Find interesting toys and board games here. Get a cup of coffee and some snacks at the embedded Starbucks. There is also a play area for junior explorers.

Great bookstore. So many interesting books on every theme. Found many on spirituality, personal growth psychology for my taste.

I’d been looking locally for a copy of Invisible Women for months and the customer service desk was able to confirm that they had it and directed me accordingly. I ended up lingering a while longer and picked up a few more books. The staff was friendly and very helpful!

My husband and I are book lovers and collectors. We found the most beautiful copy of Wind in the Willows (vintage) and had to purchase it today. The store attendant was so pleasant to interact with and had several recommendations on where to find readings locally. The store was beautifully decorated (see my photos) and had a great selection of new and used books. We were also able to contribute to literacy when checking out. All in all a great experience. Stop in here if you’re checking out Mass Ave!

I like what I witnessed and a very good conversation circle for people trying to improve their English Language skills. I’m looking forward to learning more about their services to potentially help my student families learning English and also may need help with literacy. Thank you!!

This was my first time going to a non-chain bookstore and it was great! The atmosphere was very bookish, the place was nice and clean, and the displays were interesting. It had a very “come sit down and read or play some chess or do some homework” feel to it, which I loved. Wish I had one of these close to my house!!

Indy Reads is a wonderful place dedicated to literacy and fostering a love of reading. There’s always some fun event there to attend, and the collection of books they have is impressive.

This is one of my favorite bookstores. I love the work they do for the community. They have great prices and have had free books from time to time. They also support local artists and crafts makers. When I think of community I think of Indy Reads

Driving in Indy when I randomly came across this gem and it is hands down one of the best bookshops I’ve ever been to. The shop itself is beautiful, bright, and inviting and the books are so organized that it makes browsing so peaceful. If you’re a book lover, this is a must visit!

Beautiful and cozy store! Fairly well stocked manga/graphics novel section and awesome kids area. I really love the note cards by the books with insights and staff favorites to help me find a new treasure. The staff is friendly and helpful. The woman who checked me out gave me a great recommendation about freebies on the author’s website of the children’s book I was buying. The only downside was I had trouble parking but I did visit on the Indy Indie Book Crawl so it may not be as hectic normally. I will definitely be back!

New favorite bookstore! Their merch is inclusive and they are warm, friendly, and offer excellent book recommendations. I picked up a copy of Alice Munro’s Runaway-fantastic choice.

An extremely cute bookstore in Indy with anything from funky bookmarks to personal library sets, and the cherry on the top is that you can sit and work in cozy corners with free wifi! The staff is super nice to let you help yourself to yummy tea and very helpful if you want to chit-chat about book recommendations! Plus you can also donate/sell your books here, they have book club events that you can join 🙂

HUGE bookstore. Their use of space is really incredible. They are able to fit so many books that it becomes incredibly hard to limit yourself to only one book, or two books, or three…or four. Usually they have more than one copy of new books too, so if you go with a friend you can both pick up a copy for a buddy read. They also have book clubs, including a horror bookclub!

The Whispering Shelf is a magical little book shop! I could have spent hours browsing. The shelves being painted the green is one of my favorite things ever! They had a great selection of books. They have a cozy seating area in case you want to stay a while after you buy some goodies.

My very first time to this establishment my husband took me. Very friendly and inviting customer service was top notch. Found alot of interesting pieces. Upon checking out the cashier had signed me up to become a rewards member so now I am all set. Would definitely recommend this spot and looking forward to returning.

This store is a hidden queer oasis in a deeply red state. I cannot believe they’re celebrating their 25th anniversary! It is so amazing to see a strong, queer-owned & -operated business thrive. I found so much great stuff – high-quality jewelry, books, magnets, stickers, tarot cards, and candles, just to name a few. I can’t wait to go back and get some more great stuff. I only knocked a star off bc the individual who rang me up was really cold and dismissive to me. The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. I asked a couple of questions, just trying to be friendly and got curt, one-word answers (I mean, I guess I get it… Small talk is kinda the worst!). I’ll definitely be back!

