The young man (I forgot to ask his name) but he is a sophomore at IU interested in going to PT school, did an excellent job at hearing and seeing the type of shoe he needed (pronation control with the width to accommodate a mild hallux valgus on the right). The new machine they have to assess seemed to be accurate too (not just something to dazzle the in-informed). He was able to give good advice based on first hand experience with the shoes, but also based on other customer feedback back. I was impressed, but of course I have referred patients to this store for years, and buy my own shoes here. I am a board certified orthopedic PT, also a certified orthopedic manipulative therapist, so biomechanics of the lower half and spine has been my jam

I’ve shopped at Athletic Annex many times. Always a positive experience. Today LeeAnn took care of me. She took her time listening to my needs and right away which brand (s) of shoes I should try. She brought several pairs out to try on. She was very patient, kind and courteous. For these reasons I was confident about my purchase and I was able to use my points.

My husband and I both bought running shoes from the 86th St. location. The staff immediately greeted us. We were helped by Alec, who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful about each brand of shoe along with each line. His customer service was top notch. This location had plenty of inventory. We both would definitely recommend Athletic Annex for runners and non- runners alike.

I had such a great experience at this running store. The staff consistently go above and beyond to help. They’re knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely care about making sure you get exactly what you need. It’s rare to find customer service this exceptional anymore. I left feeling supported, confident, and grateful. If I could give them six stars I would! Highly recommend them to any runner—beginner or experienced!

Treated the C3 (Christina’s Complete Clean) staff to new shoes today! Housecleaning can be very hard on the body! Now fitted in the right shoes for each person, I hope it’s a little less taxing with all the miles they walk in a day! The staff at Athletic Annex were amazing in educating everyone on proper footwear!! It’s such a treat to treat yourself!! Go here, get new shoes!! It’s worth it!!

Had a great experience at Athletic Annex! I had issues like knee pain and I thought maybe it was time I found a new pair of running shoes that would fit me better. Gary helped me with my feet scanning and found me a perfect pair. He was so knowledgable and answered all of my questions. It was so helpful. I have been running happily in my new shoes pain-free! I highly recommend this store.

Ordered a shoe direct from their site. Referred this store to my friend who ordered the same shoe and size. They cancel my order and send my friend his shoe, who placed the order after me. No explanation from them why they cancelled my order, in fact the email they sent said I cancelled the order. I forward the email to their customer service. They told me they ran out of stock and tried to order the shoe for me from the vendor's site but it was sold out. Pure gaslighting. At least be honest with me.

I’ve been going here for years and have always been happy shopping here. Recently got help from an employee named Kyle. Excellent vibe and customer service from him. He knows his bike gear and helped me learn about some cool programs REI offers to co-op members. The manager there near closing time, didn’t get her name, was also incredibly helpful. I’d rather shop in store than online and today’s experience reminded me why. Stoked they have such good employees there. Also bought a yeti cooler because they were all so nice and helpful. 🤘🏾 In an age where the internet rules sales it’s nice to see employees like these with great people skills.

I’ve now been in the store three times over the past two weeks, and each visit has been a complete miss. Every time, I’ve come in ready to purchase a significant amount of gear—shoes, a pack, a tent, a sleeping bag, and more—as I’m preparing for a backpacking trip in Utah. Not once has anyone approached me to offer help or ask if I needed assistance finding anything. The one employee I did manage to speak with had no idea what I was referring to and honestly didn’t seem suited to be working in an outdoor-focused store. I even tried coming in at different times of day hoping to find someone knowledgeable or at least interested in helping a paying customer, but no luck. I ended up doing all my research online and making my purchases online as well. Experiences like this are exactly why physical retail stores are struggling—customers don’t want to deal with uninterested or inexperienced staff when they’re ready to buy.

I chose this company based on a referral and expected better customer service. I was not acknowledged upon arrival and stood waiting while others were assisted. When I was finally approached, the tone felt dismissive. I hope the company takes this feedback as an opportunity to improve how customers are welcomed and assisted.

We came looking for a tent and Max gave us excellent advice on advantages/disadvantages of the different types without us getting pressured into a sale. There was plenty choice and we found everything we needed. The prices are not discount, but then again, if you value good advice there is a price to pay

Despite not buying anything and explaining that I probably wouldn’t Anders took the time to explain all the intricacies of sleeping bags and bivies and sleeping mats. He explained if you buy a 50 dollar item you will get your 30 dollar REI coop sign up refunded. He even stopped me from signing up because I want ready to buy yet so that I can get my 30 dollars back! He didn’t have to do that! He is customer focused and dedicated to providing value and he is very smart too! Thanks Anders. You won REI my business when I do buy a my sleep system!

