From the host to the server, the service was warm and attentive. The lunch-time Happy Hour is a fun bonus, and the food is consistently good. I had ceviche, truffle salmon, and Philadelphia roll this time and they all great. Definitely coming back for more!

Blu Sushi has turned into my go-to for a great meal when my sushi craving comes knocking. You can’t beat the daily happy hour! We started with the crispy rice and crab rangoons, both delicious. We ordered a spread of rolls including Tidal Wave, Cloud 9 2.0, Pacific Coast, Crunchy LA, Crunchy Blue, and Hotel Cali. We also had a 4 month baby and they were very accommodating. We were seated with plenty of space around us. The vibe was very relaxed. 10/10 experience!

I visited Blue Sushi Sake Grill for lunch during my stay at the Ironworks Hotel. It is located just outside the hotel entrance. The Coconut Crab Soup was everything I hoped it would be and I also would highly recommend the rainbow roll. The outdoor seating made for a peaceful lunch.

Modern neosushi restaurant with a large selection of great food options, with solid vegan options. The salmon was fresh and the sushi was well presented and prepared. Ingredients were fresh to – some of us just want the traditional salmon avocado rolls, not fancy well dressed rice sandwiches.

One of the very best experiences for vegan sushi and amazing service. Thanks to Yahir we had a comfortable and DELICIOUS dining experience. Not only was he attentive with refills but he had wonderful vegan sushi suggestions and kind energy. The vegan cowgirl was to die for and such a unique role. Wow! We tried everything from the spicy Kaluna crunch, eden roll, miso soup, shishito peppers, Cabbage roll, prince roll, and the insanely delicious vegan tuna tower. Everything was mouthwatering and the food came out quickly. They have an amazing happy hour, and I’m really impressed that a restaurant cares enough to include Vegan options at this level. Our small family lunch turned into one of our favorite memories here in Indiana. Even our little seven month old had her first Vegan tuna here. We will make this place a must visit spot everytime we are in town.

One of those places where you can immediately tell you’re eating off the happy hour menu—and not in a charming “bargain find” way. We went during happy hour and, ironically, service was anything but quick. To top it off, our table was sticky enough to make me wonder if it was doubling as a fly trap.

**Food-wise, the shishito peppers were the MVP.** Sautéed with citrus, tamari, and togarashi, they had a bright, savory kick that actually felt like it belonged in a proper kitchen. If the whole meal had been at that level, I’d be raving.

The **Ceviche R** was decent—nice, fresh lime flavor, good shrimp and tilapia, though it was crying out for more tortilla chips. We were left scooping with sadness by the end.

But then came the sushi rolls… oh boy. These felt designed less for taste and more for filling your stomach with rice like a cheap motel packs guests.

* **Crunchy Blue**: 6.5/10 generously. Overloaded with rice, minimal crab mix. The crispy panko and eel sauce couldn’t hide how skimpy it was on actual seafood.
* **Roja R**: 4/10. Bigeye tuna and yellowtail sounded great on paper but got lost in a sea of bland rice and weird soy paper that clashed with everything.
* **Lion King R**: Another 4/10. Same story—lots of rice, precious little fish, plus a wrapping job that seemed more structural engineering than culinary artistry.

It all felt like sushi engineered to pad margins during happy hour rather than delight the diner.

Drinks were the saving grace. The **Raspberry Mojito** was sweet and refreshing, while the **Sangria Spritz** was surprisingly well-balanced, with just enough prosecco sparkle to keep me from despair.

Honestly, if it weren’t for the shishito peppers and the drinks, this would be a solid one-star experience. I’d come back for those two, but if you’re hoping for memorable sushi, you might want to cast your line elsewhere.

