Had a consult with Andrew Dutkanych. He's a careful listener and very empathetic, and clearly knowledgeable about employment law. It's unfortunate that my case was a bit more hybrid and not squarely in his territory, but he did share another resource for me to reach out to if I wanted to continue pursuing the matter. I do think the lawfirm could do a bit better with sharing some of the information discussed with the paralegal with the attorneys before charging prospective clients for a consult. It's good to be able to have a full hour conversation with a practicing attorney and to discuss your situation, but attorney fees are generally steep so it's even more saddening when you're out the legal consult fees and still seeking representation. Just a thing I hope they work on in the future, would prevent their attorneys from spending time that could be better spent elsewhere, and help the prospective clients to not be out too much money in what is already a trying situation for them. The part that did sting was that the paralegal offered me the chance for a consult based on terminable actions, whereas the only angle that the attorney said that employment law would allow for would be discrimination based on protected classes, so if the paralegal would know to ask about that before offering a paid consult that would be nice

I reached out to two firms to handle my wrongful termination case. The other firm did not take it while this firm did. They successfully handled my employment matter with integrity and professionalism in a market where the law protects the employer not the employee. Highly recommend!

Spoke with their legal assistant Karen today who was very rude. She said she was snowed in. Granted, I was in a bad mood also as my doctors appointment got canceled due to a little bit of snow, but she would not let me talk & hung up on me twice! She said I needed to be nicer to her. No one has been nice to me when I was bullied by a bad boss, had police called on me and was gaslit out of a job by the shady school corp I worked for. And all these lawyers have done is waste my time. I know I was wrongfully terminated and discriminated against and have the documentation to prove it, but because I am a white male I will probably be ignored and told to "suck it up buttercup." 🙂 Please hire reps who are compassionate who are good at de-escalating when talking with grumpy people who have been screwed by the system, wrongfully fired and denied work and income they should've had coming to them. This lady gave me a ten minute time limit, was rude and spoke over me and would not even let me explain the facts of my case. Gives your law firm a black eye. I was referred to you by another Indy employment law firm HKM and am tired of wasting my time talking with greedy lawyers and their staff at this point.