One of the best retail experiences I’ve ever had. Super friendly staff, amazing selection of premium outdoor gear. I could spend all day there and just hangout talking to the owners. Picked up a sweet knife for sale too. Also a ski shop!

Wow, this is a really great store. As a fellow retailer, I know how difficult it is to be this good and really appreciate it. They also have an excellent selection of knives from my favorite manufacturers. Not something I was expecting to find here, but really appreciated. Skip REI and come to this gem!

People are experienced hikers. Very friendly. What they didn't have in stock they ordered for me.

Rusted Moon Outfitters has a great selection of gear and clothing if you are getting ready to hit the trail. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. There is parking in the rear of the building and you can enter the store through the back door.

Stopped in on a whim to see what they had before stopping at REI and was pleasantly surprised! Bought an MSR stove I have been wanting for a while for $10 cheaper than any of the big box stores. They have all the major brands for gear, clothing, snow and travel. Friendly knowledgeable staff! I’m from South Bend and there really aren’t many true camping stores up there, so when I’m in Indy I always stop and get stuff. Rusted Moon Outfitters will be my first stop from here on out!

I recently had an extremely enjoyable experience at Rusted Moon. I will add that Jake and his staff are informed and and good listeners. When in need of gear this should definitely be a place to go for your needs.

Was looking for a couple particular items I couldn’t find. One employee found one of the items and another researched and found they were out of the other. She also said they had 9 at a nearby location or I could have one sent to their store or shipped to me. Was just super impressed with the service from both ladies.

Usually no problems. Love this Rally Houae. This time however, 3 items purchased with sizes we would normally buy and all eaxh item ran small 2 were exchanged the same day..the third I was confident it would be fine so didnt try it on, only later to find out it too was too small or mismarked So now I must make.another trip for an exchange or refund BTW all items were National Championship items.

The sales staff were amazing! I needed help with obtaining Ball State clothing and they helped me to find what I needed. Since it was early Christmas shopping and I was purchasing a lot of goods, they let me pile up my purchases on the checkout counter. I realize that this would not be possible during the regular Christmas season, but, none the less, I was able to do it. I walk with a cane and it was helpful to do "piling." The staff also introduced me to the Rally House website and I continue my Rally House Christmas shopping from my home in Georgia. Thank you!!

Was greeted when I entered the store. Received help when I couldn’t find a medium in the item I was looking at. The employee at checkout was very helpful, pleasant and when I mentioned I was purchasing a gift….took extra care to put it in a nice bag with tissue. Was again greeted by employees as I left the store.

I was wowed at the very wide selection of IU championship items this store had! I easily found gifts for my boyfriend and even a number of things I wanted for myself! I had to make some hard decisions about what to buy and what to come back for later… and the staff were super friendly and helpful! I will definitely be returning to this store in the near future!

1. Did not have the shirt size I needed 2. Wanted a crimson colored ball hat with the white letter ( I ) for Indiana and you do not carry this. Please bring this back to your store.

The store itself was nice enough. Suppliers of shirts, sweatshirts, etc., should provide more options (I’m talking about IU natty) that aren’t plastered with large graphics. I found a T I loved, but the back of the shirt was printed from top to bottom. Why not provide more options for people who don’t want loud designs?

What a fun place! They stock so many items for the Indiana college and pro teams! The employees are friendly and very helpful. Unsure how I never found this store before!

Greeted at the door with the offer of help if needed. Store was well stocked, well organized and attractive. Enjoyed browsing. Staff was eager to assist when I needed help reaching items. Check out was professional and friendly. I felt well taken care of and was very pleased with my purchases.

We came in an hour before closing Saturday night to purchase some Colts gear for the game on Sunday. The staff was more interested in moping and vacuuming to help us and then proceeded to be irritated when we had to walk on the mopped floors. I really appreciate the guy vacuuming around us while we were trying to pick out some merchandise. I'm glad I do not live in the area, because I will never go back here.

My in-store experience was great. But I am disappointed that I was told you needed my email should I need to make a return. I was also told that the barrage of promotional emails could and would be turned off per my request. Unfortunately that is not happening as I have received an email promotion everyday since my purchase. Once I know I don't need to make a return I will go in and unsubscribe. I am just sad that I thought your store was going to take care of this for me.

As usual Fleet Feet was outstanding. This location as others have knowledgeable staff and are very patient. Roger did recommend the extra activities offered and ask that I join them. Keep up the good work.

