This mall is impressively large, offering a variety of items with a lot of vendor overlap. Its size can be a bit overwhelming, making it challenging to navigate efficiently to see everything. Even after two hours, we couldn’t cover it all. If you spot something you like, it’s best to purchase it immediately, as you might not remember its location later. Looking for a good place to pass some time, especially on a rainy and/or cold day, this is it!

Huge, huge, huge!! This place has a ton of stuff. It took us a long while to get through here. And my wife and I agree we probably didn’t get to all of it. If you’re into antiques check it out.
My personal opinion is that some of the coins and bills are a little expensive. Even a novice collector like me figured that out real quick.
But absolutely check it out!

This is the largest and most well laid antique mall I’ve ever been to inside. Wide rows and easy to walk-in booths make looking for treasures a breeze.

As an avid diecast car collector and an 80s kid, I couldn’t believe how many booths were full of great items. Words cannot truly describe it!

The faculty is very well kept and maintained. Red-vest staff can help you open smaller cabinet style display boothes to look at items.

They have restrooms, plenty of free parking, and a cafe (which I didn’t believe was open during my visit).

I highly recommend a stop in if your the in the area. You could easily spend an entire afternoon inside and still not see everything!

Every large place with a good variety of items and vendors that aren’t over priced. Nice staff. Their discount policy is that you have to pay with cash, check, or gift card for a discount which is a bit odd but otherwise easy transactions. The cashier said, “You can buy discount items without cash but you won’t get the discount.” Which just feels like a silly statement. Overall a good stop though.

JAY 057

One of the best and biggest Antique/Peddlers malls we’ve ever been to. It was super clean, the staff was helpful and the selection can’t be beat. I Will say that the prices aren’t the best compared to some of the other malls that we’ve frequented but I will also say the other malls don’t have the amount of one of a kind items on display. If you’re in the area and you have about 3 hours to spare, stop in at exit 76. You’ll be glad you did.

It’s a very big and nice antique/decorator mall. There some antiques and some knickknack items. Definitely lot to see. I feel like it’s more decorative items than antique items. The isles are pretty small. So if you have accessibility issues, it might be a tight squeeze! But overall the workers were friendly and eager to help out anyone! There are some snack to purchase and restrooms available. Overall an okay place to look at!

Great old antiques mall. There are a number of decor booths which I don’t like as opposed to actual antiques. A few booths of junk but that happens. Staff seems to be around a lot which is good with the amount of things in cases. I’m a big fan of this spot. It’s a pretty large place. There are other events on property from time to time.

At first glance it didn’t seem all that big, but boy was I wrong once I got inside. The set up is a bit different than your average flea market, but there are tons of stalls with tons of different stuff to offer. Actually really liked this one because it didn’t have but maybe a total of 3 booths that were those people that go buy all the clearance stuff from a store to mark up and resale. I hate that.
I go to flea markers because I wanna look at other people’s junk and this one delivered.

I love coming here and finding unique items. It’s easy to spend a lot of time here looking at all of the various booths. One of the better flea markets in town, this one is fairly sizeable, mostly clean and orderly, and has a higher ratio of treasure to trash than some of the other local spots. Only a handful of stalls that resell alibaba junk, everything else is a variety of curios to satisfy just about anyone’s tastes.

I needed a part for my old front door, made in 1921. Hardware, the problem was it was just wore out, it was for old deadbolt.
Not only did they have the part, they were very inexpensive and very helpful.

This is my go-to flea market. They have such a variety of booths and the staff is top-tier. I’ve been able to furnish my home office with one trip. I had stopped coming for some months bc the guy in charge would cough into his hands and not touch everything. I’m here all the time and I’ve only seen the current staff be courteous and sanitary.

They have never made me feel as if I am imposing when I need assistance. When a perv followed me thru the store, they took it seriously and banned him from the store.