My wife and I went here for lunch. We got to the restaurant and the host was very nice. We got seated at the sushi bar as requested. We sat there for over 20 minutes before the server finally showed up to ask us if we wanted drinks. As soon as we ordered waters he tried to speed off we stopped him and said we wanted to order appetizers. Ordered our appetizers. Edamame was great, miso soup was good. The ginger salad was soggy with lots of wilted lettuce. The appetizers took an additional 20 minutes to come out and until then our serve kept ignoring us. We were trying to order our main course. We ordered ebi nigiri and a rainbow roll. The ebi came out super dried out definitely not fresh in any way. The roll came out with the same dried out shrimp on it. The tuna on the roll was discolored and all of the fish on it had a waxy texture not smooth. The fish was not fresh. We spoke with the manager who agreed the shrimp was dried out and appeared not fresh. She said they have the fish flown in all the time through out the week. But was unsure of the scheduling of the flights and how long they kept certain cuts before disposing of them. This has a food quality problem written all over it. This is coming from someone who has has worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry for years. Would never go back there. If you do want good sushi in the area that is at least fresh I suggest the One World Market less than 10 mins away. Yes it is a grocery store, but they offer far fresher cuts of sushi then anywhere I have been so far in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas. If you have a suggestion for a place to try please let me know. I love trying sushi all over the US and other countries!

Had an incredible experience here! The food was seriously amazing — full of bold Latin flavors and perfectly spiced. I had the Terra y Mar and it was hands down one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while. The flavors were rich and balanced, and every bite was packed with personality.

The drinks were just as impressive — creative, well-balanced, and super refreshing. You can tell a lot of thought went into the cocktail menu.

Service was excellent from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and helpful with suggestions. Overall, a great vibe and a place I’ll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend!

I started my dining experience at Delicia with a red sangria and they did not skimp on the brandy and it was all uphill from there. The food at Delicia is bursting with flavor. The fresh ingredients in the guacamole were flavored with lime and kissed with pistachios and jalapeños on the top and served with warm chips. My goodness I thought there’s no way it’ll get better than that, but it did…

My husband ordered the pulpo grilled braised octopus with toasted red potatoes salad, spanish salsa verse and fried lemon, that’s right you’re reading it right, fried lemon and garlic.

For entrees I ordered the Elote pistachio crusted scallops with cauliflower puree(smooth and creamy) and a corn succotash. The flavors married really well and did a happy dance in my mouth with each bite. I gave the dish the clean plate award. It was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor.

My husband had the Cazuela De Mariscos mussels, calamari, shrimp, smoked bay scalloped and rice bathe in a white wine saffron sauce and grilled baguettes. He wolf the delectable seafood dish down, but we didn’t stop there. He ordered the Churros with a chocolate ganache sauce and I had the cut into a wedge bread pudding encircled with creamy dulce de leche cream anglaise and pepitas. Both desserts were delicious.

Most of the clientele spoke the native language and this place is very authentic. Chicharron (pork) and steak pupusas were amazing. It comes with this pickled slaw and they have two kinds of hot sauces. All mixed together even though I only got two pupusas I was full. Would highly recommend and also return. Prices on the main dishes are higher than other restaurants $17.99 for the chicken or beef soup compared to $12.99. Steak plate was $15.99 Breakfast plates look great as well.

The Pupusas are always great, but this most recent order was the best. I’ve been coming here since 2022. This order was esthetically pleasing to the eye, the chicken was everything I have to remember when it comes to Mexican food (Salvadorian in this case) beef is ground beef, you have to specify Steak or Carne Asada one would think having lived in CA age 7-40 by now I’d remember that lol nonetheless the beef Pupusas were meh just ok, but prepared wonderfully just when it comes down to beef if it’s not spaghetti, dirty rice or hamburgers it’s never my preferred meat.
The Horchata is a hit or miss each visit it was a hit this time. I’m gonna have to start asking for a sample cup before ordering because I always order a large.
The employees are always great, even those with limited English do their very best to understand and communicate with you, I appreciate their efforts and courteous demeanor. It’s a pretty cool 1st date atmosphere if I had to recommend one. I forgot to order my chicken Tamalas. It’s been close to a year before this visit.
I would definitely recommend this place and if you enjoy trying new things… try the Pupusas the curtido (cabbage topping) really add to the already great taste.