They have so many cute and fun items here. I use my snoopy bag I got here as my everyday bag and they always have a good selection of baggu. Personally have been getting stickers, pins, and car freshener here for birthday gifts for my friends. The jewelry section is really pretty, it is on the pricey side, but worth for what they are selling. Unfortunately, I go pass here on my way to work and have probably spent too much money. However, they do have a point program, so one day it will pay off. Also a great Christmas and holiday collection.

Awesome place! Got so many cool knickknacks trinkets and gifts. The store is incredibly fun to walk through and you can spend hours wondering around finding different things. Very friendly staff and a fun place to shop for unique gifts.

I absolutely love this shop! They always have the cutest holiday-themed items like decorations, gift wraps, tumblers, etc. The staff is super friendly too!

My favorite queer little gift shop in the world! I come here whenever I’m in town just for the immaculate vibes. A little cramped, but there’s a wonderful sense of community and acceptance you won’t find anywhere else.

Spending Black History Month being intentional about seeking out and patronizing black-owned businesses. Loudmouth Books is a warm & cozy space nestled just north of downtown Indy. My goal was to secure a copy of To Kill A Mockingbird & ended up also grabbing another great book too! The man behind the counter was kind and courteous and helped me locate the now “banned” book I was seeking. I appreciated the children’s book nook which was also warm and inviting for children of all ages! If you find yourself in this area, be sure to stop in and shop this fantastic addition to the city!

An excellent inclusive small bookstore. They’ve got a little smattering of kids, YA, adult fiction, and non fiction. Very good selection of books om activism and social justice. Very kind staff!

What a wonderful gem. I walked into this store and was amazed with all the wonderful books, journals, stickers, and best of all t-shirts even in my 3x size!!! Everyone there, even the other customers were so fun and friendly. Full of information and can order books easily they do not have.
Can’t wait to go back.

I am always intentional where I spend my money. This includes when I travel. I searched a black owned bookstore and was pleasantly surprised with Loudmouth. The selection is varied and the vibe is very welcoming. I travel for work so the fact that they have the Librofm app available is awesome. I bought a few things to support because I don’t have the luxury to actually sit quietly and read. This place is something special!

I visited this store for the first time yesterday and had the best experience! Very vibrant, cozy, and welcoming space!! Krissy was so helpful finding great short reads for me! If only I had visited this store sooner but I will be back!!

This bookstore is absolutely adorable!!! I could not recommend a place more. The owner is the sweetest woman you will ever meet and is so kind to anyone who walks through her door. She will give you excellent book recommendations and has the cutest inventory that includes original vintage books and older books that are reprinted in the cutest way. A lot of her books have woman authors AND she will educate you about the book to see if you wanna buy it. She handcrafts her own vintage notebooks that have the cutest art pieces, book, covers and even record covers! This place is seriously adorable from its inventory to the store itself. I couldn’t recommend a bookstore more. If you are in the area and are looking to add to your collection please come here and support a local woman owned business. Also her cats are so sweet and adorable.

I stopped in this bookstore with my kids and we all enjoyed it. The owner was so nice, gave us recommendations, and let us know what was coming in her next shipment. She sells antique books, new editions and notebooks that she makes with covers made from old album covers. I recommend checking this place out.

Such a cute shop with plenty of good books to browse, handmade note books (covers have vintage vinyl), records, and a cute little furry friend to guide you on your way. The overall vibe is a warm welcoming environment. The owner was so sweet and very welcoming.

An absolutely adorable little book shop, filled with vintage books, hand crafted notebooks, and some of the cutest handmade paper flowers! The owner was wonderful to talk to and shared with us other local bookstores in the area! Cannot wait to visit again!

This little place is a hidden gem! The owner is so kind, knows every book and author, books are in great shape, and there is an adorable friendly cat in the store. I picked up several unique postcards that had been mailed in the ’40s – only a few dollars each. So glad to find such an awesome store in my neighborhood.

This book shop is so cute and there is a wonderful selection of vintage books and newer reprints mostly from female authors. I ended up talking to the owner for a bit and she is the sweetest. Could not recommend a book store more.

I love to visit this store when I go downtown, especially to buy earrings and other jewelry. The staff is always super friendly and helpful! I love the diversity of items to choose from and that the purchases go to a good cause. Today I was shopping for birthday gifts for my daughter and had the pleasure of talking to Jonny. He had great energy, was very friendly, and attentive! He went above and beyond to wrap each item I bought so beautifully. I look forward to going back soon!