Bought a couch from y’all last year I know you remember my face and this couch you all I’m disabled before I moved out of the house on Riley. I needed a couch. I thought I made a good investment going here them. Damn people were so rude. The cashier the other cashier white man my cashier was a black woman I didn’t know they didn’t help you load to your car like most thrift store places you go to so I had to hire someone that was shopping two men one white one black $20 apiece. I would’ve done more but I had my pick up truck right at the front door for them to load it. They didn’t have to carry it too far situations like these make you not wanna shop with a person holding it like the Flintstones on the way home then paying someone to get it in the house a month later I moved the couch was in storage on 25th and Central for almost 4 months before I could get the things to my new house in which I hate living now I need you to take a picture of the couch. You won’t get any more of my money it’s time for me so a new couch. I just bought this last year from y’all. Yeah hurt me and my loving year-old daughter at the time trying to get it in the door I shouldn’t of gave y’all two dollars and 50 Cent leave alone $250 since it’s been here from storage. This is how the movers brought it to me for the life of me. I cannot get the back of the couch attached. What a waste of money now I need new furniture.

This is one of my favorite flea markets so I really wasn’t going to comment except the attitude is just too much. I’ve been coming here for YEARS and I’ve seen all the changes, from expansion, to price increases, to vendor changes and staff changes. They even had a public restroom for years which was super convenient (apparently not anymore, which is fine). Now…sadly, the staff isn’t bringing the same positive energy as the previous staff used to. They would speak when you walked in, they smiled & they would help you if you needed it. The current manager, ( lady with the dark hair) isn’t pleasant at all. At least the few times I’ve interacted with her. She never seems interested in helping or answering questions. When she talks to you or rings you up, her tone is condescending and dry. She’s always doing something else making it clear she’s not interested in what you have to say. It’s like you’re bothering her if you need help or have a question…very disappointing. Most of the staff is aloof and not helpful. Once, one of them even smelled like Marijuana. No judgement, but when you’re coming to work, not a good look. To be honest, it is like a revolving door when it comes to staff. I understand that staff changes happen and things change to better enhance business, but let’s not forget a business is only a business because of its customers. All the vendors and expansions are useless without customers choosing to spend their hard earned money there. I do love the items that are sold there though. I have found some gems over the years. I suppose I’ll just have to accept that I won’t have the same pleasant customer service experience as before whenever I choose to patron this establishment. It is a nice place to shop though.

I found some cheap dvds I wanted, and even more that I couldn’t afford at the time. As long as this place is open I plan on going back as it seems there is more to really dive into.

Do yourself a favor, go here. You’re going to be looking for something here or want something here.

Been coming here for years and love it every time. Naturally it’s expensive but that’s what you expect going to an official antique store versus a goodwill. I’m a wheelchair user and the staff were very accommodating. They have a wheelchair ramp to get in and out of the store (make sure you tell one of the staff you need it ). At one point I wanted to shop downstairs and I asked if I could set my wheelchair off to the side to shop on the lower level and they were completely understanding! For me, wheelchair accessible approved.

Weren’t asked if we needed help. Like at least smile and have a friendly attitude if your going to stalk people. She was so close the entire time I couldn’t even whisper with my daughter without feeling she was part our conversation. Really off putting and weird. The woman who checked us out was very sweet and very kind.

Were greeted by a wonderful buddy, doggy boy, who was so friendly and was showing us around and showed us his favorite things in the shop. It was so sweet. Such intelligent fur boy . The store itself is beautiful, amazingly decorated with seasonal items and other unique pieces. The two beautiful ladies were very polite and answered any questions i had. They were very tactful and let me shop with no pressure. My husband gifted me a beautiful hand crocheted winter hat , that really one of the kind, i picked tapered candles and Christmas trees ornaments. But the best things i want to come back to that shop are the Furry boy and the two lady owners ! Great experience and very Fair prices!!!

Pulled into the parking lot at 5:05 pm to find out that the store was closed after driving 2 hours to come to the store. When the site stated they were open until 6! Very untrue. Then go to see they have another post where they are only open until 5 well they need to be more professional if owning a business and have the hours correct..