Great place to find the best running shoes. Jimmy's the man; he helped me out a lot. He showed me a great variety of options and also gave me some great insights on my shoe size and running style. Second time buying from Fleet Feet and the experience did not disappoint!

Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff! Appreciated the one on one time helping us choose the right running shoe for our daughter. They use cool equipment to determine the type of shoe needed for each individual based on foot and walking patterns. Quality shoes, nice return policy, and better staff!

Very helpful staff but the selection is limited, and for some weird reason they won’t order shoes to the store if they don’t have your size or color.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced at a retail store. I received a pair of shoes for Christmas that did not work. As they were a gift, I did not have a receipt. She scanned the barcode to confirm they were from that store and shared with me that I could return them for $7.00. They are currently $104.99 on the website. I requested an exchange and she said they could not accommodate that either unless it was the exact same pair. No apology, just said that's our return policy. Dick's you have lost a customer for life. Thanks for taking care of your customers!

This is at castleton square mall..with an access to the mall.. employed just only 5 people i think inside the store? Difficult to find somebody for help..

EXTREMELY rude people who answer the phone!! Not sure how they expect anyone to want to come shop there when every single person in person and over the phone is rude.

This store has no semblance of what customer service is. I had such a difficult time finding someone to help us get a size for some football cleats. We finally got the cleats for my son. It was already 9 pm and they were closing so we hurried to the register. The cashier didn't even acknowledge that me and my son were standing there waiting. Without even looking at us, she waved us over. She scanned the cleats, put them in the bag and waited for me to pay. I was paying with cash but she thought that I was going to insert my card. I stood there extending the $100 bill until she realized that I had the money extended toward her. She grabbed it and gave me my change without saying a single word to me. I said THANK YOU loudly but she completely ignored me and turned to tell some younger employees to open the doors since they had already locked them. I didn't notice her name tag but according to my receipt, her name is Kimmie. My son commented that she was probably having a bad day. That's still no excuse to be rude and completely ignore the customer. I was very disappointed in her poor customer service.

Came in Saturday with my two boys & Marnie from footwear was phenomenal!! Went above and beyond to look for a shoe that hadn’t been located, helped us with over several shoes!! Very informative and holds a great conversation while getting the job done! Great job& Great worker !

In this day and age companies can't afford to not have customer service. I asked for 3 pairs of shoes and that was the end of the interaction with the sales associate. Luckily I'm honest and I left 2 pairs on the bench. It's worth mentioning I had to break up 4 employees to get help. The associate then scanned every shoe to tell me I had to buy it online or I had to inform him that the website said the shoes was in stock. I normally buy shoes from GOAT and this is why. I wanted to try shoes new shoes for daily wear and I'm unfamiliar with Hoka, NB, and Asics is the only reason I traveled the 30 minutes, regretfully. This is from a former Footlocker and Foot Action manager. These stores are way too comfortable and that's why I come here to let them know I can shop elsewhere. The cashier was awesome!

Bralyn was very helpful and patient as we tried on 7 pairs of cleats and figured out what we needed for our children, all while dealing with other customers.

Got my ski boots here a few years ago. They still work great. Completely transformed how comfortable I am on the mountain. Highly recommend you go to a shop like this and find a pair of boots that fit just right.

Long-time renter, first-time buyer. Went in knowing almost nothing, but Sam was super helpful in getting the right ski gear. For gear you're going to be using for a long time, worth taking a visit to get the right stuff. Would highly recommend. Could probably use some more signs — the store is situated inside the boat / rv complex.

Knowledgeable, Honest, and Fair. Great qualities that could not be more true of Sum Valley Sports. I went in to get fitted for ski boots and quickly received the best care from Sam. He was tremendously knowledgeable about boots and boot fitting, and a great guy to talk to about skiing in general. I’ll definitely be going back for anything and everything.

Sun Valley Sports doesn’t have to do much to be the best winter sports store in Indy, but that doesn’t stop them from providing awesome service. I always rented snowboarding gear as a kid, so this was my first time getting fitted for everything. Bryson was incredibly helpful and patient in getting me set up. He got me into a pair of boots and explained the differences between the types/sizes of boards. He didn’t try to sell me the most expensive things, just explained what made each board unique and I settled on one that I felt was right. Much appreciated.

Super fun place for snow or sun! There fall ski gear sale and swap is epic, With good fines on both new and used equipment. When you get there, ask for Sam. He is fantastic. He will take time with you, explaining different gear and making sure that you were outfitted the right way!

Overall great selection in all departments. However, especially in the bolt action rifle section, they have all kinds of calibers for a couple rifles rather than a wider variety in make and model. Staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Prices are usually higher than the competition.

