Happened to find this gem while attending Gencon this summer. The gluten-free menu was great. Lots of options. I had the Sauerbraten, and my husband had the sausage. We were both pleased with our meals. The red cabbage and the German potato salad were delicious, too. We got extra potato salad to go because it was so good. Beers were great as well as the service.
Was in the mood for some German food and Edelweiss did not disappoint. Great beer, good sausages but could have had more sourkruat. Desserts were delicious.
Reservations are suggested for the Wednesday buffet. Great food. Great atmosphere. Oreo pudding goes quickly. I'll have to get it next time when I get my entrees. The "big" beer was enormous! Possibly 48 ounces!
Great experience, good food and excellent staff
A hidden gem for hearty, German food and plenty of beer We ordered the pork schnitzel and the bayrischer schweinebraten as our entrees with the spatzel, potato pancakes, green beans and fries as our sides. Pork schnitzel was crispy and easy to eat with a fork and knife. The bayrischer schweinebraten was juicy and featured a rich gravy. My favorite air was the potato pancakes! Think of a thick, hashbrown with savory onions in it. Then they had a fresh, minced apple sauce for it if you wanted it sweet. Super refreshing. The fries also were thick as a finger and seasoned. They came out piping hot! Meals also came with a cup of the house soup ---delicious! It was mildly sweet with pickled sauerkraut and small bits of sausage. ATMOSPHERE Interior like a pub with cozy with wood walls and decorative steins on the walls. SERVICE We were seated right away on a Tuesday night for dinner, and service was fast and friendly.
The atmosphere took me right back home. The food was delicious. The prices were average. The Pilsner beer was amazing. Every Wednesday is Buffet night with different food choices on the bar each week. Follow them on Facebook for their Menu. Homesickness was cured.....until next week
The food here was absolutely terrific! Some places offer homestyle dishes like your mom used to make. This place offers homestyle dishes like someone else's mom made, and they're all delicious. My favorite was the shepherds pie, but everything they served was great. Wednesday nights are "buffeteria" style. They serve you like a cafeteria but you keep going back until you're finished. Non-members price was $16.95 which I felt was fair for the quality of food and service provided. If you want to try something a little out of the ordinary I highly recommend a Edelweiss! I'll certainly be back when I cost the area again. Call ahead reservations are recommended.