Always a discovery, knowledge gained and wisdom given. I count myself fortunate to be a friend of this Father & Son combo. Good heart and honest. Decades ago, I sold them my car, when that was the family business. I stop by for time-traveling, a 100 yr old book all the artistry from eras that shall not be forgotten. The best part is the owner and operators hold the line of whole hearted genuine care.Doug Sr has been known to give solid fatherly advice in a casual conversation. His results are live, right there towing the family line. Whether selling or buying or browsing, it’s always an insightful adventure!

If you’re thinking of coming here for gold, silver coins or bullion this is NOT the place. Way better places in Indy with better inventory and prices. The owner was nice but they are just better places to do business with premiums that are MINIMUM 70% LESS than this place

Called about some antiques that we are trying to part with. Called ahead to see if it was something they would be interested in. The guy on the phone said no rudely and hung up. Never even walked into the store and I recommend you avoid this place as well. Hopefully someone will pull their business license.

I visited this place yesterday in search of coins but upon entering, there were many interesting things that caught my eye. I was kindly greeted by the man behind the counter and we had a nice conversation about precious metals and numismatics. He was very knowledgeable and was a great help with my purchase. I’ll be back most definitely.

A must visit if you are a fan of antiques and collectibles! The place is so nostalgic and brought back so many memories from my childhood! The prices are reasonable. The service was great. We actually went there to get prices on some coins we have been holding onto. The gentleman working was a straight shooter and gave us an extremely fair price for the coins we sold.

Marvelous treasure trove. This place was filled artwork, antique furniture, toys, dolls, gadgets, jewelry and dinner ware. I bought a pink diamond ring and crystal wine dinner glasses, a wine decanter with a silver platter just in time for Downton Abbey 2 movie.

DO NOT GET ARTWORK APPRAISED HERE. I took a painting in to get it appraised, I was told it was worth $1000 – $1500. I had a buyer for the painting. The buyer called Salomon Paris antiques and they told the buyer something completely different. I called them myself and got this fabricated story. I will never do business with them again.

Catalog of services offered by antique shops in Indianapolis

Consultations and Legal Guidance for Antique Dealings

Civil attorneys can provide consultations and legal guidance tailored to the antique trade in Indianapolis. These services typically include an initial legal assessment of buying, selling, and consigning antiques, as well as risk analysis centered on provenance, authenticity, and potential disputes. Attorneys help antique professionals understand applicable state and local regulations, zoning considerations for storefronts, and compliance with consumer protection laws that may apply to sales, catalogs, and descriptions. By outlining an action plan, they assist shops in making informed decisions while documenting decisions for future reference.

    Authentication, Provenance, and Fraud Prevention

Civil attorneys assist with authentication and provenance research by coordinating with independent experts and preserving documentation of ownership history. They help establish a credible chain of title and draft robust disclosures to mitigate fraud risks. These services support dealers in communicating accurately about items, defending against counterfeit claims, and maintaining trustworthy catalogs and appraisals for buyers, insurers, and auction houses.

Contract Drafting and Review for Acquisitions and Sales

For acquisitions, consignments, and sales, civil attorneys provide contract drafting and contract review to protect both buyers and sellers. This includes preparing purchase agreements, consignment contracts, and bills of sale. They address critical terms such as condition reporting, delivery timelines, risk transfer, returns, warranties, and dispute resolution provisions. Clear contracts help minimize misunderstandings and establish a solid framework for ongoing dealer relationships.

    Auction, Gallery, and Marketplace Disputes

In auction houses, galleries, and online marketplaces, civil attorneys handle auction disputes, bidding irregularities, and dispute resolution related to item provenance or payment. They can advise on enforceable auction terms, protect against unfair bidding practices, and assist with enforcement of judgments or settlements. This support helps maintain fair marketplace operations and preserves the reputation of Indianapolis shops.