Cute spot. Friendly service. I ordered the 3 empanadas (southwest and spinach)and chips. Plus the peach cobbler and ice cream. I’m not a fan of peach cobbler but surprisingly, it was the best one I had. My total for everything was about $21. The churros were also really good. The chips tasted homemade. The southwest had too many tomatoes for my liking.

Awesome empanadas! Lots of great choices at a reasonable price! The best one by far is the Birria empanada, it’s so good! The churros also taste good too! They are fried so if you eat a few you will feel a bit heavy after, but it’s okay to indulge every once in a while 😉 the guy who took our order was super nice and he even came out to our car to check in and see how we liked the food! No seating options other than outside on a few picnic tables, very takeout oriented. They even had a drive thru.

I’m a speedway resident and my friends always suggest I bring Che Chori when I come to their house downtown … but we’ve been putting it off for months. Yesterday was the day I finally did!

It far exceeded my expectations. We had the empanada combo (Birria, Argentinian chorizo, and pollo rojo) and the el vacio sandwich. Everything was very good.

There is a bit of a wait, so in the future I’ll probably order online for pick-up! But overall, so worth it. I’ll definitely be back.

Just had the perfect meal after spending all day at the zoo. Service was excellent and the food left nothing to wish for. They serve you the usual chips and salsa when you come in but with a special touch, they give you a side of ceviche that’s very well prepared, not many places have the skills to make such high quality ceviche. Also, the sauces, chef’s kiss! They give you three different kinds and all are delicious! Oh, and don’t let me forget about the natural drinks, highly recommend Maracuya is so delicious and refreshing. Staff was attentive and kind. Don’t get discouraged because of how it looks when you first get there, trust me you will not regret eating here!

All food items AMAZING! Todos la comidas-encantamos!! The horchata was good but couldve had more cinnamon in it. Waitress forgot about our pepsi a couple times but everything made up for it. Area was quiet not busy at all, great music, kindness everywhere, the churros fue muy bien omg con helado fresa?! Not what i expected in good ways! The chicken was so good seasoned great and the asada was very thin and soft with amazing flavor. Fajitas hot for so long and so were the tortillas!!!!! French fries and rice were good! They had a lot of different hot sauces on table and the three different complimentary salsas(verde, guacamole fuego, and some kind of orange one) were awesome to try and even receive! The normal salsa was amazing didnt build up spice too quickly! EVERYTHING WAS FRESH❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️best hole in the wall mexican place to stumble upon. Will be back!!

Ps-10/10 wanted to say everything in spanish to show more appreciation there at the restaurant but didnt want to torture the workers with my broken words and white girl sounds i could for sure read everything on the menu and understand a lot but i know how i sound aloud.

The peixe espada and calamari were perfectly cooked, and the sauces balanced without overpowering the flavors. The server team was proactive and friendly, ensuring drinks stayed refilled and moods stayed high. Overall, a dependable choice for a satisfying seafood night.

Comfortable lighting and timely arrivals made the meal feel relaxed rather than rushed, which is a rarity in busy evenings. The seafood selection covers classics and twists, with flavors that stay true to coastal origins. I appreciated the well-balanced cocktails and the knowledgeable staff who offered solid recommendations. Prices sit at a fair level for the quality, and the overall experience leaves a positive impression that invites another visit when cravings strike.

Horrible service. I came in at 3:00pm. It was three of us, 2 adults & 1 child. Sitting was not an issue. Our waitress Isabel was not the best. There was a bit of music in the background, but not too loud & when she was talking to us we could barely hear her. She wouldn’t speak up. Then, our food took over an hour to arrive. The only way it came out was when we mentioned it to the manager & he brought it out shortly. Isabel would rarely come by & when we would ask for more drink, napkins, etc, she would get lost & bring it much later. We ended up leaving around 5:20pm. We won’t be coming back.

I recently visited “Caribe” for the first time and it was a very pleasant surprise. From the outside, it looks like a very humble restaurant. The parking lot is rather the worse for wear and the building is underwhelming at best. Once inside, however, my impression changed 180 degrees.

