughter date with my 11 yr old daughter, and we had the best time! Really wasn’t sure what to expect and was looking for a fun interactive way to spend time bonding with my daughter, and Jennifer really made it special. We started off with a tour of the studio and got an explanation of each part of the process. Jennifer then demonstrated throwing on the wheel before turning us loose to attempt to craft a piece on the pottery wheel on our own.

After our time on the wheel we enjoyed looking at all the pieces available that Jennifer had made and purchased a few items to bring home as well.

My daughter and I talked about the evening our whole drive home and she even mentioned the next day how much fun she had. This experience totally exceeded all expectations I had or even thought it could be! Definitely made a great memory that my daughter and I will both remember. Jennifer’s love of her craft and passion for teaching are unmatched. Highly recommend even for dads who aren’t “artsy” like myself. Great memories were made!

My wife and I had an amazing pottery making date with Jennifer. Jennifer is very talented and makes you feel at ease while trying something new. She walks you through the entire process and you get to see pieces at the different stages of pottery making. We all laughed a lot and my wife and I made some awesome memories! Alley Cat Ceramics is my favorite place to be in Indy! It’s such a welcoming and inclusive space <3 I have taken a 6-week hand building class and a one night wheel throwing class. I would highly recommend both! I learned a ton in the 6 week class and really built my confidence working with clay. It was a joy to take the class with my sister, but it would also be great to take alone to make friends :) The wheel throwing class was a perfect date night and we were able to make some very cute little bowls! When Alley Cat hosts a market, clear your schedule!! Their small business saturday mug market was fantastic and the member market in the fall was a blast! Their members are incredible and it’s so much fun to shop from everyone at one event. Love alley cat forever <3 do yourself a favor and take a class!!!

Provisions where you got to experience Stomping Ground, hand build a hanging wall planter, and then get a drink at 8th Day Distillery. I *loved* how these businesses came together because I had never been to them and the experience was so fun! My group had a blast.

Then since I had such a great time, I kept an eye out for a class and finally got to sign up for a 6 week beginner hand building class. It was so wonderful!! Cannot recommend enough. Annie, our teacher, was absolutely fantastic. The time spent in class was a hoot every single week. I looked forward to coming to this class so much. Made so many pieces with the clay provided for class & I’m still not even finished with the clay. Will have plenty to keep working at home for a bit. The access to open studio while you’re in class is also amazing & I highly recommend utilizing it. Everyone at open studio is so kind & so welcoming. I knew absolutely nothing about clay, firing, glaze, etc, etc & every single person here answered any question I had and made sure I felt comfortable proceeding.

My husband and I took a beginners pottery class for a date night activity. I had some wheel throwing experience and my husband had none. We both took away some lessons from the class and Alexa gave us the freedom to have fun with our creations. She was incredibly patient and an open book of knowledge. It’s awesome to this space join the eastside and we can’t wait to go back!

I enrolled in a six-week beginners course after hearing about Alley Cat. Kate, our instructor, went above and beyond. I had a wonderful experience with her class. So much so, that I decided to continue with Alley Cat and sign up for a membership. The community is wonderful. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Alexa, the owner, has clearly put a lot of thought and effort into making this an inclusive space for all. I am so glad that I decided to sign up for Kate’s class!

I love Alley Cat! You can find beautiful work for sale by the owner and members and I highly recommend this studio for their classes. I’ve done a one-time workshop and two levels of 5-week wheel throwing classes and enjoyed every minute! Alexa is a wonderful teacher, I’ve had great classmates, and all of the studio aids and members I’ve met during open studio times have been lovely too. The studio is a friendly, welcoming, and supportive environment. I’m looking forward to signing up for an at home potter membership soon!