Ordered a generator online and had a good experience with the store. The employee was friendly and quickly processed my pickup and even loaded in into the car. Nice store.

We went looking for help in the gun/bow area of the floor. No one helped us. We asked for a manager and he didn't help us. Its like they were there but couldn't care less if they helped anyone let alone sold anything. They wouldn't let us shoot a bow (BTW Brownsburg did!). I noticed an issue with a bow yet when I brought it to their attention. He grunted and worked on that instead of calling the manager we asked for. The only person who was nice was the girl at the entrance. Do better.

We're always shopping for cutting edge hunting gear. We're very pleased with their knowledgeable staff in Sporting Goods and their ample supply of in stock inventory. They even have a selection of tracking collars for training dogs, and other high tech hunting gear.

I bought the wrong sight for my husband’s rifle as a gift. I went back to get the correct one and Farrah helped me not only get the right sight but honored a coupon I used with my first purchase. Farrah was wonderful and quickly helped me get the correct equipment. We will for sure be back! Thank you!

I purchased a gun from Sportsman online, solely because it was listed as same day pick up. I patiently waited 5 days for "processing" before contacting customer service. Only to be informed that my order was being shipped instead. The supervisor/team leadI spoke with was extremely rude, unprofessional and she canceled my order, even though I told her multiple times I still wanted the item. She lied stating that it was at my request, then later changed the reason for her canceling my order to because I was gifting it. So apparently when you buy a gun from Sportsman, it can never be put in anyone else's name, that's if a supervisor doesn't cancel your order

A great place to start shopping for sporting goods. Especially for your children just beginning a sport. Great selection of used and some new equipment. Nice golf selection too. They buy used equipment fair price or credit.

07/15/2025 We called to ask if they had size 13 rollerblades in stock and the gentleman on the phone said yes, so next day we drove to the store. While trying on that pair, they said they had another pair just come so we tried those on and bought those instead. Trevor and the other gentleman were great to work with, very helpful and knowledgeable with the stick in the store. Definitely would recommend this store for your used sports equipment.

They just tried to charge me $40 per Muay Thai pad, not as a pair. When I asked what would I do with just one he insulted my intelligences and said that's how the manufacturer sells them. When I showed him that's not true and a brand new pair can be delivered for $60 he dropped the price. Thanks the the desk I won't be shopping there. After reading the reviews this seems like q great business plan for Johnson County but all you need is a better workforce and a company like this could really thrive. Good idea for any other investors out there. Easy competition with this one. All you need is some hospitality and people who want to work there.

Edit** If Google would allow me to attach my picture then I gladly would. But it was a TriFlex Arm sleeve, so technically it is baseball, but you guys were all out of football sleeves, so for the sake of football pictures, we bought it for the night. I asked about the price, and your store associate at the counter said that the red tag was already marked down. This place used to be the go-to for all of our football needs, but nowadays the prices are way overpriced, especially for a second-hand store. Today when we went in, they had their 50% off red tag sale, and we were looking for a football sleeve for our son and found one and the tag said $19.99. We browsed a bit more before checking out, and when we got to the counter, we assumed that it would be only $10 since the tag clearly said $19.99, but we were informed that the price on the tag was already the final marked-down price. It was no big deal, so we still bought it, but on the way home, our son happened to peel back the red sticker, and lo and behold, the ORIGINAL sticker underneath was for the same EXACT price! 🤣 Come on guys you could have at least spent the time to rip off the old sticker before trying to pull a "Target" and "Kohls" move on your customer. Absolutely shameful and definitely changes my view quite a bit of place.

My experience getting my glove relaced was disappointing. I dropped it off and received a call the next day that left me feeling judged for the glove I brought in. I don’t think I should have to justify my choice—I simply couldn’t afford a $300 glove after already spending hundreds to get my daughter everything she needed for her first softball season. After her season ended, I joined a league and noticed several others had the same glove. I just wanted to add a personal touch to make mine stand out a bit. When I picked it up after the weekend, I was underwhelmed by the quality of the work. The more I looked at it, the more it seemed like the job reflected the same dismissive tone from that earlier phone call—like it wasn’t worth their time to do it right. My kids love going here. They love to just look around and dream, but we usually go here to get cleats or shin guards or other necessary things for sports they are playing. Employees always seem friendly.

As I customer I felt as if I wasn’t welcomed. No greeting as I enter the store, immediately eye contact from the woman that’s employed by this location. I say and watched how others were greeted as wanting this location. They were welcomed with smiles in addition to not being followed. As my daughter and I were shopping for my grandson a football helmet. My skin color was not at all welcomed at this location.