The atmosphere and decor, as the name suggests, put one in mind of a Carribbean beachfront bar. The food is tropical and seafood-oriented although there are burritos, tacos, and tostadas and other more familiar Mexican favourites, as well. There are some gorgeous tropical cocktails, too.

The wait staff was friendly and very attentive. They repeatedly checked in on our situation, spiciness levels, beverage needs and so on. English was a bit of an issue but there was a “translator” staff member to help, as needed.

The prices were reasonable but certainly not cheap. On Sunday afternoon when we were there, it was quite packed but we didn’t have to wait. The music was loud so don’t expect to have a lot of conversation unless you are prepared to speak loudly.

Pro Tip: The restrooms were clean and decorated nicely. For dessert, you might consider picking up some cake at the Hispanic cake and donut shop next door.

Great place to eat but the service is plain mediocre. My husband and I love the aguachile that’s why we go there but lately the service has been poor. Went on a weekday and it took them longer than on the weekend to get the food out. We walked in today and waiting 10 mins and no one acknowledged us. They sat 2 tables after us and they had their drinks and order taken while we were just waiting for a server. We asked the host and she said she was going to find out but never came back. We waited a little longer then got up and left.

Family and I visited this place because we saw it online and that it was new.. The food was 100/10! Very delicious. I ordered the pambazo, husband ordered the red pozole, and my son ordered the torta. Everything was amazing! Only downside is it is a VERY small place, so if you plan on eating in, you might have to wait a while (or if your lucky like us, you won’t have to wait at all) the space is limited, so the tables are very much close together. But that is the only downside like I said. The food is definitely worth trying. I did notice they had a banner that they have a second location on Pendleton Pike, which is a lot bigger. Will definitely check that place out soon. But definitely, this place was amazing. They have menus at the entrance, which you can check out in line while you wait to order take out.

A local find with the most authentic greasy yet delicious Mexican food. We ordered enchiladas and quesadillas and mind you the portions looked okay but boy we were so full and stuffed up in the end. Absolutely no space to eat more. We enjoyed our meal and service was so polite and nice.

We’ve always enjoyed the food here—no complaints when it comes to that. However, our experience today was disappointing and frustrating. We arrived right when they opened, and most of the tables were empty. We sat down, but the older man at the register told us to move because the table was “reserved.”

What really bothered us was that just minutes later, a white couple came in and sat at the exact same table we had been asked to leave—and no one said anything to them. They were allowed to stay without issue.

Later on, we also saw that same man rudely tell another couple that they had to order first before sitting down. The tone and attitude just didn’t feel welcoming at all.

We ended up crammed at a small table that didn’t fit all the food we ordered, and it definitely wasn’t a pleasant dine-in experience. Sadly, I’ll probably stick to takeout from now on. The table layout isn’t great for dining in, and the service felt inconsistent and off-putting. Just a heads-up to anyone planning to eat in—be aware.

I was looking for a place on our side of town with chilaquiles and this place made our whole family happy! The servings were hearty, everything was very fresh and hot and the staff was extremely attentive and kind. It is a counter service restaurant, but the staff frequently makes rounds to check on seated guests. Everyone left full and happy and my son was already talking about what he wants to try next time.

Love love love this place!!! Was introduced to this place like 11 years by my buddy Joe and been in love with it ever since and I never had or even knew back then there was a such thing as Mexican seafood all the staff is super friendly the vibe is like if you went to Mexico on vacation they have a live mariachi band on Sundays or they just have a guy walk around singing on Sundays as well it all goes together here!! I’ve tried a number of dishes here the Flautas De Camaron is really good also the Medio Y Medio/Half & Half is really really good as well but my favorite things there are the Pacificos (Beer) Extra Ceviche it’s the fish kind I really don’t care for the shrimp kind the ceviche comes with a really good roasted tomato salsa and a spicy Verde salsa crackers and tortilla chips and either way you eat it is good put the sala on and a splash of lime and your in business!!! It’s sooooo good!!! And the best is the Langostino A La Plancha Prawn Shrimp there is nothing like it I mean from how the shrimps are cooked and how they just fall apart the rice and cucumber and onions and orange slices just all go so well with eachother and what ties EVERYTHING together in this dish is the chef’s secret butter chile de Arbol sauce!!! You can ask to adjust the spiciness of the sauce too I usually keep it regular spicy unless I’m sharing with my girlfriend or a newbie to the restaurant lol I usually get extra rice and extra sauce and the waitress know my drinks because I come there quite often I highly highly highly recommend this place to every seafood lover/fan they do not miss and the portions are really big and you are guaranteed to leave full super happy and with leftovers to go!!! I love it here!!!

