I’ve been taking my dog here for a few years now and have always had a positive experience. I have a fearful/anxious dog and Natalie has always been so great with her, highly recommend to others!!
We gave our dog for his first haircut. I can cut my dog like that too! And I also do NOT know how to do it! Why would I take him to a salon for this?? We just got a dog that was almost shaved bald in the winter. Now my dog sleeps by the heater because she is cold. Dogs are not cut that short in the winter! Although my husband showed you a photo of the haircut we would like to get and we said that the body does not need to be cut short! We did not get anything close to this. I also have a grooming kit and it has a 7 mm cutting attachment that cuts short without any transitions between parts of the dog's body. This is not the kind of haircut you pay money for! You need to study to be a groomer and understand what season and how much hair needs to be cut from different dog breeds so that the dog does not freeze! Plus, you need to be able to give the coat the desired shape depending on the breed of the dog. All dogs have different hair patterns. This is an obvious fact that a groomer should know. But of course it is more convenient to cut everyone's hair the same way and not worry! Right? The tail was not cut at all. The eyes were cut off, so she looks like a sick dog! The belly is completely shaved bald! In winter! Now I will have to buy a warm jumpsuit for walks. Even the beautiful eyebrows are almost cut off. I am writing this because I have something to compare with. Believe me! We received a dog simply clipped with a machine, and not a beautiful haircut. I am attaching here a photo of how we cut it ourselves and how it was before and what kind of haircut we got after the salon. You can compare! Before this it was a cute teddy bear, but it turned out to be a mangy poodle! We took the dog at 9.00 in the morning and picked it up only at 3.00 in the afternoon. And the groomer was 20 minutes late. And this is actually a working day!! So! 6 hours! What we got took 6 hours? This means that the hairdressers in the salon do not understand their qualifications and cannot determine how long it will take to cut a particular breed of dog. Or they simply do not respect other people's time.
Dropped Maggie off @ 9 AM for her apt with Justin. He wasn’t there , she said I’ll have him call you when he gets here to go over Maggie’s haircut. Never called me, I called around 3:30 to see if she was done. They said 4:45. They handed her to me at 5 PM and after a quick hand off "she did great make sure she pees before getting in the car okay have a good day" We are finally home and I can’t believe this was $110, choppiest haircut ever, random long strands of hair, her paws look terrible, this was definitely so rushed. If you can’t groom golden doodles/poodles just say so instead of doing this. And I don’t want a reply with dumb excuses. We will not be coming back.
I took my dog to this place three times. A female groomer did an okay job (but still not the best compared to my dog’s previous groomer in Virginia). The second time, a male groomer cut her VERY ugly… I also told him not to cut my dog’s ear hair. However, he accidentally cut part of her ear hair, which we had for over a year. The tear stains and eye boogers were also still on my dog’s face. The third time, I requested service from the first female groomer. I asked them when would be the latest time I could arrive (I live in West Lafayette). They told me 9 am. Then, when I arrived at 9:05 am, the female groomer showed up with a grumpy face and told me she only accepts dogs from 8-8:30 am. After she realized that it was their front desk lady who told me to come at 9 am, she still looked at the clock on the wall with a mad face when I was talking to her. Okay. Then, I finished whatever I needed to do in Indianapolis, so I arrived at their place slightly earlier. Then, the female groomer, whom I requested to groom my dog, was walking another dog outside. She looked at me awkwardly and said my dog would be done soon. Another male groomer was cutting my dog’s hair. When he put my dog on her leash, he also used the leash the wrong way. When we went back home, I also noticed that her breast was red and painful to touch. Finally, let’s see the differences between my dog’s previous groomer’s fantastic job and the "artwork" in the pic. Never go back again. To be honest, I’m speechless. Edit 1: Instead of apologizing to customers, it seems like they prefer adding fake five star reviews. After my review, all of the sudden, all the long term customers started to talk about their experience of years in the review. Isn’t it interesting? Edit 2: Okay. After I commented on your abnormal increase of long-term customers' positive reviews, you finally responded to me quickly—after a month of my review. Otherwise, you only "contacted the customers to leave you five-star reviews" and clicked and liked these "five-star reviews." "I seemed very happy??" I did not post anything after the second ugly haircut, because I thought it was just one time, one groomer's job. (note the pink jacket pics were from this time. The groomer cut part of my dog's right ear fur, making her look asymmetrical. It took my dog one year to have this length. I don't think you can solve the problem by a simple re-trim - her right ear fur is still weird right now, three months after the damage. I told the groomer, "Do not cut her ear hair," right before he took my dog. Moreover, on her left eye, tear stains and eye boogers were still there after grooming. Her body hair was uneven as well.) After the second time of grooming, I booked your service again and specifically requested the first female groomer's service. Then what have I got? The female groomer was annoyed at me "being late" - It was your management team's fault for not communicating well within your team. You said I did not communicate with you/call you. However, when I was talking to the groomer about my expectations for the third time grooming, she was looking at the clock with an annoyed face. She said in a condescending way, "because your dog is small, I can still accept her." You messed up with the meeting time, not me. Even if my dog was large, you still needed to accept her, with a friendly face- cuz it was your fault, not your customer’s fault. In the end, by arriving at your place slightly earlier, I found out that she was walking another dog rather than grooming my dog. 🙂 I sincerely hope you can reflect on your management and how your groomers treat customers and do their job rather than adding all the positive reviews. - benefit yourself in the long run plz. Also. Thanks for calling me Ma’am but calling all other reviewer’s names, makes you sound like a racist. You are welcome. For other customers - if you want to have negative experiences in such a holistic way, Broad Ripple Canine Design is the right place to go.
Thank you guys so much!! This was my first time here and they didn’t disappoint. They were so quick to get my 2 big, not so easy to handle dogs in for a trim. We were in and out in no time. I really appreciate their patience with my bucking bronco of a dog ☺️
Allison did amazing with my husky!! He’s pure white and just looks so beautiful after a deshedding, brush and blow dry. I really appreciate her taking the time to get all his knots out!
We love Broad Ripple K9! Mikey always does an amazing job and is so professional. Even when seasons change he knows to ask if we need to switch it up! Our pup used to hate the groomers and now gets excited to see Mikey! Doodles are not easy to groom, and he always looks so cute! Could not recommend Mikey enough.