Intellectual Property, Reproductions, and Catalog Rights

The sale and display of antique images and catalogs involve intellectual property considerations. Attorneys can address licensing, copyright, and trademark concerns related to catalog imagery, reproduction rights, and branding. They help establish clear terms for reproductions, manage rights to photographs of antiques, and safeguard the shop’s intellectual property while respecting the rights of artists and makers.

    Estate Planning, Succession, and Valuation

Civil attorneys assist with estate planning and business succession for family-owned antique businesses. Services may include planning for transfer of ownership, continuity of inventory, and governance structures. They also coordinate estate valuations and appraisals of significant collections, ensuring proper documentation for heirs, trusts, and charitable dispositions, while addressing potential tax implications and fiduciary responsibilities.

    Insurance, Shipping, and Risk Management

Antique dealers face unique risks in shipping and storage. Attorneys help with insurance coverage, risk transfer strategies, and claims handling in case of loss or damage during transit. They review and negotiate shipping contracts, storage agreements, and transit riders, ensuring terms that align with the value and fragility of objects and that liability allocations are clear.

Tax, Compliance, and Consumer Protection for Dealers

Legal counsel can guide antique shops on tax compliance, including sales tax collection, eligibility for exemptions, and accurate bookkeeping. They review licensing requirements and help ensure adherence to consumer protection laws in advertising, descriptions, returns, and refunds. Through proactive compliance, shops reduce exposure to penalties and preserve customer trust in Indianapolis markets.

Frequently asked questions about antique shops in Indianapolis

    What counts as an antique?

An antique is generally defined as an item that is at least 100 years old, though sellers may also use the term rare or historic for items from the early 20th century. In practice, many shoppers in Indianapolis distinguish between antique, vintage, and collectible pieces, each with different timelines and markets. When shopping, look for patina, hand-crafted details, and original parts as indicators of authenticity.

How can I verify the authenticity of an item?

Authenticity can be evaluated by checking maker marks, provenance, and the item’s condition. Ask shop staff or a trusted appraiser for notes about original finishes, replacements or repairs. Compare the piece to documented references, catalogs, or expert guides.

How is value determined for antiques in Indianapolis?

Value depends on factors like condition, age, maker, rarity, and provenance. Local markets may reward Mid-Century Modern items or regional furniture with strong demand. Always compare with auction results and shop estimates to gauge current market value.

Is it appropriate to negotiate prices in antique shops?

Many antique shops in Indianapolis are open to reasonable offers, particularly for items priced with some flexibility. Start with a respectful offer, be prepared to walk away, and consider asking for a bundle discount if purchasing multiple items. Remember that pricing may reflect condition or provenance.

Where are good neighborhoods to find antique shops in Indianapolis?

Key areas to explore include Mass Ave, Fountain Square, and Irvington, each offering distinct shops with a mix of period furniture, collectibles, and retro decor. Schedule a day to walk these districts, as many stores are locally owned and have rotating inventory.

What should I bring when shopping for antiques?

When visiting shops, bring a notebook for notes, a measuring tape, and a list of items to research. If you’re evaluating a larger piece, sketch layout plans or measure the space at home to ensure fit. It is helpful to bring a source of color reference for finishes and a trusted magnifier for markings.

What about restoration and repairs—do they affect value?

Restoration can impact value. Some shops perform professional restoration or recommend specialists, but be aware that extensive rework can affect authenticity and provenance. Always ask for an estimate and documentation of any alterations.

Do antique shops offer appraisals or certificates of authenticity?

Many shops offer appraisals or can refer you to a certified appraiser. An official written appraisal may be required for insurance, estate planning, or sale. Fees vary by professional and scope, so confirm the cost upfront.

How can I protect my purchase after bringing it home?

After buying, protect your item with proper insurance and appropriate climate control. Use protective wrapping for transport, and consider professional packaging or shipping to avoid damage. Store delicate finishes away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity.

What should I know about taxes, shipping, and insurance?

Indiana sales tax may apply to purchases from retail stores, including many antique shops. If shipping, choose a reputable third-party shipper with proper packing and insurance. For valuable items, obtain shipping insurance and confirm the delivery method and signature requirements.