At first I was a little nervous about eating here because I’m not a big sea food person but when I tell you this has been the best Mexican Sea food place I’ve ever been to! As soon as my friends and I walked in we were greeted with a warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere. We got our drinks and food pretty quick. The Langostinos were 10/10 . I also had a fish & shrimp tostadas that were pretty good! We also ordered some of their oysters & crab legs that were AMAZING, They were perfectly seasoned and flavorful. The drink I ordered was called the Sandia Tovara while my friends order the San Pancho Tamarindo and a Michelada. The Drinks were also very delicious!! I look forward to coming back and trying out more of their other very own signature drinks. To top it off I had a great 3 leches cake, not only was it very good they had so many different kinds of cakes to choose from. I highly recommend El Puerto De San Blas to anybody looking for a new sophisticated and enjoyable experience. I will definitely be back during the weekend when they have live music thank you again for a great experience & great food!! A little pricey but worth every penny.

The place was great, lovely atmosphere and great food. Although only one staff member was amazing. He seemed to be a host and I never caught his name. However the rest of staff had a horrible attitude and glared me up and down. Not sure why, they had an attitude answering questions. Horrible staff, great place. The molcajete was scrumptious!

Wow! What a perfect meal!

It’s been on our list to check out Dad’s Kitchen and today was finally the day. Please don’t make the mistake we did and sleep on this place. We had one of the best brunches we’ve ever had in Indy. Felt like we were in Chicago, NYC or San Francisco. Upscale food, but not pretentious. Great service with a bustling atmosphere.

Food was full of flavor, homemade sauces with the chorizo burrito were so delicious. The French toast is everything you’ve already seen in the reviews and more. I couldn’t believe just how good it was, I already want more. We’ll be back soon to try the rest of menu!

A great little cafe with a mix of American and Latin American cuisine on the menu. I actually really liked this combination, as you can order something as simple as pancakes or as complex as mole enchiladas. The food itself was tasty and just the right portion size. I do wish they had a dedicated kids menu though. Service was friendly and relatively quick as well. Overall this is a great option if you’re looking for cafe style or Latin American food in Broad Ripple.

Waitress was Rayann (not sure if I spelled correct). We are looking forward to next visit and highly recommend. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day

Pretty much the only true Dominican Caribbean food around. I live well over an hour away and I was in Indy for work and came across this restaurant and thought I’d stop an check it out. I do feel like my meal being over $20 was a little high. One of my coworkers did come with me and she is a vegetarian and only had a few things to pick from. The menu is small but the lunch was great. Definitely a little authentic Caribbean restaurant to check out with great food.

Latin home cooking on the NW side of Indianapolis

I had been to Tu Casa multiple times, and would generally recommend it.
The menu is a bit unpredictable – though they have some items cooked to order (mostly fried appetizers) the main courses come from a “hot line”, cafeteria style. And the selection changes a bit every time.
As is the case with home cooking, some items may be better than others , or not consistent across different visits.
But taken together with the huge portions and the friendly service…I always felt like eating at someone’s kitchen.

We had two lunches (enough to feed 4 people), a hearty soup, and three beverages, under $40.

I also like the fact that the place was run by women, every time I visited. I like to support locally owned businesses like that.

Place had been recommended a few times. Finally had time to visit. As a Latino living in Indianapolis it’s not always easy getting Spanish food that isn’t Mexican. Nothing wrong with Mexican but today I was able to get rice with pigeon peas, roasted shredded pork shoulder and Spanish potato salad. My wife got to try the same and also tried the tamarind juice. She loved it. My wife before she met me never had experienced anything other than Mexican. Safe to say her palate has expanded exponentially since we got together. I like that the menu will change daily. I would definitely return and recommend anyone stop by and try the food.