Fantastic fair trade store! Most unique gifts at great prices! The kindest staff and atmosphere is what brings me back every time I visit Indianapolis from Chicago!

I love the products and the purpose, but call before you go. I designed a morning around being able to shop there between meetings, only to find out the their hours in their Google listing are inaccurate. And then two employees shrugged this off without any recognition the inconvenience this lead to, and without apology. Just rude.

A wide variety of different items from around the world. I enjoyed the staff’s knowledge of the different items – it was cool to learn while looking at these awesome things. Prices aren’t too outrageous for the type of things there are, and the fact that it’s all fair trade makes this a place I’ll likely return to for gift ideas.

This shop is my favorite in Indy!!! They have stuff from all over the world… as a traveler myself, I fell like im home!!
Its very pricey thou… there are things I want to buy (jewerly specially) that I got for a couple dollars in those countries and they sell it for $30 plus..
Sometimes I grab it, then I put it back and say… I’ll go back to India/Peru/Kenya and buy it there again…
But I still buy some stuff and gifts!!

Such a lovely store! The manager, Chelsea, had a warm and inviting presence and truly brightened our day. The shop is full of locally made and crafted goods that are hard to say no to! Absolutely recommend.

My favorite shop in Fountain Square. Bring in your reusable Tuggle’s tote bag for a small discount. Very hard for me to go in and not buy something!

Tuggles is my absolute favorite store in fountain square. I always find something I love and it’s impossible to get out of there without buying something for myself, even when I’m there to buy gifts. The owners are incredibly sweet and kind people and I love supporting this local business! Attached a photo of our custom wood piece from Tuggles – highly recommend! 🙂

This store is hands down one of the best in Indy! You know instantly the owners put thought into every product in their store. They also support local and display their own talents. If you don’t put this on your list to visit when in Indy. You are doing yourself a disservice. I got both of the abstract art pieces from there. And the owner makes them himself. And the personal touch he puts in to each piece is truly one of a kind.

Tuggles is a wonderful little shop! They have events for children and adults all the time. They carry a lot of locally made goods. Brooke and everyone that works there are so kind and helpful. I highly recommend regular visits if you are local and stopping in if you are visiting Indy!

A wonderful gift shop for Taylor Swift lovers! We went during the Eras tour weekend and had a great time and such a cute selection of stuff!

Such a cute upgrade from their previous location! I really appreciate their efforts to support the local community with their hosting of events and with their supplies being (from what I’ve seen) all local. My absolute favorite lip balm, candles, and soaps have come from here and I’m typically very picky on what I have on my skin and in my home. Thanks for being great!

(American Stonecraft) They treat me well as an artisan, it is a great account for me, and I have nothing but positive words for Jeannie and the other members of the team. Would certainly be worth a visit if you are looking for art, decor, gifts, or other surprises.

Artifacts is the place to go if you want unique, usable art for yourself or as a gift. And the staff is awesome. Had a question about a beautiful clock I bought & Jeannie didn’t hesitate to contact the artist in another state to get me an answer. They’re the best!!

These ladies will bend over backward for you! I found the wedding band design I wanted from a small online artist. Artifacts carried his work and patiently worked with me over multiple visits to get samples sent in store for me to visually inspect and help narrow my decision. They were patient, informative, and incredibly pleasant. I LOVE the piece they got for me and I can’t wait to return to their store!

One of the only local art supply shops left in our city and it’s an absolute gem. Great layout and atmosphere. Chatted with the owner and he was great. Cool stuff you can’t find at all the big box spots. 🙂 SUPPORT LOCAL!

The fine folks at Griffy’s are super helpful and friendly. Our daughter is a student at Herron so we sometimes drop in to pick up things needed in a hurry. The location is also top notch.

I had a fantastic experience going here. One, the stutz building is just gorgeous so any excuse to go in is always a fun time. Two, the person working today helped me find everything I needed as a new painter looking to move to watercolor, and helped me stay right on my budget. The selection obviously won’t be as large as a big hobby store, but the products they do have are obviously selected with care by people who actually use them. I am so excited to get home and dive back in to painting and when I need new materials I will absolutely won’t go anywhere other than Griffys from now on.
