Newly rebuilt deck- we love it! Ruber and Enoc were very meticulous. Love the spindles and cocktail rail. Added about 2″ to the existing deck. Hillary was very good in communications, especially since the weather in December was not the best working conditions. Would definitely recommend Heartland for deck building.

We hired heartland builders for finishing our 1100 sq feet unfinished basement space. Logan from Heartland worked with us throughout out this process. They were very quick to start the process and finished it in 6 weeks end to end. They even gave us a very competitive pricing , with a high grade finish.
The workers who came to finish the job were very professional though out the process.

They gave us choices to choose from. If we were too busy, Logan would do a run down and even send pics for the choice we would like. They were very flexible with choices also if we needed anything additional. It was all so easy. I really recommend these builders. From making the drawings to delivering it awesome job throughout. They are a great team.

After comparing numerous other builders in the local area, none of them got as high marks in my book as Drees. Everything from the staff, to the quality of the materials and building process, to communication and concern for me as the customer was above and beyond my expectations and what I had experienced at other builders. Highly recommend Drees Homes to anyone looking for the highest quality and customer support in their home building/buying experience.

Unfortunately we have not had a good experience with our Drees home. We bought a paired villa in Stone Haven in Avon, In. And continue to have problems with poor workmanship. We had several issues with cracks in our ceilings that they had the drywallers patch and repair. The final fix was adding an expansion joint that left an unsightly gap in the ceiling between the kitchen and study.

We have an air flow issue in our rooms upstairs. It’s usually 10 to 15 degrees hotter upstairs than downstairs. We have to close the vents in the winter and use several fans in the summer to try to cool down the area. We are currently working with a heating and cooling company to solve the problem.

None of our cabinet drawers or doors are soft close. They have always been standard features in past homes we have purchased. We are in the process of having them all changed out. All toilet seats were not soft close either so all of them have been changed out.

We are four months past our one year warranty and we are still having workmanship problems. Most recently a piece of baseboard separated from the wall in the guest bedroom upstairs. Was told by Drees customer service that this was just a calking issue and was the responsibility of the owner to have repaired. I understand it is now my responsibility but the point is baseboard should not be separating from the wall after 16 months.

We are hopeful nothing else goes wrong with our home. Based on our experience, I would be hard pressed to recommend a Drees home to anyone.

Byron Russell, Brett Hoover, Megan Earl, and the entire Drees Team did an amazing job walking us through the process of selection, design, build, and closing. We certainly had moments in the process where there were questions, concerns, and even a few frustrations, but the Drees Team was incredibly responsive to any and all of our questions, concerns, and frustrations we expressed. There are lots of good builders in the Westfield area, but I would put Drees up against the best of them — great experience, great people, and now — for us! — a great home that we have been thoroughly enjoying. I wish I would have read more reviews before buying from Onyx. The construction met code but the customer service was anything but service. You need things fixed that they agree to fix, you better be ready to wait it out. My punch list from the purchase (March of 243) took until September to finish and the 1 year took until the end of July.

Oh and buyer be ware, if Onyx and East needs to make a sale, they will use their HOA “Board of Director” powers to approve exceptions for AirBnB companies to buy a unit. And once they are done that exception stands until the unit is sold again. I won’t buy from them again.

They will probably respond to this review with words of zero substance and to that I say don’t bother.

I recently purchased a home from Onyx + East and while the overall quality of construction meets expectations, there were significant communication issues that impacted our experience. We were not informed during the buying process that retaining walls would be necessary, which was a crucial detail as it changed the layout and usability of our backyard. Instead of the flat backyard with a cement walkway leading to the garage door that we anticipated, we have a tiered garden space that required a custom deck investment, while functional, was not what we envisioned or planned for.

The lack of clear communication about this significant change was disappointing. I believe that better transparency regarding property modifications would greatly improve the customer experience. Future buyers should ensure they are given comprehensive details about the layout and any changes to the property before finalizing their purchase.

After closing, we had a positive experience, particularly due to the exceptional service provided by Adam, the Warranty & Quality Assurance Manager. From the outset, Adam was responsive in promptly and thoroughly addressing any questions we had. His proactive approach in ensuring that our understood various aspects of our new home was greatly appreciated. Adam not only assisted in resolving work tickets but also provided invaluable recommendations for regular house maintenance, which have been essential for keeping our home in good condition. His tips are practical and shows his understanding and commitment to homeowner satisfaction.