Update: 1/30/24. – finally had a chance to visit again the food is still amazing. Service is great.
If you want Spanish that isn’t Mexican stop by.

MAL SERVICIO, CARO y COMIDA MALA!

The food is full of flavor!!! The pollo guisado(chicken legs) is. great! The chicken arepas are wonderful! The beef arepas are delicious! The empanadas are good too. The sancocho soup is life changing! The baked chicken is also wonderful! This place is a must try! It’s not a big restaurant but it is decent seating and no long waits! Update: the customer service varies from person to person. The cook is very friendly. Coming mid afternoon is best.

Frequently asked questions about spanish restaurants in Indianapolis

What defines authentic Spanish cuisine in Indianapolis?

Authenticity in Spanish restaurants in Indianapolis comes from a blend of traditional ingredients, classic techniques, and a focus on regional flavors. Many venues highlight dishes like paella, tortilla de patatas, and gazpacho, prepared with olive oil, garlic, and seafood or cured meats. Look for menus that mention Spain-inspired menus and chefs with a background in Spanish cooking.

Which dishes are must-tries for first-time visitors?

For first-timers, start with tapas to sample multiple flavors. Popular choices include croquetas, patatas bravas, gambas al ajillo, and pimientos de padrón. Share a paella or a hearty tortilla to experience a signature dish. Pair with a glass of Tempranillo or a crisp Albariño if offered, and enjoy bread service with olive oil.

Are there vegetarian or gluten-free options available?

Many restaurants offer vegetarian tapas such as patatas bravas, espinacas con garbanzos, and pimientos de padrón. They may also offer gluten-free options like grilled vegetables or seafood dishes prepared without gluten-containing sauces. Always ask about cross-contact and confirm ingredients with staff to ensure your needs are met.

Do I need to make reservations, and when is the best time to dine?

Reservations are often recommended, especially on weekends or for large groups. Many spots offer online booking, while others take calls for private tables or tasting menus. If you plan to visit during peak hours, consider earlier seatings or arriving for happy hour tapas to avoid waits.

What is the typical price range for a Spanish meal in Indianapolis?

Prices vary by location and dish. Tapas typically range from $5-$12 per item, with main courses often between $15-$30. A wine by the glass may be around $8-$14, and a dessert around $6-$9. Expect to spend more on prime cuts or signature paella dishes.

What is the difference between tapas and small plates, and how are they served?

In many restaurants, tapas are small plates designed for sharing, while small plates or entrees can be larger for individual meals. The terminology can vary by venue, but the concept is to sample a variety of flavors while dining with others. If you want a single, complete meal, ask for a recommended tasting menu or family-style service.

What beverages pair well with Spanish cuisine?

Beverage options include sangría, sherry, and a curated list of wines from Spain, such as Rioja and Tempranillo. Non-alcoholic choices include sparkling water, house-made lemonades, and coffee or espresso after meals. Beer lovers can enjoy a Spanish lager or craft options available locally.

Are there Spanish desserts worth trying?

For desserts, consider trying churros with chocolate, crema catalana, or flan. Some restaurants offer bread pudding with warm sauces or seasonal specials. If you’re unsure, ask for the chef’s recommendation to discover a sweet finish that complements your meal.

Do Spanish restaurants offer private events or catering services?

Many Spanish restaurants provide private dining options, catering, or tasting menus for events, business meetings, or celebrations. You can usually request a custom menu, a dedicated service team, and space for special occasions. Inquire about booking windows and any minimum spend requirements.

Where are the best areas to find Spanish restaurants in Indianapolis?

Areas with a concentration of Spanish or Mediterranean dining in Indianapolis include Downtown, Broad Ripple, and Fountain Square. These districts often host a mix of traditional and modern interpretations, offering intimate tapas rooms and lively dining scenes. When selecting a restaurant, check for menu variety, dining times, and parking options to plan a convenient visit.