We love our home!! I would recommend Onyx + East to anyone looking for a reliable builder. The professionalism and expertise of their team, especially highlighted by Adam’s dedication, made my home-buying experience enjoyable.

Polaris Windows, a division of Modern Builder Supply are ABSOLUTE JUNK!! I purchased 13 flimsy Dynaweld windows and half of them were defective. The sash latches would stick open and when the window sash was raised, it would fall forward and rip right out of the frame! This happened to 2 windows!. I contacted Modern Builder Supply, who owns Polaris Windows, and they offered me “parts” to repair 2 windows that failed and were beyond repair! They didnt even bother to look at the photos I emailed them that clearly showed these windows were not repairable as the cheap, thin, plastic vinyl frames were busted. So, I sued them and won my case! In the meantime, I go back to purchase a replacement window (only because I want all the windows to match) and my customer’s home has a big hole in the side of it covered with plywood (a 7 month ordeal) and they refuse to sell to me a replacement window because I did the right thing and sued them! STAY AWAY!!!! Pathetic product and even worse customer service!!!!!! Not only is their product JUNK, their treatment of their customer’s is obviously just as bad. To this day they refuse to make this right! Matter of fact, once their Sales Manager, Bob Dale, got wind of my BBB report, he called me out of the blue and wanted me to call him ro discuss my review. So, I emailed him so that our conversation would be documented. He ignored my email, never replied, and went silent! So, if you have a problem with these people, you’re screwed!

Living out of state, while building with Silverthorne Homes, has been a challenge for me. However Jason, Hunter and Stacey have made extra concessions to not make my challenge a big deal! Stacey Schwartz, my Design Consultant, was AMAZING to work with. In addition to proving her classy design suggestions, she also provided patience, thorough communication, professionalism and strong organizational skills. Stacey was invaluable, in the process, of making my house a beautiful home!

A Little Endeavor

I live in a custom built neighborhood. Two of my neighbors chose Silverthorne to build their home. Throughout the process of both homes I have never seen a build site so filthy. Trash and excess building materials lying all over and blowing into mine & others nicely manicured lawns. The mud that is 3 inches deep on the side walks and now in garages from the rain washing it into the road is ridiculous. Both neighbors are STILL waiting on their final grade, the building materials still left on the property, and sod to be laid. One house was finished in DECEMBER. The other in MARCH. It is mid JUNE. They were promised their final grade & yard to be laid in MAY. I would advise anyone to NEVER build with this company. They have promised to finish their yards and then have still yet to follow through. Their kind of business is unacceptable. Professionalism at its lowest.

After the roof replacement, we encountered an unprecedented hail storm. Matt was out the very next morning to double check the new roof was sill intact. It took no damage from the nearly softball sized hail. Trust Matt, he’s your guy!

Had Corey Kiger come to my home to look at wind damage from a tree. He was kind and seemed knowledgeable. After some time he wrote me up a quote to do the repair. I had him come back and walk through with my insurance adjuster. He even took a piece of my siding to get started on matching it for the repair. After it had been awhile and I followed up with him to see how things were going with my insurance company on negotiating the cost of the repairs. He told me to be patient the process with insurance could take awhile. After even more time I contacted my insurance company to learn that they had not received anything from him. I attempted to contact him numerous times via email and phone calls but received no response. Totally wild to get ghosted after all that time and work. Do not waste your time, they will waste yours.

We chose Elbert for both roofing & siding replacement after storm damage. They were actually recommended by our insurance company, and we thought there would be fewer hassles getting the jobs done within budget. Elbert did not disappoint, & we felt like we got more than what we bargained for. The workmanship & quality of materials was excellent. Representative Matthew Frederick was great to work with too… Very much in tune with our choices & expectations. I’d use Elbert again & again should my home remain in the path of hail storms, but we should be set for decades now.

Horrible service. Cheap materials. They say luxury, these homes wouldn’t stay standing in 3/4th of the country. Expect $$$ mark up.

The sales counselors need more training. They don’t even know about the house they are selling and give all false information. The customer has to eventually pay for it. They cant accept their incompetent sales pitch. Please get trained at your own cost. Don’t learn new stuff at the cost of the customer. I wish there was a lesser rating. They don’t deserve even 1 star

I would recommend Taylor homes to anybody who’s looking to do a home build. All their team is great they’re easy to work with they’re down to earth they speak to you as a person not as a number. The things that sold me on Taylor homes was they all have an encapsulated crawl space and all their homes are brick. I also love how you can actually modify the house to what you want in the early stages and most Builders will not allow us to do that. Taylor homes also offers a lot of upgrades that we did not take advantage of only because we just wanted a simple house. We love the floor plan because there are so many to choose from that they offer.
We love the new home and can’t wait to spent the rest of our lives in it.

Wonderful experience from day 1! The quality of the home they just finished for me is superb, I am very pleased. When my husband and I first bought our property, we had dreams to build a barndominum on our property. We didn’t realize how hard it was going to be to find someone to build our barndo in our area, without an outrageous quote.
To be honest, we were really reluctant, and discouraged when we started looking for builders to build a traditional home for us. We could only find three builders in our rural area, and after two terrible visits with other builders, we almost didn’t even go to check out Taylor Homes. I’m SO thankful that we did.
We walked in to the Indianapolis show home, and we were greeted by Miss Beth. What a ray of sunshine! After a fabulous time working with Beth, looking through options, and floor plans. She answered many questions, and gave us so much information. We left that day feeling SO encouraged, and knew Taylor Homes was it for us!
We continued to work with Miss Stephanie, who spent SO much time with us, on multiple occasions going through tedious options and plans. She literally made our floor plan exactly how we wanted with scissors and glue. That woman is fierce with those scissors and glue!
We continued to work with Miss Eva, and Rob.
Sweet Eva was a lifesaver. She helped me through the process of getting permits, and everything we needed with our county to get released for construction. We went through our blue prints with Rob, then we were released for construction, to work with our foreman, Matt.
Everyone we have worked with has always been so great about communicating. Anytime I ever called or emailed, I would always get an answer right back.
Our foreman Matt always had a constant line of communications. It didn’t matter if it was day or night, we always felt welcomed to ask any questions or concerns. We lived over an hour away from where our home was being built. Matt was always sending us pictures and updates. If we ever needed anything done at the property, he was always willing to run over to our property. He always made us feel like #1 priority, even with other jobs he had going on. Matt is seriously the man!
We moved in July 1st, and Matt has still been in contact to make sure things are still going well!

I would 10,000% recommend anyone wanting to build, to build with Taylor!
Our home is absolutely gorgeous. Our framing went up on March 21st, and we moved in July 1st. There were so many options with Taylor, and so many gorgeous standard features. Most all of the options I wanted with other builders were extra charge upgrades. With Taylor, they were standard options!

I have absolutely loved everyone we have worked with, and I know there are more people behind the scenes we never even met, and we are so thankful to them as well.
Thank you Taylor for building our dream home! It’s even better than we ever imagined!

Good afternoon,
I am writing this letter of recommendation in regards to our home building process with Taylor Homes.
My husband and I began this process in April with Stephanie Kimble, New Home Sales Consultant, at your model on Cold Spring Rd. in Indianapolis. Stephanie was very accommodating and patient with us as we selected all of our options. She was very knowledgeable and ensured all of our questions were answered.
We continued our journey with Robert Green, Superintendent, on our property. Robert was helpful with letting us know what steps we needed to take to get our land ready for construction. He stayed in contact with us through each phase and informed us if any changes needed to be made in a timely manner.
We were then introduced to Anthony Lambert, Superintendent, who stepped in to assist Robert with his current workload. Anthony did not hesitate to jump right in and assure us that things were running smoothly and he would be there to answer any questions we had. From that point on we had contact at least once every couple of days. He was very hands on and made several trips to the home to make sure things were being done correctly. We made phone calls and sent texts to him after business hours and he always followed up with us in a timely manner. If something was wrong, he took care of it. We feel he went above and beyond and are very grateful for his can-do attitude!
We are now only 2 days away from getting the keys to our dream home and it is everything we imagined it would be. I would recommend Taylor Homes to anyone looking for a good quality brick home built on your own land!
